I don't get what's exclusive about this coin? Looks like another easy clone with a bunch of bagholders waiting for a good pump.

maybe you didnt notice its the ONLY coin with a working marketplace and ... it sells stuff discounted vs if you used USD or BTC.
so while it has no technology addon it has.. real usage addon. beat that buddy!

Marketplace and that's all? You gotta be kidding me.

Year no idea how ebay and amazon are alive

Go out scammer and fudster

Scammer and fudster for asking right questions? Go do your homework, kiddo.

It was me to ask Ghostlander. Let's suppose my interest in HAL is pure business as I'm a quite large bagholder for one reason or another. The previous dev failed miserably in his promises. I support the new dev and his fork with my holdings. FYI, I'm 70% of network stake weight now. I also don't give a shit what trolls say because I'm a troll myself when in a bad mood Smiley

The dev said he finished with the wallet on this weekend. Going to release it on Monday with a switch time by the next weekend. Should be good enough.

Do the devs care to put down in detail how they have spent these 112 BTC of ICO and why they are not going to transfer any leftovers to the new devs?

+1 i would like to know too because i cant beliefe no btc left and if so i want to see what they where paid for.

it's hard to reply when the sun is blinding your laptop on the beach in Tahiti.

Ok, I got it, just wanted to be sure. I'm not surprised the devs ain't gonna tell us how they have spent their 112 BTC. They could just buy back all GB in circulation at quarter of the ICO price and destroy it, but they are no fools to do this. Another sad story in the lenghty list of ICO scamcoins.

No reputable developer team would take over this coin for free knowing the previous team got away with the ICO funds and left angry bagholders behind. Dumped my last part of GB today, though it wasn't much. This coin is going deep down. Take care.
509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: *Must Read* especially noobs! how to make profit on: December 12, 2014, 02:10:39 AM
It's a good read. It doesn't really explain how whales play markets, but it helps newbies not to get burned much (they will get burned anyway tho...)

The current price is a joke. You can't buy even 1% of the coin supply at this price. It takes 2 BTC to get listed on Bittrex or another popular exchange, that much at least for basic coding without any exclusive features and a few more BTC to pay for servers, design, promotion, etc. It takes more than 10 BTC to make a market moving coin like HAL was in August. You see it costs $5K now, that's 14 BTC. Folks here pay more for an average scammy ICO.

The previous dev should have said clearly 2 months ago that he isn't in position to do coin development due to absense of skills or time or whatever. It would save us all a lot of frustration and we could get this coin under a better management much earlier without any delisting threats and so on.

What about old coins ?? The one which we purchased ??
Will they be still valid ?? Sorry am not much a crypto guy so asking

The last news I heard it was 80% ready. The dev is finishing another higher priority project now and will release HAL after. There are two separate algorithms implemented, one for PoW and another for PoS. The first one is NeoScrypt, so prepare your miners. I'm sure the new wallet will be released this week.

Your coins are safe. This is an evolutionary process, not "let's blow up everything and build it up again from scratch".

Can i ask a question ?
Who are the owners of the coin ? Phantom?? And what right he has to remove the halcoindev (just asking) . And what why is the coin algo being changed ?

I am not a fudder ... and i have no intention of fudding ... am just asking ... I am a supporter of this coin ... plz can some one answer me

Thank u

There are no owners. It isn't a bank or something. It's the community who decides where to go. The previous dev did nothing for HAL after September in fact. It doesn't really matter why. We need a dev who can do the job. I found a good dev and he agreed to make the next release for HAL. When it's done and open for public use, he will speak for himself.

Ran into a kind of difficulty with the new algo. It's more expensive than X15 and consumes more CPU resources making it complicated to do staking if there are hundreds of small coin inputs available in a wallet. That includes my one. It needs to be optimized somehow. The dev is going to work around this either way. Stay tuned.
516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Halcyon - x15 POS - Cryptsy Bittrex - Dev Slow but Continue on: December 01, 2014, 06:33:10 PM
I talked to the new dev on the last weekend and we decided to switch the algo because X15 was never a winner and ASICs like those advertised by Cleverhash are coming soon for all X1x coins anyway. I think it's good to stay ASIC free for half a year at least, maybe more. Should take a day or two to implement. No joke.

@ph4nt0m

We don't have any time. We have to act, when there is still not to late to save this coin. I'm wondering why halcyondev appears when we talk about takeover?

The wallet update is going out on Monday. I'm told everything is going as scheduled. The new code is being tested to make sure there are no bad surprises while switching over.

Should we make a new thread for HAL?

I'm leaving this up to the new dev.

If your going to take over you better do it soon.

A delisting from bittrex would be a huge blow to HAL

They contacted me asking for the takeover details.

How did they contact you?

Proof?

I filed a ticket with them on Nov-15-2014 asking not to delist HAL this time. Bill Shihara responded 2 days back asking if the community takeover happened. I followed with the details. You can ask him directly if any doubts.

Come on, this is business. Bittrex makes money by allowing others to trade on their platform which I must admit is very well done. If an asset being traded sucks and falls in price to the bottom, its daily trade volume in BTC also sucks and they make little profit on trading fees. If this thing has no ongoing development and no chance to improve the situation, what's the point of keeping it listed? There are no miracles in the crypto world. You have to work hard to make big.

I m tired of this "HAL is scam" I worked very hard on it and paid money for others for help. I meet promises, pay for nice logo, writing, work on code, work on site, work for anon, community gives nothing but insult now. I don't come to see the thread because it's just attacks and the last news i post is still the newest.

You say you worked very hard. What exactly did you do in the last 2 months apart of waiting for another dev to finish your store? It seems pretty much nothing. Many people trusted you and lost a lot.

The anon is done, the code is not able to be released open source because some parts are proprietary and I have no permission to release. Also, only 4 or 5 anonymous coin sends were ever done. People just followed this coin for the hype and then the dumps started and never stopped. No real care for the project.

Yeah, just what I thought. You didn't write the anon. Maybe it's Dan or someone else. There is no point in a proprietary anon wallet except for a hype which comes to the end sooner or later.
