It's going to be like every single other 'OMIGOD WE'RE GONNA DIE' threat that's popped up since minute one. An acceptable solution to all will eventually be hammered out. If you want to panic then rent a cinderblock bunker in the woods, line it with rubber, put on a helmet and beat yourself around the head and throw yourself at the walls until November. It'll be a great workout. By launching BCH Bitmain have already fucked the NYA. Everyone else will slowly fall away. Just replace-by-fee split your coins to both chains and you are good to go. A little bit more complicated than the replay protected split with BTH, but still doable. |

Does mid of 2013 count as an old hand ? I kind of feel like afbitcoins. Mostly I'm quite disengaged which is quite strange when I stop and think about it, maybe the numbers on my spreadsheet are becoming too abstract?
These numbers are somehow decoupled from reality. Most of the day I am running around with a smile or shaking my head in disbelief. I am full in Bitcoin and am still buying every month with the same amount of fiat. Never change a running system I guess ? Other than that I am writing my master thesis on cryptography/blockchain scripting related topics. I'll try my luck in a bank company doing hopefully crypto portfolio management for clients. A weird career change for a rocket engineer, but what can you do when you are infected by the crypto virus?  |

SegWit2x developers and miners are not backing down from their intention to hardfork in November, while the upcoming update for Bitcoin Core client will be automatically disconnecting SegWit2x nodes.
The possibility of chain split looks very high, which raises a few questions.
How exchanges will be naming Bitcoin chains after split - will they name one as a Bitcoin, or rename both to something like Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin2x?
What will be the prices for those coins? How their value will change after a few months?
Will combined value of both coins increase or decrease?
in my honest opinion,everything will be same like what they did before. look at it back when the chain split,everbody buying Bitcoin in order to get an airdrop from the split. afterwards,people starting to sell the airdrop aka Bitcoin Cash to buy more Bitcoin. So,what will happen in the next chain split again ? i guess we will see something like this again,hopefully it will because no matter what will happen as long Bitcoin price surge and rise. everything is will be fine, and i don't care about other coin from the splitting.no only me obviously many people will think same like me I don't think the situation of the BTC/2X fork is as clear as the situation of the BTC/BCC fork. |

anybody else smell a correction?
I'm thinking that it is quite likely that we will experience a 30% or more correction on or before $6k. OMFnG!!!!!!  I have a horde of relatives, which are waiting for a correction to finally dip their toes in crypto currencies... Why was no one listening 3 years ago ? |

I have to admit, I love the current 50 sat/byte transactions confirming in the next block.  Best time to reorg wallets with many tx's. bitcoinfees.21.co says around 200 for next block confirm? where are you getting the 50 sats figure from? Yeah, it seems to rise a little. A few hours ago I was sending a lot of transactions (I could almost call that spam) to combine many tx addresses in a few single tx addresses with a fee of 50 sat/byte and most of them got immediatly included in the next block or at latest in the 2nd, eventhough the mempool was still bigger than >20 MB. Luckily I am done now. |
