4841  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-3-3]Millennial Investors Prefer Crypto Over Stock Exchange on: March 04, 2019, 02:36:51 PM
In a survey that was officially commissioned by eToro – the global investment platform, indicates an encouraging and fruitful future for Bitcoin as massive Millennials have a preference of crypto to fiat financial markets.

This is actually big for the future of cryptocurrencies. Since the technology is relatively new, it attracted to a newer audience that were more willing to invest their resource compared to the conventional investment instruments. People are starting to embrace and accept new methods in investing their money which can be the first platform towards then next generation of investors.

However, high barriers are stopping millennials from making bullish investments.

Learning about cryptocurrency can be difficult especially that the technology has been around for less than 15 years compared to other conventional investment options. Even financial experts are having a difficult time in accurately speculating the market trend as multiple factors affect its price.
Maybe once they are starting to earn cash, they may overcome this barrier in the near future.
4842  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you think crypto trading can help nation with no Job create jobs? on: March 04, 2019, 12:53:07 PM
Crypto-trading cannot be staple job as the source of income is relatively inconsistent compared to regular jobs. In addition, trading has made a reputation about about its risk being high compared to investing and it also requires an initial capital in order to start.
Although it fails to be categorized as a regular job, it CAN be a source of alternative income to people who have day jobs. The yield of profit may be high but the risk it carries can be a double-edged sword as well.

Bitcoin cannot create job for any country (can’t help any country to create job).

It has the potential to create jobs but the nature will not be focusing on investment nor trading. If there exist creation of an investment institution where you are required to be a financial expert or any relevant expertise that focuses on cryptocurrencies, then we can infer that bitcoin became the platform for this opportunity (although it requires a background on economics).
4843  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Vs Lotto on: March 04, 2019, 11:35:16 AM
An investment and a lottery ticket are two different things which cannot be compared to each other. One can relatively predict the price of an investment depending on the gathered research and data. Unlike a lottery ticket, it heavily relies on luck alone. I believe people mostly buy lottery tickets as a part of a daily/weekly ritual just to see if the odds are on their favour. The chances of winning might be significantly low but there's still a chance of winning.

I should invest in cryptocurrency that wasting my money on Lotto. It's very obvious that you can't win and control the game easily in the lottery. Instead of wasting time and money, you should invest in cryptocurrency

If he has the extra resource, why not purchase any lottery tickets? The chances might be low but one may never know until he/she tries it!

Ignorance of the law is not an excuse for someone to be exempted to the rules. The moderator needs to be fair and equal to all members and if theymos extended his exemption to you, then he needs to do to exempt other members who got banned from the same mistake as well.
Accept the fact that you got permabanned and from that alone, learn from your lesson and move-on. Life is short, make the most out of it by improving everyday!
4845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warren Buffet statement again on: March 03, 2019, 02:37:51 PM
i don't believe that he has the say about the current situation of crypto market. even without him, crypto is moving on and continue to grow day by day. he might have been quietly investing in bitcoin also or other altcoins. so we really don't know the truth here. most of the news that we read are superficial and we need to filter which one is really true or not.
this is the right news, you can see on CNBC, I think CNBC always directs Warren to make bad statements about BTC.

I do not believe he save assets in crypto, until today, I did not find news about that.

yes, without Warren, crypto will always create graphics, but every his bad statement is a virus and it can make the crypto world weak and even downtrend.

Unfortunately, that is the sad state in investing nowadays since most newbie investors purchased bitcoin impulsively without researching and studying the market. They now based their decisions on famous investors (which is not entirely bad!) and follow everything that they said despite the results showing the opposite of it!It definitely is a poison to the community which further backs away potential investors.

Warren Buffet statements stem from his belief that bitcoin does not have any innate value unlike the conventional method like what he did to built his empire. Every year, an era evolves slowly and we adapt to the inevitable change! Cryptocurrencies may be the future of investing considering the success it has been through.
4846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Unforgettable Gambling Stories... on: March 03, 2019, 12:00:32 PM
Let me share to you guys my most regrettable experience which made me despise gambling:

MY MOST REGRETTABLE EXPERIENCE:
We used to own a farm that contains full of chickens bred for fighting. Back when I was around 13 years old, my dad brought me and my brother to a cock-fighting arena since he has 4 fights scheduled. Before every round starts, there are two opposing sides called  A and B where each opponent fills the side. After that, people would bet on each other on which side would win. The lowest bet per round was around $10.

At first, I did not plan on betting my money since my dad gave me $10 as my birthday gift. But when I saw my older brother winning like 5 consecutive times, I got jealous and tried betting my $10 with hesitation. I prayed (hahaha the irony!) and asked God to bless me today as I am celebrating my birthday. Initially, I chose side A (since the chicken was tall and looked buffed) but my dad told me to bet on side B. Ultimately, I lost the bet and I gave my $10 to the stranger I betted with.

After my dad won 3/4 fights, we went home and I cried due to my frustration (my brother won a total of $100 from $10). I tried arguing that my dad was the one who betted on my behalf but they told me to NOT GAMBLE IF I CANNOT HANDLE THE LOSS AND WITHOUT EMBRACING THE CONSEQUENCE.

From this experience alone, I knew that gambling would never benefit me and in the long-run. It might have benefitted other people but I still believe that gambling revolves around luck. If the odds aren't on your favor, no matter what you do, you will lose and end up being frustrated!
4847  Economy / Economics / Re: the future real money on: March 03, 2019, 07:57:30 AM
Let's be patient  i think the people are not yet ready to adopt the future real money which is bitcoin and it seems fiat currency now is the
big deal and people are on fiat not crypto i think maybe 10 years we will see the adoption of it.
Hopefully barrier to development of bitcoin can be resolved soon, and later we can use bitcoin all over the world for transactions in daily needs stores. so that it will facilitate daily activities

We won't be seeing this being adapted in the near future as the barrier between first and third-world countries is tremendously large, especially in aspects like technology, infrastructure, and economic standpoint. Furthermore, first world countries are already devising a way of improving their current state of life by introducing revolutionary electronic payment methods (blockchain technology, etc.) and making innovations throughout their country.
In contrast, third-world countries prioritize multiple problems including ways to resolve poverty, corruption, infrastructure developments, transportation, etc.

From this viewpoint alone, the plans of first-world countries do not match with the priorities of third-world countries. If we adapt a full-scale shift to this kind of payment (where poor people lack access to the internet; let alone food, shelter, etc.), the price manipulation may happen making the rich richer and the poor, poorer.

Many people still not understand how to use digital e currency payment and make real cash money keep exist at the future, many time we got real cash money will be keep using by people forever and have easy to use it.
absolutely true and real money will never be lost in the presence of digital currency, because paper currency will continue to be used every day and digital currency will be used as an online transaction tool only

Digital payment can be an alternative but it will NOT replace fiat anytime soon until the economic discrepancies between first and third-world countries be resolved.
4848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to pay newbie with bitcoin? on: March 03, 2019, 05:31:32 AM
Besides coinbase if there's a local exchange on your country that supports bitcoin and other services like here in asia in my place (coins.ph) where people can use in sending and receiving bitcoin/money without precise knowledge in bitcoin though they still don't implement in paypal exchange but coinbase does AFAIK.

Second this. We are both using our local exchange and they provide various services in order to convert bitcoins to fiat easily. You might want to check your country if they implemented any exchange platform. Be wary of fees that might accumulate whenever you transfer your bitcoins from an exchange to a local wallet.

although i would suggest paying them directly with fiat since they have no idea what bitcoin is and want fiat right away!

This is indeed the most convenient way of paying him or you can also use paypal. If your purpose is primarily for payment, then sending him cash via electronic stores might be the best idea.
4849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Favoritism vs Addiction on: March 02, 2019, 08:04:59 AM
Am not really a full time gambler but I'm a player, and if gamblers are addicted they'll have some favorite games to play, then what about the player who has also their favorite games can we really tell that they're also addicted to that certain game?

Huh

I was little curious about this earlier, for I have seen some replies / feedbacks on my previous post that seems questionable to me. Only positive thought can be given, any negativities will get deleted

It is difficult when to draw the line between favoritism and addictiveness as they have different manifestations. A person may favour someone/something over another but that does not mean that he is addicted to it. In contrast, being addicted to something/someone means you find satisfaction from that feeling and you are insatiably hunger to look for more.
Furthermore, gamblers suffer this type of problem especially when they lack the self-discipline in controlling themselves. With their thirst for this satisfaction, they will exhaust every means in order to feed it- thus addiction is born.
4850  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I've got $20k to invest. Please recommend! on: March 02, 2019, 06:10:55 AM
Hey folks,

I've finally got around $20k to invest in long-term. No, unfortunately I cannot put this on a bank to get like 10-15% per year, I'd need something way more good.
What would you recommend? Mining? Other crypto?

Investors, please get me some cool ideas.

Thanks in advance,
Marcell

Diversify your investments and consider other mechanisms as well. Focusing into one investment instrument is a double-edged sword and it may depend upon your goal.
I would recommend purchasing bitcoins for long-term investment (cash them out if the prices are higher from its initial price you invested on), acquiring stocks (blue-chip companies or follow the price index), or by purchasing lands or properties. Before you buy, do extensive research and study in order to foresight your outcome.

Before you invest, consider that money as something that you are willing to lose but be responsible enough to determine when you should pull-them out.
4851  Economy / Economics / Re: why are you sure the bitcoin will be make economic freedom? on: March 02, 2019, 05:12:17 AM
lately, I found most articles the Bitcoin can make the economy more freedom and it will replace traditional financial institutions like banks etc. but what I have seen in the last few years is almost all of the cryptocurrency controlled by the crypto exchange and some related industries about blockchain, so this what is called freedom (most people only think they can print money easily and quickly) ?

The blockchain technology is a decentralized system wherein all transactions are reflected in a public ledger where everyone can access and see it. Furthermore, no one in the system is allowed to fake or change the transaction history as it will be corrected by other users in the blockchain. Cryptocurrency exchanges do not control bitcoin, as from the name itself, they are only a means of converting/purchasing bitcoins or other alternative coins.

Your argument that bitcoin can replace traditional financial institutions is impossible currently as the economic is divided between first and third world countries. Adapting to this kind of change can significantly damage world trade, transactions, and payment from all over the world.

see the future of bitcoin is bright, I think if we start now, with users who are still minimal, then later if a lot of bitcoin is needed by many people, of course the price will soar and we will get a lot of profit from it
Crypto and bitcoin currencies are specifically created using advances in technology and time and with investor crypto currencies or holders who think for themselves and are fully responsible for our own investments and there is no interference from others and that makes it possible for crypto currencies to create a free economy

The future of bitcoin is rather unknown. Regardless of the number of individuals transacting with bitcoin, if government agencies prohibit the usage, then expect it to become obsolete. Although this may be the case, I doubt that the blockchain technology would cease to exist.
4852  Economy / Speculation / Re: Many cryptocurrency players have gone bankrupt on: March 01, 2019, 11:49:29 PM
Many cryptocurrency players have gone bankrupt
As I said in this year's new futures market
Such speculation has already allowed many former winners to Departure .

What do you mean by "cryptocurrency players" or do you mean by investors? Here lies the problem with most investors at the moment: they seem to jump the hype train caused by media and they got influence into investing their money when the prices were skyrocketing.
Last December 2018, the prices reached an all-time high of $20,000 and some speculated that it might even break records reaching $1 million per coin. These newbie investors invested their money WITHOUT even doing their research and study in the market, thus losing most of their investments when the price suddenly drop.

Many of them went bankrupt because they could not choose a good coin, many also bought only because they wanted a high increase regardless of the quality of the coins they bought, and when the market went down the coin coin would go down even further, ending in cut loss. So the suggestion is that I buy coins that have a clear project.
Or shall we say that many became bankrupt because of their emotion and intensive selling at loss?
They can't take the risk that they have taken after investing to crypto's. All they think was after investing, they'll see their money grow on their wallets without knowing that there's a risk.

Lack of knowledge led them to get into that situation, I felt sorry for them but that's how it goes when someone isn't prepared of what he's taking and investing with his money.

Most investors who lost a significant portion of their investments were the ones who invested when the prices are still at high. They did not do enough study and research on the market and ONLY followed the hype train caused by media and other influencers. Unfortunately, they are also the ones who spread news about 'bitcoin's death' or 'bitcoin is dying' kind of news.
4853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a better store of value than gold on: March 01, 2019, 03:56:02 PM
Wouldn't gold's physical nature be a real weakness because it could cause a "centralization in vaults" problem? How much gold can an individual legally own and store in your homes in your country?

Then there is Bitcoin. It is virtual, and it opens a world of private key ownership, and therefore, true sovereign ownership of private property which governments cannot control.

Both bitcoin and gold are different in terms of price, nature, and acquirement but they contain store of value. What makes bitcoin unique is its digitalized form without having any innate value but its price is significantly high. In contrast, gold is a precious metal and its supply is regulated and scarce. Although they may seem similar in some aspects, both cannot be compared to each other when identifying which is the better alternative.
In terms of an asset, gold may be better due to its stability in price; bitcoin is relatively better when on short/long-term investment due to its high-volatility.

Maybe gold investment could change price about 4 until 6% every year, bitcoin have speculative price and could change just one day more than 50% but some time you will be afraid when bitcoin could be lower price just few moment,
It is because of its high price volatility that bitcoin is not a good means of storing value, which gold has been playing for centuries and millennia. Those people who invested their money in Bitcoin at the end of 2017 and lost their money were really convinced of this.

If you are looking for a good store of value, look for something that is stable in price and centralized/regulated. Compared to bitcoin, being a decentralized entity makes it price volatile and unpredictable making it not a good candidate for a store of value in the future. I would also argue that purchasing properties may be better compared to bitcoin in this aspect.
4854  Economy / Economics / Re: Cashless Economy: Is Society ready for transformation? on: February 28, 2019, 05:05:12 PM
Implementing a "cash-less" society can be potentially destructive to economies of third-world countries, especially to countries who do not have access to technological innovations and developments. Suddenly shifting to this kind of change can potentially be destructive and will further hinder the marginalized sectors from having access to such resulting to a counter-productive move.

If we look on global level many countries in the world are cashless, cuz they limited usage of paper money for everything and they pay mostly with cards and mobile devices. But if you are referring to usage of crypto in every day that wont happen any time soon cuz crypto is unstable in price. Maybe they will develop something that will have same price all the time but even if this comes to be using crypto in every day purchase this is still for the moment science fiction.

The problem is they are implementing this kind of change in India, where poverty level is at 22% of its population (around 294 million people)[1]. This move will only benefit the average-upperclass sectors and will further burden the lower-class income due to having limited access to such. Like what you mentioned, this will only work on countries on the global level.

It will be not for new users. Also, it will be probably changed for old "adopter", read the following boss's message.

OK, APNGs are now detected. Old ones are grandfathered for now, in part because people have ongoing campaigns, but in the future I might (or might not) go through and remove them.

Guys, theymos set that there will be no more animated .PNG avatars to be uploaded.

4857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You cannot win in gambling on: February 28, 2019, 03:14:40 PM
I don't think so. There are a lot of people who are lucky enough in gambling wherein their life has been really changed because of gambling. At the end of the day, it's still depends on the luck of a person.
Yes, gambling can change a person's life for the better but that is only temporary, greed will be difficult to control if gamblers have considered gambling an easy way to get quick money, meaning too underestimated. But I believe there are still people out there who are able to live happily from gambling by managing profits and press losses well.

As the nature of gambling, everything revolves around luck. In order to be successful in life, one must posses the skill, intelligence, hard-work, and luck throughout the adventure. People who became successful due to gambling are also the ones who posses the said traits and it is only a matter of perspective on how one views their success. Regardless, everything has an exception and that may be the individuals who won the lottery or by even a one time all-in bet in gambling.

In gambling wins only those who organize it. A person who makes bets can win from time to time, but if you count the amount of losses and winnings for all the time, the calculations will not be in favor of the person.
Gambling should be considered only as entertainment and not to spend large sums of money, then everything will be fine with you.

Like any other hobby, they can be addictive when it gets out-of-control and if the person lacks the discipline. What makes gambling addicting is the result and satisfaction of earning large amounts of money relative to your money risked. Unlike conventional jobs, you get paid daily, weekly, or monthly but in gambling, you can achieve those in one night.
4858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steve Wozniak former Apple ceo is asked about his view on bitcoin on: February 28, 2019, 12:57:44 PM
But he says he sees it as the worlds single currency one day.
I do not think so. When the whole world will one country, it will be possible, otherwise  each country has its own arrangement, the country does not have to depend on money, but the money have to depend on country.

I do agree. It is impossible currently for the world to shift the fiat system to a digitalized transactions due to economic discrepancies present among first world and third-world countries. In addition, the difference in technological advancements, infrastructures, and economic condition is greatly overwhelming that third-world countries are in the burden of providing their own resources in accessing bitcoin. Not to mention, they have different priorities compared to first world countries (first-world problems meme).

Although a digitalized form of payment may seem impossible, we may see this inevitable change in the future once all countries are capable of utilizing such.

Unlike Warren Buffet, Steve Wozniak is pro Bitcoin. The fact that such powerful and successful individuals are discussing BTC is achievement on its own.

It is indeed an achievement and another milestone reached in terms of its reputation. Maybe in the near future, we might see a collaboration by Apple which may affect the price of bitcoins in the future.
4859  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market will be recovery current year 2019 ? on: February 28, 2019, 10:55:10 AM
Bitcoin market analysis of Step by step , this cur rent year 2019 bitcoin will be recovery its price and reputation. I think bitcoin will be highest soon

Difficult to conclude that bitcoin's price would be the highest this year 2019 as it continues to experience this bearish slump. Although the price has decreased by 80% from its peak of $20,000, news have been circulating the launching of Bakkt platform, which would introduce the first physically exchange platform where people would receive contracts.
This would enable stock market investors to purchase investments and attract new investors due to having a well-known platform. In addition, Starbucks has collaborated with the platform (which has potential of allowing bitcoin as an alternative payment or an exchange at their stores- 15,000 customers daily!).
4860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin gambling that stressed me out (i wanna quit) on: February 28, 2019, 08:44:46 AM
I have been gambling since 2 years ago. Playing from casino sites to another casino sites. Win lose, win lose, win lose, many sleepless nights. One time somewhere 2018 i started to bet bigger than before. I got stressed out because of the bustings. I cant stop myself from playing. I just want to stop. Up until now, im still gambling and i cant stop myself from it. What will you do if you have situatiom something like this?

Problems like these, you may want to address it to your family, relatives, and close friends so you could ask them for assistance and support. Breaking any habit requires extreme patience, motivation, and determination as it involves your mental capacity to decide what is right for your current situation. If you are supporting your family, think of them as your strength to overcome this addiction. Think the future of your children and your relationship with your loved ones as it they are affected by the looks of it.
If you are supporting only yourself, think about your own future 2-3 years from now if you do not break your addiction. There is always that potential danger that you may be bankrupt or even cause mental stress that would eventually lead to suicide.

See a psychologist. You obviously have a gambling problem. Do it now before it gets any worse and ruins your relationship with your loved ones.

Funny to see those "typical" answers, like go see a shrink.

No, OP, before you see anyone - arrest your addiction.

How?

Make it impossible for you to bet, and if you can't - put fences around it, the more - the merrier.

This is how you educate yourself to stop betting, and thus you can focus on building a better life for yourself, but you have to put your addiction under arrest (just like a cop puts a civilian under arrest), once it's locked - it's locked, you won't be able to release it so quickly, it will require to pass the fences you build.

For example - self exclusion, keep your money with your loved ones so you won't be able to spend it - any website that causing you problem contact the site and ask for permanent account closure without the ability to reopen the account etc.

I honestly think that's not a "typical" answer. What's typical is "just stop gambling."

Seeing a shrink means seeking expert help. Shrinks are in the best position to tell one addicted to gambling where the problem lies and how to go about it step by step (as gambling addiction may be treated on a case-to-case basis).

I believe consulting a psychologist is always better than getting not some non-whole-hearted advice from random people who sometimes just play expert (and never even really got to study serious cases of addiction unlike psychologists who did).

Any kind of addiction is very difficult to stop especially if it becomes part of your daily routine. It is advisable that OP might want to seek help from his loved ones and he also needs time to think about his current situation.
Everything is on the mind- exercise your free will to think and to decide what is best for you.
In addition, try to substitute your addiction to something recreational like: going to the movies, taking a walk outside, going to church, or even by just watching television. As much as possible, he needs to keep himself busy and distracted and it will only be possible by asking for help.
