As a newbie, and not a dev or geek I do not posess programming knowledge, but last week I did try and cancel a buy order on Cryptsy and my 27 LTC dissapeared, sent a ticket to their support for assistance. In the interim another trader on their forum suggested that I make another minimal buy order and cancel that, and the missing coins might be credit back into the account. I did what was suggested, and fortunately my missing coins returned, from their coin holding account? I know that is not exactly on point with the subject of transferring mined coins into Cryptsy but it might help. Furthermore recently received a belated update from Cryptsy support in respect of their new "Audit Button" sited at the top of their Balance page which apparently resets the correct balance to an account which has errors or missing coins, please note they state it can only be used once every 30 mins. I do not know if this audit button works as I have not tried it. Hope this helps  . PS . Keep at it Lavajumper and Littledigger and everyone else, your doing a fantastic job, all the attacks suggest you must have the competition really worried  . software architecture wise Cryptsy was designed by ignorant's that are learning on the job. They will eventually have to redesign everything from scratch because the way they did it doesn't work. Waiting for more then a split second for a trade is too much. At cryptsy it can take minutes sometimes. Its almost as if they have some college kid do the matches by hand. Deposits are never automatic at the coin X confirms. My guess is they have a job that runs whenever and processes the deposits. Again, another terrible software architecture choice. |

OK - my thoughts over this DDos'ing. I'm just a user of the pools and with not much experience in the technicalities let me chip in with why I think all the pools are getting 'attacked' : I am convinced that not only the SXC but also most other coins are becoming attractive to the masses and some amongst those masses want to gather as many coins as possible to themselves, so they simply want to stop the process of all us miners getting a chunk of the cake by DDos'ing so they can mine along on their own servers while all other servers are down..
I generally try to keep this subject off the threads. My feeling is that when we report DDoSing we are actually feeding the beast. Most of the tech's I know that have engaged in this activity are egomaniacs with inferiority complexes, and a little unbalanced, so anything said about it has unpredictable results. But the elephant is sitting in the middle of the room right now. Here's my list: Lavapit pool: DDoSed, ssh-brute-force, web frontend crafted packets, rpc discovery. Lavapit SXC Node: DDoSed, ssh-brute-force, attempts at rpc. ( Yes, this is an attack on known nodes. ) Lavajumper P2Pool: DDoS, firewall brute-force login attempts. Lavapit Faucet ( even offline ) : DDoS, web frontend crafted packets. My Dev Environment: DDoS, ssh brute-force. [EDIT:] Block explorer: DDoS This all began around the 9th, and has been continuing with varying frequency. Anyone else? once those guys start to get a piece of led in between the eyes the message will get across. They are not techies, they are criminals, and to be honest, there's no shortage of those in the crypto community |

Yeah there will be swings. Especially with the coins drastic price increase there are a few massive holders dumping coins and driving price Down. hopefully when there is a bit better distribution the price will stabilize a bbitand even go up. It seems like everyone is tripping over each otherto sell cheaper lol.
Yeah, in the short term the big dumps hurt the price. But in the long term, those big dumps are actually good for the coin. Because it helps to 'spread the wealth'. The more people that have it, the more will use it, and the more than use it, the more it will become valuable. a I wrote earlier, the wolves played with it. Price still dropping, I have invested 150 ltc in sxc... should I sell or hold?
the rule of thumb on ANY investment is to buy when everyone is selling and selling when everyone is buying. Unfortunately the opposite can be seen every day in stock markets around the world and crypto markets are no different. People behave in greedy herds. People are greedy and follow the herd, where the herd goes they go, they don't want their neighbor to make a buck and throw it on their face, they want to reply back they also made a buck. Professionals take advantage of this herd human psychology and literally steal money from good people. Selling now would mean you are part of the herd. If anything now is the time to buy more. It doesn't mean it can't go down further, you can buy more if you want. It means that on the next run, and it will happen in a month or so, you have a stack to sell to the herd. Trade smart and stop following the herd. The wolves have a full stomach now, but they will come back. Get ready to join them on the slaughter of the herd |

Yeah a,, the Asian market has woken up now to dump the Coin.but I am not perturbed..I was trying to sell just 500 sexcoins al day on cryptsy but it was playing up..because I couldn't buy and sell and do trades as i wanted I am down 0.2 btc thanks to the site not functioning properly..I hope they put sexcoin on coinse as well so we have choice..If one site isn't functioning properly we could trade on another..Or is there another place that trades sexcoin? I would never sell a coin undervalued and selling now would be silly..I think sexcoin has a lot of stuffing in it..  the asian market has been up for awhile, call it the european market started the dump. But don't worry, this is normal when you take 10000% run. I'm surprised it didn't happen earlier. The dump started when a stupid guy placed a 100k offer at .005. Funny, he's still there, maybe he has now learned that trying to sell big blocks creates a selloff It's not the 100k offer that did it, it was the end of the rise. Actually the chart shows a classic elliott wave up with 5 legs. There were a lot of 100k+ sells earlier and did no harm. On another note, I wouldn't get caught up trying to achieve optimum trading, buying at the low and selling a the very tip, it's impossible. For my experience this 2 days, I started with 190k (bought around 0.00012). I sold 120k of them at avg price of 0.00025. Now this is a nice 100% profit, but if I looked at it from the point that it multiplied 30 folds later, I would have had a heart attack . I sold my last 70k at 0.006 (on the rise not the decline), overall I went up from around 2 to 15btc. Had I kept those 120k, I would have much more now, should I regret the selling? I don't, I see it that I made some profit from the 120k, and more profit from the 70k. The downside is, I returned to smoking after 6 months of quitting  correct, like they say in the stock market nobody goes broke for taking a profit. |

Im just glad I caught it somehow at the start.
arrgh. I just bought 8000 coins for around 50$. Then today I sold them after a downswing with 750% profit at 0.002 ltc. Now it is at 0.006ltc.  and its going to be an easy at least double from here |

Current network hashrate is > 500 MH/s. So I'm betting on one or more multipool which switched to sexcoin because it is by far the most profitable coin since this morning. 1 multipool can easly do 200 to 300 MH/s, thus destroying the network for everyone else. For cryptsy, explanation is simple : every order is put in a queue which is FIFO or rather First submitted First processed. So if you are cryptsy server, have an insane lag, and cannot process orders as they're submitted, you can very well display much lower sell orders than buy orders. For a buyer, submitting a higher buy order does NOT mean that you will get all the cheap sell orders. The guy who submitted a cheaper buy order before you and was also eligible to get those sell orders will get them before. So if you want to get SXC's no matter what, you can place a buy order for a totally fancyfull amount, just to be sure that nobody will dare put more, which will secure your buy of the cheapest sell orders available in the queue when it's your turn, not knowing what they will cost, but it should be ~ current market price as seen in the trade history. Yes, cryptsy is totally fucked, and you cannot know the sate of the market with this lag. I hope no one decides to stick a fork in then we will have sh*ft coin lol and that won't be nice. I am trying to make a small sale on crypsy but selling doesn't seem to be happening there. Are there any other good sites to trade sexcoin on? I might transport 100 there to trade up and down.
cryptsy has an horrible matching engine. They tried to reinvent the wheel, well, they never saw the original wheel. Back in the days when I supported the option trading software at AMEX, the way it was done was via a structured buffer. But they don't teach that in college. the engine cryptsy devised is so bad that is a shame for the programmer to call himself a software engineer. If I were him I would go apply for a burger flipping job at macdonals lol |

Also you should set cgminer in auto mode to monitor the cutoff temperature, just in case a fan goes bad The temperature is ok there is no problem http://imgur.com/S89FcC1 but i get alot of rejected. never, but never, run the video cards without protecting against temperature. A fan can go bad at any time and temperature will rise very fast and burn them. The operator can answer for the reason of rejected, but i believe is caused by the low mining diff at the pool. There was some talk before of using vardiff, but not sure if its on that pool |
