Last chance for cheap Waves ?
543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The most undervalued crypto? on: September 20, 2017, 06:58:25 AM
Waves, XEL & SONM are undervalued so far atm
544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What coin or token made you the most money? and when ? on: September 20, 2017, 06:57:30 AM
In term of percentage, XEL was the best rewarding ICO I ever did.
Spent 0.15BTC during the ICO, for a 3BTC return only few day after Bittrex listed the coin.
545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your favorite 3 altcoins and why? on: September 20, 2017, 06:46:34 AM
Waves & XEL are both 2 promising projects.

547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES | Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform | unofficial supporters topic on: September 19, 2017, 07:47:34 AM

I love the roadmap design, easy to read ! Can't wait for the new DEX UI, NG & Smart contract !

549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES, QTUM, OMG, STRATIS - Who's the GAME CHANGER? on: September 07, 2017, 02:28:19 PM
I think you are missing Ardor unique feature. Not present in any of these alts you mentioned.

Well, Ardor is just present nowhere Grin
550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO has rebounded above it's "pre crash" price on: September 07, 2017, 01:55:48 PM
I thought this was like the 'etherium of China', a platform for launching ICOs?

Stop to trust everything you read on this forum.
551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Basic Attention Token (BAT): Why the Brave Browser will change advertising on: September 07, 2017, 11:40:54 AM
Outside the tech, the Brave Browser CEO is Brendan Eich, the Mozilla co-founder and Javascript daddy.
552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burger King Russia Introduces The "Whoppercoin" on: September 07, 2017, 10:13:43 AM
I think the whoppercoin that will be introduced will be based on waves. Is it already available? I think this is still on its planning stage. This will be introduced soon but it is not yet offered in whatever Burger King outlet in Russia.

The token is already released on the Waves network and available on the DEX.
Now BK is working on the infrastructure (android & iOS app) to handle the loyalty program with Whoppercoin.

554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is it about WAVES? on: September 07, 2017, 09:06:08 AM
Waves has already attracted several major businesses and social programmes. These include a transparent venture capital organisation (Tokenomica); a political engagement initiative (Upcoin); a green manufacturing technology business (ZrCoin); a marketing drive for a mobile gaming platform (MobileGo); a secure VoIP and telecommunications infrastructure company (EncryptoTel); a blockchain loyalty scheme (Incent)...

Burger King has waded into the cryptocurrency market with the launch of its own virtual coin called "WhopperCoin" in Russia and it's powered by Waves. In last july Deloitte launched a partnership with Waves which is aimed at providing clients with comprehensive initial coin offering (ICO) services and customized blockchain solutions tailored for specific business tasks.

Yes Waves is a ETH rival (just like Coca Cola and Pepsi) and so what? They can exist both and make big benefits.
Yes there is something hard to understand about its weak volume, but I think we should not forget that the majority of owners are leasing their waves.
Yes for now the price is low. But considering all informations above, I think we are in front of a strong project who performed well till now. So, I still believe in Waves.

Nice summary !

On a side note about leasing, we can see (http://dev.pywaves.org/generators/) that 45M of Waves are on leasing right now. So we are sure that at least ~50% of the Waves are HODL'd.
Also the Waves network isn't generating any new coins, instead miners earn the fees. It mean that the total amount of available Waves can only decrease (lost seed, burned coin, etc).

Waves is a big hodl, no surprises.
555  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis on: September 07, 2017, 08:39:16 AM
Yes Bitcoin will be worth so much that every single person on this thread will be wealthy if only they can hold long enough. My guess is half of you will lose your chance chasing alt-coin wet dreams or buying a sports car with your precious BTC.

There is nothing wrong with diversifying your crypto portfolio. Stop generalizing legitimate inventions and p&d/shitcoins. But you are correct that the majority of your portfolio should be in BTC (70%)

99% of shitcoins are straight up scams! And 98% of highly centralized! Do you know how easy it would be for governments to crack them down in a second, or to corrupt and control them??!!!
So diversifying in scams who are easy targets for the incumbents would be extremely dumb!
Trade shitcoins to make more cash or more BTC and you should be fine!!!

You have 4 ways to get more BTC (or lose your BTC):
  • Buy with cash
  • Play the BTC/Fiat market
  • Play the BTC/Altcoin market
  • Play your BTC on a casino

I don't see what's your issue with the portfolio diversification.
But peoples must be ready, if BTC really rocket to 10-15k soon, nobody know how will react the altcoin markets.
556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is it about WAVES? on: September 07, 2017, 08:29:45 AM
Waves have very similar platform to Ethereum in terms of functions. But their overall product basically matches the price: it isn't working good. It needs better development and you will see Waves going very high.

The new DEX UI is still under dev., you can preview here (and it's just awesome): http://etherdesign.io/project/dex

Waves is implementing the Bitcoin NG protocol for October 10th. This mostly allow high scalability and anonymous transactions.
Smart contracts will come after.

To me it's working well already. A lot of improvements are on the way ! The last release added aliases, which is awesome ! The Waves network is really flexible, I can't wait to see more !
557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin november hard fork? on: September 07, 2017, 07:25:47 AM
lets clear this matter up

replay protection is not needed!

whn a implementation wants to utilise consensus to upgrade the network when it activates there would be only ONE network, meaning no double coins.. just a majority continuing on one network and a minority stalled with orphans unable to sync. end of

when core demand replay protection they are basically saying they want to create an altcoin by refusing to be part of the upgrade(new implementation(bip)) and will force a altcoin generation if people run the new implementation(bip).

what core should be doing is not being dictators and cause an altcoin. but instead let consensus do its job.

core have bypassed consensus a couple times now to follow the dictator roadmap designed by blockstream and tried pointing fingers elsewhere

EG avoided consensus and then gave the vote to only pools and then hypocritically blamed the pools.

in november core will have code to avoid communication with the next bip yes CORE putting in code to avoid communication with the next bip implementations.. but core will again blame the implementation when infact its core causing the split.

i really wish more people would understand the technology, code, rules and whats actually going on, instead of reading the reddit propaganda

So you know a replay protection is required, because a split may happen.
Do you really think the Core dev will let a bunch of political lobbyists hijack Bitcoin ?
558  Local / Annonces / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: September 05, 2017, 11:55:31 AM

559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins which had their threads locked by forum administrators on: September 05, 2017, 10:01:24 AM
It happens more and more that threads about coins, even very important coins, get locked by forum administrators due to some violation of rules. I've just discovered that none less than the Waves thread, with thousands of pages, has recenlty been locked. And the Zcash thread as well.
Here you may list, post and discuss about other recently locked threads, mentioning the reason of them having been locked and perhaps you may also post the links of the new relative threads, if available.

Here the @mprep answer for the Waves thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2140451.msg21424130#msg21424130

sasha mentionned a bounty in a post on March, so the thread as been locked ... 6 months later ...

To complaint I made a thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2140792.msg21410537#msg21410537
