Regarding VRC/FIAT wallet.  As I have said multiple times now, this is just iteration one.  We are working with moolah to customize the exchange for the wallet, utilize some new features they have on the way, and we will not be dependent on moolah and will be adding other exchanges as well.  VRC/FIAT is not done.  It is a big work in progress and is taking longer than we thought to implement and devise a optimal strategy, but not anywhere near complete.

effectsToCause (Doug) has written yesterday about developing a new method of anonymity that can compete with the best of them.

Tbh, i couldn't care less about anonymity.. What's the big deal with anonymity really!!?? Are we all just drug dealers and scammers that all we care about is anonymity?

I propose the opposite of anonymity, VERIFICATION! As an option of course. Surely a coin like VERIcoin could see the value of true verification attached to wallets?

"Vericoin Verified" anyone?

Which would you feel more comfortable with, sending your money to a merchant with a verified identity, or sending money to a merchant with an anonymous and untraceable transaction??

Seriously, anonymity is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of for a currency that is supposed to be going MAINSTREAM? It's completely counter intuitive..

Lets discuss =)

Why can't we do both...VERIfied and VeriSend!

Being verified would set us apart from the rest of the pack and make us more acceptable as a true currency!

VeriSend could be the anonymous feature for a choice for the user.

We would defiantly get a lot of FUD for implementing this feature of being VERIfied...but again we would be the only coin doing it. Merchants would be put at ease knowing exactly who they are dealing with.

Now THERE'S an idea. We COULD go both routes as long as both are optional

Like socal mentioned we are actually working on both ends of the spectrum, it's pretty exciting stuff.  However it seems that so much of the market variability we have seen is due to buying on rumors and selling on news and all that jazz.  We don't want to give too much power to rumor and news.  It just isn't efficient to work in that context, so we are being a bit more tactful and strategic about announcements regarding the yet to be released features.  However if you watch the hangout tomorrow you will get a more info about what we have been working on.  Also final fix for windows wallet is coming, I'm doing some test builds right now and then we will start working on phase two of the 'Buy VeriCoin' button, which will be more customized for the wallet.

Putting things in perspective, I am going to disagree with Douglas: This kind of panic selling has NEVER happened before in VRC. Sorry but I have been here since the get go and no, not of these dimensions. This is A TOTAL PANIC SELLING DUMP. I'd say ALL traders (by ALL I mean the hugely vast majority) are or have already dumped VRC. Not only them, all the small investors and, of course, all nthe weak hands. It is, in fact, safe to say that most if not ALL of the VRC outside of the 10 million that are staking -as per your count, Douglas-, have been not just sold but probably sold, in panic, a few times in many cases. The proportions of the dump are epic.

That said, we must have reaching the bottom because there should be no more people willing to sell at any moment. This is the community that support VRC, on their own. No outside traders, no outside investors, no groups, no whales. Just like at the beginning or VRC, only enormously more solid. Bottom price will be what will be, but that will be the REAL value of VRC as supported by it's stakeholders.

This gives -should give- the dev a premium opportunity to really stop the presses and evaluate. With perspective. And stop listening to the single requests that have poured here through the panic dump. There's no "saving the coin". The coin is saved. By those 10 million VRC staking and the community that owns them (plus the few million more still on the exchanges but that will not be sold at these prices or below no matter what). That community has given your their full support, especially bin the rollback decision. That community wants you to keep setting higher standards. That community supports regulation -which is coming and is inevitable-. That community doesn't support, regardless of the petitions, a shadow market (decentralized) that serves only interests outside the law. And that community supports every and all efforts to make sure that thieves will not benefit from attacking VRC no matter what, no mattter in one or 100 rollbacks are necessary. The so-called integrity of the block chain is Bullshit. The integrity that you have to defend, because your stake holders demand so, is the integrity of the coin: That the investors are protected and that the vendors are protected. That's the only integrity that counts to the stakeholders and to the future vendors and customers that will adopt Vericoin.

So I invite you to pause, evaluate and take advantage -and a strong forward, proactive position- of the new circumstances and SET THE PATH to follow, whether the other people in crypto like it or not. Your obligation is not to Lee, not to anyone in particular. Your obligation is to those stakeholders thata keep 10 million VRC staking. They have spoken loud and clear to you. You need ton listen to them and act in consequence.

I agree with most of your comments here, and I appreciate your thoughtful contemplation.  This is more extreme than before but something nearly all coins have seen, one time or another.  I also agree this is a ownership reset, and we will be much more poised for strength in the long run!  Remember this is still the early stages...

hey, was 1.3.4 a hard-fork inducing update or can I stay on 1.3.3 if I dont care to use veribit and etc now?

1.3.4 was not a hard fork, just a buy now button

Guys and Gals,

This kind of price drop has happened to us three or four times already since launch, take a look at the charts.  These market fluctuations occur with this and all coins.  If you look at the rich list it is undisturbed.  There is panic sellers and they are relatively small holders, 10 million coins staking and so on.  This is not to say holding doesn't require will, it does, but if you believe it's the right coin, long term holding has the best financial reward.

I have a "Network Alert" coming from my Vericoin wallet. Does anybody know what it means? Anything to worry about?

It's just a reminder for those who didn't update, nothing to worry about.

Hi Guys,

Still ironing a thing or two for the Buy VeriCoin button for some windows builds.  I'll drop update tomorrow that should take care of the white screen some on windows are experiencing.  Some windows and all Mac and Linux clients do not have this problem.  If you do experience the white screen on Buy VeriCoin button push, please message me your windows version and bit.  Thanks.

Anyways I just bought some VRC right now, because it's at a good price. Don't forget what you read previously about creating the best decentralized anon. Your team has the talent for such a goal, one which is more realistic.

Can't give details on it at this point, but we have a great strategy for completely decentralized, efficient, VeriSend, completely rewritten.

Every time before we where at a technical make or break point, we would get news about something "soon". Any chance to make healthy corrections where lost during the pumps. Now I think the day traders realize this won't go up 100% a day everyday and they are panic'd.

F'kin idiots.

Meanwhile, Everyone runs around like a chicken with their head cut off, No leadership, sigh.

Lost 1/3 our value in a day. Anytime I tried to get things on track, nothing. Nobody is near NYC that can try to make an effort to go outside and drop a paper wallet in a few iconic locations and create a game and some buzz about vericoin? Honestly, where is the coordination, the "team" is 3 people and a loosely affiliated gang of helpers is madness. Where do people go to solve issues, and create things for VRC?

I want to help create something big here but the more I think about it. Current money flow is showing that people are giving up on vericoin in masses in the last day alone? How are we going to create anything, bring in any support and create products for vericoin if nobody knows / cares about it?

I am so frustrated its hard to put into words. We can do better, but the more I think about it. Maybe its time to move on if nobody else gets it, or cares to make it better. I am sure someone will chime in and say this or that, but the fact of the matter is the products aren't wowing people enough. The words and hype created was bigger than any feature we released, and this is sad. Simply having a vision to be mainstream doesn't look like its going to be enough.

You sound like a VeriLeader:

For those of you on windows that have a white screen appear after clicking the "Buy VeriCoin" button, we should have this resolved by the end of the day today, or tonight.  Thanks for you patience, nothing else is effected in the wallet by this so you can continue using the wallet normally.

Regarding payout delays for VeriPool:  The Optimized Buying Algorithm saw that the price was sagging and is waiting for the trough to do most of the VeriCoin purchasing.  That is why there is a delay, but you get more coin!

Does any one know if pool payouts are delayed? My last payment from the pool was 7/21.

Same here, last payout was 7/21, a few others in IRC have said the same thing and devs are looking into it I hope.

Last payout for me was just yesterday 7/22.  Pool looks like it is down for maintenance now

EDIT:  Back online

We are currently looking into payout delay issue for some.

We are serious about getting VeriCoin to the masses and we are building a program to achieve this goal! Be a regional team leader for VeriCoin! Telling merchants and the public why VRC and cryptocurrency!  Sign up for the VeriLeader Regional Project if interested:

Seems like I am getting more from my mining, is that due to the price being low ? this is nice

It is due to the lower price, it is nice.

I must have entered the twilight zone...

Haha Barabbas, cheap coins are good for the longer term portfolio.

There is a known issue some are having with the new "Buy VeriCoin" button on some Windows systems.  For certain windows users it's working well, others it is just showing a blank page.  We are actively pursuing the cause of this issue and will be updating you all as soon as possible.  However do note that if you upgraded to the new version, whether the buy button works or not doesn't effect the other functions of the wallet.  So if you have this issue there is nothing to worry about.  We are trying to figure this out as soon as possible.  Mac and linux clients are unaffected by this issue.  If you do have a blank page come up after letting it load for 10 seconds or more, please message me your Windows version and whether you have a 32 or 64 bit system.  Thanks for your patience.

Cannot run wallet : error QtCore4.dll is missing.

?

No expert here but this happened to me with another wallet once.  Norton anti-virus had quarantined that file.  I restored it through Norton and was good to go.  I also told Norton to ignore it in the future.

One sec guys, uploading new installer file

FYI opening the new Mac 1.3.4 wallet I get a popup alert "Current Version: VeriCoin 1.3.3". Needs to be updated.

Thanks will do.
