Here is the first rough draft of the ROI Coin Roadmap.

You need to review it and suggest any changes for community discussions.

This is your coin so you definitely need to be fully involved in this road map.

ROI Coin Road Map 1st Draft

I'm trying to click on it and is not bringing me to any roadmap link.

We just released that roadmap graphic and it is up for discussion/review/adjustments. We haven't put together a complete landing page for it yet but can do that once we get the graphic finalized..

Any profit calculators out there? i just found this coin and installed wallet to start mining i have FX 8350 Octacore . I hit it with 3 core but only get 50hs seems low . how long to find a block at this rate roughly?

We haven't had time to put together a profit calculator yet. 50HS is really low and I seriously doubt you would have any luck solo mining with that...
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ROI] ROI Coin | CPU Only Solo Mining Hybrid | 15% POS | 593% Term Deposit on: December 12, 2017, 07:33:14 PM
One of my term deposit has been showing this - Matured (Warning: this amount is no longer earning interest of any kind)

what do I do now ? How to bring the coins back to my main account so that I can deposit them again

thx

That warning means the term deposit has finished and so the coins are no longer getting any ROI.

You have to now move those coins and "reset" them.

Please go to top of wallet and click "Receive coins" tab and create a new address. You may want to label it something like "Reset Stake Coins 12-12-2017" so you can keep track of things in your wallet.

Now go back to top of wallet and click on "Settings" and then click on "Options"

Now click on "Display" and then find check box "Display coin control features (experts only) and check that box then click apply and click OK

Now back to top of wallet and click "Send Coins"

In the "Pay To: box paste the receive address you made for "Reset Stake Coins 12-12-2017" and then find and click the "Inputs" button

Scroll down and find this term deposit with the warning. Double check and make sure that it is the exact amount and is a perfect match. Check the little box on the left for that entry and click OK

Now look at the Amount: that is displayed and copy that amount.

Now enter that Amount in the Amount: box and click the Send button.

You have now created a new receive address, used coin control features to locate that completed term deposit, sent those coins to yourself, and reset them for staking.

Now when you go to top of wallet and click "Overview" check again and verify that the term deposit coins with the warning is now gone...

Each time a term deposit completes you will need to do this procedure to "reset" it.

hey congrats on the new website as i said earlier and on the new wallet.

thanks for the invite to work on this project but i have too many other things to do right now.

i was just hoping to fix the wallet let the community decide where to go from there.

i see the negative balance issue was addressed as well. you should speak to the support at coinexchange.io.

they have been holding powercoin offline for quite awhile until the negative balance issue is addressed.

good luck with this project and i hope you do well with it.

Smiley

I have been through the code for 2 days now and I do not see any changes to the wallet. As far as I can determine the current wallet is the same as before. Yobit has de-listed trading for PWR and I would be very surprised if CoinExchange would bring it back online but you never know...

Very nice! I think this is very usefull for new users if the can see the plan for 2018. I also like the design of the roadmap! What is the current state of the whitepaper?

The whitepaper is being worked on and will be done very soon and ahead on schedule.

Due to numerous incoming requests we have modified the CryptoCap World site so that all coins now show the BTC value!  https://cryptocapworld.com/
527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PWR] POWERCOIN - Distributed Computing made easy [NOW TRADING] on: December 12, 2017, 02:15:23 AM
Numerous people in the community including myself have had an issue with the Power Coin Wallet showing a negative balance. I am not going to go
into the boring technical details of why this happened but just suffice it to say that the numbers became too big for the wallet to handle them.

If you are looking to correct this situation so you can be able to not lose your coins and also be able to participate in the upcoming changes for this coin here is a quick tutorial I put together that you can follow to get your balance back positive again. I've run the procedure and tested it out and can verify that it does work.

How to fix your negative wallet balance in Power Coin QT

Step 1:
Open the powercoin.conf file and add: staking=0
This will stop the staking so you can stabilize the wallet and coins. The hyper staking problem hasnot yet been repaired in the source code.

Step 2:
Create 2 or more copies of your wallet.dat file and move them to a safe place. This is a safety precaution in case something goes wrong and you need to repeat the procedure.

Step 3:
In wallet at top click on "Help" then click on "Debug Window" then click on "Console" tab. In the console command line enter:
walletpassphrase yourpasswordgoeshere 600
and then hit enter.

Step 4:
While you are still using the console command line type in: dumpprivkey publicaddressgoeshere
Bear in mind if you have more than one public address you will have to repeat this step for each and every public key that you have in that wallet.

Step 5:
Step 4 gives you the private key in the console. You must copy that and move it to a notepad. Repeat this for each and every public key and create a copy and paste of each and every private key from doing step 4.

Step 6:
Close this wallet and then delete the wallet.dat file. Restart the wallet and it will have zero coins a brand new empty wallet.dat file and let it run and stay synched.

Step 7:
Go to a 2nd computer (different computer) and install Power Coin and add the same line to the  powercoin.conf file that was added in step 1: staking=0
Now launch the wallet and let it begin syncing.

Step 8:
BEFORE the wallet synchronizes completely at top of wallet click on "Help" then click on "Debug Window" then click on "Console" tab. In the console command line enter: importprivkey yourprivatekeygoeshere Bear in mind that you will have to repeat this command and import each and every private key that you
were able to obtain in step 4-5.

Step 9:
AFTER you have imported these keys and BEFORE the wallet synchs go and get a receiving address from the 1st computer. Now go to the 2nd computer and enter that receiving address from the first computer and send 99000000 coins. Repeat this process enough times that you reduce your balance below 90 billion. In
other words look and see how much your balance is and if it is 91 billion then send a little more than 1 billion coins.

Step 10:
These sent transactions will show as a Conflict in the transaction register but that is good news and don't worry because we have to burn off some of these coins and get the balance down a bit. Now close the wallet. Open up the .conf file again and now add -zapwallettxes=1 and save it and reload the wallet.

Step 11:
Wait until the wallet completely synchronizes and now you will see your balance is not negative. At this time I would recommend you subdivide the wallet into 2 or more wallets. Just create receiving addresses in 2 or more wallets and send coins until you reduce the balances down to a more reasonable level. If you decide to start staking again you will have to edit the .conf file and make staking=1 or if you like you can just delete that line because staking=1 is actually the default setting.

Step 12:
Learn and proceed with caution. If you choose to stake the coin keep in mind that if you allow the balance to go to high it will again become negative and you will have to repeat all of this labor.

One last thing. This coin is not dead yet and don't be so fast to write it off Cheesy

Hello my message is for devs, did there are some Roadmaps, Master Plan, Goals for this coin for the next 5 years.
Because its a CPU oriented coin, what about an Mobile Apps for wallet and mining?

I also think the logo need some change, not a bad logo, very cool, but as an ICON it hard to see. Imagine you have to fit the logo in a APPS at the top...it kind of fit strange.
To compare I really love the DASH coin universe.

Marketing, Security easy of use see key point.

ROI is doing a very good job.

I can be critical, but im kinda impressed for a so young coin.

I Hope community to bring some good ideas and make it in the 50 top COIN.

All the best!!!
Frank

Very interesting post! We have been working on our road map and will have it released very soon. We are looking at mobile apps for Android and iPhone however they will be a lightweight app with just basic functions and won't be able to do any mining. We've already tested out the online paper wallet and are now working on dressing up the appearance.. it will be ready very soon. The block explorer is nearly 100% done now and another very cool feature was added today that shows you the total network hash over time. We are open to logo suggestions and if anyone wants to submit a logo for community feedback go right ahead and do that. Marketing is idling and ready for a big push once we stabilize after the fork.

We have already paid to be listed at Yobit but the fork is putting that on hold until after the end of the month. We have also submitted at KUcoin and here again we will need to wait until post fork and see everything running stable and smooth.

Interesting ROI tidbit: at one point the total network hashrate was almost 400k h/s! http://46.101.241.241:3001/hash

Hello,

Very nice of the update.

I have one question only. I want to transfer my wallet to another pc. How do I do that? Or can I place it on a USB-stick?

Thanx and keep up the good work

I would put a copy of your wallet.dat on a USB stick then install wallet on other pc then delete the empty wallet.dat from the install and copy in the backup wallet.dat file.

Are you going to have a portuguese translation? In addition to CoinsMarkets, are you planning to list in other exchanges? What are the main characteristics of Coin?

I think a Portuguese translation has become mandatory. We have been very fortunate to have a lot of interest from Brazil and already a small community has formed at the website and created a mining group there. You would have a laugh at me copying and pasting English/Portuguese chat in Google translator trying my best to give support at the website and Facebook...

Do you have bounties for translation? Is it language specific or equal for all?
What is the required scope of translation (bitcointalk thread, www, pool etc.)?

Yes we do have bounty translations and we've paid the same bounty each time. The scope of the translation is to do the original ANN announcement thread and keep all of the original formatting. Easiest way to do that is quote that thread and then you can just translate while leaving all the formatting tags in place.

The Portuguese translation is already taken but it isn't finished yet.

We will be on other exchanges besides CoinsMarkets but it just doesn't make sense to get that done until after the fork is completed and the coin is post-fork stable.

Main Characteristics:

  • Community centered coin that moves forward and evolves based on community feedback
  • Triple hybrid coin with POW, POS and term deposits
  • A focus on simplicity for new users with features such as one click wallet mining
  • A focus on low bar interest gains with no need to unlock the wallet or keep it running day and night
  • MIDAS difficulty adjustment algo to protect the chain from big hash swings
  • 360 blocks required on mining confirmations as a security enhancement
  • 2 minute block timing and 1MB block size for speedy transactions
  • 1 GB AES pattern search algo that is CPU only and resists Asic and GPU
  • Unique payout on POS and term deposit block by block with no competition as each wallet gets the identical interest rates
  • The coin has substantial financial backing from day one which will provide for aggressive paid marketing

Inflation will never be an issue with ROI coin end of story.

The community will give input and interest payouts will be adjusted as needed to control inflation.

When a coin is only a couple of weeks old and only 70,000 coins are for sale worldwide it is way premature to start worrying about interest payouts.

So the interest rates will decrease over time?
Is there any mechanism to do that? Or it will be introduced by a new fork?

It is not pre-built into the code. The community will decide when to reduce interest payout and how much to reduce it. In the very beginning we need to build some coin supply and market cap to get the coin moving from the start. Yes there will be a fork when it comes time to lower interest payouts...

Important announcement:

ROI coin is currently at block 17000 and will hard fork at block 25000 on our about
December 15th. You need to download and update to the newest wallet version prior to the fork. You can find
the wallet at https://roi-coin.com/roi-coin-downloads or https://github.com/ROIcoin/ROIcoin/releases

If you have any questions about doing the update please refer to the Release Notes at the  GitHub link above.

So, this hardfork will fix the term deposit interest issue?

I have just installed 1.1.0.0 and found that 12 months term deposit still with very high interest.

Yes it will fix it but not until after the fork. Even if you load the new wallet it is going to term deposit on pre-fork code right up until the fork. We decided to do it this way because we do not want the community to experience any change in their existing term deposits that were prior to the fork if that makes sense.

Then if I see now Maturation Date 2019/02/03 (I was deposited for 12 months) that date will be decreased automaticaly after the fork? Or nothing will changed.

The fork will have no impact on maturation dates. Rather, maturation dates are a coin unlock prediction based on the timing of the blockchain. You may notice that maturation dates will change if you check them day to day and this is because this time is calculated and recalculated based on the most current data. What varies here is the blockchain timing. While it's true the code is set to move the blockchain at 2 minutes per block... the MIDAS algo comes behind that and will adjust blockchain timing dynamically based on several things such as current block chain timing, expected block chain timing, total network hash rate etc.

We did anticipate that the MIDAS algo would tend to slow the block chain timing as opposed to speeding it up and so when we did initial determinations of POS and term deposit rates we did elevate them to compensate for this. Up until such time that the network hashrate stays fairly stable we are presuming a potential 20%-25% reduction in target blockchain timing. In other words, the target timing of 2 minutes could be 2.4-2.5 minutes. As we move forward, rest assured that we are monitoring the block timing and in the future and if deemed necessary we may adjust the MIDAS algo.

Bear in mind that our emphasis is on security and protecting the blockchain from massive hashing movements. You see what can happen is some may have the horsepower to "game" the system and by this I mean they can apply and un-apply large amounts of hash quickly and thus manipulate block timing in an effort to harvest many coins quickly. This is not good because if we do not protect from it someone in the know could swoop in and harvest a bunch of blocks quickly and then exit leaving the community sitting there for a long time unable to mine any blocks at all.

It's sad that we do have to anticipate attacks and then be ready for them but it is what it is. We feel that protecting the coin and it's community from such evildoers is more critical than having a blockchain that cracks a block every 120 seconds regardless of the dangers...

Hello I'm new to ROI Coin or cryptos in general.
I currently have the old wallet.
Now with the fork approaching I need the new wallet.
Do I therefore need a new address aswell?
I have some coins in my current wallet in a deposit for 12 months. Do i keep the interest rate from before the fork or will it change?
Thank you in advance

You won't need to worry about wallet address.

Your coins that are deposited for 12 months will be just fine but you really should make a backup of your wallet.dat file before upgrading just to be safe.

You will keep the interest rate that you had before the fork.

After the fork if you term deposit coins the interest rate will be the proper amount and it will stay steady and not climb higher.

Thank you for your interest in the coin and welcome to the community and crypto in general!

What will happen if i have a wallet that I cannot update before the fork, I only use it to send some term deposit coin, its ok if I update after?

If your wallet is not updated at the time of the fork you will be banned from the network. You won't be able to mine, send or receive coins. Your existing coins will be fine and you won't lose them.

Hi,

So I have around 15 machines mining ROI at the moment and they all run their own wallets for mining and then payout to a centralised wallet. I will be away for a while and am just worried about this banned notion. Exactly when should we be updating our wallets and is it enough to update the central wallet which holds all the mined coins?

thanks

From what I gather, if your wallet isn't updated at the time of the fork, it would be on the old network so if your 15 machines are connected and mining on the old wallet, you will basically be creating your own chain. Any blocks you mined on the old wallets after the fork would be invalid.

CryptoRX is exactly right on this. You need to update all of your machines to the new wallet before the fork. You can upgrade today if you like and you can mine, send, receive and term deposit now and up to the fork and through the fork. We had no choice but to do a hard fork and hence the banning and this is because the interest is too high and it is climbing. This made the hard fork and banning necessary otherwise people would continue with the previous wallet and the higher and gaining interest rates.

I would like to buy your coin, but do not know how to synchronize the block chain? Never engaged in mining.
In general, the coin seems very attractive for investment. The price will definitely grow.

If you install the wallet and just open it and let it run it should synchronize automatically fairly quickly...
