5441  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Looking to sell two $1000 amazon codes for btc or eth on: June 22, 2018, 05:59:36 PM
Still looking
By amazon codes you mean gift cards right? Try posting on the right (Digital Goods) section and you might get proper responses over there. And the only way escrow can help here is either the escrow will be redeeming the code on behalf of the buyer from his account or through screen sharing. Also letting people know how you got the gift cards might help them trust you.
5442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it my impression or media is biased towards bad news ? on: June 21, 2018, 06:53:39 PM
It's very obvious that you don't have a strong basis for your accusation (just pure intuition) but I still agree to you somehow. I don't like to speak in general so let me tell my experience here in our country. There was once a documentary report televised here all about crypto (I think the only one 'til now). This makes all of crypto hodlers here, like me, hyped but we're shocked right after we watched because we all agree in one thing ~ it was biased. The whole documentary only focused on the negative side of crypto: its threats to current monetary system, the possibility of getting scammed and debunking how they work and lastly the people who suffer from it. We are also clueless why they don't even show even a single positive trait of crypto, so disappointing Sad.

But again, it's very hard to conclude that media is against cryptocurrency. This can be only a coincidence or maybe intentional, we're not so sure if media was really manipulated and stand against crypto.
What is so hard to understand over here? The media is controlled (either directly or through under the table commission) by the government. The government hates bitcoin and all decentralized crypto currencies and thus they are trying to brainwash people by just showing the negative aspects of bitcoin. Just google crypto currency news, and you will see all sites that are not related to crypto currency right now are just talking about the recent hack and how it is going to crash everything.
5443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: twitter banning ICO related accounts ? on: June 21, 2018, 06:47:10 PM
A lot of my fb friends complaining on their posts that their twitter accounts got suspended, and we suspect that it becomes suspended because of the hashtag #ICO on their posts ? What do you think guys ?
This matter is important because it can affect the bounty participants in some instances.
I did read an article last month where it stated that twitter will be banning accounts that advertise for ICOs. I wouldn't blame twitter for this. The amount of scams taking place through ICO has increased tremendously and this forced twitter to take steps against them as those scams might highly damage their reputation. Its not only twitter, even google and facebook did make a same announcement.
5444  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dont Buy BTC Expensive, Wait. on: June 21, 2018, 06:39:43 PM
This is one of the most stupidest advice i have ever seen someone giving to others. No, it is not expensive. You can still afford bitcoin. It is never going to be expensive. Do keep in mind that you can buy fractions of bitcoin if you can't afford one whole bitcoin. And the more you wait, the more opportunity you are losing to join is as an early bird and take advantage of the price.
5445  Economy / Economics / Re: When the government forbids cryptocurrency on: June 21, 2018, 06:33:33 PM
What country are you talking about? You should mention that. All i know is that only few countries have banned crypto currencies totally and those countries are actually under developed countries with huge political corruptions. Anyways crypto currencies are decentralized and I don't understand how they will ban users from using it and prosecute them. Those are all talks and scare tactics i guess.
5446  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crash recoveries are not moons on: June 21, 2018, 10:57:42 AM
It's irritating to see people saying that after a 20% crash (which happened a week ago or so), that 1 or 2% daily recoveries is a good sign for the market. It's not.
20% fall after a 200% abnormal rise is not considered as a crash. We are still considered to be green/up. Those fall might be considered as price "correction". Steady rise of price after a correction is not actually a recovery of a price rather increase of its actual value. And why do you think those 1% and 2% daily recovery is not good for the market?
5447  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bot trading on Exchanges on: June 21, 2018, 07:24:48 AM
Not sure if there are exchanges that will not allow automated trading/bot trading. Every trade has a fee. The more the bots are automatically trading, the more the fee they are earning. So its a totally win situation for them. Also they help to increase the trading volume on their exchange, so why would they bother to stop the bots?
5448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if someone forgot the key to their bitcoin wallet ? on: June 21, 2018, 07:07:05 AM
What are the measures to keep your private key safe and in memory ? Are there any alternatives to retrieve the key back ?
You will lose your  coins forever if you lose your private keys. The best way is to write it down or print it on a paper and store it somewhere safe. Don't make it too obvious that its a private key. Also others suggesting to store it in a flash drive isn't actually the best thing to do. Every electronic device wears out as time goes by. So it becomes risky as you flash drive might stop working.
5449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What currencies do you gamble with? on: June 20, 2018, 10:49:08 PM
Since it is about crypto currencies, bitcoin is a must over here. I usually bet with bitcoins but also to like to bet with some cheaper coins like dogecoin, litecoin and stratis. Usually it is better to add those coins (the cheaper ones) since some people like to do min bet and try their luck with huge payout with coins that aren't very expensive. They also have shorter confirmation time which is another plus point for them.
5450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bithumb hack affect Altcoin too? on: June 20, 2018, 08:24:52 PM
Few hours ago i read on CNN that one of the world's largest cryptocurrency Exchange site was hacked and the thieves got away with $30million dollars worth of cryptocurrency. According to the news, the news of the theft at the exchange hit the prices of cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin fell around 2%.

What is your view. Will it affect all altcoins too?
Altcoin price most of the time follows the lead of bitcoin price. If bitcoin goes green, the altcoins go green too. If it falls, we see the price of altcoin falling more badly. So yes, the hack will affect the price of altcoin if the price of bitcoin is affected. But weirdly, the price of bitcoin have turned blind eye and is still going up. The hack just caused a small price change which has been  recovered soon and we are about the see the price hit $7,000 soon enough.
5451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We are going down again? Bithumb HACKED (30MIL USD) on: June 20, 2018, 06:43:39 PM
Hello, I just woke up and I see another bad news.
Bithumb was hacked and hackers stole coins worth about 30 million USD (100 million USD?). But Bithumb promised that they will cover this loss.

Do you think it will affect the price of Bitcoin (altcoins)?

Yeah bithumb did actually get hacked and coins were indeed stolen. The affects were immediate but wasn't devastating. The price was going up and reached $6,700 but this hack kinda put a stop to it and the price fell down to $6,550. This is going to be temporary.
These hacks are becoming a common scenario sadly. Hope we develop further more so we don't have to be facing such trouble any more.
5452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Token sale without registration, kyc and etc on: June 20, 2018, 06:13:25 PM
KYC and all those shitty verification became kinda mandatory right now. You will be seeing most ICOs looking for it. To be honest, I don't see why an ICO would need customers detail. Even those illegitimate scammy ICOs asks for KYC so that they can sell those information for some extra money after scamming. If you don't want to go through KYC, you best bet is to wait till the coins hit the exchange, or just invest on other crypto currencies.
5453  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there an only reason for the current market? on: June 19, 2018, 10:33:55 PM
I’ve been thinking about it and I don’t find an only reason for what’s happening.

The main reason for the drop in December, 2013, and the following bear market was the Mt. Gox scandal but for the current one there seem to be different reasons.

I’m sure one of them was the too heavy bull market last year. This brought many people to the crypto market, attracted by a get-rich-quick thought, and when the market turned down, they were the first to sell.

What do you think? Is there just one or many? Which ones?

Its only when the market is red people starts asking "why all of a sudden this is happening", but not when the market is going green abnormally. I wonder why  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
Anyways, last year the price started to skyrocket without any reason. This needed a correction and we went through the correction phase resulting in current price. If you compare the price with last year (quarter 1), you will see that we are still on the green side. The price went up and people had to cash out their profit resulting in further more price dropping. This is temporary and we will soon be seeing the price go back up again once a balance is reached.
5454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling vs. "leveraged" trading on: June 19, 2018, 10:27:19 PM
Trading/leverage trading can be compared to gambling but depends on how you are doing your trading. If you start placing your trade without studying the market and not analyzing anything, but with a hope of "gaining" something then you are actually gambling cause you are hoping to make profit but you are totally uncertain about what is going to happen. But if you do your analysis properly chances are high that you have predicted the outcome thus this time you aren't gambling.
5455  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Experts Reduce End of Year Forecast for Bitcoin. on: June 19, 2018, 10:10:36 PM
someone who was predicting $43,370  just because price was rising fast is not an expert he is instead an attention whore. it works like this: when price is rising you keep predicting bullshit high prices. for example when it is $20k you say it will reach $50k when it is $50k you say it will reach $1 million and so on.
and it works both ways. when price is dropping the attention whores come out then also. they keep predicting bullshit low prices. for example when price is $10k they say it will be $5k, when it is $6k they say it will be $3k and so on.
it is extra funny when they do it about altcoins since there is no way of predicting when a pump bubble ends and when its dump is gong to end.
Not really a surprising thing and these kind of bullshit speculations been started since bitcoin was first traded. Speculations continue either both ways either increasing or decrease but same as you said no one really knows or can predict on where it is heading. Now in regards on whats happening on the history of price of bitcoin upto these years Experts or so-called professional traders would really have confusion because volatility can really break out their expectation anytime and its always been part of its nature on being unpredictable. Somehow fuds and panic sell or FOMO can affect bitcoins price but not a major thing.
True, but its not always FUDs or panic sell that causes the price to fall. You can't always blame those facts. Prices might fall if bunch of whales decides to cash out their profits. And most of these experts are not "trading" experts, rather "market manipulation" experts! They give high hopes to people so that those gullible people starts investing which causes the price to pump up but then the experts starts to dump to profit from the rise.
5456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Which exchange to use? on: June 19, 2018, 09:58:38 PM
Most of the cryptocurrency exchanges people mentioned here does not actually let you buy bitcoin and other crypto currencies with direct fiat deposits. They either did not read what you wrote or does not know what fiat is. Anyways, i used gdax (owned by coinbase so you can trust them but do keep this in mind that online exchanges are never safe!) once and was able to deposit fiat and buy bitcoin using the btc/usd pair. Funds took like one business day to appear on my account.
5457  Economy / Economics / Re: How to cope up with the falling prices? on: June 19, 2018, 07:51:40 PM
There are just couple of question I need some answering from people with enough experience in crypto.

Any particular tips on when to invest token when the prices are low?
And how can one manage to hold the tokens even the prices are bleeding?
Is there a specific time where one can pinpoint the best way to accumulate tokens?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
The best way to cope is to "hold your investment while taking full advantage of the falling price". As soon as you realize that the market is crashing, all you have to do is start investing more if you are going for long term holding. Keep investing smaller amount and as the price falls deeper keep increasing the amount you are investing. As soon as you see the price going back up again, start selling smaller portions and the more it rises the higher the amount you should be selling. I know it is easy to say, but hard to execute.
5458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to spot a scam ? on: June 17, 2018, 02:19:06 PM
How do you guys spot scam betting sites ? Which are the red flags with those kind of sites and do you believe the rating/review sites or they are mainly paid like the ICO review sites ?
Their outlook. Most of the scam sites just ripoffs the design from other gambling site. You will see that their page also looks unprofessional and too many typos. It will also be filled with bugs. Not to mention that most of the users over there will be fake/bot users. Also they won't show any proof of their bank roll.
5459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty without manager? on: June 16, 2018, 12:31:54 PM
Why is the bounty still centralized? I think that it would be cool if the participants themselves moderated other participants.

The scheme is very simple.
1. A part of the bounty is allocated to moderation. For example, 10%.
2. Every day, bounty members receive random tasks for moderation the work of other participants. Tasks are randomly distributed.
Example of task. A member of the bounty wrote a tweet about bounty company. You need to read the tweet and rate it. You can rate tweet as good or scam. If tweet is scam you must write why
3. Every task checked by 5 - 30 peoples. Task marked as "well done" only if 70% peoples mark it as good. This mechanism is similar to the transaction confirmation mechanism in blockchain. The difference is that blockchain use 51% rule.
4. For every task members get stack. At the end of bounty stacks calculated and members receive tokens for moderation.
5. Accounts whose ratings differ from most people will very often will be banned. This is mechanism from blockchain too. This will remove members who want to reduce the number of stacks and get more reward.

All system must be transparent for all and based on bitcointalk accounts. What do you think about it?

UPD: Manager still needed but work only on content creation and news.
Create tons of alt accounts or just get a group of people who will rate each other as perfect, so wouldn't that be campaign abuse? The proposition you gave is filled with flaw. You will still need a neutral bounty manager who will manage everyone. Anyways, why would you need to make bounty campaigns decentralized? I don't see much of a benefit, but more of a chaos.
5460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are other ways to earn? on: June 16, 2018, 12:18:36 PM
I'm actually new to this industry and i want to earn some money without putting some in the line(A.K.A investing) and i doubt myself that i could actually know how to manage my coins is there any way to earn money that would kick start me in this industry?
Nothing can be earned for free. You will have to invest your time if you don't have money to invest. You can trying providing services to people in exchange for bitcoins or other crypto currencies. Make a thread stating your skills and start selling it over here. You can also join bounty programs or signature campaigns over here (though you won't earn much). Others suggesting you faucet is actually a bad idea. They are waste of time and all you will be doing is collect dusts which won't even cover your transaction fee.
