This Lakers game is crazy. Heading into double overtime now. The referees are making some controversial calls but at least they’re letting them play it out. Westbrook is having a great game so far but Luka Doncic has been single-handedly keeping his team in it. Now to see if it ends in double overtime or if they go for triple…

Great news about Cousins tomorrow. I hope he makes the team and stays healthy.

2 clutch threes for Luka to send them into 2OT and most importantly got the W. We can definitely say this early that Luka is a future HOF. His basketball IQ are goat-like.
That was a crazy game though, with almost everyone for each time had a good game. We didn't even expect Gabriel to step up for the Lakers down the stretch, both for the regulation and OT.

What a game. The Mavs was leading early and I thought the Lakers won't be able to catch them up but I was wrong. The Lakers though had bad 3-point shooting while Mavs' showed consistent accuracy with their shots.

Luka Doncic has been performing like a goat since his 1st year in the NBA and he keeps on improving. At 23 years old, he will be breaking more records soon as long as he keeps being healthy. It's just surprising because he is not fast or physically strong but he performs well either outside or inside. His IQ indeed is at a whole new level, he's too smart.
I confess that I would never have imagined that the Lakers would be able to "get" that score again and manage to make it a competitive game
I would have imagined that the Mavericks would be able to win easily, but that is not what happened!!
We can see that the Lakers can still be a dangerous team (when they want to), but for that to happen, the whole team needs to be playing in tune.
It was an excellent game, and even so, we saw what Luka Dondic was capable of, a great triple double and consistently managing to play more than 50 minutes (including extra time)
502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 13, 2023, 10:41:59 PM
My guess is that FIFA want to put Qatar behind and start off with the right foot in North America.
Besides, they may believe that changing the size of the tournament could bring more attention and profit to the next World Cup. It may have something too do that this next time it will be a bigger event (geographically) and plan to do it bigger on all sense.

Bigger does not mean better, though. I remain neutral to that decision.

I have mentioned manytimes before, I remain as a strong supporter of the decision by FIFA to increase the number of participants to 48. As we have seen from Qatar 2022, some of the most entertaining matches involved teams that would struggle to qualify for a 32-team event (I am talking about teams such as Cameroon, Morocco and South Korea). Also, when we are calling this tournament as a world cup, there is a requirement to ensure representation from all the geographies around the world. Look at the map below, and please let me know whether you find this representation or not:

You can never have all locations in the world evenly represented in the FIFA World Cup because European countries play better football and more of them qualifies. It's just a matter of which sport is more popular (and funded). The same thing is with some other sport that's not as popular in Europe as in other parts of the world. For example, you can't expect that many European countries will qualify for a world championship in cricket.
That's true European countries are dominating football world and that's why Morocco when made it to semi-final this year was a shock and surprise for whole world . And as far as Asia is concerned there are still no football teams representing in fifa like Pakistan and India and these teams are dominating in cricket world so that's they difference.
I hope so among 48 teams in 2026 Pakistan and India should be inside it .
Well, to be honest, I confess that I was very surprised with Morocco disputing this semifinals of this world cup, I never imagined that they could have reached there, but they played with a lot of vigor and determination, and in fact the results they achieved were deserved!!

Which kind of events are you talking about gagux123?
Well, I believe I was very generalist when I mentioned "event", but I was referring to the World Cup what will happen in 2026.
I have no doubt that this type of ""event"" (World Cup) is one of the most famous and expected nowadays.

They still have a lot of room to improve in this season for the evolution that you're saying, they should stick with their current roster though so that they can develop more depth in their roster that can help the team just like what happened with the Celtics. It will take some time of course but that really depends on the players and looking at the Kings now, I can agree that maybe they will reach and play in the playoffs.
Your analogy, talking about Celtics was excellent.
I believe that most of Boston's current players, they started early and with that, some players were polished over time playing for the Celtics, and the result is what is happening today, the Celtics have evolved and become an excellent team , of course, he is not superior to the Celtics when Garnett, Allen, Pierce and Rondo played at that time

Another interesting point is that the Celtics have become a good team to bet on, because they are currently winning with a certain frequency, not to mention performance (29w / 12L)
505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 09, 2023, 06:20:51 AM
Sacramento Kings defended their homecourt well, Fox, Sabonis and the rest of the Kings roster gave their all but the Lakers was just too good last night, giving three points with high percentage. Quite surprised that 4 of their roster got 20+ points, of course was leaded by Lebron James himself and Thomas Bryant is getting more and more impressive each night. Not as good as AD though but he's quite more healthy and more consistent.

Same here, hard to guess between the Magic and Warriors. It's so likely that the bettors preferred Warriors in that game knowing that they are still dominant even without Curry in the line-up but it seems that it wasn't the case last night.
Even though the Kings lost the game against the Lakers, I can admit that Sacramento played so good, and many people were convinced that the Kings were going to beat the Lakers, but did not happen.

One point I would like to share is about Sabonis, I followed several games when he played for OKC, and today, playing for the Kings, I realized that he had an extremely high evolution, thus making him an important player for his team.

If Sacramento maintains this rhythm, they can go to the playoffs, I even dare to say, they can advance in the playoffs, but for that to happen they need to evolve a lot.

With all these events, I even share that betting on the Kings currently is not a bad choice.
506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: January 09, 2023, 06:04:05 AM
Since Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al Nasser in Saudi Arabia, the club has seen a resurgence and having a player with experience at the club has boosted their reputation.  There are stars from different countries including Ronaldo in this club, these stars participated in different teams in the 2022 World Cup.  Al Nasser Club showed a very good performance in the last match.
With the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, a subject that has not been much discussed is the profits that Al Nasser may have in the future.
Al Nasser is having worldwide visibility, I have no doubt that this could favor a greater sale of Al Nasser products/accessories, including, they will even be able to increase the ticket price to see Cristiano Ronaldo and as incredible as it is it seems, there will be fans and people who will buy this ticket, even though it is at a high price.
507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 09, 2023, 05:53:31 AM
Schroder is performing the way he should be. He is just back to his old self when he was offered a big contract in LA before. Hopefully, they retain him and offer him again a good contract after this season. And hopefully, he accepts it.

The Lakers are still lacking a role player, I think, that can push them to the playoffs. And their goal is not just entering playoffs, it is winning the chip. That is why they are paying premiums for AD, Westbrook, and Lebron. They have to make a move now or the only thing they will achieve is Lebron taking the scoring title.
In the last few games Schroder has been a key player for the Lakers, I would even dare to say that he is in one of his best phases.
Another important factor that I can say, is Schroder's consistency, he's been keeping a good rhythm for some time now, and scoring in most of the games he plays.

I have no doubt that AD is a huge lack for the Lakers.
I even speculate that this type of player who is having this gap in LAL is a good quality PF or C.

I believe, that situation of the Lakers being without quality PF or C, can be similar to the Cavs in previous seasons.
Cavaliers had several good players, unfortunately, Cavs at that time, it was the absence of a quality PF or C to help the team.

TT did a good job, but even so he was not that important player as AD is for the Lakers, another example is Kevin Love, he managed to play PF, but his defense was not very good, but in compensation his attack was good.
508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 09, 2023, 05:34:52 AM
I think so. The tendency is that each new World Cup results become more and more unpredictable, as national teams improve and seek for foreigner help from the top strategists and coaches of the world. Even Brazil which is a traditional favorite team is looking for an european coach to replace Tite, so they can have access to the best techniques the soccer industry has to offer right now.

The whole soccer industry is being guided and ruled by european soccer playstyle and techniques. That is the price countries of every corners of the world have to pay to stay competitive. But it has been working anyway.
Most of my friends also think like you
With each passing year, more countries tend to take football seriously, consequently in the next world cups, several unknown countries will stand out and surprise the whole world with their performance.
Let's see what the future will show us

I didn't know much about this topic, but I thought it was very relevant to discuss this great event that will occur in 2026!

Guys, i have a question... do you believe that in the next World Cup we will have several other unforeseen events!!?
510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 08, 2023, 09:35:05 PM
I'll be curious to watch the Kings vs Lakers game tonight.

James scored over 30 points once again, and his teammates (Bryant, Schroder, and Westbrook) also had good performances. As a result, the Lakers beat the Kings by only 2 points, and that's their 5th win in a row. However, the Lakers are still in 12th place in the standings, but this winning streak has clearly improved their position, as the win/loss difference between the 5th and 12th place in the Western Conference is small now.
Yes, exactly!
I believe that LeBron James just kept up his performance as literally almost every game he plays he scores 20+ points.

An interesting factor is that several other players are helping LJ in these last games, Schroder and Bryant for me was one of the biggest surprises, because in the last games they are scoring a lot and consequently helping the Lakers in these victories.
If AD will return in time and the Lakers maintain this performance, I have no doubt that the Lakers will qualify for the playoffs and I even speculate that they can, yes, advance in the playoffs.
511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: January 08, 2023, 09:31:15 PM
Al Nassr approached Cristiano Ronaldo for the first time because of his considerable influence. What if Ronaldo changed Saudia's constitution? As I've heard, Saudi Arabia plans to modify its marriage laws to allow Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez to live together. It is illegal for unmarried couples to live together in Saudi Arabia. Ronaldo should accomplish all the goals they set for him, including promoting football there. The failure of this project will lead to double the negative impact on Saudi Arabia.
I also read some news about it, and indeed, it looks like they are going to change some laws related to marriage.
Apparently Cristiano Ronaldo is being an influential factor for Saudi Arabia, to the point that they have changed some marriage laws.

Guys, do you believe that in the future Saudi Arabia will be able to modify some more laws with the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to that country!!?

I have no doubt that this signing of Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr was a much commented and discussed factor these days!
512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 08, 2023, 09:26:02 PM
I bet against the Lakers because it is an away game for them, and I expect them to lose. But they prove me wrong. They continue their winning streak. They are now on a 5-game winning streak. This is a good sign for the fans of the Lakers. It seems they are coming back to life even without AD. They will be even stronger when AD returns.

Congratulations to the winners today.

9 games tomorrow but most of them are too early for me. I may take an early bet later.
Same for me, I believe I will bet later too. We will have several games today, I believe it will be valid to make some picks today.

Yes, Lakers have a good team, what is missing is chemistry between the players, it's too early to say, but if AD returns, and the team continues with the spirit of teamwork, I have no doubt they will be able to advance in the playoffs, But I think it's too early for me to say that.
513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 08, 2023, 08:16:00 AM
I’m showing a -9.5 point spread for the Lakers tonight at the moment. I agree that is too large of a spread, especially the way LeBron has been playing. I think the Kings will probably win, but I don’t have faith they’ll cover the spread, so I think I’d take the Lakers on that one (with the spread). Might as well toss the Warriors beating the Magic and the Celtics beating the Spurs in there with a parlay.
Lakers vs Kings, it was an interesting game and oddly enough, balanced. The Lakers surprised me again, as I was convinced the Kings were going to win the game, but that didn't happen.

By the way, whoever bet on the Lakers was lucky lol

In this round of the NBA we had another unforeseen event, Magic beat the Warriors, and GSW was the favorite to win the game.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) I'm glad I didn't bet as I would have lost some money on my bets lol

I'm not very familiar with football in Saudi Arabia, but with the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo to the Al Nassr club, I have no doubt that Saudi football has gained worldwide notoriety.

Well, I don't have much information, but could someone share some websites or channels, that you keep informed about SPL?
515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 07, 2023, 08:29:59 PM
It's unlikely that the Kings will have an impressive performance in the playoffs. At least, I don't expect them to be able to of getting past the second round. By the way, it's worth noting that the Kings haven't reached the playoffs in the last 16 seasons. So the fact that the Kings are now in fifth place in the standings and have a good chance of reaching the playoffs is already a great achievement for both their current roster and for the Kings franchise as a whole.
I also agree with this kind of thought, I confess, this season the Kings are playing very well, I have no doubt that they will reach the playoffs in this season, but unfortunately for them to be able to advance in the playoffs, they still need to mature and improve his level.

I'll be curious to watch the Kings vs Lakers game tonight.
516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 07, 2023, 08:00:15 PM
Let's see how the Lakers will perform in the game against the Kings.

I would not trust them against the Kings, unfortunately I may not be able to bet on the Kings despite my trust in them because the spread is very high. The spread now is -8.5, although Kings has no doubt would win here, I'm concerned if they can cover the spread.
You're right, I also consider a -8.5 spread relatively high, but basketball is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get lol
I confess, this game between Lakers and Kings will be interesting to watch

The Lakers have a good team, if they manage to make some adjustments, have chemistry with each other, I have no doubt that they can become a competitive team, for us to know that, only time will show us
517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 07, 2023, 09:35:52 AM
Anyone picking on the Lakers to win against the Hawks?

They are listed as the underdogs so I'm thinking to put some money on the ML @2.19. Not huge amount of money, but just enough to enjoy a late night basketball game.

James will be back and so is Bryant and so maybe they can extend their winning streak against Atlanta at their home court.
Sometimes the unexpected happens, and when you least expect it, you are surprised.
In my view, the Lakers seem to be improving day after day and even so, in the game against the Hawks, several LAL players had an expressive score, Bryant (19), Schroder (21), Westbrook (18), Nunn (23) and LJ (25).

The Lakers played with chemistry and that was an important factor, so, they had teamwork.

If the Lakers manage to maintain this performance, have chemistry between the players and stand out, I have no doubt that he will be able to participate in these playoffs, but for that to happen, it will be necessary to make these adjustments.

Let's see how the Lakers will perform in the game against the Kings.
518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 07, 2023, 08:56:26 AM
Unfortunately I was not able to watch this whole Celtics vs Mavericks game, but I saw in some highlights that Marcus Smart played well, and mainly his main characteristic which is his defense, worked well in this game, because I also agree that "only" 23 points for Luka it's not much, I immediately imagined that for this to have happened either Luka played badly or he was very well guarded.

Good thing you didn't watch the game but it turns out it was just a boring game. Honestly, I didn't expect that the Mavericks will lose by blowout in that game, they were playing very well at home, so I was expecting that they will at least make it tougher for the Celtics to beat them.
I believe that most people also imagined that, but I believe it was a compilation of events that somehow "favored" the Celtics.

Luka scored few times, and had "only" 29 points, while the Celtics, most of the players had a relevant score.

It seems that with each passing year, the young players Tatum, Brown, Smart among others, are getting a significant improvement, that is, it was a hard work of the Celtics team in polishing these players.

I even dare to say, but (Tatum, Brown and Smart) could be a similar trio to the Celtics of a few years ago (Garnett, Pierce, Allen and Rondo), I know that these young players need to mature and improve to at least come close the level of that Celtics trio of yesteryear.
519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 06, 2023, 05:18:15 AM
The next All-Star NBA game this 2023 season is right around the corner, and regarding the updated voting I think Lebron James and Kevin Durant was still the favorite to be captains of the team, and their guards for the West is Stephen Curry, and for the East is Kyrie Irving, surely enough I am excited about who's going to be MVP again, I have seen that Russell Westbrick was on the list and many are complaining about Austin Reaves getting on the list aswell, which is I really think seems OK and surely Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have made it while he is extremely great at playing at the Oklahoma City Thunder,

While here is the list for the All-star voting for now, I really don't know if this is updated and I have just seen it on the news,

Well, I admit I was a little out of date with this All-Star game information.
But I think that's what I had in mind, LJ and Curry on one side and Durant and Kyrie Irving on the other.
I confess that it will be an interesting game!

So we are in a different era right now that as Luka said, it's easy to score in the NBA. And we can add to the sports medicine and trainings too has progressed in the last 20 years. A lot has really contributed why we are now seeing players scoring 40 points and higher per night.

Let's just appreciate how they play right now and so far, this is the most surprising season we had in the last 10 years because of how the star players in the teams turning their games into something historical play. With them being consistent in making their shots to score more than 50 points, they are about to surpass some great records this season and they are a few more points to be in the second but Kobe's still the best one after Wilt's 100. Do you guys think Victor Wembanyama can be the next Wilt Chamberlain? let's see if he gonna score more points in his first-season debut in the NBA.
As for Victor Wembanyama, I cant say if he will be the next Wilt Chamberlain or will be the biggest bust. There are players that are great in the amateurs but failed miserably in the NBA. I think if he has to surpassed records, it should be Luka, because he has been breaking Lebron James record in the first five years if I'm not mistaken.

To early to tell about that and comparing him to a legend doesn't give  any justification so maybe lets see if he can provide the same performance what he show on lower leagues since competition there and in NBA are so different.

Luka have huge potential to break records over records and he's so young so for sure to many excellent improvements will come to his career.

I believed that Luka can surpassed many of Lebron records at a young age, but we all know that the true gauge for greatness if how many rings you can have in your hand and so far, LUka has a long way to go to get even one at this point.

And speaking of him, they are being massacred by the Boston Celtics in their homecourt and probably gonna take the L tonight.

No Luka magic for us.

It's the defense that Smart put on Luka, he just got 23 points in this game and not his usual game.

Denver is having their time against the Clippers, and it's a blow out a huge 40 point lead and the Clippers can't seem to find any offense in this game. Jokic is just playing easy right now, and Porter just got a good dunk, it's 43 point lead now.

Are we getting trap with the Lakes taking a lead against the Heat, without Lebron, AD?

I'm taking the Heat -5.5 at 2.20 live betting. Still in the 2nd half and although the Lakers are leading at their homecourt, they might tire (they usually does), and it's time for Miami to take the two full quarters.

Nets though lost even if Durant has a big 44 points, thus ending their winning streak.
Excellent observation!
I confess that I am extremely surprised with this Lakers vs Heat game.

Never would I have imagined that the Lakers could be a competitive team without LeBron James and AD, and that's what's happening with this game.
Lakers are playing well and so far he's beating the Heat.
Let's see if can continue with this performance and possibly win this game.

Guys, what are your picks for this round? Could we have some surprises? Or not?

Wrong bet for me though, I thought that the Heat is going to take over because they have been hitting 3's on that stretch when I put my bet on the 3rd quarter.

Live betting, Dallas for me @2.10, the game has started already, let's wait for Luka to explode.

I think he will take this challenge against the best team in the East right now.
I confess that I imagined that Luka would be on fire in this game, but that didn't happen, the Celtics stood out and got this victory.
7 perfect shots of 32 attempted at the 3 point line, this was a bad performance of Mavericks

Is anyone also watching the Nuggets vs Clippers game?
So far, the Nuggets are leading this game, nearly 40 points, and we're in the final 6 minutes of the last quarter.
Could this difference increase or decrease?
