481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The need to control your emotions as a football fan. on: January 24, 2024, 06:37:24 PM

As gambler and a football fan, it most appropriate for you to always show a good level of emotional intelligence whenever results doesn't go your way, because that's the spirit of sportsmanship,
The results must not always go your way as a gambler, you will lose some and you will win some.

As we should. No one has guarantee of the result, that's why you gamble. As you gamble, you are betting also with your fortune and luck; part of this is to either lose or win. No matter how huge the difference with odds and handicap, only the result could tell things. With this, being preventive of your own emotions to get over you is the best thing as well as your discipline to the amount you are betting. A controlled bet would allow you to avoid regrets of losing huge money or satisfaction with the amount you will be earning after a winning bet; it might not be that much with what is everyone expecting but bottomline is that you earn profit from doing so. Efficiency is the key.
it is very unfortunate that the fans were unable to control their emotions which led to this unpleasant incident. even though it's quite annoying when your favorite team can't beat a trivial team, that's not an excuse to justify this dishonorable action, especially as ghana is one of africa's best national teams. this dishonorable attitude from its fans cannot be justified because it will affect image of the team.

fans should act normally and not overdo it when their favorite team loses because no matter what, all good or bad actions from fans will be related to the image of the team and that is why it is very important to be able to control your emotions as a fan.
That's part of the game; if you would win all the time, won't it be boring? It is normal to be frustrated especially if things did not go in accordance with what you desire but nothing will change; we just have to accept things and look forward for their next game. I believe it is one of our responsibilities as gamblers and as fans of the league. It will always be between the two; win or lose. Let us not be heartless to them just because things did not go well on our side. If they're your favorite team then prove it; favor them through ups and downs.
482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been able to win a game given to you in the dream? on: January 24, 2024, 03:52:17 PM
Nope, never had any dreams related to gambling. This might be because I am not thinking about gambling that much; I only gamble to kill time and for entertainment purposes. But I'n familiar with such instances wherein people are betting on numbers they saw on their dreams and happened to win the jackpot; hearsay's of such are most of the time associated with lotteries. I don't really know if it is true but one of my neighbor had the same experience however not the same outcome. She had a dream with a set of number and the next day as she watched the lottery result, she said those were the exact set of numbers she had on her dreams, unfortunately she wasn't too eager to bet on it which she regret afterwards. No one knows other than herself, if it is true or not. There is a possibility that it is just quite of an imagination of her given that no dream is too detailed based on my experience.
If gambling occurs in your dreams, it is already a very excessive gambling addiction. let alone dreaming of playing in a game and getting the jackpot, then you follow in the footsteps of that dream. It's not that we don't believe it, but don't do it because it's just a dream that we want.

Dreams can happen because we hope too much for victory and because we gamble too often.
I suggest that you regulate your gambling games more and don't expect too much from gambling. let everything flow like you should playing with your friends. After playing, our brain is finished with excessive thinking.
Sometimes it is because of frustrations. Everyone wants to be rich in an instant and gambling happened to be a "way" to make it possible but without guarantee; just a possibility. Livelihood is just so difficult nowadays that people are holding to what's less likely to happen. "It is free to dream of something" and that's valid. However we shouldn't be too hopeful to not focus on the present. Our fate is in our hands still and luck in our lives, is just a bonus, I believe.
483  Economy / Economics / Re: In times of Crisis and uncertanities toilet paper can be new currency on: January 22, 2024, 08:48:53 PM
Well, it is called trading and not really a currency; is it systemic? Does it have taxes? Are transactions of toilet papers traded being monitored? What about the total supply? These are just some of the characteristics which characterize a currency and it happened that toilet has none of it. It would be an arbitrage or agreement between two or more parties; everything's fine as long as everyone agrees but we cannot frce others to also do so or create your own system about its "assumed value". There was a time on the recent years wherein the shortage of toilet paper was broadcasted. But why did it end? 'coz demand simply depreciated along with other things which were being hold for a long period of time. Depends also with crisis; is it related to famine?
Is this being influenced by what happened during Covid lock down? Where everyone was rushing to the supermarket to grab as many toilet paper as they can? Well, I don't think that'll last If the crisis or disaster is greater and longer than Covid. Food and water are far more essential than toilet paper. Well, I get it, again it's because of what happened of the Covid lockdown. Toilet paper, isopropyl alcohol, face masks, and other disinfectant stuff price were skyrocketing due to huge demand, but no I don't think any of those can be a new currency in times of crisis. Again, food and water are far more essential. I'm used to getting my ass washed with water though.
Environment and culture depends on the country or location in general. And in mu country it was never felt simply because we have different way than with the elite ones so for sure there will be exclusion and inclusion factors you might not want to.
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Rebound This Week on: January 22, 2024, 08:12:01 PM
If it's this week then it is hard being optimistic of the market peice behavior for Bitcoin. Charts are bearish and no huge news to uploft the demand and trigger a pullback to $49k or even higher. So if you are one of those who are confused on when to enter, think of a market price that will make you satisfy regardless of the price movement. As we all know, no one has the assurance of when will recovery again take place. At least, if that's your chosen market price, and if you only invested a portion of your overall capital, then nothing will be a problem eitherway the price would go. It is a matter of being preventive; avoiding huge loss than chasing big profit. Its market price could again fall down to $20k if ever demand will decline but if not, $50k and above are possible.
According to data from the Coinglass platform, the current open positions in Bitcoin futures contracts have reached $17.582 billion.  CME holds the largest share at $4.769 billion, followed by Binance at $4.151 billion, and Bybit at $3.199 billion.  The substantial open interest across these platforms suggests significant market activity. So will Bitcoin rebound this week?

Bitcoin price can be unpredictable because it can be influenced by many economic factors. And most of these economic factors are also very difficult to predict. I never expected the price of Bitcoin to drop to this extent after the approval of the Spot Bitcoin ETF by the SEC. I was expecting the price to move to at least $50k but the reverse is the case now. I think the price will not recover this week and I also suspect that the price might keep depreciating until after the Bitcoin halving. As I earlier stated the price is unpredictable so a positive global economic outlook might make the price appreciate.
Can be? It will always be unpredictable since its market value is dependent solely with demand. Well indeed it is correct that demand is highly affected by several factors. I still believe that its market price is bullish and what we are seeing right now is just a price correction given that its market price had a continuous but huge price uplift. The market may recover in no time but for now wait for clearer signs of recovery and always check in between different time frames in particular with volumes.
485  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto: a place where everyone makes money, but few secure it on: January 22, 2024, 07:17:04 PM
I was reading coinconfessions, and it occurred to to me that most of those who are in crypto go through a phase where they make lots of money, but eventually lose it all or most of it due to wrong decisions taken due to having lack of financial knowledge.

Some start fresh with lessons learned and make it back, for some having huge unexpected money come and gone creates a downward spiral that they feel hard to get out of, almost like they were better off not having this unexpected wealth come in first place.

This means that the person is not ready to be rich. Many people who win the lottery suddenly become rich and end up being poor again because they are not ready to have a lot of money. It's not how much money we have but how we manage that money. That's why rich people go bankrupt. can become rich again, while poor people who become rich can become poor again, it's all about whether we are ready or not, that's what I think
It's not that they are "not ready"; it's more like they are not "responsible" with the money. You see, when a poor family or average family suddenly has a lot of money, for example, winning the lottery, what do they do or think first? Yes, the things they want are their desires and things that are not important, but because they can't afford them in the past, they will buy them. They will not think of securing the money first or how they can maintain the money or make the money grow. That is the common mistake of most people who get a lot of money instantly. They will not think of their future instead they will follow their desires as they want to experience the things that they can't when they don't have the money. We can't blame them. You will not be excited to experience the luxurious life right? But it is wrong to abandon the future.
Is there such thing as moment to be ready to get rich? Poor ones on what they can have with their money are still valid, that's their money in the first place. We're just having negative impressions simply because we are not in his achievement and we just became part of criticism. Once we are in that position, it will be hard with application. I myself is guilty of that; it is easy to set standards through words such as engaging to investments, buying franchises for my own. But once I got that money, for sure I'd be somewhat giving myself a treat for hardwork. But in this industry, things are a bit more complicated; as long as you are involved then expect that you  will always be at risk of loss. Not because you are here in this industry for years it would mean that you will never commit a mistake. You'd make money on frequent instances howeverif you will not be able to manage it properly then things won't be different.
486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Explain Bitcoin to A Second Grader in Four Sentences? on: January 22, 2024, 06:11:50 PM
First of all, Why?
What does a 2nd grader have to do with investments and this blockchain in the first place? Let the child enjoy things on his own and wait for his/her to develop their interest with their own curiosity and interest. Forcing things through will just be a waste of time and will not be something they will enjoy. Let us ask ourselves first, did we have such interest before? Or if you are a 2nd grader at this point with toys and play time on your mind, how will you react then? We do get the point which is to teach them about how investment works however there are better ways to do so such as associating his toys and things he's busy with, little by little. It takes time for our interests to things in parrticular to grow and that won't happen in a single night or two. It won't happen also just because someone told you to do so. Everything requires initiative and will. No number of sentences will be enough to push a CHILD to something they know nothing about and something that is not even applicable on their age. If we ourselves as adults are having a hard time then what more on their case?
487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Roller Coaster feeling When You Gambling on: January 22, 2024, 04:16:52 PM

An hour before going to a casino?

I only play on online platforms in particular with sportsbetting site/s. If it is before actually playing or logging in, the only feeling I am having is excitement of the chance orr tendency to win good amount and to enjoy the game more than just watching my favorite teams going against each other.

After logging in and pulling out the games you are about to play?

Same with while I'm playing; just excited. Will it be a winning bet? Have I done enough analysis of the match up? Should I bet more? Should I pull out my bet? These are the questions which come to my mind everytime I am betting online.

After you log out whether you win or lose?

Apologies but I just answer in general, just to lessen redundancy. I do experience roller coaster of emotions but only between highs and downs; excited and happy or just sad which rarely happens. Either I win or lose, I will still choose to be happy as long as my loss is within my tolerance. But at the end of the day, I am just a person having my own feelings; I still experience having regrets, and feelings of loneliness everytime I am losing huge. Frustration is of course part of it given that anything could really happen within the game. There are instances that we will be too confident of our analysis but luck will take place and just flip the tables in an instant.
488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: While placing bet what comes your mind on: January 22, 2024, 03:27:52 PM
The thing that comes into my mind when placing a bet is just acceptance that it could be a losing one in order to save myself from frustration and regrets. But likea usual gambler, I do have second thoughts of not proceeding with mu bet or instances that I wanted to increase or decrease the amount. It was just later that I am prioritizing to anticipate the negative outcome more which so far made things better. I now enjoy gambling more than mu early months in this industry since I was before chasing the win and profit but as we all know, things won't be going easily.
We all have adventurous thoughts in us that tells us to go beyond our risk limits to achieve greater results, although this thoughts can help us to achieve greatness, but it's not in every aspect. Gambling requires discipline and budget and if a gambler sticks to these methods he'll not be distracted by that inner adventurous voice inside, instead he'll stick to the plan and gamble the percentage that is budgeted for the bet. So the key factor for gambling should be to gamble responsibly and to achieve this is to have a budget for it and be disciplined not to exceed it.
We tend to have such thougts after the result; either regret of betting because it is a losing bet or regret of not going all out because it turned out to be a winning bet. I do practice deleting these reactions in every bet simply because it doesn't make sense and will just affect my next betting experience. If these thoughts are owning you everytime you are playing then just stop gambling because it won't let you enjoy playing. You should accept things right from the start that we don't have full control of results which are in accordance with what we want.
489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silly and scary questions, and what would you do if that were you. on: January 21, 2024, 08:07:12 PM
Practical answer is to let them have it and still be alive. Well, if you managed to gather a decent amount once, then you'd more likely be able to achieve it again. However, things won't work the way we would want it; imagine if the robbers has no plan of leaving you alive? For sure you would feel it by your own, therefore, in such instance I'd be fine just dying to lessen the casualty. You'd have a gut feeling of where you will be engaging yourself with. This is why it would be much better to just keep your mouth such from public audience. Posting and doing some flex on what you achieve is never a bad thing however be vigilant with your own actions for your own safety.

In the given scenario there are many possible outcome chances; it could be worse or just fine and that is for you to find out if ever you will be driving me and even with long period of time.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do i handle my first gambling experience on: January 21, 2024, 07:35:36 PM
Hello senior citizens and my fellow newbies gambler's, now I gat a straight forward question for you all.
How do I prepare myself for my first gambling experience?
What are the things I should expect as a first time gambler?
How do we react to my first gambling results be it winning or lose?
Thank you all for your helpful opinions.
Just some common ideas with how gambling should be done; set a mindset that greed will never be of any help and assume that losing will be always part of the game. Be preventive than chasing the win; it'll be a better trait in the long run given that losing is more likely to happen in most instances. Always have your awareness and consciousness of every gambling outcome; if you are continuously losing and already uncomfortable of what is happening, take a pause and don't wait for frustration to take place which would make the situation even worse. We've all been to our younger selves not only in gambling but also with other industries. It is simply the phase wherein we tend to be curious and interested to many things and it should be where precautionary measures should take place. Be confident as well and always know your boundaries financially, emotionally, and mentally to avoid going too much and just regret afyerwards. Gambling will not always be fun and all. Lastly, never be too careless whenever you are winning; always make sure to secure a portion of your profit and avoid greed.
491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Good sportsbetting content on: January 21, 2024, 06:16:17 PM
I prefer it with direct posta and not with content creators and such with involves influence of some personalities simply because there are casualties which could be encouraged as well particularly with youth who are more exposed with influencers nowadays. Atleast with direct posts of certain gambling pages, the audiences will be targeted and will not be generalized. Also this is to avoid biases; for sure we are all aware that some content creators are being paid to promote gambling sites with misinformations. No matter what we do to filter audiences from gambling contents, we won't be able to restrict all people we want to exclude but at least chances would be lessen.
~snip~

Yeah I was thinking of offering free picks although I don't normally straight bet games so not 100% sure if I will do it. I think for me it might be more of the strategy behind the bet, and not telling people what to bet. Thinking about doing all of the social media platforms, although tweaking the content to each and posting here.

Of course, sharing a bet and explaining the strategy behind it isn't recommending fellow gamblers to tail your picks. But just to save you the trouble, you can just put a disclaimer at the end saying it isn't a betting advice or tail at your own risk or something like that. But I guess it's something that might encourage some discussions especially since there certainly are other gamblers who are placing opposite bets. Lurkers and observers might end up fading rather than tailing. It's for them to decide.

Yeah that is smart, will had a disclaimer on the videos. Yeah everyone bets differently so I guess we shall see.
Does such thing really work? I am always seeing disclaimer from different videos on the internet but never bothered to comprehend what it says and there's a chance as well that meant to be excluded individuals are doing the same thing, but at least will still 'get' some of them with such message. Goal is to limited more people who are prone to gambling addiction. Gambling is inclusive to all but as we all know, not everyone could control their drives which is where problem arises.
492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Increased Gambling Risk for the Younger Generation on: January 21, 2024, 05:40:15 PM
With the easy accessibility of the online gambling sites and tools, the younger generation is more involved in gambling. The risk for them is not only that they will lose money but gambling at such a high rate and at the age of teenage will cause them a lot of problems like lack of physical activity or no interest in the studies as they will more inclined to get easy entertainment in the form of gambling.

The most effective way to address this issue is for the parents and teachers to play their part and convince the young generation the do and don't of gambling and how it can harm our personality and life if we are addicted to it.

Gambling risks are rising for young people

Informative teachings would help but will not guarantee avoidance of gambling; if there's a will then there's a way.  However, proper guidance could prevent them from going too far in gambling and that simply means opening their eyes on worse outcomes of this activity. Casinos are also making their own actions and I believe one of it is KYC procedure that most of the gamblers are avoidant of; for me it has its valid purpose so I just comply to it and so far I never encountered any problem at all. For strict family environments, then could track browsing habits and social relations of their child to at least lessen the exposure and tendency of gambling addiction.

Online gambling indeed gives opportunity to youngsters, therefore being preventive would be best. Have them being checked at least everyday to be aware of what they are doing and to correct things which are going out of your hands as a parent. We as older generations are aware of how gambling took our interests and that should be enough for us to take precautionary actions for our children. Gambling is not a bad thing in general, it is just one's mindset and intention which gives such color into it.
493  Economy / Economics / Re: richdad poordad has no more guide after achieving freedom on: January 21, 2024, 05:00:25 PM
so what is there to do? there is so many scammers out there what is richhdad poordad guide to proceed at this point? is there a handbook for thing like this?
What do you mean by this? is it related to privacy and security? I think not every person want to share 100% of his life and master in everything.

Most of rich people are good negotiators, it's not make sense for them to tell this in public. They might know how to differentiate between scammer and honest person, let's say they judge using body language, when someone did this or that, it's not genuine person and better to avoid such kind person in financial trade.

If they tell this to public, the scammer will learn how to being a genuine person.

that's right, usually with entrepreneurs and rich people, they don't give the full details of how they achieved their dreams and goals in life, Sometimes they don't even share the real reason and they just make up a different story so that other people don't imitate them, Especially now that fraudsters are scattered everywhere especially on social media.

I've encountered a successful individual before, and alike with most people, I also asked him what's his secret. He answered "nothing", at first I was a bit confused. But as to how I assessed things, he just became consistent of things and bit every opportunity that came to him until he get on that point of his life. There's really no secret other than will and consistency. Patience is a given thing which is applicable to everything, so there's no need to say. Some would say generational wealth is a factor which really makes sense but in the first place that's not their fault having such feat as long as they know how to utilize it for their own progress; what's bad is to just depend on it. Not all people has that, but most of the successful ones started with nothing and for me that is because they have bigger drive within them which pushed them althrougout.

When it comes with speakers and fraudsters, they will just use words we desire and expect to hear from them; words of encouragement won't mean anything if you will not act upon it. Everything depends on us; create a tree from seeds. Expect a long journey and never assume things will happen overnight. Learn and keep walking on your chosen path.

You will never be beaten as long as you don't surrender yet.
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on underdog by choosing a favorite spread to increase the odds. on: January 21, 2024, 03:26:23 PM
If it is by team win, I still won't do it, also I don't prefer spreads in sportsbetting. I would rather skip the match and wait for a better vision perhaps better match up I would be comfortable betting my money with. I would more do a bet build if there is an option to sports provider (not all websites have this feature). I don't have that much of a support to my claim but it is just that I am always considering the enjoyment over profit. I don't also chase bet count and more of quality bets than betting every game I would be seeing.
Does anyone here do the same?

For example, let's say there's a game tomorrow between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Indiana Pacers. The original betting spread is Indiana +2.5 vs Milwaukee -2.5. Let's assume their respective spreads have odds of 1.90, and you believe the underdog will win. Are you willing to bet on Indiana as favorites?

By saying favorites, I mean would you choose Indiana -2.5 with 2.50 odds, a little higher than the moneyline odds which is 2.23.

Yes would choose to bet on underdog especially if I know that the team is really doing well so most provably I will go bet on them. And in case of Indiana Pacers they have great chance to win since this young guys lead by Haliburton is doing good this season and have a chance to defeat those top teams on the league. Also its not rare situation that underdog team beat those strong team and their bettors is lucky enough to get a huge win for trusting their bets.

Milwaukee Bucks is strong team but sometimes they are not prone to losing that's why its good to gamble with that since it adds the exciting while watching this type of game especially you know that your team is way behind.

We might have a different analysis on betting an underdog team but for sure we are confident they will win. At least with the underdog winning and we are getting good odds, that's an extra winning compared to taking the odds that are 1.90 and below. Other might see it as a bad strategy, but it's not consistently picking the underdog, just choose the quality underdogs as that's the key on winning.
I only bet on mu favorite underdogs with odds above 2 'coz it would be worthy of taking the risk but that depends on the players line up; which is why I do follow team managements which works well for me so far. However most of the time I am engaging with lower odds because it promotes higher chances of winning as expected by the majority. I just increase my bet but still under my tolerance to make sure everything's fine and that I will be able to enjoy the outcome no matter what.
495  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are your expectations for the few weeks after the halving period? on: January 20, 2024, 11:57:07 PM
If we would base from previous price charts, then it is obvious that market price increase did not happen during and few weeks after halving. High market price volatility occured before halving and almost a year after the event.
So many stories have been told. Some say it’s the months leading to the Halving that will be the bull run, some say it is going to be the halving, some also say that it will come later after the halving. What I see that all opinions have is that it will come anyways. So why not just make your investments and sit back with a pack of popcorn? It’s okay to speculate but don’t get too attached to these assumptions.
Well, logically that's the right thing but people are here wanting to maximize the profit in every price movement. Some sort of short term and long term investors; however most of the time those who are in profit are those who invest and just hold for a long period of time than those who are doing swing trades simply because it won't always be a winning trade given how unpredictable the market price of Bitcoin is. Speculations are only guidance but will never promote certainty of price movements; there'll be instances that these assumptions will be followed by the market itself and also instances that it'll go the other way around. Problem is with people who pushes things too much. No matter how good you are as a trader or investor, with Bitcoin's market price movement, no one has the guarantee of it given that there are numerous factors affecting its market price movement under demand.
496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: January 20, 2024, 11:26:45 PM
I'd be mad for sure because stealing is already a bad thing and if it was used in gambling then that adds intensity to the thing he has done. But to properly address the issue on his end, I would first determine why he came to a point that he needs to steal; is the drive too much already? When did he start to gamble and who influenced him? It will always be starting from the roots or causes of an existing problem. Rather than scolding or hitting him physically, try to at least communicate especially if his age still doesn't give him the initiative to do so; do your responsibility as his parent and as an adult. If things won't be handled properly, then it has a tendency to get worse, perhaps stealing from other people.

Many of us would be guilty of getting some dimes from our parent's purse without their approval but on my end I used it before with candies and not in gambling activities, which I guess makes it different and makes it worse. Tendency of addiction is being observed in such cases that a child, at a young age, knows how to steal and has an intention to use it in gambling which is even illegal to many countries.
497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: January 20, 2024, 11:10:51 PM
Patience is a crucial thing in gambling and I think it is because gambling involves money which makes gamblers impatient sometimes. Perhaps you are having a rough day such as 4/10games within an hour of playing. Being patient means taking a short break to at least calibrate your mood than to push things. Another example is needing to borrow money just to gamble instead of waiting for your salary and just using a portion of it on your bets. These things might sound practical and simple but some people are already struggling to do so. If you'll ask them, they will more likely say that they did those 'coz they want to earn profit from gambling. The drive created in gambling by our own expectations is making us inpatient over things given how thrilling it is to earn profit from this industry.
The game of gambling isn't something that people with low patience can survive be it the different types of gambling @sports betting  @casino games like dice and slots, patience is still the key to survive. Sometimes anxiousness and anxiety can make a gambler take decision that he might end up regretting.

Today I experience this ill feeling although am okay now but I thought I should share my experience and thought with some of the gamblers here to see if we are on the same page.

I made a very wrong decision on a game I staked today and this is unlike me because I don't normally check on my games until its settled because sometimes you will tempted with some crazy things like cash-out which is what I did today and although you won't blame me to some extent but still if I was patient enough as the final results if the games came through and Instead of winning the whole money, I got only a fraction of the funds.
We all have those moments of being in a rush and I believe you have your own reasons to do so. Then at least your actions are acknowledged by you already which means you've learned already in order to do better next time. The thing to consider on your case is that you still bagged an amount, although not the whole but at least you are in profit for that game. On my end I tend to just enjoy the games I am playing and just seeks for cashout at the end of the day.
498  Economy / Economics / Re: Reasons for personal financial accountability? on: January 20, 2024, 10:40:07 PM
I think, when growing up, everyone must be responsible for their own personal finances. It comes from many reasons, circumstances, and age that it becomes more important such as: managing spending, building Stable life, have a budget to reserve for risks of life events, and future orientation. When you have a family and children, this issue becomes even more important. I have a family, 2 sons and everything for me needs to be managed, mixed with my finances.
A family is a next level kind of accountability which is where proper management of finances would matter more, I do acknowledge your hard work for your family on giving their daily needs. It is a mix of responsibility and accountability; there'll be times you will be setting aside your personal interests just to provide them what they need. I hope you and your family are doing good.

So for the youngsters over here, be sure to know how to handle your finances well. I myself would probably choose not having a family of my own not until I reach financial stability. But things do happen; if you guys have it already then avoid not being practical and logical with household's cashflow.
It seems that the op is suggesting financial self-accountability because a person is making an assessment of oneself here. But when I google financial accountability, it is, of course, about being accountable to others when performing financial tasks.
The op mentions potential benefits and a few tips, but no details on how it could look like. Is being aware of how much you earn, how much you spend, and what were your biggest purchases on a monthly basis enough to say that a person is financially accountable? Does financial accountability require setting and achieving goals, or can it be just about analysing spendings?

Financial accountability like op has made it look, he is talking about an individual being responsible in his spending , to be sure that they are spending money rightfully and not extravagantly.

Yes it is enough to say someone is financially responsible and accountable to himself if he has mapped out from his income how much to be used in spending for different expenses like feeding, shelter, clothing, fun etc. If you are not financially accountable, you won't be able to put in shape the percentages of how much you want to spend for a certain period including making budget for it.
If it is with necessities on properly managing finances, then adjustment should be done with the amount of money going on your bank, daily and monthly. We should not make the adjustment on where it is being spent as long as it is necessary to live and just focus on making your daily and monthly income, bigger through investments?

Like some sort of pushing things just to invest? Well yes, it is a good idea but never expect anything less than struggle. The reason why it would be best to invest an extra money is for daily necessities. Imagine being able to invest in Bitcoin but suddenly needing money for food or hospital expenses. You need to have a 'margin' on the amount you are planning to invest and amount you will be needing to live. Let's say you were able to put a huge amount in your wallet from this industry then you happened to have an emergency or that you will be needing urgent money. This is, I believe, the most common instance an investor is pulling out his assets which sometimes result to complete loss because the chance of earning profit from holding was also cut  by that time. So what's the right thing? Save and invest. It would be much better in the long run to only do things properly. If you will go all in to an asset you'd be always at the edge which will for sure make you uncomfortable and probably not a good investment outcome or journey.
500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The worst situation you're in that you regret that you learn about gambling on: January 20, 2024, 03:43:27 PM
Rhetorically; betting and losing money that I borrowed. It did not happen to me and will assure that I won't be in such situation but it will only be the only instance I will regret my involvement in this industry. I've been into huge loss before but here i am still, simply because the amount I am using is just a portion of my salary. However, nothing's regretful in gambling. We just tend to be in despair and regrets because we suffered the negative outcome or consequence but will celebrate if it is the other way around. That's just how gambling works; you bet on your luck and check if it will be in favor or in accordance to your will. Best thing to do is to engage an amount you can endure losing so at least if it is a losing bet, you'd still function normally and will not be affected that much.
he cares for what his friend would think and that's enough for him to go to rehab as suggested by that friend.  he is lucky to have a friend who didn't get mad for what he did because not many people will think that way. spending someone else money on gambling is already a clear sign that a person needs help. if it gets worse, robbing someone at gunpoint is not unusual for a gambling addict. i have not been to such a situation thank godness.
Indeed a serious condition especially if it did not only happen once, and must be checked by professional if that's the case. It just showed that he would risk anything given that it is not his property in the first place, so what more if he owns it? Self discipline has a simple concept but it is something crucial. The thing which makes it complicated is the involvement of money which generates enough drive for an individual to increase his risk tolerance and to gambling continuously without thinking of the worse possible outcome.
