501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: yPool.net XPM Pooled CPU Mining!!! on: August 31, 2013, 08:07:31 PM

Apparently they are migrating servers and will be a few hours.
502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM]unofficial jhPrimeminer thread on: August 31, 2013, 08:07:01 PM
They are migrating server.

Will be up in hours.
Why, too much traffic or for DDOS protection?
503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] CUDA enabled qt client miner for primecoins. Source code inside. WIP on: August 31, 2013, 08:06:29 PM
Is this project dead?
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin, new thread :) on: August 31, 2013, 08:05:59 PM
How long will this be in closed beta? Even with only 2x more efficiency, when all those gpu miners on litecoin and others hash coins switch to XPM, it will make a huge difference in the total hashrate.
505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin High Performance on: August 31, 2013, 08:04:25 PM
Well, I've had a primecoin client running on my personally-owned rackserver that I have in a datacenter(In washington), and it's been a proper 24 hours now. The client hasn't synchronized. It's Win Server 08R2, as well as a precompiled build.

Do I need to manually add some peers, or something? Although I also noticed that it was giving that error that everyone else here reports. So I restarted it and it seems to be doing better now. (few hours to sync)

Also, I port forwarded the port 9911 for PrimeCoin. Is there anything else I can do to make my client be of more use to the network? I heard something about super nodes but I'm not sure how that works.

Cheers.
The Linux versions seem to be more stable.
506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Why Primecoin Price Has Bottomed Out on: August 31, 2013, 08:03:34 PM
It really dropping a lot now, though that is largely due to BTC surging.  Still, even against the USD it has dropped from 0.70 to 0.50 XPM/USD.
507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin Press Thread on: August 31, 2013, 08:02:26 PM
If you read an article regarding Primecoin post it here. I'll keep the OP updated.
Lots of good articles and news on our reddit feed: http://www.reddit.com/r/primecoin
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Primecoin Record Books on: August 31, 2013, 08:01:26 PM
Why have their been no updates here?  We must have found sooo many more records by now.
509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: August 31, 2013, 08:00:40 PM
Does primecoin still produce a block per minute?  Seems like less, though maybe that just because the computing power soo slanted towards those with huge server farms, botnets and 100s of VPS droplets
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM]unofficial jhPrimeminer thread on: August 31, 2013, 07:53:53 PM

511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Primecoin Mining Rig - Parallela on: August 31, 2013, 07:46:39 PM
Anyone bought one of these? Please let us know! I'm willing to get wet with this project.

I paid for one, and I'm on the preorder list. I'm looking forward to play with it!!
I am very curious to see how it works - would seem like an ideal match on a price/xpm mining basis.
512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: Pick your favorite Alt-Coin! on: August 31, 2013, 03:35:59 PM
Only a few votes above XPM.
Irinocally, Litecoin is one of the least innovative all coins out there.  It only popular since it was one of the earliest altcoins to have a fair launch.
513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Primecoin Mining Rig - Parallela on: August 31, 2013, 03:33:13 PM
Plus it is very inexpensive.  probably cheaper than leasing a dedicated server.
514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: Pick your favorite Alt-Coin! on: August 31, 2013, 04:04:37 AM
Wonder how long LTC will remain # 2
515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : Invest in 1% House Edge Dice Game on: August 31, 2013, 12:43:29 AM
With a current profit of 0.58% and almost 100,000,000 bets and nearly 1 million BTC wagered, you could say the historical house edge is effectively 0.6% Smiley
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] The Unofficial Primecoin Overview Thread (all information in one place!) on: August 31, 2013, 12:38:14 AM
It very variable but I think 2 days you'll get a block with hp10, but it soooo variable.
517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of all cryptocoins on: August 30, 2013, 11:29:53 PM
It probably has been added after this list compiled.  Will be doing a new poll soon and will add it;)
518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] The Unofficial Primecoin Overview Thread (all information in one place!) on: August 30, 2013, 11:28:46 PM
Some minor additions to the sites and formattings
519  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: August 30, 2013, 11:26:29 PM
It seems that most bulls here feel 5BTC is fair value - that this would support a stable dividend.  The question is what % of the total network hash would AM need to maintain to deserve such a pricing again? Currently it at 4% only, well below its traditional 15%.

Find it on my github: https://github.com/tandyuk/jhPrimeminer

Build instructions:

Ubuntu (13.04):
sudo apt-get install build-essential libgmp-dev openssl libssl-dev git
git clone https://github.com/tandyuk/jhPrimeminer.git
cd jhPrimeminer
make

Centos (6.4):
yum -y groupinstall "Development Tools"
yum -y install openssh-clients openssl-devel gmp-devel gmp gmp-static git
