There are also some reports from Carlisle saying the old military barrack there have 1000's of tents on the ground now I have a feeling the UK gov have set this up as a "infection" camp for once the hospitals reach capacity this would be akin to the Spanish flu outbreak where camps were setup to send the infect there.

there is also reports surfacing of heavy duty military equipment on the move to the capital. (See video below)

What are they planning on doing with tanks? attacking there own people?

502  Other / Off-topic / UK COVID-19 - London Lockdown on: March 18, 2020, 02:22:15 PM
UK is sending the army onto the streets in London in reaction to the Covid-19 virus.
We are hearing that the UK is passing legislation to allow them to shut the entire country down we have already seen stores stripped bare and some staff in large stores like Tesco and Asda being told they possibly won't be re-stocking and staff will be sent home.

Stay safe Philip I hope your other half get's better soon it's getting serious here in the UK the gov missed the chance to isolate the county to some degree now they are saying they "estimate" 50k + people have it and are out in the  community.

Well, someone's absolutely hammering it. I haven't seen these sized hashrates in a very long time.

Code:
{"hashrate1m": "138P", "hashrate5m": "138P", "hashrate15m": "130P", "hashrate1hr": "91.9P", "hashrate6hr": "30.8P", "hashrate1d": "15.1P", "hashrate7d": "8.67P"}

Good luck to them solo seems to be picking up again can we re-live the glory days before the halving!

I hope so!

505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Brave Browser: Now users can earn Basic Attention Token (BAT) for viewing ads on: March 13, 2020, 01:13:14 PM
What they don't tell you is to get the BAT tokens you have to KYC with some outside service I feel a browser that has it's root's as a "privacy" browser should really re-think the way the rewards are sent out why should a privacy browser make users KYC to get the rewards for viewing adverts?

Very poor if you ask me and it's not even made clear when you start viewing ads that KYC is required or you don't get your BAT tokens

Isn't it not necessary for KYC to get a BAT token in the browser? Like I used Brave browser as surfing the internet but now I don't use it for some reason, but I will try this browser again for Android phones and I don't think this browser needs to root the cellphone.

Yes it is needed you have to give KYC details to some company called uphold to actually get your BAT tokens yet it's not telling you this until you try and claim them I think it's a terrible for a browser that says it's privacy focused to push ad's to users then require they KYC to get the funds via come company.

Brave should OUTRIGHT state to users when turning on the ad's YOU ARE REQUIRED to KYC before you can claim you BAT.

Very poor practice if you ask me.
506  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: March 13, 2020, 01:13:42 AM
Thanks for the math on that Philip, I have been thinking we may reach this point for quite some time now I think we are in the grips of the next global markets crash I have the feeling we are going to lose the institutional investors and traders for quite some time after this move and I think we will probably see a lot more negative diff's going forward to be honest.

I am a champion for the small miners the network topology will change if we are going to be in this for the long run and I believe in time we will go back to a time in the past where it's back to the hand's of the many rather than the few.

I am also very glad I never sold off my gear think I might start dusting it off and looking for a place to get setup again if this is going to be a continued downtrend going forward.

I have not been keeping up with the chip development side for a while now but it's not looking like the efficiency is following the same path it once was with chips and I can only speculate that bitmain won't be making sub 3kw  gear any more.

Thanks for the update going to start keeping eyes on the mining again because it's about to get hot in the kitchen as far as I can tell.

**edit** out of merit so IOU 2 merit Smiley
507  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: March 13, 2020, 12:52:03 AM
At what price point do you all think the larger miners will start to suffer by my calculation's we're already at a price point that could see some hash rate fall off the network if we stick below 4500 for extended period do you think we could see a shift in the network back to the smaller miners coming back online?

I would love to know what your thought's are on where it would no longer be viable for some of the mega farms if the price continues to drop.

Or do you think we will see what we saw before with the hashrate falling and there being mega fud to push the smaller miners back out and the Diff having a correction back down for prolonged period?

I'm sure it went down as the pool stats went to like 54 th on the 1 min chart.

Probably some kind of outage at the data center I hope?

Code:
{"hashrate1m": "54.6T", "hashrate5m": "422T"
512  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Be aware of fake firmware floating around. on: March 12, 2020, 02:48:25 PM
Seems to be a lot of sketchy firmware out there for the miners these days.

Saying that having run the kano version of the S3 firmware I found it to be very good with a lot lot less load and much better HW error figures.

On another note virus total is not the best tool to use for looking at .exe's I find if you really want to dig into them and see lot's more details on what it's actually doing then https://www.hybrid-analysis.com/ is the go too tool for the ones who like a deeper peek into what's going on.

I think the reason bitmain started locking the later miners was to try combat this issue with scam firmware and try keep people on there own brand.

@kano how about a update for the S3+ firmware been some time and there still about would love latest cgminer on it Smiley

Did the pool and site go down?

Miners seems to have dropped out and website was unavailable for about 10 min there.
515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PETER SCHIFF WAS RIGHT: Again... If Bitcoin does not go up on good news.... on: March 11, 2020, 11:49:16 PM
He's just a troll and your all feeding him and he loves it some people like to be center of attention no matter what and he's one of them if there something controversial he can post to get CT to react then he will if everyone started to remove him on twitter then he would not have a voice in the first place.

Not to mention his call's are terrible he has made error after error on his calls not only in bitcoin but in gold too which seems to be his go to thing.

Sometimes I wonder how much gold he holds physical or how wrecked he will be when his gold "digital numbers on a screen" blow up in his face.

516  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: cryptomoney dice script on: March 11, 2020, 08:40:33 PM
Thanks so much for all your replies but i don't have the time for read all the code source because i am alone on that . It's better if i buy a trust script, do you know a script paying please ?

The fact you have stated you don't have time to check the code is very concerning but your happy for people to risk there funds on some dice script that you won't check for backdoor's either if you don't have time to check the code then you should not be running a dice game where people could lose funds dew to your incompetence.

Why do you think buying a script would be any better security wise just because you have paid for it is not meaning it is secure.

I think you should re-think your process here as your saying you don't have time to check code then how would you have time to run a dice game..

It also sounds like your planning on running it on a shared host which no casino or dice game would do you need to have full control over the process and server and shared host is not something you can do this on.

519  Economy / Services / Advertising Your Product Or Service on: March 10, 2020, 04:08:27 PM
Hello Bitcointalk!

We are looking to add some further crypto advertising to our site we have 4 available spots on our site for banner advertising on a rotation basis or static basis we have been pushing some free advert's for some time now for services like bitcointalk and litecoin and some other project's that we like or used and now the traffic has started to grow over the last 6 months to the point we are now looking to add 4 paid spot's to the site and drop some of the free advertising on the site.

We provide Binance traders access to a wide range of metric for trading and allow custom telegram and email alerts for prices with the growing traffic we feel it's now time to drop the free adverts and look for some paid advertising.

We accept most types of adverts from casino's to exchanges to coin's to mixers we would rather not push ICO's unless the project has some merit and we can verify the details but most other advertising will be accepted.

Our site is currently growing and we have a fair amount of unique traffic and returning traffic each month with a fair amount of click thru traffic being generated for some of the adverts on the site already the traffic is crypto related traffic from trader community using it for price's and direct telegram alerts for price data.

We also have a growing telegram and discord community where we could place some advertising for your project.

Here are some of the banners we have on the site at this time.

Free advert's will be dropped in favor of paid advertising to ensure your product has prime location and view time we can offer rotation or static to suit your needs.
