501  Economy / Gambling / Re: UNREAL!! Sportsbet.io pays out a $42,000,000 USDT Casino WIN!! on: January 05, 2024, 03:53:03 PM
Why does it looks like there's something fishy. Howcome the user recorded a video at the time of playing as if he knew he was about to win the jackpot ?

On the other hand, if this is really true then congratulations to the user whoever has won the jackpot.
I wish he spends the money wisely and doesn't end up in trouble because of it.
502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you see a gambling review website that has its own gambling website? on: January 04, 2024, 04:24:06 PM
I am asking this question because, for me, there could be a possible conflict of interest here.

As a review site running its own gambling site, there might be a concern that they could potentially undermine their competitors on their website to boost their own standing in the competition. This could involve making biased or false statements to praise their own website.

While I'm not certain if this is happening in the real world, it raises the question of whether you would trust a review website in such a case.

It becomes very obvious for anyone to tell that if the review site is owned by someone having his own gambling site then the review will be biased.
I will never trust such a site because they will never post a genuine review. So the review site should be from a person who doesn't own any shares on any gambling site.
Talking about biased reviews, it's not necessary that the review sites which don't have any gambling sites are genuine because even those can be biased.
In fact some people are paid to post positive feedbacks and so it becomes really tough to trust a review site.
So far, there's only one gambling review site that I trust and that is BTCGOSU which has earned it's reputation on this forum over the years.
503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: January 04, 2024, 04:19:09 PM
A gambling expert brought i and some friends a guaranteed predicted game and asked us to stake a a high amount so that we winning could be huge and so we can give him a percentage of the money at winning.

I don't believe there could be a 100% guaranteed game but yet my friends who are eager to make profits in the gambling accepted to play the gamed as instructed and at the end of it, they all loosed the game and at then, the rest of us were happy because we didn't play the game else we would had loosed as others.

I want to ask, do you believe in experts gambling predictions?

Don't you think it really depends on what the bet is placed on. If it's betting on sports then it does make sense because may be the expert knows about the game and the players.
If the so called expert is predicting the bet placed on luck based games or price predictions then there's no point because the result can be anything.

The price will definitely increase if SEC approves the ETF because new money will flow into the market and that will cause a significant boost in BTC price.
I also think a hypothetical approval of ETF by SEC would impact Bitcoin price positively on short term, although the recent news today bring very negative omens about the approval. They say it's not going to happen and that SEC is going to reject every submissions, because the industry still lack guarantees to investors, besides the number of scammers and bad actos being too high in crypto market recently. Could these so called analysts be bluffing? I think so, but their arguments make sense if we put ourselves on the regulators' shoes.

If ETFs proposals are rejected, they believe prices can drop to 36,000$-38,000$ once again... That is not too bad for the short run, and the scenario must be reverted anyway once it's halving time.

SEC will reject all bitcoin spot ETFs in January, says Matrixport analyst

I think it's the big players who are trying to manipulate the market for their benefits. Someone is trying to spread rumors and buy BTC at cheaper price.
We can see that the price of bitcoin is recovering slowly. I feel that the ETFs will be approved but that's just my guess.
Even if it's not approved then the price will still pump up sooner or later. If ETF does not becomes the catalyst then something else will.
505  Local / India / Re: do you want to learn about bitcoin from gary gensler? on: January 04, 2024, 04:00:54 PM
I discovered the youtube channel of MIT opencourseware a long time ago, like more than a year ago and also found the course about blockchain and money by gary gensler.
but until today i didn't even completed 1 episode of that course.
because of procrastination and laziness my mind comes with different ideas to procrastinate like you are feeling sleepy, you will not remember anything by learning at this moment, etc.
so if you guys also had this problem of procrastination and now it's been resolved then please give some tips and technics to stop being lazy.

Also there is a idea in my mind of writing a summary of those episodes and posting it here, to summarize it and stay disciplined, Is this a great idea? does it help anyone to learn something more about money?
this is the playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUl4u3cNGP63UUkfL0onkxF6MYgVa04Fn
tell me if it is good idea to write a summary for each episode or a waste of time?

Start meditation as it will relax your mind and start hitting the gym as it will give you a physical activity and make you feel good.
Watch motivating videos in the morning to get a boost and start your day with good vibes.
Take short breaks and walk around for 5 minutes and come back to work and this will give you peace of mind while working.

As for the summary, I think there's already plenty of information on this forum and repeating it won't be very beneficial.
But you can start telling about what you have learnt to your friends and colleagues. That way even they will get to know something beneficial.
506  Local / India / Re: How does Indian crypto exchange survive? on: January 04, 2024, 03:54:33 PM
the 10% i guess is still enough for them to make it.

india is the country in which crypto is being used all the time. the country has the largest crypto holders amounting to 157M people. they must be profiting still despite the drop in volume.
snip
i got the image from a thread in the local forum. didn't know where they got it. but here is another https://www.binance.com/en/feed/post/1441692

Wow, when did India become the number 1 spot with highest number of crypto holders.
I thought it would be in the top 3 spots but didn't know it was at number 1.
The government has laid out tax laws that are not in favor of crypto and hence a lot of users still refrain from investing in crypto.
Just imagine the growth in that number of users when laws that favor crypto users are established in the country.
507  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ BTCGOSU ⭐ THE ULTIMATE BITCOIN CASINO GUIDE ⭐ CRYPTO AFFILIATE OF THE YEAR 🏆 on: January 03, 2024, 05:01:00 PM
We have just terminated Rollbit on both, BTCGOSU & GOSUBETTING. Even though we have tried to establish contact for many months now (even here on bitcointalk), we have never heard back and that`s more than reason enough to terminate our cooperation and stop recommending the brand. Unfortunately, we had to take such action even though our review verdicts have been positive, but such unprofessionalism does not go well with our mission. We are not recommending any brand that is unavailable when needed to discuss all kinds of things, and most importantly, player issues.

Rollbit has a good reputation but if they are not available to give a clarification then that does raise a concern.
Such a sad thing to see good sites behaving this way and losing their fame.

Wishing the BTCGOSU community a happy new year.  Smiley
508  Economy / Gambling / Re: Finding a Bug on: January 03, 2024, 04:52:47 PM
How does someone go about reporting a bug to a casino a still hold casino accountable to pay a bounty?

Not all the sites pay bounty for a bug reported. Some sites don't pay at all and just say thank you.
Some sites pay a bounty out of their choice and the other sites have a bug bounty program itself.
You have to go through their bug bounty program page for knowing the rewards for the bug types.
Also, you should know how to report a bug because there is a format to do so.
509  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: January 03, 2024, 04:27:21 PM
There we go again. Last time I checked the price of FUN token was around 17 sats making me happy.
Thinking that we are finally pumping now but here we go again as the price has fallen to 14 sats.

Bitcoin price didn’t cross the 45k mark in the December month, and I have lost my bet there. The outcome odds was pretty good for that range. However, the price has reached above $45k today. I'm expecting to see the price above $50k at the end of this month. I can't find out the Bitcoin price betting option of this month in the betting page of Freebitco. Even the cryptocurrency betting option isn't available on the filter. Is there anything wrong?

It's okay. As SATWAT said above, new bets for this month will surely appear on the site in the coming days. Just let the freebitcoin team have a little hangover after the holidays.
As for price predictions, we should keep an eye out for spot BTC ETF news early next week. If the SEC accepts it, the BTC price could rise to $50k or even $54k by the end of January. But there is also an alternative option, as the BTC price could be dumped before the big investors come to the market.

It will be interesting to see the odds for the different ranges. If the SEC accepts it, it can for sure jump up to $50k or even a lot higher but there is no 100% certainty yet also they will approve it and maybe the acceptance of the SEC is already calculated in and it might not have the effect that we expect. Personally, I think we will have a setback first after which the price can rise again.

The price will definitely increase if SEC approves the ETF because new money will flow into the market and that will cause a significant boost in BTC price.
510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Know your facts: Fundamental differences between Bitcoin and Ethereum on: January 01, 2024, 03:30:38 PM
The main difference is that bitcoin is completely decentralized while ethereum isn't.
Bitcoin transaction fees is usually cheaper than ethereum but on the other hand ethereum transactions are validated faster than bitcoin.
Both the coins are different from each other and have their own supporters and haters but can coexist in crypto.
511  Local / India / Re: Shadow Ban on Crypto Exchanges on: January 01, 2024, 02:26:28 PM
Government database is not very secure. There are cases where someone stole data from government database and sold it to other companies.
That's my major concern and the only way around it is if exchanges have some kind of usage access requirements for the government.
Be assured that your data is probably already on the internet, so you have nothing to hide. The government's data leak is very common in India and recent events have made it very clear.

So whether giving KYC data to an exchange is safe or not? Chances are they already have that data and are only cross checking if you are telling the truth.

As long as you are law abiding citizen and are getting the crypto from clean sources, you should be fine. However this is a crude way of saying it.

Well, it's not just about getting KYC data but actually finding out who is owning how much.
May be their plan is to extract tax from these crypto investors and also find out those people who are evading tax.
Money laundering is what they are bringing forward but they will also catch those people who are evading tax, identify crypto scammers etc...
All in all this sounds like a positive move but the only problem is banning URLs won't be sufficient.
The government will find it difficult to catch these people without having any backup plan.
512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I Too Broke To Own Bitcoin? on: December 31, 2023, 02:33:07 PM
To be honest, I don't really own bitcoins because I do not HODL. I always see myself selling my coins due to one issue or another, possibly because I really cannot afford to live my dream of holing until Bitcoin makes me rich.

In practice, I barely earn more than $3000 from my job, my wife's mortgage, and other demands waiting to snap up the money. Sometimes I sell in a bull market, and other times I sell in a bear market. Would you say that holding BTC isn't for everyone? Am I not too broke to depend on Bitcoin for financial freedom? Yeah, I'm working for my financial independence, but Bitcoin has remained a peripheral component of that plan. Only if I can HODL for a few years.

Do you comfortably HODL? 300% is quite a lot. 1000% for me is a dream.

If you are selling your coins for genuine reasons then you are doing good. If you are investing in bitcoin and still paying all the bills then you are doing good.
But if you are spending lavishly or have a luxurious lifestyle and still complaining about not being able to HODL bitcoin then you are doing something wrong.
If you are earning $3000 from your job then you must learn money management to track your money spend it wisely.
513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online or offline gambling which is more safer? on: December 31, 2023, 02:24:31 PM
Sometimes people are always addicted to playing gambling online and this has made them loss alot of funds, due to always topping up theire casino account with there debit card when they loose. and this usually makes them exhaust all there funds.

While those people playing offline in casino halls play with only the little money they have at hand, and that will reduce the risk of over spending. So now my question is this

Playing online or offline gambling which is more preferable in terms of risk reduction?

I still think online gambling is a lot safer than offline gambling. Also, people can buy more coins in offline casinos as well and still continue gambling until they exhaust their bank accounts.
In that perspective, online gambling is better people can gamble from their home without worrying about theft.
I know online gambling accounts can get hacked as well but if they don't keep a lot of money in their gambling account then the chances of losing money in hacks are slim.
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich, average or poor. Who loses more? on: December 31, 2023, 02:11:12 PM
I do not like thread that are long already. I prefer threads that is not more than 1 page long. I went through a long thread this time, some people are quoting me on the thread about who loses more to gambling and I read some replies only to find out that most people are saying rich people are likely to make money than poor people in gambling.

This is the thread
Why the rich win gambling more than the poor.

Is this not contradictory? I am not rich and I gamble and lose more. The same story by many rich people. People said you can not win the house. If more people are registered on a casino or a bookie site, the owner of the site will be happy. Because they know they will have more workers and be able to pay them as they will earn more. If you deposit huge amount, the more the happiness because the house would win at last. This is not about rich or poor. And this only shows more that the rich are likely to lose more.

So why are people contacting themselves. They will say the house would win because of house edge. Now they are also saying the rich would win than the poor. Is it not the others way around that the more the rich spend on gambling, the more the money the rich will eventually lose.

It might be that the rich are the ones who wins and loses more than the poor. It's the both actually.
It's quite simple because they spend more on gambling and thus they win as well as lose more than the poor.
The poor people don't have more money to spend at first place and thus they can never beat the stats of the rich in winning as well as losing.
515  Local / India / Re: Shadow Ban on Crypto Exchanges on: December 31, 2023, 01:58:36 PM

I don't think that exchanges in such a situation would ban VPN. They need that Indian user base and moreover I feel they would comply to the Indian government policy. They don't want to lose the volume Indian crypto users are generating on thier exchanges.
We don't know what the Indian government is proposing in the name of AML and what if they are asking more than they are supposed to know and crossing the limits that no government tried to do?

If exchanges really care about the Indian user base then they might come around or just let the condition be and so people can keep using their service but former is the better for the future of cryptocurrency in India cause our government can highlight the same reason to ban the crypto if that is their ultimate goal.

What else are we providing other than KYC ?

The most they can extract out of the exchanges is the list of people who are into crypto, their KYC details and also the transactions they are making.
I mean, I know that's a lot of information in itself but I think exchanges should have a condition to give it only on requirement basis.
So that the government doesn't have direct access to that information and store it on their database but fetch it in cases of money laundering on requirement basis.
Government database is not very secure. There are cases where someone stole data from government database and sold it to other companies.
That's my major concern and the only way around it is if exchanges have some kind of usage access requirements for the government.
516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not everyone deserves to hear of your winning in gambling. on: December 30, 2023, 02:36:55 PM
Every story you tell someone can either be a motivation or something to get them depressed. I have been thinking about this and I'd like to pass this advice to every serious gambler in this platform who has won a substantial amount of money from gambling, not to share their success story about winning to everyone and in every place. You do not know the story of every gambler, and on the face some gamblers may just look alright but in deep down they are in debt, some depressed due to addiction to gambling that is destroying them and has made them plan to quit. Your success story when shared indiscriminately may trigger and motivate this addicted gambler battling to stop to want to keep gambling, having the believe that their time is close. Be careful who and where you talk about your success in gambling, you may just be encouraging an addicted gambler to continue.

What might seem as a success to one might get the other jealous over him because he himself would have encountered losses.
We have seen cases where people who won big and announced their winnings were either kidnapped or received threats or found their relatives asking them money.
So not everyone is happy for you when you win big. So it's best to keep your happiness to yourself in such cases.
517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The frustrations in loosing a huge bet when your winning was so assured. on: December 30, 2023, 02:30:38 PM
To those who considers making profits a priority in gambling, I have come to observe that it is much more frustrating when you looses your game at when the game was almost over and you were on the safer side (winning) and just a few minute or seconds before the game is over it ended up at your lost.
I come to understand that it is more worrisome when the sure winning opportunities was so huge and got lost lately closed to the end time of the game.

Lol  Grin

You are telling the words of 90% of the gamblers out there because this would have happened with almost every gambler.
The feeling of huge frustration is what you get when you are just about to quit the gamble for the day on positive side but end up losing money in the last game.
But it is what it is. We might as well not play that last game at all. Call it greed or unsatisfactory results but we should know when to quit.
518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: License: is it a guarantee? on: December 30, 2023, 02:23:22 PM
Almost every gamblers notably those that make use of online Casino's for their gambling have the notion that except from a license owned casino they don't use any  casino without a license, which I think is a cautious thing to do.

But have been wondering and wanting to ask, does a license guarantees that a casino won't scam it's customer's going forward.

Guarantee ? No !

There's no guarantee for anything to happen. If a casino site has a license, it does gain some trust but does not mean it cannot scam the users.
May be the probabilities might be on the lesser side since they have declared their identity and location etc...
519  Local / India / Re: Shadow Ban on Crypto Exchanges on: December 30, 2023, 02:15:41 PM
LOLz the government here is like lets ban the URL and nobody can access it. They forget what Proxies, VPNs are and how TOR can also be used to bypass all such rules. Previously we have had Porn ban and that only led to more VPNs running their businesses well in the country. Idiotic 8th standard fail politicians can even speak the C of crypto and they are making rules for the commoners.

However money laundering is rampant through crypto in India but this is not the method to control it.

At least someone had a benefit out of this decision from the government i.e. VPN companies had a rise in traffic.
On the other hand, don't you think there's a little risk if we use VPN or Tor to access our crypto accounts ?
The traffic passes through these VPN tunnels and using Tor or other free VPNs might expose our data to them.
But anyway, I feel that these crypto exchanges will soon comply with AML policies now that the government had made the announcement.

18 satoshis is still very low considering that it was around 45 satoshis when BTC price was around $45k in Sep 2021.
Right now BTC price is around $42k yet FUN token is still only 18 satoshis.
Even I have locked FUN tokens for a year and I hope the price recovers to atleast above 40 sats.

Well, I also noticed that when all other altcoins are making 2x, 3x or even more in the past one month, the price of FUN token hasn't surged much as compared to other altcoins. One reason could be that the gaming coins and the gambling coins are performing as that well as they are unable to gain hype in this market.

I still stick to my point of view that since the FUN token has a use case, in the form of freebitco, so as long as the site is there, we can believe in all the reasons that fun token may perform well sooner or later.

By the way, the Fun token is now 16 Satoshi's but let's keep our fingers crossed for the bull market.

It's all about time. Sooner or later the market will be pumped with more money and altcoins will gain the momentum too.
As of the now, the price of FUN tokens is 17 sats and only time can tell us how much it will be worth in the next 1 year.
Lets just enjoy the premium benefits of holding it until then.

@Betwrong BTW I just got my first GT from WoF spin this week. Count me in for the lambo race, lol.

Hey kid, stop using my big win picture to make yourself look like a bigger scumbag.

Although I would wish you to win big like I did, you are not going to get anything by faking it with my picture so dont repeat this in future or else the people in this thread are going to troll you hard than reddit.

Win it yourself and proudly display your win. Or else go away. Roll Eyes
Well we'll  Grin
Are you being serious bud, like, you mean that is actually your win? How then did he come about the screenshot? and even the winning seed? As I believe that this things are supposed to be private, except you shared them here or else where where he saw and copied them, which I do not think makes sense to me.

I actually believe that you are being sarcastic, what I call sarcastically joking, and again, did you notice that the win is not something that happened recently?
Yeah, that win was from way back 2016 when 0.314 bitcoin was still worth $200, how amazing is that?  Grin

No, he's not joking. He actually won the amount and here's the link to his announcement thread
