I'd pray for a violent intruder in my house. I have many special features built into my home for protection. Not to mention that as an American I have guns, lots of guns. Shotguns and handguns for inside, AKs and ARs for the property. I think it would be a very one sided fight as I watch them on camera while putting on my body armor.

No disrespect, but your opinion + my opinion + a cup of coffee = a cup of coffee

Nonsense. You don't corner a optional currency market. What would you gain? You corner the onion or potato market to control price. There is no chance of doing that with a global asset that no one even knows who owns what. All buying does is bring the price up and work against a buyer trying to get a lot of coins.

then why is it only exchange companies that sell it? Isn't the same exchange companies owned by the financial moguls?
Anyone can sell their bitcoin however they want. Exchanges have arisen because they make sense and minimize counter-party risk. Anyone can mine it and sell it for whatever price they like. It is totally decentralized.

No one has any more authority than anyone else. Anyone who wants to use bitcoin can. George Soros can't stop you from using bitcoin and you can't stop him either. Fair money.

Hate to bump my own thread, but the money is still just sitting there.
You should advertise it in the local newspapers I would be happy to go to a trip to the location but to get there and to get home would cost much more than the value of the bitcoins in the wallet (maybe if the price of bitcoin will rise again around $20.000 there would be more interest finding that wallet...) Yes, not really profitable to do that. However, I will not be moving this for a year. If the price goes to $40K the game is still on. It would be funny if the price did skyrocket and someone got a free vacation to Africa. But even if it goes to a million... So be it.

"wins over"... What does that mean?
Bitcoin is a math algorithm. It treats us all the same. Governments, poor people, "whales", red heads, etc. There is no winning.

Why ask. Isn't it obvious that no person on Earth knows the future? You might as well ask what tomorrows lottery numbers are.

Don't make any money. The best way to avoid taxes is to live dirt poor your entire life. You'll be liv'n the dream in your cardboard box under the highway bridge. No government tyranny now! Just the freedom of all the garbage you can eat.

It's the same stupid blindness that led to Blockbuster video thinking streaming is no threat. Somehow people who are winning in business can't see the changes coming. Why? Because they don't want it to happen.

There is absolutely no such thing as recovering bitcoin that has been transfered to someone else's private key. You are only going to be ripped off a second time.

So buy high and sell low? You should make your own decisions. But when you sell low you are locking in a loss. And why pay to sell when you could get paid to spend? Take a deep breath and think about your strategy.

Recover? It ain't sick.
The price of bitcoin is not based on wishing. If you want to see a gain in valuation then YOU are going to have to do something. How many retailers have you spoken with about taking bitcoin? Are you buying stuff with your bitcoin of just trading it back and forth with fiat? Bitcoins price is just right for how it's being used. Want more? Do more.

The reason is because of Sutton's law. Based on bank robber Willie Sutton"s supposed quote. When a reporter asked him why he robs banks he replied "Because that's where the money is". Money attracts criminals, plain and simple. Bitcoin is money so it should be no surprise to see all the scams here.

Not sure how you guys are paying high fees. I just bought some plane tickets and the Tx fee was about $2.15 That's not so bad , right?
You bought a ticket for the plane for $ 2.5 or is it a commission of only $ 2.5? Forgive me, I still do not understand English well, I'm trying to learn the language, but not yet super) I think the tickets were like $700.00 USD. But the mining fee to send the bitcoin was about $2.15 USD.

I do not think that it is an easy job because buying and selling a house requiring an authority from the government. People can use bitcoin to buy or sell their house, but it only causes a lot of problem. Who can prove that the house is your own when all transaction are anonymous and decentralized ?
That's odd. Here in the U.S. we never need permission to sell or buy. I will be selling my home for bitcoin once I have found a place for sale in bitcoin. I don't want fiat. For those unfamiliar, it is EASIER to buy a house in bitcoin than other methods. When I buy I expect the entire transaction to be over in an hour. Not weeks like when you involve a bank, minutes.

I don't know why this is so surprising? It happens every day now. Last week I flew out to Durango to look at property. I liked the area. Anyone here selling land? I'm interested in 50+ acer plots, (100+ is better) in southwestern Colorado. Here is the hard part. Must have water on it or a tested well.
I am next going to look at northeast Nevada or Washington state. So if you have a place there shoot me a PM. But I'm not interested in cities or suburbs.
