481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ☃☃☃ New Crypto Idea! ☃☃☃ on: December 14, 2017, 04:06:07 PM
One thing I personally don't like about Crypto is how wasteful it is when it comes to resources like electricity and man hours.

Mining costs play a large roll in the end value of Crypto. The more resources destroyed in mining, the more digital currency that is created

I think this is very backward. Instead of destroying resources to make a new currency we should be protecting resources and awarding those who help to save the planet. What if there was a Crypto that wasn't backed by asset destruction?

We could essentially incentivize people to do good things by awarding them crypto. Instead of going to a "job" you can decide how to spend your time. Anything that could be considered not environmentally friendly could be a debit. And everything that is beneficial to the planet/saving the world could be a credit. People could have freedom to live their life more to the fullest and technology could gradually replace most "jobs".

Basically what I am trying to say:

What if there was a way to create crypto based on saving resources rather than based on destroying resources

That isn't backward thats how this world has always worked. Ever heard that energy can neither be created nor be destroyed. So benefits or say energy in form of electricity has to be wasted to create a new energy called this digital currency. Ever thought how much paper and cotton does fiat currency wastes? or how much electricity or man hours do banks take to work? You can't create something out of anything except its magic.
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google results show more people searching for Bitcoin than gold on: December 13, 2017, 09:37:28 PM
Yeah. Thats yet another achievement for bitcoins. Atleast people have realized that gold isnt real money. But I have always considered gold and bitcoin as two absolutely separate things. As gold is somewhat more of an asset while bitcoin struggles to be a currency.

484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin sending fees... are you serious? on: December 13, 2017, 09:06:14 PM
I haven't sent btc in a while.  Back when i sent btc, fees were less than 50 cents.  Maybe 3 dollars?  I went and tried to send less than 30 dollars of btc... fees show up as 12 dollars on electrum and thats with the lowest possible fee where i make it send within 25 blocks.  Now if you want to send under 1 dollar, it cost 12 dollars.  When is this issue getting fixed?  Who in their right mind would send btc for small amounts when even the fee is that much?  Its like paying 12 dollars for something you want to buy that is 1 dollar?
There are two major reasons involved in such upsurging fees. One is the price of bitcoin which is increasing everyday so every satoshi is becoming more and more valuable. Second major reason is mass adoption. As more and more people are coming over the network the traffic is increasing so the fees is increasing for miners to keep track of such transactions.
485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: THE WOLF OF WALL STREET explains why bitcoin is a bubble on: December 13, 2017, 08:57:13 PM
Jordan Belfort aka wolf of wall street had an interview on CNN where he was talking about why bitcoin and all the cryptocurrency are just a bubble that is gonna burst and warned everyone of the risk of investing in it. the video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsaU4-AUW2Y

Yet another stock market giant after warren buffet and JP morgan exclaiming that bitcoin is a bubble. The interview itself is based on unlogical explanations. These stock market giants are just afraid that the world would move towards a crypto society where they aren't really the big whales any more so they resist change.
486  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: South-Korean authorities considering taxes on virtual currencies on: December 13, 2017, 08:50:49 PM
I think that more taxation of the cryptocurrency will only lead to the fact that users begin to withdraw their capital from the country. Taxes cannot be collected forcibly. Remember the situation when France raised taxes on the rich. They all began to withdraw capital from the country. Who will benefit from this?

I don’t think so. The ones able to withdraw their capital from the country are the very rich one. The vast majority of users will have to pay tax if they trade. I live in a country where we have to pay capital gains tax and what most people do is just to pay tax. I personally hold my bitcoins, so I don’t have to pay yet. But the only way I can avoid paying tax in the future is to become so wealthy that I am able to move to another country, which I think it is very unlikely, even if bitcoin reaches $500.000.

Bear in mind that the only way to cash out large amounts of bitcoin converted into fiat is to make a transfer to your local bank account. In fact, it is the only way if you just want to cash out like more than $10.000. Prepaid anonymous debit cards have a limit of 1.000 € for non-verified users.

still quite confusing to me that how will they propose to tax bitcoin earnings? I mean you can tax those people who convert it to fiat but how in the world will you tax those who haven't realized it in fiat. The long term HODLers? They are the ones who are earning the most of the profits. The private keys are anonymous no one can tax a private key saying it belongs to Korea.
487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big Bank Warns of “Bitcoin Crash” in 2018: Here’s Why It Seems Doubtful on: December 13, 2017, 08:47:37 PM
Deutsche Bank sees the possibility of a Bitcoin crash in 2018, but we have reasons to support why this fear is overexaggerated.
Deutsche Bank has released a list of 30 possible events that pose a high risk to investors across the world in the coming year. A few of these include high inflation in the U.S., the Russian presidential elections, and the bursting of housing bubbles in Canada, Sweden, and China.

More Detail Here... profitconfidential.com
Its just a fear based on an ideology that bitcoin crash might affect investors largely. It does not gives any evidence as to the fact that bitcoin will crash soon in 2018. I think 2018 is too soon to say that bitcoin can crash. Its not known to a great part of world.
488  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Help, noob here... on: December 12, 2017, 05:33:27 PM
Your fee is a bit too low but it don't should take much more from now, wait a little more and you will get the payment.

I regret my low fee gamble Smiley I tried adding extra fee but CPFP wasnt possible as I'm the sender. There's no other option on mycelium.
Yeah mycelium somewhat offers limited option. Tried rebroadcasting the transaction? If this doesn't work then probably you would have to wait for about a week or so until the miners are ready to accept transaction with such low fees or until the transaction expires (which might take about a week) and the money would get back into your wallet. Generally private pool accelerators work fine they charge a small fees but its worth spending such fees.
489  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Help, noob here... on: December 12, 2017, 05:24:20 PM
Thats a quite low fees. Try the various transactions accelerators if they don't work then all you can do is wait for sometime. Usually transactions which keep on lingering in the common pool end up being canceled. You can even try rebroadcasting transaction. I haven't found any option to delete it on mycelium nor can you send it again  with high fees because mycelium doesn't supports it. All you can do is wait I think.
490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fees on: December 12, 2017, 05:15:08 PM
Bitcoin network fee is at like $34 right now.
When will they go back down?
This has been a routine thing of BTC. Moment the price begins to rise the network fees booms along with it. Regular transactions demand more than 250Sats/byte. I am eagerly waiting for lightning network which would drastically reduce the transaction times and fees involved. This increasing fees is making btc more  of an investment and asset than a medium of exchange
491  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is it illegal for someone to hack my BTC wallet? on: December 12, 2017, 04:09:19 PM
I'm not clear on this one point.  If somebody got a hold of my private key and moved funds from an address that I claimed on the ledger, is that against the law?  At what point could that be considered a crime?  For example, if they hacked into my machine and stolen the private key; if they sniped the pk while snooping on a public access connection; brute forced the pk into existence; or just plane snapped a shot of my qr code over my shoulder....ect  In which of those examples could I pursue prosecution for the theft of my coin?
Yes ofcourse its illegal and any person whom you don't allow access to your money takes access in any unethical manner would be illegal. But problem is which country's law is going to give you shelter in such a crime. I dont know any country which pertains any law regarding bitcoin theft. Moreover private key doesn't has any owners name affixed with it. So it will be a heck of problem for you to claim that these btc were actually yours.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves now at 13 USD massive growth, new all time high and people miss it. on: December 12, 2017, 03:57:36 PM
Well I am the most unfortunate person here. Sold around 100 waves 2 weeks ago at a price of $8 just after earning a meager profit of 20%. I thought its all for now and now waves could bleed but my misfortune that it went over $13 today. Moreover the graph and recent news says that it will still climb the charts so people who are thinking its saturation point for waves are certainly wrong.

495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] VLB - The Ultimate Blockchain Fuel for the Vehicle Lifecycle Industry on: December 04, 2017, 05:00:06 PM
when add vlb in exchange??

We are actively negotiating with top-5 cryptocurrency exchanges. We can not influence the exchanges in terms of timing, but we do everything so that tokens will be listed as soon as possible after the ICO.

and ether delta will be surely listed ^^ hehe

this is the alpha and omega exchange for all erc20 tokens Smiley

but it's got terrible functionality and very un-user friendly. I hope it goes to hitbtc.
Considering the kind of superfluous response it has received in the first two phases of the sale I think this token is turning to be one of the best ERC-20 token investments of this quarter. With a great project in hand I think some big exchange will surely accept to list it.
496  Economy / Speculation / Re: After the BTC future market opens on Chicago Exchange,Bitcoin price up or down? on: December 04, 2017, 04:56:56 PM
It's coming soon in the next a few weeks. And also the Nasdaq exchange may begin to offer Bitcoin futures as early as June 2018.
There are 7 hard forks of BTC this month as well, following Eth forks early next month as well.
Do you think more wall street power will be involved in the BTC market and maybe some of them will short on BTC price to make a profit?
Bitcoin has smashed upto 11500$ today and watching the list of upcoming adventures I think this Christmas is surely going to be a roller coaster for bitcoin but yes considering the fact that it has already boomed to such an extent since the last two to three months makes me in doubt whether such a thing would really happen or not. There is a huge list of upcoming forks but none of them looks worthy enough. Nor do I know of any big exchange which is supporting any of the forks its going to be interesting to see the reaction of market.
497  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why do people hate segwit so much? on: December 04, 2017, 04:48:22 PM
Politics and the need to have the Core developers out. Some say it was because it would render Bitmain's Asic boost useless, and all other reasons that distracted us away from the truth. But I believe it was politics.

I will leave Achow and the rest more learned about the situation to comment.
People would say a lot many things about it but so far what I have learned about segwit2x it is just going to promote the use of bitcoin by reducing the transaction size, time and fees. But half of the world was against it because they actually did not know about it properly. In this crypto world people very quickly just follow the steps of the top members of community rather than using their own brains. Like if one of the core miner would say its not good around 5% of the community would declare this to be not good. Same happened with this too. Miners gave their support to this venture in beginning and snatched that as we moved closer to that block because they knew it would burn a hole in their own pocket by reducing the fees. People blindly just followed the pattern and here we are today still using the same old pattern by faying a lot hefty fees.
498  Economy / Economics / Re: do you think bitcoin is controversial ? on: December 04, 2017, 04:39:53 PM
Bitcoins have been controversial since their inception. But the difference today is that people on the favouring side of this controversy are enough today to fight off the side against it. Every coin has two sides and bitcoin is no different. One needs to understand that bitcoin comes with its own disadvantages. Considering its demerits today there is no way that it could ever be useful as a currency. It has now merely become an assset for investment so I don't think govts. need to worry about it much.
499  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the market looking all red today? is correction near or what? on: December 04, 2017, 04:36:20 PM
Its been quite a routine of cryptos. One day you will see whole market booming with green tickers everywhere while the very next day you will see the coins bleeding out all of their accumulated gains. This is the very reason that crypto market isn't everyone's cup of tea. You either have to be a big expert who can predict each dozy and hammer or just a superfluous personality who doesn't care losing his bucks one day to gain them back the very next day.
500  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin Legality in India on: December 04, 2017, 04:27:27 PM
Will bitcoins be recognized by the Indian Government ?

Bitcoins are already legalized by the Indian government just few months ago and most of the Asian countries are started to legalizing bitcoins after India made bitcoin legal in their country. The current president of India want to go cashless economy so they are encouraging all their countries in India. And If you want to buy bitcoins in Indian currency you can buy them st localbitcoins.com because one of my friend from India trading bitcoins through localbitcoins exchange and Indian traders giving us best offers for us than other parts of world.

Your facts about legality of bitcoin in India are wrong buddy, bitcoin is still not been legalized in the country though it has not been illegal yet so people are using it.and to add zebpay is most trusted app to buy and sell bitcoin in India,it demands all of the your documents too
First of all I would like to tell you all that just today our honourable Finance Minister has come with a statement discussing legality of bitcoin and clearly expressing that India does not recognizes bitcoin as legal nor does it has any intentions to do so. However certain recommendations and provisions related to bitcoin are in making.

This statement clearly explains that Bitcoin is not perfectly going to be legal across the country however also clearly depicts that government are not expressly using the word "Illegal". Indian Govt. recognizes the importance of bitcoin. India has been receiving the most of outsourced services from United States and other countries. Most of these exported services are reimbursed in Bitcoins. So if India bans bitcoin the services sector could shake a lot.

Moreover the world's top countries have still not made any preposition regarding bitcoin and I think this is what is constraining India from making any statement regarding it. While countries like Japan and New Zealand are favoring it a lot. Countries like USA and China have no specific intentions of banning it. India doesn't really wants to get added to the list containing countries like Morocco and Zimbabwe. So most probably yes it will be recognized.
That is quite a valid point but India is a country which these days is fighting with its full strength against problems like money laundering and tax evasion. In between this we see a cryptocurrency which gives you anonymity of identity. How can one even expect India to allow its people to trade bitcoins? If this happens the amount of black money into it will take a whole new level. Even banning purchase of bitcoin in cash would not be enough as one can easily purchase it in cash from other people or indirectly using foreign currencies. Its whole lot of confusion and I think that is why India is silent on the question of cryptocurrencies.
