[17:44] <@pirateat40> Wouldn't it be fun to run with the coins though?  I could make history....  If i pay back, I just get forgotten. Sad

I didn't even lose money with Pirate, but reading this just infuriates me. Openly mocking the people who sent him their money. If you're gonna take it all, just leave. This is sadistic.

Why is he still hanging around? Arsonist watching a house burn?

Increasing to 40 BTC. -- 137kcYJSmoEzhVoMMXZs6SdDLw8Q6wRudp

And that's about 20 percent of my BTC. Mouth, meet money.

Leaving this here in case you missed it:

Just to make clear the bond is now dead or closed as BTCST has failed to send me coins with in 72 hours or make interest payments.

Pirate has defaulted.

Assuming pirate will ever pay in full I will pass along the weeks interest and the face value of the bond.

Again this bond is now dead and to make clear if pirate does not send fund the bonds are worth 0 BTC.

Thank you.

Well, since you're just giving out bitcoins, essentially, I request that my bet be raised from 20 BTC to 30 BTC.

No he is not essentially giving away BTCs....  If it were not for me buying bonds on GLBSE under 50% face I would be doing the same.

You're buying bonds? That's not what you said a few hours earlier..

Oh, dang. That's the post I've been waiting for. Hadn't seen that yet.

Goat, who met Pirate in Vegas and operated a PPT, has declared that Pirate has defaulted.

Folks, that's a case closed. There is no meeting behind closed doors, no smoke and mirrors. It's all over.

5 BTC

(adding address soon, blockchain.info is down for me)

not you too. ;/

I guess everyone cracks given enough time. I suppose if I wasn't busy spending my coins on hokers and blow, I may split a coin between forum m8's as well. ;p

*shakes his head at Matthew*

Hey, I cracked when theymos posted his bet. I already have a bet on betsofbitco.in though....

I hope I'm wrong! I hope everyone gets their coins back. I'm sick of all the "i told you so's" and other bullshit being spewn around right now. Nothing worth reading on the forum at the moment.

Bruce Wagner. He misleads lots and lots of people even today.
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Pirate Runs: The Danger of one entity with 500K BTC on: August 21, 2012, 10:50:43 PM
500k "paper" coins because of all the compounded interest. I'd bet he has far fewer coins on the blockchain than that.
489  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Nintendo 64 on: August 21, 2012, 04:33:28 AM
I can sell 4 OEM controllers at 1 BTC each regardless of exchange rate. The joysticks aren't good though.

I think that's better than ebay.

I also know a guy that sells N64s really cheap, I can have one drop shipped.
I bought 4 controllers off ebay a few years ago, and 3 of them had bad joysticks. You take them apart, and smother a bunch of really cheap crest toothpaste all over it. Let it try for a few days/up to a week, and you're good as new!

I have scoured the internet for solutions to those joysticks, never once heard of this. Hmmm... Maybe I'll try it.
490  Economy / Securities / Re: S.DICE - Want a piece of SatoshiDICE? IPO this week before new site launch! on: August 21, 2012, 03:51:36 AM
What are the odds a clone site will get made and run on a non US controlled domain and the owners report the .com site to ICE to take out the competition ?

Might be better to move to a .eu or something now and get it established  Smiley

The website itself doesn't really matter that much. He might as well copy/paste the content of that webpage onto a bitcointalk.org forum post.

Erik tries to make money in every way he can, and more power to him. He sticks to his mottos, that's for sure Smiley

How much does he charge for an N64? I'm not really interested in the joysticks if they don't work close to perfect. Paying a few extra dollars isn't a problem for me if it means a better controller overall.

DeLorean, are there any problems with the N64 that I should know about, or does it work properly? I just need to know so that there aren't any problems left untended to.

493  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [POLL] How will Pirateat40's debt repayment unfold? on: August 20, 2012, 01:45:09 PM
If anyone is positive that Pirate is a ponzi/scam, please see this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=101751

I don't know how you guys feel about betting, but for those of you who really think he's full of shit, then this should be easy money for you: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=101751

If you're gonna shit on this thread, that's fine. Just don't do it twice.
494  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: The sorry and thank you Pirateat40 thread on: August 20, 2012, 01:38:42 PM
Not only did Pirate brought us a great opportunity for investors (once in a lifetime actually), he did help stabilise and grow steadily bitcoin price, volume exchange, and thus contributed to the success of bitcoin. For that, Pirate, I want to thank you. You've done a wonderful work, and I hope you're stay around here.

Regardless of the outcome, I dont think anyone owes an apology

There was a swing in the Bticoin "market cap" of nearly $75 million in under 48 hours.  That kind of volatility is harmful to Bitcoin.

The announcement occurred when the ability to send wire transfers to Mt. Gox had ended on Friday.  Perfect timing for maximum damage over the weekend.

Pirateat40 is not a friend of Bitcoin.  Pirate ... is a scoundrel.

I do apologize.  But not to pirate.  I apologize for not having the courage of conviction to yell at the top of my lungs that this entire deal stunk to high heaven.

495  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY! on: August 20, 2012, 03:20:23 AM

It's going to bounce around as people who sold buy back thinking they're doing it at the bottom.  I'm saying, I don't think most of people playing in the market realize that there's a storm headed this way and it's even bigger than the one that already passed through.

I agree. I think.
496  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin fall below $7 today on: August 20, 2012, 02:56:52 AM
For me, I hope it falls so my money can buy me more bitcoins. For bitcoin, I hope it rises. I think it will fall.
497  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: August 20, 2012, 01:51:04 AM
Well I guess that bid wall is real. I've been waiting for it to come down all day. It hasn't moved since it was put up.
498  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who predicted this on: August 19, 2012, 11:35:21 PM
So, TA folks, whose chart-fu saw this crash coming?

It's kind of silly to refer to technical charts when a single entity appears to control the vast majority of traded coin.

If anyone was on vacation for the week they wouldn't even notice the impact of this weekend.

Doubtful
500  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [POLL] How will Pirateat40's debt repayment unfold? on: August 19, 2012, 10:07:32 PM
It doesnt work that way. Sure, if you have 500K btc you can crash the price, easily. But you can not buy back 500K btc later without sending the price in to the stratosphere.
