I appreciate the offer to host this wiki, I have existing hosting and have already started the configuration of the set up.  I would greatly appreciate you help on this project.  I will pm you early tomorrow with a link.

Thank you all
Mtnminer

I can give all the photos here and my input to this too.

One of my fans is not attached to the plug and has been directly soldered onto the board. Is that normal?

That is normal. TPLink board cannot give enough power for 2 fans so second fan takes power from Avalon board.

this could be maybe helpful for you http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1w0wpm/the_reason_the_price_is_going_down/

but it's not a really big drop. it's nothing if you see what has happen in the last year.  Cheesy stay calm and hold!

Yes time is to HODL
Keep mining.

Try --avalon-fan 20 to cgminer options, last field in config it should lock the fans to 2200 which is not bad. See if it overheats.
chips on blow-out side of the board already have 90°C (IR thermometer)

should i still risk to calm the fans?

Chips are always hot they dont die in 90c
Hard to say without being there. I would try it if noise bothers... still it might overheat. Touching the heatsinks will give some feeling how it cools. If you can touch the heatsinks without burning your fingers your good to go. My ambient temps are low in warehouse but this is what i get with OC.

If you cant hold your fingers at the heatsink it's too hot.

7hours solid. But my fans are not locked to 2200 in this unit and it's OC 1500... it's in warehouse 16c atm. Try it, it wont fry if you watch the temps.

545  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 24, 2014, 10:18:41 PM
So, i finally got it.  Lips sealed pix -> http://imgur.com/a/CZqFE

and yeah that termal sensor is strange, a ntc one, fans runs faster the colder it becomes
still no clue where it should be put for optimal temp/speed control

Lucky you... got somewhat ok unit. Try --avalon-fan 20 to cgminer options, last field in config it should lock the fans to 2200 which is not bad. See if it overheats. With that 205GH/s you propably got all chips hashing ok you can chek this in the api-log tab after 30-60minutes of steady hashing the number should be eaven with all workers.

--avalon-fan 80
is enough to cool this unit in most normal room temperatures at stock speed of hashing.

HW errors should be around 3-4%. It is DH% value in status page.

Happy mining.
546  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 24, 2014, 02:09:46 PM

i get an error "invalid avalon options for frequency, must be 256 <= 1024" im confused which value is the frequency?

Try this

--avalon-options 115200:16:10:D:1400:55

Yes 16 miners not 24 my mistake.
16 is miner count
10 is asic count per miner
547  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 24, 2014, 11:36:59 AM
ive managed to conenct it to usb and cgminer appears to recognise it, however it just cycles through the following:

result return rate low, resetting
reset sequence sent
ava0: idling 32 miners

im open to suggestions as for what to try next....

did you start cgmine with  --avalon-options 115200:24:10:D:1400:55

So after hashing fine for a while my hashrate slowed a bit and the api shows this.
Code:
   [match_work_count1] => 4009
   [match_work_count2] => 3864
   [match_work_count3] => 0
   [match_work_count4] => 3953
   [match_work_count5] => 4079
   [match_work_count6] => 3772
   [match_work_count7] => 3937
   [match_work_count8] => 3801
   [match_work_count9] => 4013
   [match_work_count10] => 3882
   [match_work_count11] => 4063
   [match_work_count12] => 3896
   [match_work_count13] => 3784
   [match_work_count14] => 3875
   [match_work_count15] => 3977
   [match_work_count16] => 3886
After opening the rig this is what I found on one of the modules. I'm pretty sure the component is making contact with one of the power pins. I am no smd guy and I do not even know for sure if this is the module getting 0. Any suggestions?

Avalon worker unit with that smd is eather one of these. It's hashing fine  Roll Eyes better not touch it haha.
[match_work_count1] => 4009
or
[match_work_count9] => 4013

Pictures you supplied are not the worker that is not hashing. Dont resolder it i think that is just ground. Doesnt matter it touching. I had same pin that component is touching twisted and did resoldering and measured it to be ground...

Picture you provided is 1st worker of one of the blades, that would be worker 1 or worker 9 in cgminer apilog
Anyways you have worker 3 cold. That would be 3rd Avalon unit on one of the blades. You have taken picture of Avalon unit 1 on a Blade.

Short the fuses with by soldering or anything like aluminium tape lol see if it gets the unit hashing  Wink

I would say this is what you have cold. Easy way to find what is cold is to let it run for 2 minutes and use your finger to touch the Avalon chips. Depending your pain management level youll fid it easy which one is cold. You wont burn your finger  Roll Eyes

Recap here are the Fuses

This sucks, Home Depot sucks, I suck! I just checked a piece of the cable that I have in the garage and it says cat 3! I didn't double check when I bought it, I just grabbed the first two off of the shelf. Now I have to run a whole new line! LAME!

Ouch.
Still thats bit funny  Grin doing good job and seeing parts used didnt fit haha

No other manufacturer even has a 3TH miner on the drawing board!
You do know Cointerra are *in production* with a 2TH device? These devices are going to be tested and certified, so most will be hashing at... 2TH.

If lots of people have 2TH hashing, it's not going to be long before they push what you can earn with 2TH down to nothing.

The very first Jupiters out of the gate were mining 1.5BTC a day. Three months later, that is down to 0.15BTC a day. And that was while none of the major manufacturers were shipping anything!

It's almost certain that knc will not ship neptune for at least 3 months [REDACTED/]if they don't tape out before chinese new year[/REDACTED] lol

Food for thought?

Game is on 5TH is new 3TH. Intresting times at this gold rush. I would not trust anything beyond few months. Chinese are the wild card here when they mass produce something 10000units is just initial number. Bitmine is minting $$$ now and upgrading their production speed.

KnC may not be the first to ship 3TH

Good stuff more ASIC makers to cash out the poor Miners
Take my money already. I may preorder this thing.
552  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] CoiningSolutions.com Neptune Shares ฿.33=50GH/s |*MINERS PAID on: January 24, 2014, 12:16:52 AM
Hmm.. Decisions decisions.

Anyone have a crystal ball know how much hash power will hit the network once KnC delivers the Neptunes / to see the difficulty in late march / mid april?

My crystall ball says. Shi* will hit the fan before the TH/s units ship out. Network hashing will jump 10 fold before that. KnC wont take refunds on any newer orders for good reason. Everybody is scared now. Hashing power goes up up up.

Neptune batch one 1200 units at 3TH/s is 3600 TH/s to network
Before Neptune or any TH/s units ships Bitmain will ship 1xxxx units of Antminers worth +3000 TH/s that will be hashing 6-8 difficulty hops before bigger units. 10000$ is 1.2TH/s Antminers delivered and hashing in few days. Eaven shitty Avalon 55nm clones will ship xxx TH/s. Most of the Antminers and Avalon clones are going mainland China market.

Antminer 10k$ 1.2TH/s now, hashing in less than a week.
Pre-order from KnC @10k$ 3TH/s around 2-3 monts and 6-10 difficulty hops later.

Power drain is another story. Most miners wont care about that now.

 Shocked

Bitmain started Antminers with 4.5BTC hardware and making of that simple unit is 200$ work and parts. Chinese make iPhones for 400$ /sarcasm
Expect new price cut after difficulty hop or two. Antminer will be 1BTC
553  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 23, 2014, 11:38:30 PM
Well, you were spared about five (5) days ago, as that's is when they closed the sale.  So you sat on the fence way to long.  I believe these Chinese units are definitely for the  electronic savvy only, better than a kit, but definitely a do it yourself unit to a great degree!

Mtnminer3

Wow, i sat on the fence about ordering one of these for over a week, was finally going to make the leap of faith today, but after reading about the TONS of problems everyone who bought one has had, i am glad i didnt order, and dont think i will be in the future. Antminers it is i guess.

Yes it is a kit. All the screws are bottom of shipping box  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes  I still love it and now planning to add extra blades. 3 blades could be 330 GH/s

Antminers are way to go for those who want to buy miners and watch them mine not to tinker them.
Antminer is way more power efficient
Antminer is only miner that ships NOW Bitmain is minting $$$ by selling those and not giving chips out to OEM

http://cointerra.com/product/terraminer-iv-2ths-networked-asic-miner-may-batch/

People are still ordering Cointerra 2TH/s that ships in May... wtf.
You can get Antminers with that 6000$ and start hashing next week.
554  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 23, 2014, 04:23:57 PM
Perfect, thanks for sharing, sikke.  I think I agree that 1600 doesn't seem worth it at that rate.  I'll go ahead and try mine and see if I might have a "luckier" system (probably not, given my luck).  I'll also try 1550 if I can get it to take that.  I did do a little --avalon-auto this morning and it seemed to alternate between 1450 and 1500, so I might have a shot.

My --avalon-auto got stuck at 1499 in that unit and also 1550 didnt stay stable hashing. I'm pretty happy with 1500@230GH/s i will continue going trough refurbishing all my units to that spec. i still have work to do with fuses and so. i want to get all out from these.
555  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 23, 2014, 03:13:10 PM
So, has anyone with these btmine units actually gone up to 1600 MHz?  I saw it was mentioned earlier, but I'm not sure it wasn't just suppostion, especially with other similar clones only running 1250 or 1300 MHz.  Right now I'm happy with 1500 MHz running solid for 2 days straight.  No high error rates or temps.  But, if I'm throwing perfectly usable cycles on the floor, well, I'd rather not - comes from my SETI/BOINC/Prime days...  Wink

1600 OC stable but HW rate goes up to 10% and 1028w from wall.

1500 OC is the sweet spot 961w from wall. Under 4% HW error and hashrate stays around 230GH/s

I think it's very important to have good power supply. You will also save easy 100w electricity with it.

2x Stock PSU @1400 = 946w from wall. @210 GH/s
  -edit- Stock PSU settles to 999w after 1 hour
2x Stock PSU @1500 = 1060w from wall and they will blow out at some point dont wanna try.
2x 1kw PSU @1500 = 961w from wall. @230 GH/s
2x 1kw PSU @1600 = 1028w from wall. @+230 GH/s 10% HW errors not worth it.

For those who dont know PSU will perform better when not tortured full. So you will save 100-150w Electricity by getting good PSUs

NEXT coming from Sikke: Watercooling 101
(i have watercooled CPUs from 1999. i put AMD Duron 700 --> 900Mhz)  Roll Eyes

That did the trick. But isnt this dangerous ? No overheat protection ? I have temp1 at 21° where does that come from as i have only one sensor...

This is for you. You can get the unit very silent  Cool simple to install. Temp sensor still works as safety backup for overheating. 70c @ cgminer will shut down.

can someone post a cgminer conf page without OC working fine with stock psu's ?

Underclock it to 1300 maybe your psus are weak and it fails, leave the avalon fan config field empty. It will take fans up to 100% but they will calm down slowly, your temps are out of hands. Let it run on fans auto mode for things to eaven out. Rpm will drop top 2200 which is quite low.
557  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 22, 2014, 10:31:20 PM
Sailem09 looks like you could be OK with that unit with bit component resoldering.

I cannot beleave they ship all these units with all screws loose. I think the weight of that massive heatsink will shake the srews loose during transporting and long flight shaking/vibrating. They should have secured the blades inside. Long transport chain will put the parcel under alot vibrating for long periods. Those screws losen up easy.

I was lucky with this unit. Bottom blade was off (screws bottom of shipping package) the heatsinks got stuck secure enough to hold both of them while upper unit didnt come lose.

558  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]Avalon miner 200 GH/s 4-5 days to shipment! on: January 22, 2014, 08:05:23 PM
Yeah, I'm not sure what the issue is. It's not like the chips are bad or the temp is too high. We'll see what the performance is of the other units after people receive them.

Cheap components, poor quality power supply components in blade maybe board wont give enough juice to chips. Was this unit powered by only 1 psu? 160 avalon chips need 1000W from wall to run. But let it ride least 30minutes to 1 hour and see how the numbers go they should get steady when all chips get enough juice.
559  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]Avalon miner 200 GH/s 4-5 days to shipment! on: January 22, 2014, 07:03:56 PM
only 1300 freq and HWrate 20% Sad
my similar clone is going here 1500 freq with 4.5% hwrate +220GH/s

Cool, matches what I'm seeing, though I'm using the newest ckolvas firmware running 3.9.0 cgminer.  Note that my firmware doesn't give me fan speeds, but I'm not sure if it's my unit or the alternate firmware, but because of that I'd not recommend upgrading firmware - no need.

I have 1 unit with 0rpm info all cables connected. Will investigate more in future. In the same unit --avalon-fan goes reverse.
