My son just showed this to me.  If it wasn't so true it would be hilarious.

Quote
Trading of goods that are illegal in the seller's or buyer's country is forbidden

Gambling isn't "goods," so that rule doesn't apply.  You're attempts to tarnish the reputation high ranking, trusted forum members is starting to resemble grasping at straws.

Speaking of which, where's the proof that suchmoon is a scammer?  Did you get tired of running around that bush, so started this detraction?  Your tactics are so transparent it's laughable.

Lol, I'll wear it as a badge of honor.   Kiss
5104  Other / Meta / Re: Delete 1-2 feedback yearly? on: February 17, 2019, 07:48:02 PM
Will let the post die in shame.

There's no shame in presenting an idea that you feel will have benefit to the forum, even if it does get shot down in flames.   Grin

I don't like the idea automatically removing old trust, or even forcing review of the feedback after a certain amount of time.  I prefer The Pharmacist's approach.  And, if the member want those who left negative feed back to review that feed back, he can post a thread about it in the Reputation board.  It has been demonstrated that can end with positive results.
5105  Economy / Lending / Re: Seeking a loan of BTC, offering collateral on: February 17, 2019, 07:27:52 PM
Thank you for the explanation.  I just had a message from a gentleman in California who was willing to have a look.  He said my collateral would be far too cumbersome.  I'm in Australia after all.

So, if I offer the phone, it must be activated now for the lender?  Is that how it works, essentially so borrowers can't run off with the collateral and steal the loan funds?  And the car transferred in the name of a local lender if he accepts the car, so it can't be damaged, stolen, etc?  Same I guess for the laptop, I have a couple so I figured it would be reasonable for collateral.  And somewhat easy to secure, at least for someone in Australia anyway.

So, the best option is to sell what I don't need (two phones, two laptops, don't need them but would like to keep them...), guitar, even the car?  Then what will I have as collateral if I do this?  Unless I transfer the phone and laptop into the custody of the lender so he knows he has it if needs be?

I'm sorry.  All this is a bit confusing for newcomers.  I still don't understand why I would sell what I don't need and buy it back later, when I need to put up some collateral.  If I sell, no collateral, and no small loan for my project.

It was only a suggestion and to clarify; I was presuming that if you have the money from selling the goods you could use that to fund your project, and you would not need a loan.  As a benefit, you'll have 100% of the value of the goods instead of only 83%.  Typically a lender will want the value of the collateral to equal 120% of the loan amount.

5106  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Green New Deal on: February 17, 2019, 07:09:29 PM
Theorizing aside... what is not a theory is that humans have shown the capacity and will for genocide and depopulation on a massive scale in the past. Pretending it will never happen again is the exact kind of mistake that will allow it to happen again. The difference is this time they will have a better marketing strategy. I am sure it is just a coincidence "environmentalism" and mass depopulation have parallel goals...

That's the crux of the issue, isn't it?  It isn't climate change, it's control.  Control not only of your modes of transportation, but also your thoughts.  They know they won't win a debate peddling a transparent socialist agenda.   So they attempt to peddle it to you hidden and obfuscated by legislating moral virtues.  The newspeak Green New Deal is nothing but a Red Old Scam.

The climate control crowd are the modern day Nazis.  You can't challenge their "extensive research" without being dismissed as a backwoods, right wing conspiracy theorist.  It's ironic they claim to know so much about the climate, and postulate how they are so powerful that they can change the nature of the planet.  But they only demonstrate that human nature is nearly impossible to change.

If you have it in you to see the big picture you can look at almost anything the left does, any action the left takes, and trace it directly back to the quest for the ultimate authoritarian one world government.

Try me.. I will show you..
I am curious to see any leftist policy that I can't relate to advancing their quest of an ultimate authoritarian one world government to gain ultimate power..

They don't have solutions to problems, they only want to beat you over the head with all the problems for which you're to blame.  That way they can justify taxing the shit out of you under the guise that will fix the problem.  But of course history demonstrates that only generates more problems...  For which, you're to blame.

5107  Economy / Lending / Re: Seeking a loan of BTC, offering collateral on: February 17, 2019, 05:39:23 PM
Sorry to say this but seems like you want to sell your stuff, instead of putting them for collateral.
Collateral will be return to you if you repay, so the pawn shop would be the fastest and safest way.

You still though continue to offer new things like it's a bazaar or such... Roll Eyes

Why do you say that?  I'm offering collateral, I would rather not sell anything.

I was under the impression the collateral offered would give me chance.  I'm getting mixed signals here.

If you're such an expert in my psychology, please feel free to explain.

Condoras is being skeptical, and rightfully so.  There are a lot newbies that show up here and ask for "loans" and offer collateral that they really would prefer to sell.  Taking a small hit on the value of their collateral could be a small price to pay if the item is hard to sell in a timely manner.  Don't take it personally; any body who offers to fill a loan on these boards should enter into such an agreement with a healthy level of suspicion and scrutiny.

Some of the collateral you offered would be really troublesome, and may require some expense to secure as honest to goodness collateral.  For example; If a lender accepts a smart phone as collateral, the phone must be activated by the lender before he can be sure it won't be reported as stolen and subsequently bricked.  Obviously the car would be a similar situation.

I understand your reluctance to go to a pawn-shop; they will only give a small fraction of the value of the goods you pawn.  That might not provide enough money for your project.

My suggestion is to sell everything you don't need, that can be replaced in the future.  If you are confident in your project, you'll be able to buy that stuff back later down the road.  Just a suggestion, worth everything you just payed for it.

Best of luck.

@TECSHARE

I don't think that your argument is false in anyway, and I'll say again; I agree with your agenda and philosophy.  We all live in societies of laws, and it's always best when those laws are unambiguous.  I just don't think that, strictly speaking that has to be the way a forum is operated.  It is just an internet forum.

To risk playing devils advocate; you said it yourself:

As far as I have read, Theymos actually considers himself "some what of a anarcho-capitalist"...

That argument alone demonstrates that he's less likely to implement a rigid set of guidelines for trust.  And after all, it's his forum to operate as he sees fit.  There are several illegal activities that play out here on the forum, and Theymos does little to prevent them.  Some of those illegal activities are conducted legitimately, and people participate in them willingly.  Some are down right scams.  That's what I would expect from a self described anarcho-capitalist.  The trust system applied the way it is allows the community to determine what is what is not trustworthy behavior despite the lack of rigid guidelines.  It can lead to inaccurate ratings, but it can also be worked out when errors occur.

I certainly don't claim it to be perfect, but what set of rigid guidelines is perfect?  Cryptocurrencey was born, and adopted out of the desire and need to decentralize wealth.  A relatively libertarian and anti-authoritarian philosophy, and it's likely to attract those who would like to put that philosophy into practice.

5109  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Declares National Emergency Over Border Wall on: February 16, 2019, 09:53:26 PM
The wall is probably not going to change things much. The country is too big to wall it in. What about entering from the sea?, what about entering from Canada?

As long as they are white the right wing doesn't care, it's the "brown" people that the right wing crack pots want to keep out!

There you go again, always blaming racism.  That's the argument you use when you really don't have an argument.  I work with a whole lot of Mexican immigrants, the legal kind.  Many of my coworkers are descendants of long-time American families of Hispanic origin.  My family is comprised predominantly of "brown" Arabs.  We all have one thing in common, we're Americans first.  We want what's best for our country.

It's not the color of the Canadians' skin that makes us not want them here, it's the fact that most of them are commies.
5110  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: nutildah -scam account on: February 16, 2019, 04:26:24 PM
Lol, the best part about this thread, is the plagiarism.  I'd like to say good bye, but good riddance is more fitting.

This scammer's profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=317618

He took out two loans, and one bond on btcpop.co, a peer to peer crypto lending site.
(To view any of these links, you have to sign up. You can either use a temp email service, or just open a real account.)

This is the bond of .16 BTC https://bitblender.io/
This is the first loan of .1 BTC  https://bitblender.io/
And this is his second "instant" loan of .066 BTC https://bitblender.io/

I PMed him here, and threatened to ruin his reputation here, if he didn't come back and repay his debts, even if that just means partial payments for now.

He admits it is his account.
Even if he could somehow argue that he "didn't" take those loans, he still deserves a negative rep for being an account seller. If he is willing to do it on btcpop, you can be sure he'd try it here.

He is also a scammer on Reddit's loan pages, although he has deleted his account there:
https://www.reddit.com/r/borrow/comments/7p91dq/unpaid_uonnz423_vantaa_uusimaa_finland_40_4_days/
https://www.reddit.com/r/borrow/comments/7r3hy9/unpaid_uonnz423_vantaa_uusimaa_finald_50eur_a/

He's still around on bitcointalk, and still doing signature campaigns. Please don't let this thief continue to make profits here.
If y'all have any questions about him, I'll be more than happy to share everything I know.

I wasn't going to tag him as maybe he removed the malware in the wallet, but as he has now posted a stupid retaliatory scam post against nutildah - I have now tagged him.

Good work nutildah.

I reported him for plagiarism for posting that stupidity.  His days here are numbered.

It doesn't exist just like his abilities to think rationally. Cheesy You're right, I came for a serious discussion but leaving with giggles.

And this is why the ignore feature is useless.  Feeding trolls makes the whole world dumber, but it can be hilarious.

5113  Other / Meta / Re: Merit number indicator on showPost list ? on: February 16, 2019, 03:19:30 PM
Merit number indication on " show last post of this person" list.
Is this possible, is this a good idea, is this necessary and useful?

I think it may come in handy as a utility for campaign managers.
Most of campaigns today, exclude posts in local boards. Understandable cause polyglottism is ultra rare.
But if a manager could spot, that local community finds a post merit worthy then maybe he could consider including it as pBTC2p?

Interesting suggestion.  I see no reason not to have the merit count for a post when looking through post history.

And it's an interesting argument you make about campaign managers, and giving them a fast way to notice if the local community appreciated the post.  Not all campaign managers deny payments for posts made in local boards, while some deny payment for posts made in several English boards as well.  I think it has a lot to do with the service that's being advertised, and whether the topic fits.

Also, it's about advertisement, and that means reaching eye balls.  Certainly some of the local boards have a lot of traffic, but many do not.  I would not want to be the campaign manger who has to defend his decision to include one local board while denying others.

Again, I see no reason not to implement your suggestion, but I don't think your justification is a valid enough reason.
5114  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Declares National Emergency Over Border Wall on: February 16, 2019, 03:08:20 AM
I think we all knew this was going to come sooner or later,

So did the Democrats.  They pushed Trump into it, thinking it would ruin him.  All that after trying to get $40 billion for "border security."  More like $40 billion for Fast and Furious.  It's going to backfire (pun intended.)  Americans want a secure border, while petty Democrats merely want to prevent a "Trump Wall" sprawling across hundreds of miles across our southern border.

Incoming national emergency in 2020 for gun violence, climate change and national debt!  Look for the democratic POTUS to usurp congress at every possible opportunity!!!

Why would Trump call for a national emergency for any of those things?  You can't have a national emergency against the constitution.  The 9th circus can only delay the inevitable...  With six more years of Trump the 9th circus might start looking like a real court again.

Wasn't his campaign promise that Mexico would pay for the wall?

And they are, in a round about way.

Trump is working for the best interest of Americans, and having a POTUS who does was long overdue. Fixing border security is getting to emergency status.  If problems such as drugs, human trafficking, and thousands of illegal immigrants don't qualify as an emergency, I don't know what does.  To put things into perspective: Democrats don't want to spend more $1.375 billion to protect Americans, but they'll spend tens of billions per year on foreign aid or some random boondoggle.  California's governor has over $3 billion of federal grant money that he would rather squander on a train he knows won't get finished, than give it back to help pay for the wall.
5115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC for $25 worth of XLM? on: February 16, 2019, 01:44:51 AM
As I understood it, KYC Blockchain wallet itself.  And not exactly Airdrop Stellar.  This verification allows you to exchange crypto inside the wallet.  So personally, I agree to this KYC.

I've been looking at it a little more carefully, Blockchain is starting to bill themselves as an exchange, and the KYC is for trading in that capacity.  I think they are using this air-drop to lure people to use their new service, but to get the air-drop you need to submit KYC.  I don't think the staff of Blockchain will do anything nefarious with my info, and it's not like they can glean much information about me from my driver's license.  None the less, I think I'll pass for now.
5116  Other / Meta / Re: I need help, reason why banned me! on: February 15, 2019, 02:14:30 AM
But was he banned for buying an account? Or he was banned by plagiarism, and then the new account for Ban evasion?

Account Mikuhashi was banned, and nuked, so technically mutrang23 was evading the ban.  I don't know if that's the reason mutrang23 was banned, there may have been plagiarism.  I spent a little time reading through the post history, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the actual reason.

BTW Chacon994 is not banned as far as I can see... so make sure to report it.

Done.  Thanks for reminding me.

I'm sorry for being slow, but how does Mikuhashi connect to this?

It's a little convoluted, I don't remember exactly how I came upon that, but I think I was searching for the telegram username @mutrang23, and saw this:

I saw that telegram username @mutrang23 had been posted along with twitter username @KhangBap.  All of Mikuhashi's posts have been deleted, but I found this quote:

It is legit but i still wouldn't do it. If someone said to you i want to buy your ID for $25 would you sell it to them? That is basically what you are doing, and i wouldn't do that even if they are a legitimate company

That's basically how I feel about it.  Not that my Driver's license has enough information that could be used to steal identity.  I just get suspicious anytime I'm asked to prove my identity.
