501  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Crashes Nearly 25% - Joe Weisenthal at Business Insider on: November 11, 2013, 08:42:52 PM
I hope I won't sound inappropriate, but I would be surprised if a guy, whose last name is "Weisenthal", would praise bitcoin. What would be next? A Rothchild praising interest free banking? Smiley

Discriminate much?
502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Love Max Keiser's Show - (I think I need change my dollars) on: November 11, 2013, 07:43:27 PM
I watch him on RT [Russia Today] and he is very smart about economic matters, especially the US economy.

Max Keiser Makes Price Of Bitcoin Surge After Mentioning It On UK Primetime TV, But Who Is He?

“Can you explain to us in an entirely understandable way what Bitcoin is?” was the question that introduced many Britons to Russia Today financial commentator Max Keiser as he presented his plainspoken approach to money on the BBC satirical news show "Have I Got News For You."
Who Is Max Keiser?

His answer was simple. “It’s an electronic currency that’s used exactly like money except it’s not backed by any state, so you have no state interference and they can’t print it,” he said during the Nov. 1 primetime broadcast, which was watched by 7 million people.

Almost immediately after the audience heard Keiser's explanation of something that few understand, the value of bitcoin shot up by about $30 (from about $210/unit) over the following three days.

“In Cyprus, when the banking system started to collapse, the adoption of Bitcoin skyrocketed. Same thing in Greece. Same thing in Venezuela,” said Keiser, whose full name is Timothy Maxwell Keiser.

The energetic and controversial presenter has built a reputation on saying the things that others appeared too scared to say and has been a constant thorn in the side of many in the banking world, including JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM), which he alleges sold silver that did not physically exist to artificially hike the price. The reality is if someone came to collect that silver, JPMorgan would be forced onto the open market to buy it, he has said. While his trash-talking may come across as a mere ratings ploy -- for example, he called for a fatwa on then-U.S. Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson at the height of the global financial crisis -- Keiser has been cited in nearly every top business publication to date giving his view on a wide variety of financial issues.

Keiser, 53, grew up in Westchester, N.Y., and attended New York University, where he studied theater. He took a part-time job at Paine Webber as a stock broker in the 1980s before going on to create the HSX Holdings/Hollywood Stock Exchange, allowing traders to exchange virtual securities with convertible virtual current, known as the “Hollywood Dollar.” The exchange was later bought by renowned financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald.

Keiser then went into a broadcasting career producing short financial documentaries for Al-Jazeera before moving to BBC World News to do "The Oracle with Max Keiser," where he covered current affairs with a humorous spin.

While he continues to present "The Truth About Markets" on Resonance 104.04 in London and RDU 98.5 in Christchurch, New Zealand, he and his wife, Stacy Herbert, also work on "The Keiser Report" on the Kremlin-funded RT television network. The show takes complex financial issues and presents them as easy-to-understand chunks with an edge and a lot of shouting.

Such is the popularity of the show, he’s been able to invite names such as actress Roseanne Barr, political figures like George Galloway and a host of comedians to discuss politics and finance.

I suspect Joe is trying to get Bitcoin to be dumped so he can buy at pre-2013 prices, LOL  Wink
504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alternative clients, risks, pros, cons, security? on: November 11, 2013, 07:32:55 PM
I use MultiBit and am very satisfied. I could not imagine going back to the default client.

When will someone come out with a multi-coin wallet? One that can hold BTC, LTC, etc.
I'm tired of switching between all the different clients!  Cheesy
505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So I went down to the bitcoin ATM today... on: November 11, 2013, 07:28:22 PM
Great, every layperson will associate Bitcoin as the thing they had to pay for to pay off those hackers!

Not good!

I have a feeling those people who hack peoples PCs and get pics of people undressing through their web cam without their knowledge will be using this for extortion. And those creepy guys at computer repair places who save photos off of customers computers they repair. Ugh.

What's next, Somali pirates asking for ransom payments in Bitcoin?

Bitcoin Crashes Nearly 25%
Joe Weisenthal Nov. 10, 2013, 11:51 AM 9,760 25

Another crazy day in the land of Bitcoin.

Yesterday it was nearly $400.

Today it's down to about $300. Just a 25% crash in the course of a day.

Here's the one-year chart via ClarkMoody:

I'm sure with depth set at 15, even Kruniac shows up on your list.
Depth is the only issue, imho.

The point is depth is set at 2 or 3 by DEFAULT, so newbies going by the default settings will think it's an accurate gauge of trust, when it's really not.

Remember, people who are not that computer savvy are joining this forum by the busload.

That is what religion does to person.

No, this is what drugs does to a person. I am pretty convinced he used the funds he stole from squall to buy drugs.
509  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Tithing on: November 10, 2013, 08:33:15 PM
I know the Mormon (LDS) church is very strict about collecting 10% tithe from its members.

A Mormon friend of mine said his pastor actually demands to see paychecks to make sure they are getting their cut!

But, Mormons really do put their tithing to good use from what I see. If there is ever World War III, they will be ready Smiley

Kudos to Vod for resolving the issue with just_me.

Hopefully now we can resolve our issue in the other thread.

Kouye, the fact is Vod shows up on the default trust list, as deep as 2 levels. That is what this thread was about, the default trust list.

I know its hard to understand the trust system, so try looking into it more.

Thanks Goat for your help. Cheesy
513  Other / Meta / Re: Abuse of the trust system by Vod on: November 10, 2013, 07:50:01 PM
Since Vod has no shame, I implore everyone to give Vod negative feedback for continuously harassing Christians on this forum, until he removes his false feedbacks.

You are complaining because I left feedback based on my feelings, then you go and ask everyone else to leave feedback based on your feelings.   Roll Eyes

You seem to like being a hypocrite.  You complain about something, then go and do the exact same thing yourself.  Pick a side and stick with it.

Thank you for removing your garbage feedback.  It certainly removes that barrier from me removing your feedback.

For the record, the last complaint I had about AndrewWilliams requesting a SSN was on Sep 21.

First off thanks for removing 1 of the 2 negs you had on my feedback. The remaining feedback is hogwash, so please take that down too.

Your "feelings" were wrong. Targeting someone because of their race or religion is wrong. You took it down, so kudos for that, we all make mistakes. That's all.

I'm not a hypocrite, I just get angry when people pick on other people. If someone is going to push, I push back. That' the way I am.

Again, I don't ask for social security numbers. I've gone through all my PM's and threads (especially on Sep 21) and there is nothing like that.

Only people I was talking to on that date was Professor James Moriarty who is Turkish and offered his national ID number as collateral since he had no collateral to give.
He had requested a loan on the Lenders forum. I declined since I have no use for it, and I wanted real collateral.
Other person was i3lome who I lent to, and I never asked him for his social. He has confirmed this numerous times.

I am wondering if someone didn't create a sock puppet account and message you that just to agitate things.

So, since I have nothing to hide, please post the screenshot or info of the user who claims that I asked for a social security number. Mods can go in their PMs and see I never asked for it. Simple.

If  I did ask for something like that, I honestly don't remember it. My only rationalization would be someone who had no collateral and to use it as a mechanism to post a "late" to their credit if they were late on the loan. It obviously would require drawing up an agreement (a lot of hassle). But again I looked and couldn't find anything.

If you don't want to go through the drama, just remove the neg feedback. It's obvious I am not an identity thief, and my personal religious beliefs should not be a factor.

I don't hold grudges and would be more than happy to close/delete this thread, posts related to this. Just want a resolution.

Thanks for reading.

515  Other / Meta / Re: Abuse of the trust system by Vod on: November 10, 2013, 04:14:18 AM
I've left the OP negative trust based on reports I have received.

The OP could have responded by saying "I'm sorry, I won't ask for that info again".  Instead he chose to lie about me four different times.  I'm not going to go into each individual lie YET AGAIN, because I'm sick of having my words twisted and I'm sure the forum is as well.

If OP wants to start fresh, he needs to remove his negative feedback.  I'm not considering anything while that BS is up there.

Honestly, I've gone through all my posts and PM's and have never, even in a drunken stupor asked for that.

So you know: I will never ask for a social security number period. If I did something that made you distrust me, asking for personal info when making loans, then I apologize and it will not happen again.

Neg feedback removed.

Your move.
516  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Does anybody need 0.00271694 BTC? on: November 09, 2013, 10:18:16 PM
I have screenshots from TWO people now clearly showing you asking for social security numbers.

Instead of claiming you never did it, you should have admitted it and said you weren't going to do it anymore.

Stop asking - the feedback is true and it will remain.

Hah! You've changed the reason for your bad feedback more times than you can count.

I've looked through my messages and have found nothing of the sort.

If you are referencing a Turkish user who was seeking a loan, he was the one offering a national ID number, whatever the hell that is, as collateral. I told him no since I had no use for that info. Loan never went through and that was that.

Whatever it is, it seems you know whatever info you have is very weak if not existent, and you are twisting the facts.

The feedback is not true; I am not an identity thief. No one has said that except you, and I've never even done a deal with you! Your other dumb feedback about saying you took a trust loan shows how confused you are.

You have no regard for truth as evidenced by the feedback you gave another user for being Christian calling him mentally ill.

I would have let this dog lie if you didn't start up picking on him.  Angry
517  Other / Meta / Re: Abuse of the trust system by Vod on: November 09, 2013, 10:17:28 PM
I was kind of drunk last night when I posted that.  I've removed it and I apologize for the mess.  Smiley

Interesting.

We're you drunk when you posted those two lies on my feedback?

518  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Does anybody need 0.00271694 BTC? on: November 09, 2013, 10:00:11 PM

You keep offering to remove your negative feedback if I remove mine.

Is your feedback true?  Why would you remove it if it was true?

 Roll Eyes

Of course it's true.

I will remove my feedback stating you lied about me on your feedback, if you remove those lies.

If you are no longer lying on my trust, I have no reason to say you are. Thus, feedback removed.

It's very simple.

519  Other / Politics & Society / Re: No Other Foundation Than That Which Is In Christ Jesus on: November 09, 2013, 09:32:03 PM
I said religious people deserve to be insulted, because religion is a bad thing, it's sad if you consider something that small sadistic.  While I agree that OP has the right to express his views here, I also think that I have a right to express mine, even if they go against his.  I don't have to respect something that is a cancer to society just because some people like it.

Please, tell us how you really feel Cheesy

520  Other / Politics & Society / Re: No Other Foundation Than That Which Is In Christ Jesus on: November 09, 2013, 09:24:23 PM
sa·dism
1. The deriving of pleasure, or the tendency to derive pleasure, from cruelty.
I don't see how being anti-religion is sadistic, I'm not being any more cruel than the OP is to anti-religious people by cluttering up the board with crap about Jesus.  A wise man once said, religion is like a penis.  It's okay to have one, it's okay to be proud of it, but you shouldn't go around waving it in people's faces.

Right because you said they deserve it.

Saying that is kinda cruel.

He's not invading other threads doing it, he made his own. Big difference.

Crap about Jesus? That's pretty disrespectful. Not called for.
