If a company holds assets totalling < 13000btc how can it be valued > 8200btc? Am I an idiot or is everyone else an idiot?

The market expects that they will burn the money with zero results. Your equation would make sense if this would be a usual stock market company and the stockholders could vote for a dividend and payout the assets. But that's not how it works.

Curious if marketcap will go below 10mio$.

i see GNT down to 1.8k now, do we have any news for it?

that just an aftermath of the brass-delay
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XEL] Elastic Project - The Decentralized Supercomputer on: March 01, 2017, 01:11:43 PM

Regarding exchanges and nodes running on exchanges: Wouldn't it be possible to have a node that is detached from any work done and just uses basic functionality like receive/send? Why is it necessary that an exchange also processes XEL-jobs?

Simply because that's the current design that's in git.

We'll have to wait to hear back from EK but your proposal may be a quicker/easier solution for exchanges than trying to rush the SN work.  But unlike most here, I'm not concerned about launching or getting on exchanges...I am more interested on what is the best solution for xel to be able to work as a decentralized super-computer.

I get that and agree.

Edit: Eventually its a possibility to release in several stages? Like Ethereum does for instance with Metropolis or Homestead.

Stage 1 = "Elastic C64"

Stage 2 (adding SNs) = "Elastic Amiga"

Congrats to DASH! As someone who took part in the early days and left sometime in between i have to say it really makes me happy to see the project finally getting the attention and appreciation it deserves!

Where are all our bear friends from that time? No more Lambi?

Prost!
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XEL] Elastic Project - The Decentralized Supercomputer on: February 27, 2017, 10:04:21 PM

i will try to fire up some nodes. maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow.

I guess we need to get the supernodes ready first. I mean we can all upgrade our nodes to the latest version, but except for the standard functions (sending XEL, redeeming, blah), serious testing will not be possible.

Coralreefer and me, we are right now figuring out what needs to be done ... the specs are the most important part now. Meaning (maximum worst case execution time, maximum runtime in seconds, etc.)

If you like, I can update the amazon EC nodes tomorrow so you can start playing with the current version. But you will hit a point, where the supernodes will become necessary to go to the next testing level.

Also, I will try to write down everything tomorrow, so the PR guys have some more information. If the days only had more than 24 hours.  Wink

Allright, makes much more sense to wait for green light then.

@EK

Great work!

But i have to say i am bit worried about the SN and GN stuff, it adds lots of complexity and with complexity you get attack vectors. But lets see, now we have that toy so lets play around with it!

Another thing that gives me question marks is the hard coding of the GNs as it basically makes our solution quite centralized. If we choose the GNs by our trust in xyz then we kinda outplay our efforts to make a decent decentralized computer. So the question is: Could there eventually be a better way of choosing the GNs? Eventually GN that need a small amount of XEL? I am always lookin with one eye at Dash and how they solved this issue with their Masternodes.

it would be great if all would update to newest version so we can do some proper testing? @unvoid @ImI.. i did it but no peer connection still.. any active peer i can use for my config? thanks EK for amazing work so far. time to activate skynet  Cool

When Elastic mainnet will be live?

On Judgement Day, when we reach singularity and the machines rise from the ashes of the nuclear fire!

Anyone know how this compares to Golem?

Also 141 sat/B reichen nun och schon nicht mehr? ... Da fragt man sich echt, 10 Blöcke schon her.

10223 is bottom? I don't think so.
But ok let's add:

D. 10223 is bottom

I vote for B - in 3 days.
10000 for bottom.

i fucking hope this is the bottom.  or we can all cry together... hard to watch max, hard to watch.

rule #1 in investing: don't throw all your eggs in one basket. maximum maybe 10%. if invested like 50% into Lisk you made a BIG mistake.

rule #2: don't cling for too long at a failing project. accept your loss and misperception and move on.

that doesn't mean though that now is the time to sell. with all that cash at hand and a marketcap of 12mio$ and a sentiment that is very negative Lisk is most likely a HOLD at the moment.
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: OTC - Buy and Sell Elastic Coin Thread (XEL) - Always use escrow on: February 26, 2017, 05:11:31 PM

Imo its not bad to have such a thread in the Marketplace subforum, the other thread is in the Speculation subforum.
ok- true

I sell 17500 XEL for 20K each
why so cheap ? There was a guy wanted to buy 20,000 XEL for 30,000 Waves, that's about 30,000 Satoshi per XEL.
Just FYI
I think this is a fair price and win/win. I think at the moment there is nobody who would pay more. Maybe this will change when we hit exchange and buyers are realising that there are no cheap XEL

Fair price is 2000 satoshi because it is 2.5 times more expensive than ICO, but Bitcoin tripled. It makes profit of 7 times.

"Fair price" has nothing to do with ICO price. Its a big mistake to think that a project that trades at 2x ICO is a better investment than a project that trades at 20x ICO. Its a useless factor in approaching a price. All that matters is marketcap in comparison to similar projects. So go and have a look at coinmarketcap.com and then make up your mind where you would put Elastic in this row of projects.

Me personally would say: We start at a marketcap of 5mio$ and with time and exchanges we climb up the ladder.

I would suggest to open a new thread that is self-moderated. Its much more handy to be able to delete spam once this thing gets going.

Sure, you are just jealous here. Someone who failed ICO or someone sold ICO funds at cheap or someone who suppose the project that already sold out ICO funds at cheap.

What should someone possibly be jealous here? Seriously. Its quite the opposite, one could feel compassionate for anyone holding Lisk tightly for the last 10 months.
