The fact that my post was deleted yesterday and continues to be deleted today is quite disappointing. Strategies like this as well as non accounted for auxiliary "moderator" accounts used delta9dev tend to imply there is something to hide, the fact that you are still not willing to identify yourself while deleting other user content is making this more likely and apparent to me. Please consider this as a concern from the community and not as an attack, the lack of transparency is what has brought me to address this.

Yes, my apologies for rising to the need to address Jamesonotc's fire lighting attempts. It makes for one boring thread doesn't it? Sadly though, he does manage to frighten some CANN holders by making them think significant security vulnerabilities exist where in fact none do. So the promotion, distribution... whatever one may decide to call it, of Solarcoin is a total disaster and no one is actually claiming the solarcoins they are entitled for... and this is a problem if not the major/only problem of this project. In fact, no one knows that if they install a solar system, they are entitled to receive solarcoins. I will go even further: Not even the professionals, know about this. Or Solarcoin as a project altogether. Is this, really, the main/only problem of this project? I would think it is...

The reason no one knows about Solarcoin is, obviously, because no one cares. Who would even hear they are entitled to some WORTHLESS reward? In many cases it would be considered, first, suspicious (someone is trying to sell me something else...0 and second, an insult (if you are going to give me anything, that it would be at the very least, worth enough to buy a sandwich...). Solution: Offer a REAL REWARD. Who was the inventor of the 1§ per 1 KW? And why such absurd thing remains in place? If we REALLY want to be noticed, to be taken seriously, it is beyond evident that the reward has to be changed, from something halfway between suspicious and an insult, to something that can be considered a reward, even if minimal, but at least with some substance.
I propose that exchange will be hiked to 1 KW = 100 §. And lets see what happens. Since the previous rate has proven an absolute failure by any measure, I'm quite sure that new rate will make a significant departure. The hike also applies, obviously, to the commissions by those who sign people to the program, so it will be really worthwhile to get people to do it.

Anyone with 3 bucks could buy up the total mining supply of slr coins every day  Slr is very tight supply coin in terms of litecoin/bitcoins there is only 750 a day made in litecoins case 1200 are minted an hour.You forget about the Claims that could come in every day. Millions of SLR can hit the market... I hope the claims start pouring in. That's the goal of the project. Every claim increases users/value. In reality, if we can get those large farms to start making claims, the value will snowball. Eventually things will work out. |

I'm not worried at all about the progress of Solarcoin. There is plenty of action going on in the background, like progress on the PoS wallet, and the inflation problem has been cut to almost zero. This isn't a short term project, it will take many months for things to really take off, but when they do it will be self evident the need for this technology.

I think that depends on the respective teams approaches. One team is exploring building a web based wallet and claims process using a RESTful approach which would be easily deployable as a thin client across platforms.
The other team is using a claims database approach with a loosely coupled wallet which will likely be hot linked over time. In terms of the two groups approaches to open sourcing and sharing the solutions they build that is to be determined by them. As the groups get farther along they may share ideas and there planned progress etc. It's early days, but we are excited to have talented and motivated people who are connected with the solar industry working to grow the user who are claiming and using SolarCoin.

Sounds great just make sure the hot wallets do not contain to much slr in case of a hack. Thanks everyone! Hopefully the online wallets are being designed as brain wallets so there is no wallet key to hack. If you used a complex enough password it would be impossible to break the key, unless there was a keylogger present. |

OK. POSv development with the new developer started yesterday. I will keep everyone posted with needs for testing, alpha codes, progress etc. Please note I will be slow to give out ship dates etc. as I don't want to get anyone too excited. When possible code/pull requests will put up etc. and of course any alpha testing and etc. by the solarcoin community will be appreciated. For what it is worth, yesterday I had breakfast with the founder and head of Areday http://www.areday.net/summit/areday_2014.html in Aspen who knows the founder of Solarcity among other renewable energy luminaries. Once we have POSv and some easy to claim website partners up I will circle back with her about intros and other SLR related conversations. We need to get PSOV and a super easy claims process in place. I have person looking at building a US claims website, but welcome others to help the effort. The operating model is independant website claim facilitating wallet, which makes it easier for consumer (no blockchain download etc.). the owner of the website can claim the 10% refferal bonus if the individual agrees and or a yearly maintenance fee. It is kind of like a banking model. A team is at work on this in Europe and maybe japan (luke?) thoughts? I greatly appreciate everyone's patience while we build ease of use and value into the process. This is where your so called percentage of money creation took place yet 11 Trillion was underhandedly handed to the banks as a TARP. And we all know that a tarp is used to cover something up. Why would the creation of this type of money even matter anymore. Yet these are the basis of your knowledge and books as inference to what you know about how an economy or monetary supply should evolve from. Where does the money go into this Black Hole of Derivatives created by securitized loans on bad assets? Only further deluged by the separation of the title to a pool of investors who can not change terms of the loans for those properties who just needed to restructure their loans with their BANKS! How this money is leveraged fraudulently is more important than how it is made by the banks. This only shows the blaring problem reflected by the fact that SolarCoin (or any other Alt Coin) must accept FIAT for their T-Shirt as if we expect the conundrum should give us all the shirt off its back if all we do is put a logo on it. Your first principle is flawed. Banks don't create money, they create debt and the Federal Reserve siphons a percentage of that debt payable to their shareholders which happen to be unknown. |

Got kinda a lot of $CANN I think big things are coming. Is there any form of update plan though for the coin?
