481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The problem with paying using bitcoin on: April 18, 2016, 05:50:17 AM
Where are you guys buying your Bitcoins from? I am buying at an exchange with my debit card because the fees look lower to me than trying to buy coins from Localbitcoins where a lot of sellers put 10%-20%  markup on top of the spot price of Bitcoin.
482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: is gambling fix your life? or wreck your life? on: April 18, 2016, 05:38:08 AM
If you are not a professional gambler gambling can't fix or wreck your life because you are playing for fun. If you try to make gambling a business for you then you could have some bad moments in life if you are on a big losing spree and can't turn things around so yeah gambling can literally wreck your life. As I am a casual bettor I am staying away from trying too hard to win money and just enjoy my bets as I go.
483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Types of Bitcoin Users on: April 18, 2016, 05:31:33 AM
Well not everyone who frequents the Bitcointalk forum lives in a rich country with high salaries so I guess a dollar in Bitcoin for these people would go a long way where they are at so making the effort to earn coins is worth it for them. I think we should add a new type of user to that list ' the Bitcoin wage earner ' lol.
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin being used for illegal activities on: April 18, 2016, 05:23:20 AM
Yeah Bitcoin is popular among online criminals and it's a preferred way of getting ransoms for hijacking your computers lately. But I am seeing a lot of companies specializing in Blockchain security and tracking of illicit deals so maybe they can keep up with the criminals and give them some hard time. It's Wild West now out there but countermeasures are being put into place to handle the thefts.
485  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: April 18, 2016, 05:16:46 AM
I need to have both a bank account and a Bitcoin wallet since every time I would need cash I would still need a bank account to withdraw funds to from Bitcoin exchanges. It is not convenient to have a Bitcoin debit card because the fees are really high compared to a normal debit card issued by a bank. I don't know how you guys convert digital money into physical money but having a bank account is a must for me.
486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Divorce: A Match Made in Heaven? on: April 18, 2016, 05:10:42 AM
If your wife doesn't know that you were keeping a Bitcoin wallet somewhere I don't know how her lawyer or the court would be aware of that if there are no records of money going there. Maybe if she hired a detective to investigate into your financials or something you could be caught red-handed but I highly doubt it.
487  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you ever lost Bitcoin? on: April 18, 2016, 05:05:08 AM
I have lost Bitcoins because of my own fault. I had a software wallet that was installed on my previous laptop and I didn't have a backup. So one day I dropped it and since it had a HDD it malfunctioned and the data got corrupted and unfortunately I couldn't recover my funds there. Lesson learned though always keep a backup somewhere.
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need ebay like site to promote bitcoin on: April 18, 2016, 04:58:20 AM
I think PayPal separated from Ebay and is now a single company as it was becoming harder to keep both businesses profitable running side by side. Having a Bitcoin Ebay alternative could boost the usage of Bitcoin among the online shoppers that's true. But I am not sure what kind of revenue such a Bitcoin business would generate.
489  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: April 17, 2016, 12:53:42 AM
I am trying to save up at least half of what has left of my salary after paying the bills and other expenses like food clothes etc. I don't splurge on unnecessary and expensive things any more. I only really spend money on vacations this is my way of recharging and getting away from problems in life. Also I go 1 or 2 times a year and that is certainly less expensive than buying pricey electronics every other month.
490  Economy / Economics / Re: How many Bitcoin do you have saved? on: April 17, 2016, 12:36:27 AM
I have at least 1 whole Bitcoin saved just in case the price sky rockets in the near future. Other than that I am getting my salary deposited into my bank account so I can convert to Bitcoin only when I really need to like there is an item I want to purchase etc. I don't want to go big on Bitcoin and spend a lot of cash buying coins because it's a gamble you could win a lot but you could also lose a lot so I am taking it easy right now and still testing the waters.
491  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1k in january on: April 16, 2016, 10:42:25 PM
Lol btc will collapse then you'll cry cause you didn't sold at the right time, stop taking risks.

On the contrary I think Bitcoin will flourish while Ethereum will collapse but that's just me I guess. And $1000 in January 2017 is not so far-fetched as some people might think. People are selling their alt coins and buyin back into Bitcoin. You know that by dumping the alt coin reserves their prices will crash right?
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need ebay like site to promote bitcoin on: April 16, 2016, 10:34:15 PM
Ebay is great for getting second-hand stuff. We have an alternative to that already and it's decentralized and open source - OpenBazaar. However in my honest opinion Amazon is the better site for new stuff and a lot of my friends use it way more than Ebay. If Amazon adopts Bitcoin it would be a huge push for getting Bitcoin into the mainstream. If someone launches a Bitcoin alternative to Amazon with the scale and plethora of offered products it would be a dream come true.
493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to teach someone about Bitcoin on: April 16, 2016, 10:24:38 PM
If you want to get your friends or family interested in learning about Bitcoin just tell them Bitcoin is free Internet money and I am sure they would like to check it out as soon as possible. Additionally, some people don't like to read long manuals so showing them starters videos about how Bitcoin works would be great. If you have gotten them interested you have done your part as they most likely will have the desire to find out more about Bitcoin and crypto currencies on their own.

494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Help Mexicans to Overcome Trump’s Border Wall on: April 16, 2016, 09:09:32 PM
I don't know what Trump is trying to achieve with this. He wants to waste more cash on building a wall than what the remittances are worth anyways what's the point of that? His ludicrous plan will just plain suck. Are there really so many Americans who hate foreigners so much as to vote for Trump? Well Genesis Mining rightfully slapped him in the face with that ad of theirs.
495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be considered as a Sickness!! on: April 16, 2016, 09:02:16 PM
I only gamble when I am feeling bored or want to wind down after a long week of work. I do most of my bets during the weekend when a lot of the higher leagues football games are happening. Gambling can be a recreational thing if done right and not be a sickness as you say. I bet small amounts and have fun every time no matter if I am losing or winning.
496  Economy / Gambling / Re: GGFANTASY.COM - bitcoin DAILY FANTASY SPORTS | Free and GPP soccer contests! on: April 16, 2016, 08:56:04 PM
Yeah it's always a smart move to rely on Real's offense to bring you a lot of points. Cristiano Ronaldo promoted to captain usually generates a lot of points. Today I noticed a lot of players had subs that made quite some points too like there were some subs that finished with more than 10 points wow But. I think today's best footballer is Aguero with his hattrick.
497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies are not newbies indeed... on: April 16, 2016, 08:42:36 PM
It's very hard to spot genuine newbies any more. Most of the people here on the forum have an army of alt accounts sucking dry the signature campaigns. Now there is a new breed of newbie gamblers with a shitload of sock puppet accounts participating in the games and predictions threads because it's easy cash for them and that's more than they could earn in 1 month's time from signatures. Sometimes the shitshow is just plain obvious lol.
498  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Pointless releasing anything like OpenBazaar on any other format besides Android on: April 16, 2016, 08:34:43 PM
Android is the most popular operating system in the world only if cellphones are concerned. On the desktop Windows is till the most popular OS. Good luck trying to run the complete OpenBazaar app on your cellphone and getting all the features of a Windows, Linux or OSX app. Most likely your phone or tablet would run out of battery before noon every day if you try to run your shop 24/7.
499  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin dropped to $1, what you do? on: April 16, 2016, 08:25:52 PM
I think the price of Bitcoin would drop to $1 only if Satoshi Nakamoto would sell his/her stash of coins and the market crashes to the ground. But if this highly unlikely event does happen I would buy as many Bitcoins as possible and sell everything for profit if another crazy pump and dump happens later on.
500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ever dreamed about Bitcoin? on: April 15, 2016, 10:04:28 AM
Last Saturday I had a very strange dream. I was the owner of a pizza place in New York City and suddenly I had a customer who ordered a family-sized pizza and offered to pay me 10 000 Bitcoins for it. I didn't know what that was so I refused and asked to be paid in dollars. Then I woke up from that nightmare  Grin
