I don't understand the insider trading risk? Inside what?
1402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin GEOCACHE in Iceland FREE money!! GAME STILL ON!! on: November 10, 2016, 05:24:33 PM
Can we have a new one, whilst this one is still running? Hopefully the new one will not be that remote. Did you promote this only on this forum or did you promote it on social media too? The success of this is dependent on the exposure it gets, and how many people hear about this.

This thread stays on the front page for only a few days, when it gets bumped or only a few hours depending on the traffic in this section. It is actually strange that they have not moved it yet to the Games & Rounds section.  Huh

I plan on doing this again and in a less remote location. I almost left one in Vancouver last week. As far as promotion... I only advertised it here. I was going to post at geocacheing.com but found out what a ridiculous system they had and gave up after two weeks of trying to get approval.
You also have a point about this being in the games section. I posted it here first because I thought it would go in hours. It later evolved into more of a game.

1404  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to open a bitcoin account? on: November 09, 2016, 06:34:24 PM
You should start by reading up on wallets. They are not all the same and different systems have different considerations. As mentioned above, there are no accounts. Bitcoin is a protocol and you may want to think of it like the Internet protocol you already use. So you would not say " how do I open an Internet account"? There are all sorts of accounts that use the protocol, but you don't need any account to view the Internet. (in theory anyway).
You are also on your own with bitcoin. There is no business behind bitcoin. If you lose your money then it is gone and nobody can recover it. You and you alone own your bitcoin.

Wow, you have such a great system that you don't even need my money!!!!!

Let's do the math.
If you have just 1BTC you are going to be super rich very soon. Since being super rich is cool you can surely come up with $700 for the first coin. Then...

In 41 days you will have 1024BTC!!!!

In 83 days you will have 1,052,672BTC!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats man. You don't need any bitcoin, you have a system! Soon you will own all the coins.

1408  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What is the most reliable bitcoin exchange. on: November 08, 2016, 07:55:12 PM
Consider that any exchange in the U.S. that does not do the required AML and KYC diligence can not be trusted. All you can say about such an exchange is that it is not following the law. So why would they honor your withdraw? Why not just steal your money and leave you with no legal recourse?
1409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $1.4 Billion Invested in Bitcoin & Blockchain Investments on: November 08, 2016, 07:46:38 PM
Blockchain technologies ≠ Bitcoin

Just the opposite, development of commercial Blockchain use, especially by mainstream banks with fraud protection, will most certainly end any public desire for Bitcoin. Why would you use Bitcoin when you can have a professionally developed system that's automatically fully integrated into society?
...
I think you know why. I would not even consider using bank-chains. Hell bitcoin is exactly rejecting using a professional system fully integrated into society, i.e. fiat.
1410  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Taxes on Bitcoin on: November 08, 2016, 06:56:57 PM
I think at the momentgovernments of many countries simply close their eye to the problem Bitcoin issue and taking tax from them. Because, as I understand it, it is impossible to track that the wallet belongs to you.
but i think if they have closed their eyes on bitcoin then how can they impost tax on bitcoin, first they have to declare bitcoin as legal currency and only then they can impose tax on bitcoin.
Unfortunately that is false. Technically if you found a diamond ring today you would owe taxes on it. At least in the U.S. ALL your income is taxable. No matter what it is or how you got it or what it's worth. Simply ask your tax preparer instead of a random Internet forum.
1411  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Want to sell 2 BTC for 680USD each on: November 08, 2016, 06:40:39 PM
I can show all the details that I'm not a fraud. Also I do use localbitcoins for your info. So please think before you judge. Thank you!
So... is that a yes on the escrow?

What do you think lol

Same shit different username - newbie scammers need a routine

An account created today looking to use anonymous tools to do a transaction worth over $1200.  Sounds legit!  Roll Eyes
1412  Economy / Economics / Re: why is it so hard to buy bitcoin on: November 08, 2016, 06:30:48 PM
bitcoin is meant to be pseudonymous not buying it and paying with fiat!!!

That really is the answer. You can do what you want with bitcoin, but fiat currency is only yours to use under the terms and conditions of the actual owner. In the U.S. that owner is the federal reserve, not you.

Anyone else feel like me after voting today?

1415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin GEOCACHE in Iceland FREE money!! GAME STILL ON!! on: November 08, 2016, 05:12:49 PM

Well, there are only around 300.000 people living in Iceland, so I'm guessing there's only a handful of people actually looking and aware that this exists.

In a few weeks or so, I'm thinking of doing something like this in my own country, Belgium. I think that one might even be found before this one Cheesy

Yes, not a lot of people on the island. However there is at least 1 huge bitcoin mine within a few kilometers of the cache.

Will the caches value increase over time if no one finds it?  I like the idea and wish I could get out there to see the beautiful landscapes, amazing photos!   Smiley
As long as bitcoin value rises it will go up. Even if it goes up very high I will leave it there until 2018. If no one claims it by then I will assume the ocean has claimed it.

Great idea, how did this fall on your mind to do? Do you just wish to spread the word, or there is some deeper meaning in all this? Maybe you own the shop or cafe that accept bitcoins, so these people will come to your place most likely.
Anyway great thing, I respect your words, at least they will learn about bitcoin if they didn`t know for them before, and they can enjoy playing your interesting game I can say.
Thank you for your kind words. I just like promoting bitcoin. I get nothing back except being part of this revolution in finance. I just thought it would be a fun game.

Could see some one flying over to Iceland now that we have more flights heading there from Canada.
Once the upward tick of bitcoin becomes more evident the rush should happen, interesting no one has picked it up though.
If you fly Iceland air to Scandinavia they have a great deal on a stopover in Iceland, I think it's free. Even if you had just a short layover you could reach this spot with a 5-10 min. cab ride.
1416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Bitcoins have Tax?? on: November 03, 2016, 03:31:41 PM
Bitcoin has no tax because it is not regulated and under the custody of the government. We are independent here and we have all the freedom to do whatever we want with our bitcoin.  NO tax is good as more income equals more money.
That's a lovely sentiment. But completely incorrect. You may want to talk to your tax preparer before you get hopelessly in debt over your capitol gains taxes. Remember that all transactions are recorded forever.
1417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin GEOCACHE in Iceland FREE money!! GAME STILL ON!! on: November 03, 2016, 03:27:55 PM
60 days and no one picked up this money yet. As I write this the cache is worth over $80!

1418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be blocked too by the government or isp ?? on: October 29, 2016, 05:39:51 PM
Governments can block you from using bitcoin just like they block you from:
Gambling - They can and have multiple times. Remember Fulltiltpoker.com, Absolutepoker.com, Ultimatebet.com and UB.com?
Porn - no one cares or tries.
Music piracy - They can and have multiple times. Remember Limewire, Demonoid, Kickass Torrents, Torrent-Finder, OnSmash.com, DaJaz1.com?
Joining a terror group - I can join the gay nazi's for hitler, that doesn't mean shit. Let's talk about drone strikes instead.
Creating a fake facebook account - Why would the government give a shit about that dude? They probably have more fake facebook accounts than anyone does.
etc...
In other words, they can't can and have.  Wink

Sites I've visited recently:

...
...

If Bitcoin came under attack from the government kiss that mainstream to the moon bullshit goodby. There is no way a payment system can be even slightly useful if under government attack. Hiding in a dark room, running TOR, and biting your nails is not the way most people want to shop on Amazon. LOL
My point is you still can do any of the banned activities. And trying to shut down a distributed network vs. a website is much, much harder. Lastly there are no legal grounds for an attack nor any suggestion of a will to do so; nor any method by which to accomplish it. We won brother.  Smiley
1419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if BTC was Banned? on: October 28, 2016, 05:49:09 PM
Let's find out if it can be banned!

Ok guys, bitcoin if now banned!!!!!!! No more using it. I mean it guys, stop using it or else!

Hey, I see on block explorer that many transactions are still happening. Didn't you hear me? STOP USING BTC! I banned it and now you can't use it anymore.

S#!t, another block! WTF I banned it and you simply must obey! STOP STOP STOP it !!!! Waaaaa Cry

Guess not  Huh
