5421  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Supreme Court pick Brett Kavanaugh on: October 05, 2018, 03:12:30 AM
I don't even really trust him on the 2nd amendment -- probably he would support all sorts of incremental regulations. Though maybe his experience with his nomination will make him more radical, which might be interesting.

Kavanaugh certainly didn't stop short of indicting the Clintons as being (proxy) responsible for his ordeal.  I think he'll be more reliable on the 2nd amendment than Kennedy had been.  At least I hope he'll be.

I looks good for his nomination as of tonight, The vote is scheduled for tomorrow morning.  We'll see what kind of mud smears the Dumbocrats can dig up by morning.

I must have funds to sign signature right? I just copy pasted last reply and changed btc address pretty sure it is wrong.. I use Android Samourai Wallet if anyone can help! New to the signed messages.... Thanks

No, you don't need a wallet with funds in it to sign a message, but what you did there will not work.  The long code at the bottom is the signature key, and it is generated by the specific wallet used to sign the message.  Copying someone else's signature key won't do you any good.

Here's a tutorial on how to sign a message:

5423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How MasterCard Works? on: October 02, 2018, 09:13:52 PM
MasterCard, originally known as "Interbank" and "Master Charge" from 1966 to 1979, was created by several California banks. In today's article, we are discovering MasterCard history.

I wonder how much of your blog post is copied and pasted from the wikipedia article?  I won't be reading your blog, since I don't condone plagiarism.

5426  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 18-Sep-2018] on: October 02, 2018, 02:55:52 PM
I'd say it's more likely some Privcy bag holder tries to extort >1 week of free advertising to hype the price up, dump his bags onto others and vanish without paying.

That was my first thought, too.  The OP of the sig campaign thread practically admitted it as well:

It is 100% real.  THIS CAMPAIGN IS BACKED BY A PRIVATE INVESTOR.

Cryptocurrency is decentralized, anyone can advertise bitcoin if they wish to, why is a third party not allowed to help advertise a coin they are heavily invested in?

What's really telling is all the spambies who just pop into that thread and apply for the campaign with out reading what's been going on, or doing any research about the project themselves.

@Mitchell or Fatanut: Nexybit has a few open slots.
5427  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcointalk and CMC continue to lose influence over cryptomarket on: October 02, 2018, 02:29:43 PM
How is bitcoin not going to reach 50k and bitcointalk/CMC losing influence connected? I don't get the connection. Or is there something I missed? Bitcointalk and CMC losing influence is actually a good thing, whether you like it or not. The biggest names losing influence means that there's good competition going on. Which is good overall to decrease centralization in the space.
That and we have actual business news organizations starting to cover Bitcoin and it's movements, Bitcointalk will continue on but with a lot more altcoin discussion. Which is fine especially if the main developer area stays untouched we don't need or want the spam in there anyways.

Those are both very good points.  The other thing to keep in mind is that forums themselves are not all that appealing to the mainstream.  I've told many friends who're just getting into crypto about this forum and most are daunted by it's volume.  Searching google is much easier for an answer to a question you may have, and bitcoin discussion isn't their thing.

One friend who has more affinity to forums in general is reluctant to join because of the "Dark Web" affiliations the forum has had, and to be frank, all the scams that seem to get their footing here.

These things may be bad for the forum, but they really don't affect bitcoin's position in the mainstream market.  Like kingcolex said, news and information about bitcoin is all over the media now, mainstream business news outlets are reporting about crypto.

And as for CMC, I believe that's purely attributable to market share.  As in they now have to share the market with the hundreds of other sites providing the same information.
5428  Other / Meta / Re: Racism and bigotry on: October 01, 2018, 05:58:21 PM
anyone who has an Islamic religion is not offended by the insult to the Qur'an and Muhammad S.A.W means that his faith is doubtful.

Anyone who can't handle their belief system being insulted, ridiculed, or merely brought into question is likely to not  have much "faith" in the first place.  If you were truly confident in your faith you would not be offended by trivial and bigoted comments.

It's overly sensitive attitudes like yours that give Muslims the reputation they have today.

This sub-board is for services that pay in bitcoin, you need to post this in the Altcoin board.

If You Responded To An Investment Offer Like This, You Could Have Been Scammed – HoweyCoins Are Completely Fake!
5431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]HoweyCoins: the only BitcoinTalk-endorsed ICO - GUARANTEED PROFIT on: October 01, 2018, 03:09:49 PM
This kinda looks scammy.

First time I have seen an ICO endorsed by bitcointalk forum.

What I dont like is no project can offer guaranteed returns or profits. On top of that offering big bonuses to pre - ico buyers, just trying to hype the returns rather the project.

Also website doesnt seem top notch for an ICO, seen a lot better.

Guaranteed profits is a joke. By saying that you lose all credibility.
Why did you have to say that?

Everyone is a critic.  Why so cynical?  Do the research, it's impossible to lose money on this project.

Yea, that year is pretty much impossible to read the year in the photo, was hoping for 1944, thanks for taking the photos and scans looks good. Oh well, I'll take it. Sending a PM

If I had to guess I'd say it looks like 1948, sort of.

Thanks for the purchase.  I received your payment last night, and left you positive trust.  The sights are in the mail, you should have them in a couple of days.

M1 Garand Grenade Launcher Sights
Still wrapped in the original paper, includes instructions and carry bag.
Price: $15 USD,

Can I get a clearer photo of the instructions/bag, what year (if any) is stamped on it?

Does it say whether it's an M15 or T-59-E3, and who manufactures it?  Might be inside the paper so if it's not visible don't worry about it.

It's really hard to make out the year on the carrying case, it's a bit blotted.  According to the instructions it's a model M15.  I'm sure it's stamped on the sight, but I'd rather not unwrap it.  I took some photos of the markings on the case, and I scanned the instructions.  Link below.

I don’t even know why would they go to the Mars and be there. Can somebody explain it to me?

Human nature.  We are predisposed to venture into the unknown, and make it known.

We like to attribute it to our desire for knowledge, our quest for development of our species, our instinct to survive.  But from an outside observer it may appear like we are a fungus, a virus, lichen on a rock.  Both perspectives are equally true.  All organic life has the desire to prosper.

Yes, this blog is mine. I just started it. This article was posted here and there without crosslink.

I thought of that possibility, but saw no correlation between your account here and the author of the blog post.  If you are the writer, you should be as concerned about plagiarism as any one.  Avoid issue in the future by following this guide:

5437  Other / Meta / Re: Where I can edit my signature? on: September 28, 2018, 04:13:56 PM
We have the same sentiment. I am really doubting that it is OP's original post, my sense tells me that he plagiarized but the problem is I cannot find the link of the original article despite of browsing the internet for couple of moments (I hope somebody could be able to if ever our presumption is true).

So as of now, he doesn't deserve to be judged. You shouldn't reported him simply because he remains Not Guilty. Reporting someone's post without supporting evidences is a biased action, be more careful next time.
