541  Economy / Goods / Re: Bitcoin Condoms - First Official Cryptocondons - 1st Batch (15 Available) on: May 02, 2013, 07:23:49 AM
I could sell these at a lower asking price, however I am not going to sell Cryptocondoms as disposable condoms.

Your condoms are reusable?
The are not reusable, I am suggesting that this batch in not recommended for actual use. I think a better option would be to keep as a novelty or even give away as a promo tool.

This also why the price is not comparative to typical condoms in terms of this first batch, if I make them say 0.1btc then it makes them a cheap giveaway and people would just buy later (cheaper) versions from my store.
542  Economy / Goods / Re: Bitcoin Condoms - First Official Cryptocondons - 1st Batch (15 Available) on: May 02, 2013, 07:16:30 AM
I'd be interested but at that price it might just be cheaper to have a baby  Tongue

lol well I can go down to 0.3btc which I think is a reasonable price. If still a bit to much I will try out some alternative commerce channel

Price now at 0.3BTC

Price now at 0.2BTC
543  Economy / Speculation / Re: Short-term target? on: May 01, 2013, 09:56:49 PM
You should add $180+ and $40- just for the sake of those who believe in either of the extremes.

After throwing into question the concept of infinite, lets fall deeper down the rabbit hole.

XoreaX and Owen,

I have some EE / prototype background and would love to get together with you guys about a couple of things.  I posted on the G+ group aswell.

Thanks, I have replies to both G+ messages. It seems as though a good team is coming together and things are starting to fall into place.

548  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Bitcoin Web Game Development (VIDEO) on: May 01, 2013, 04:58:25 PM
Hey all, I feel like I am posting way to much new topics lately, I have way to many projects in the works lol. Anyway I have been working on my first HTML5 video game, I don't know exactly what i want to achieve with it but hopefully some ideas and input can aid in the future development. This is a casual project at the moment and most of the graphics are just reused personal work? I am especially interested in terms of the roles of the player, the "enemy" and other objects I could add. Perhaps I could generate blocks in the game and the player has to navigate mining those blogs while avoiding destruction from collisions with the enemy?

I also like the idea of allowing players to earn real Bitcoins in game, naturally I would need to earn money back some how f in order to fund the payouts, unfortunately I would also need specialist some programmers to achieve such a feat. As you can see it already possible to rack up points so perhaps a coupon system could be implemented allowing users to exchange those points. The game will be playable in most browsers and as it is HTML5 it should be possible to store data on a server and locally.

549  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Editing the Bitcoin-QT UI on: May 01, 2013, 04:30:25 PM
look at walletview.cpp in the qt dir

lol @css....this aint a web app

as other posted, go learn qt Cheesy

Thanks for the replies and I just assumed CSS could be used on non web apps too, it looks like a basic fluid layout but i guess other languages can create the same functions. I guess I will have to learn more about coding even it is just to make changes to the UI lol.  Embarrassed
550  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Editing the Bitcoin-QT UI on: May 01, 2013, 02:54:55 PM
I would like to create a redesign of the Bitcoin-Qt wallet, the changes would be relatively minimal, I would change the icons, symbols and perhaps background. I am inexperienced with Github so forking and contributing my own code is new to me. Could someone point me to where in the Bitcoin source the wallet UI is located, also will the design be coded in CSS? I realize this is not an essential upgrade however I feel a new slick, responsive design would create a professional feel. I have download the Bitcoin-master.zip from Github although I am not even sure if that is where the wallet UI code is located, I guess it is also possible the wallet is not even part of the opensource code to begin with lol.

552  Economy / Goods / Re: Bitcoin Condoms - First Official Cryptocondons - 1st Batch (15 Available) on: May 01, 2013, 12:53:16 PM
£50 for a condom a tad steep don't you think?

Also what makes these special as collectors items, as I can see they're not dated so could easily be replicated or people could just sell batch 50 condoms as batch 1?

They are near impossible to replicate as the design is unique (including the BTC logo) so in order to make a copy they would first need to own one of the 20 originals. The would then need to accurately replicate the colours, serials, typefaces, serial, packaging and so on.

I could sell these at a lower asking price, however I am not going to sell Cryptocondoms as disposable condoms. Those interested are welcome to make offers however I am confident I could just sell these to clients I have previously worked with, I will be providing a more economic additions to the series in the future. As a promotional/giveway/collectable I feel my asking price is reasonable though. Smiley

Who in the world can proclaim they are serious about Bitcoins when they do not have one of the original, exclusive and damn cool Bitcoin Crytpocondom? I am glad to announce I just got my first batch in, 20 sexy Bitcoin condoms  Cheesy. This first batch features one-off designs and are of course the first range of Bitcoin of Cryptographic themed condoms available to mankind. So why would you want one? Cryptocondoms, aside from being fully functional are great collectors items and at the very least a fun Bitcoin item to show friends and get the partner interested  Wink. The new Cryptocondom web store is live however also currently under-construction, this batch will be fully recognized as the first, the original Cryptocondom and of course the most valuable. It only seems fair that I make his first batch available exclusively to the Bitcointalkforum. Smiley

Note: I will not be held responsible for any newborns or your sexual performance in regards to the use of the Cryptocondom range. As you can see each condom will arrive on a nicely presented card with basic information and instructions added by the manufacturer (lol), each condom packet also has some spec/manufacture details on the back. The production quality is brilliant, even the small "Original Crpytocondom" message at the bottom is fully legible.

Price: 0.2BTC - 8 of 15 left

556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi's white paper..."he" said "we", lends weight to the idea it was a group on: May 01, 2013, 09:25:04 AM
I often say we when promoting an idea to the public, saying I creates an impression of ownership. My current understanding of Bitcoin is that Satoshi wants it to be a group effort that "we" develop.
557  Economy / Gambling / Re: Have you made money by gambling on satoshi dice? on: May 01, 2013, 12:39:17 AM
I tried it out, won on the second attempt putting me back into positives then I stopped playing, never to return. Not a fan of gambling, feel like I beat the system.  Grin
558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Building the next generation FAST CRYPTO CURRENCY MINING MACHINE on: April 30, 2013, 11:22:04 PM
Here is the problem as I see it in regards to all of the digital currencies that have sprung up over the past couple of years, BTC included.

[1]The current world population of ~5 Billion people aged 18+ all have a need/desire to make and receive goods and services; The easiest method invented so far beyond barter is to use a fiat type system of physical or digital currency (cash, debit card included but excluding BTC and the like).

All nations have some type of currency, but now we are speculating on a world currency, to me this means that the total amount of currency in the system needs to be larger than the actual population, No? and if not then why?

I did not major in economics but this right here seems to be the biggest overlooked fact of wide spread and immediate adoption throughout the world of a truly digital currency ala BTC.

Can any economists in here please join in on this thought?

This is why we are seeing people hoarding their BTC because it has a tiny tiny float of only 21MM, to me this is clearly not enough to sustain a global economy.

Using the above numbers:
5 Billion people able to earn and save BTC / 21 Million BTC == 0.0042 per person.

This is clearly not enough currency to go around and we haven't even begun to include corporations...

[1] http://www.census.gov/population/international/data/idb/worldpop.php

In the future we well not see BTC as the standard unit, people will talk in Millibits or whatever the correct terms are. Essentially one day we could be talking about 0.001 as if it were 1BTC, i think once Bitcoin starts to hit 1k people people will be requesting lesser amount making BTC requests rarer and perceived as large transaction then they are now. I do agree though, having to move into decimals will take some getting used to.
559  Other / Off-topic / Re: $1 Trillion Bitcoin on: April 30, 2013, 10:06:31 PM
Mother nature doesn't like singularity , that's why you don't see it,  ever .

Except, um, black holes?

Black holes are nonsense, because infinite gravity is nonsense (literally a meaningless string of words). /OT

blackholes dont have infinite gravity. They have infinite density because they have no volume. So even if they only weighed as much as a feather they would still have infinite density. Infinite density for this reason doesn't mean infinite gravity, since the amount of gravity given off by an object is a function of its mass not its density.

Infinite is just a way for mathematicians to say I give up.  Grin
560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Development team for a HTML5 altcoin game? on: April 30, 2013, 10:03:03 PM
Once Ripple source code is released anyone should be able to easily create a "coin" needing no mining, just rename Ripple, rename XRP (its internal currency) and deploy.

But really, think about how games like World of Warcraft and EVE Online do it.

The clever thing is, they don't! Or they pretend not to! Oh those places where our game money can be converted to real money? Those are forbidden! Naughty! Those are not us! We are just running a game here, if you are looking for tokens-representing-value issuers go talk to them, all those legal problems are not our problem! Etc.

-MarkM-

I have never used MMO's but essentially a token/coupon system seems like a better idea then creating an altcoin. I can still brand the coin in such a way that people perceive it as a coin.
