Sorry, could you please explain how exactly they are useless and worthless?

Sure, they are clones and do not add anything unique to the crypto world.

You mean like Ferrari does not add anything to the automobile-world...

Not at all. Doesn't compare with BTC.
Right, Mooncoin is faster and nicer.  Cheesy Cheesy

Sure, they are clones and do not add anything unique to the crypto world.

You mean like Ferrari does not add anything to the automobile-world, because of the likes as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Ford, Edit: etc. pp. pp.?

Just compare the transaction-time of Mooncoin to the one (yawn) of bitcoin ...
But OK, not everyone is able to ride a Ferrari Edit: or is able to bear the good looks of an Alfa Romeo 8C.
So just buy your Toyota. It's perfectly OK, too, in its own way.

to coinflow: trade volumes a day are near 30 BTC. Do you really suppose that it's we only who buy and thus make a price higher now?

Don't think so. But, didn't say that - regarding your use of the word "really" in the question.

Edit: I personally have only bought some minor contingents in the last weeks - every now and then, when the price was nice.  Smiley
Edit 2: And will keep on doing so. Mooncoin has so much potential. As agswinner says: Strong buy.
544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOON] Mooncoin: You know where it's headed! KGW exploit FIXED 4/3/2014 on: November 22, 2014, 12:59:10 PM
there was the breakout of 58, should be the classic pullback. .. Next range is hypothetical 58 60 that will support and resistance 88 90 ..
But mooncoin is The understimated Coin ...buy opportunity
Seriously! How is this possible that MOON is overtaking Earthcoin in value with nearly 50 times as many coins?
I just don't understand this crypto world anymore... Embarrassed
Earthcoin of no use to anybody. 42coin useless. understand?

That was my point. MOON, EAC, MAX, etc...all useless and worthless.

Sorry, could you please explain how exactly they are useless and worthless? Do you mean it in the same way, like BTC, USD, EUR etc. pp. are useless? There is gold, so why would anybody even need silver? There are diamonds, but why do people buy sapphires, emeralds or even - the "worthless" in comparison - pearls?
Maybe this helps to understand. Why would people buy old cars and spend a fortune on them? Why do they buy even old baseball-cards for amounts of money, nobody else is possible to understand?

Baseline: Maybe the clue is, to ask what something is worth for you personally? The ones will say: bitcoin, the others: Mooncoin.  Smiley

I have some spare litecoins which I mined, and I was thinking of trying to use them to help MOON go to the MOON. I have enough (over a billion) mooncoins already so I think I won't buy any more for now :-) But my question is, where is the best reasonably safe place to put a buy order on Cryptsy to help the price rise?

It seems as if 58 Litoshi is a strong resistance, just like Andrea and Alejandro said. Maybe helping MOON to climb over that hurdle is a good idea? agswinner and redjedi, what do you think?

For everyone who wants to dig deeper into the statistics of Mooncoin: http://www.multifaucet.tk/index.php?blockexplorer=MOON&charts

Check out the long time in February, when MOON was stuck at a difficulty of ~350  Shocked, because multipools jumped off and deaconboogie needed to implement KGW, before it went on again. Unfortunately that long time of non-confirming transactions was not so nice for many people and obviously was the main reason for the price going down and down for a long time, additionally because the pools/miners did not stop to dump all mined coins immediately, after Mooncoin was working again.

But what has happened in the last weeks? Slowly, but steadily Mooncoin is rising - from the lowest possible level of ~3 Litoshi to 55-60 Litoshi at the moment. That is nothing short of amazing. See the difficulty from end of July (~4) until today (~30). And looking at those charts, there is so much more potential left in MOON, it is nearly unbelievable.  Smiley

Just check out the PoW/PoS-chart, which shows, how the mined supply has dropped since then - with the little peak back in August, when the Apollo-phase was in effect, to celebrate the anniversary of the landing on the Moon. And the next halving is right at the doors at block 300.001.

To the Moon!

Seems that 58 Litoshi is a strong resistance. Go MOON, go!  Smiley

EDIT:
Andrea, nice stickers, btw.

Thanks for the explanation. However lot of ZERO still remain 0.00000196 :-(

Think of Mooncoin in 5 years, when millions of people own them. bitcoin is tricky to handle with 0.0065 BTC or so for ordering a coffee (and it will getting worse, if the bitcoin-price rises even further). Humans like bigger numbers more than decimals. So ordering a coffee for 1500 or 122 MOON is way nicer ...  Wink

agree also you know you have attracted attention when the ConTalk mods are getting nervous :

This was a completely reasonable and sensible discussion about future mooncoin projects , now deleted , maybe forever?

meanwhile back at low orbit ! - i agree i'd like a further buying opportunity at around 30, remains to be seen if it happens.

Didn't see that. So can't judge about the contents and deletion.

Buying at around 30 again? Will be difficult. But would be nice, of course.  Smiley

Can some one tell me why price is rising?

Maybe, because more and more people realize, that Mooncoin is a serious contender to the top dogs (no pun intended, of course  Cheesy )?
It focuses on stability, just like the Moon stabilizes the Earth and makes life possible for mankind.

We had stable growth over the last weeks after being dumped to near death. But now it steadily rises - like a Phoenix.

EDIT: One cause for not being dumped anymore now is, that the block-rewards have dropped massively and the next halving will be at block 300001. We're now at block ~287790: http://moonchain.net

Check this from www.cryptmarketcap.com:

Daily Top Gainers
Cryptobuck +121.01%
Extremecoin +81.94%
Cachecoin +34.32%
BitBar +30.45%
Mooncoin +26.05%

Mooncoin on 25th position there now.

Mooncoin is rising too fast !!!  Shocked
Could you please sell some, for a slower steady price rise before the rocket will start.
I want to buy more cheap MOON.  Smiley

But you'll never get them for 5 or 10 Litoshi again, as you wished before ...  Cheesy

I know, but buying at 30 - 35 would be nice too ;-)

That's right, but most probably that train is gone, too. What do you think?

I'd rather say: we MUST fund that.  Wink

EDIT:
So we would have to contact them and ask them to install a Mooncoin-wallet - as soon as the new wallet is out and working.
Then we all can send them Mooncoins and buy more on the exchanges. In the end they hopefully have enough MOON and the value of Mooncoin is high enough, so that they can complete the mission.

great!  Smiley

...but the biggest problem I see with the link you provided is it showing as a virus, why is that?
these are false positives...read more here at the official site: http://mooncoin.rocks/wallet-download/

is the new source code available on git or some other opensource sharing platform for the code monkeys in our ranks to look it over?

and the fork we are going to do.
It is not yet available, but if you wish I can do this, so everyone can look over it and I will list all changes in comparison to the original wallet in detail.
Whith a code comparison software like exam diff everybody should be able to see and check all changes made.

 Grin Cool

Peme, i think this is very important. And this is a must. Please do it when you finish with the code. We need to allow people to see the code, the differences... in order to trust on the coin,

The code is finished. I will review the changes once more and then will upload the code to github within the next days.  Smiley

Nice. I hope you have received my PMs?  Wink
I have contacted Cryptsy and multipool.us, in order to inform them about the changes and discuss the best way to perform the update.

EDIT: After getting an answer, I'll contact the other pools and exchanges to inform them, too.

EDIT 2:
deaconboogie, if you read this: it still would be nice, if we could get a sign of life from you.
558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOON] Mooncoin: You know where it's headed! KGW exploit FIXED 4/3/2014 on: November 20, 2014, 09:29:59 AM
adding multipool.us as a node will not get you anywhere, that goes to an Incapsula IP address.
I don't run any public nodes anymore after being hit with DDOS attacks on them months ago.

Thanks for the info. I'll remove it in a minute from the posting.
I'm really, really glad, that you are posting here, since peme and me are thinking about how to release the wallet in the best way, so that every pool is in the boat before. We were afraid that the pools and exchanges would not accept a new wallet without prior permission by the original dev.
peme is working hard on the new code and our idea was to put the updated code only on GitHub first. It will be based on gjhiggins code: https://github.com/mooncoin-project
If you login there, you can see us working on the project. But gjhiggins has quit at the moment, because he has other things to do. peme is doing a great job so far. We have some feedback from the dev of multifaucet.tk. He has brought our attention to some details that have to be checked also. We really want to do it right with the new wallet. I'll send you a PM later to inform you about some more things.

Again, I'm really glad that you posted.

We'll have the code on the above mentioned GitHub-pages before the compiled wallets will be available. So that everyone can check it before.

I've watch it for a couple of days on Cryptsy. Its had excellent trading for 2 days. That won't last though. They never do  Undecided

Sure, there will be a correction again - but that's part of the healthy growth and a good opportunity to buy in again. However, that should not harm the general uptrend.
560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOON] Mooncoin: You know where it's headed! KGW exploit FIXED 4/3/2014 on: November 19, 2014, 06:20:20 PM
Message to all new Moonies:

Please check this first, to get the basic info: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=389403.msg9456299#msg9456299

We are working on the new wallet; that will fix some minor issues.
If your newly installed wallet doesn't connect immediately, please read the relevant section ("Configuration/nodes") in the mentioned posting above. This will be fixed with the new wallet, btw.

Please download and use the wallet. Don't leave too big amounts on exchanges, if you don't plan to trade.

Have fun with Mooncoin!  Smiley

I don't know who you are; but guess you might help me with MoonCoin wallet issue. I did all kind of troubleshooting to fix my wallet to  sync; however everything failed.

When I start my wallet I get error "No Block Source Available".

I remember that you asked already. Some people here tried to help you, IIRC.
I can only imagine that you have some kind of firewall-issue. Because normally the wallet connects immediately, if you use the linked peers.dat or add a mooncoin.conf with current nodes into the Mooncoin-wallet's folder.

Try these current peers of my wallet:

addnode=198.50.148.134
addnode=107.150.38.154
addnode=198.27.80.162
addnode=162.243.57.246
addnode=24.182.115.122
addnode=178.33.116.119
addnode=188.165.2.147

Here are the instructions (copy/paste from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=389403.msg9456299#msg9456299 ):

---
Configuration/nodes

Seeds are normally done via DNS. You should not need to do any manual addnode commands. But since the current wallet has old seed-nodes encoded into it, which are now offline, it can - and most probably will - happen, that your newly installed wallet doesn't connect automatically to the network (one main reason, why we have to update the wallet, btw.). In this case, please use this peers.dat and replace the existing peers.dat (it's in the same folder, where your wallet.dat is: c:\users\yourusername\appdata\roaming\mooncoin\), restart your wallet and it should connect fast. Alternatively you could create a file called mooncoin.conf in that folder and use the following as contents:

addnode=5.45.105.66
addnode=moonchain.net
addnode=multipool.us
addnode=moon.bitember.com
addnode=cryptsy.com
addnode=swisscex.com

Again, restart the wallet, and it should connect after a short time.
If that does not get you going either, please post into the thread, to get other current addnodes to try out.
---

Keep in mind to open port 44664 on your firewall and router.

One question: Where do live? Maybe your ISP blocks this kind of traffic? Have you contacted them, if nothing of the above helps?

Thanks for your help! I did all suggestion already. How do I uninstall mooncoin wallet? I don't find an option. Win 7 32bit

The same procedure as I explained you the last time: Just delete the directory (see above) and the wallet's exe-file.
I really think you have a serious problem with your system if you can't get the wallet working. Did you try it on another computer? You did not answer the question about where you live and whether you asked your provider to check, if they are causing the problem.
