4802  Economy / Lending / Re: 0.07 BTC, REPAY 0.082 BTC on: April 17, 2019, 10:45:59 PM
Am seeking a loan of 0.07 for my son's medical bill, anyone willing to fulfill i'll forever be grateful. Am also open to terms.

Loan Amount: 0.07 BTC
Loan Purpose: Medical Bill
Loan Repay Amount: 0.082 BTC
Loan Repay Date: May 15,2019
Type of Collateral: 0.5 Eth
Bitcoin Address: 3BWHuwUgrCaXw3RENQSYfQm2DSKAywUpmq

Your collateral is only worth about BTC0.016, and will qualify you for a BTC0.013 loan from most lenders.  I would assume your son's medical bills are more pressing than that 0.5 ETH, so I suggest you sell that for what you can get and try to settle the rest of your son's medical bills over time.
4803  Economy / Lending / Re: DireWolfM14's Crypto Lending Service - BTC & ETH Loans on: April 17, 2019, 09:39:08 PM
I could have waited a week or 2 before applying, found some Merit sellers to meet your requirements, asked for a loan and got it.

Like suchmoon pointed out, you have earned 0 merits, so you would have bought 50 merit points just to apply?  You must realize I can still deny you a loan even if you meet all the criteria to apply, right?
4804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ESCROW SERVICE NEEDED URGENTLY on: April 17, 2019, 07:53:07 PM
Will hold ETH collateral

If this is for a loan, I suggest contacting DarkStar_.  He's provided escrow for loans in the past.
4805  Economy / Lending / Re: DireWolfM14's Crypto Lending Service - BTC & ETH Loans on: April 17, 2019, 07:33:00 PM
Perhaps DireWolfM14 should be more specific but I think he expects a signed message.

That's correct.  I prefer to have the application signed with an address that was staked some time in the past, even for secured loans.  I've included an example in my OP, and here.  I hope this eliminates any ambiguity.

Application has been signed with an address that was staked here.

@Batmanvsduecare, thank you for your request,  but I'm sorry, you do not qualify for a no-collateral loan from me.

I never said I earned those 100 Merits,I was also pointing that asking for a certain number of Merits in a certain time fram may lead to the creation of a Merit points market which will lead to more scams and do more harm than good.

I seriously doubt my little lending business is going to have any affect on the Merit Market.

And just to be clear; rank and merit requirements only apply to unsecured (no collateral) loans.  There is no rank or merit requirement for loans secured by collateral.

Hero member Sled has some suspicious activity in account's history.  There was a 4.5 month-long gap in post activity from November 4, 2018 to March 24, 2019.  On March 23, 2019 the account's password was changed.  The posts before the gap had some coherency to them, at least ideas were adequately articulated.  After the gap; word salad.

Earlier today the user requested a loan from Shasan.  Not a huge loan, certainly doesn't seem like an attempted exit scam, but none the less I figured it was worth warning folks to consider the possibility this may not be the original owner of this account.

There isn’t even an option to say he will repay on time.

Your optimism is noted, and should be revered.  But, statistically speaking most would put the odds of that happening at slim to none.
4808  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to publish Trust feedback publicly? on: April 17, 2019, 12:31:41 PM
Since a user has to be logged into the forum to see others' profiles and trust page, will that user's name and avatar be displayed at the top of the archived page?  That's the only issue I would have with archives allowing pages to appear as they do for me when I'm logged in.  Maybe your archiving tool can incorporate Suchmoon's stealth code.

As for whether it's allowed or not, I really don't know.  I noticed other forums of which I'm a member don't display trade ratings in "guest" mode.  There might be some privacy concerns for those who've left the feedback as well.

4810  Economy / Reputation / Re: So it is okay for Lesbian Cow (u= 206143) to break their auction terms? on: April 16, 2019, 09:34:26 PM
First things first: this thread probably belongs in Reputation, maybe Scam Attempts, but certainly not Meta.

Second, it doesn't sound like Lesbian Cow is breaking her terms, just modifying them to protect herself from your nonsense.
4811  Economy / Lending / Re: DireWolfM14's Crypto Lending Service - BTC & ETH Loans on: April 16, 2019, 09:16:27 PM
If you want a second set of opinions, your rates seem too high - they will attract more scammers than genuine requests. Especially for the collateralized loans. Just my opinion though.

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it some consideration.  I tried to position myself somewhere in the middle of the pack, but I'll do more research to confirm.

ETA: After giving it more consideration and looking at long term ROI, I decided you are right.  I've modified my interest rates.

I would suggest providing a unique address for each loan, so there is no question who a payment is from if two people owe you, say 0.05BTC exactly. I have found that many people tend to withdraw money directly from exchanges to my address when they are paying me. You can provide a signed message with a repayment address so the borrower can prove they paid you.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, that's not a bad idea.  I'll add the option for borrowers to request a unique address, it's all going to end up in the same Trezor account anyway.

Perhaps next time you will give yourself extra time to repay any loan you try to take out.

Next time he'll ask for two weeks and payback after three.  But if you do the math, that's only a 50% increase in load duration, not a 100% increase, so it's better, I think.  Undecided

The title of the thread is a bit misleading, and it scared me too.  My first thought was that you already were a merit source, and wanted to be removed from that status.

I'm glad I was mistaken, and that this is a merit source application, not an appeal.  Best of luck, you would make a good source in my opinion.

Are you going to still hodl BSV

If you mean still hodl-off from buying any, then yes.  Coins shilled by narcissists are dangerous, and even more so when shilled by narcissistic wales.
