561  Economy / Gambling / Re: Fiat/Crypto Gambling Sites With Big Bonuses on: September 03, 2021, 11:27:26 PM
I would like to see more crypto-related websites, only 7bit Katsu and BitStarz casinos are available to claim bonuses. AFAIK, Stake, and other popular crypto casinos offer various bonuses. For new registrations, adding the referral links and explaining the wager requirements will bring more traffic, IMHO.

Exactly this. Well said.

The fiat sites generally also have a lot of hoops to jump around and they can easily ban you if they think you're acting shady. Same with some of the crypto services provided.

I just think that OP should diversify a little bit here and look into some of the more established crypto casinos that have been around for a while.
562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sport bet odds accumulation on: September 03, 2021, 11:16:59 PM
Hi am new to gambling and am a fan of football but a novice in gambling games so I focus more on football betting.
I will like to ask which site gives the best odds on football matches?

Fairlay, Sportsbet.io, Stake.

Nitrogenbet generally has pretty good odds as well but given their recent issues I would probably try avoid them until they sort out their stuff.

If you're asking about parlays (accumulator bets) then pretty much all of the aforementioned services offer them and as long as the individual leg odds are fine, you're good.
563  Economy / Economics / Re: Recent advertisement for Visa - what a joke on: September 02, 2021, 11:14:56 PM
I don't watch much TV on the TV itself nowadays, so I don't know if anyone has been talking about this ad or not:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbvl60_CZl8

"What a load of bullshit", I found myself saying aloud after witnessing that for the first time.  How can it be working for everyone when so many people in the world are unbanked?  And how much of the wording in that was deliberately chosen to mirror the kinds of things we say about Bitcoin?  It feels very much like a pre-emptive first strike on their part, possibly demonstrating some insecurities about the threat their business model now faces.

Anyone else get the sense they had crypto in mind when they wrote the script for it?

Spot on man.

It seems like they are trying to differentiate themselves from the rest of CeFi?

But perhaps they are trying too hard. It just seems pretentious to offer yourself as some sort of network for "everyone" when half of the world doesn't even have access to your network, and you are still running on the archaic fiat infrastructure.
564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spain bans betting adds - no celebrities, no sport sponsorship, no daytime adds on: September 02, 2021, 10:06:24 PM
This is weird, does this have anything to do with ESPN, recently claiming $3 billion in funding, most likely from advertising/sponsorship, that's just my mind.

However, I think the reasons below that made the Spanish government make rules and ban gambling sponsors.
Quote
The reason is that more than 50 percent of clubs have sponsorship from gambling companies which are reported to provide income for the club in excess of 40 million pounds (approximately $55.093.200 ) per year.

This is a factor that angers the Spanish government for most of the sponsors of gambling so far, if the banned club, doesn't find an alternative sponsor, this will be fatal for them, in terms of money, the effect is bigger and the risk to the club.

The gambling sponsorship business is very profitable.

Yeah exactly.

I'm not sure what the Spanish government is doing. Are they trying to deliberately get rid of the whole sports sector which is so lucrative?

From a taxation perspective they should just leave the industry as is and let it generate them a fat amount of taxes. Banning logos on jerseys is probably the worst way to go about banning gambling advertising anyway so not sure what they want out of this.
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in NFT & Metaverse sector now, everyone can be an investment expert on: September 02, 2021, 09:13:24 PM
When people are greedy, be fearful.

I personally think that the NFT sector is way too oversaturated right now.

Sure, it has potential for the future, but it definitely has got some real crappy projects fetching million dollar valuations.

Sort of reminds of ICOs back in the day. It's the same sort of hype.
566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to make passive income in crypto with altcoins on: September 02, 2021, 09:00:01 PM
After performing an extensive “DYOR” on cryptocurrencies, it turns out that there are different avenues to make profit or gains within the crypto space. Based on your expertise, which avenues works the most gains for you and why?

Try staking.

ETH staking right now is yielding around 5% APY and that's attractive returns added onto any potential ETH/USD returns in the first place.

Also you could try margin lending on major exchanges/lending on centralized platforms such as Celsius. Although that is probably a lot more risky and you are subject to counterparty risk as you no longer have control over your coins for the time period.
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people buying NFT on: September 02, 2021, 08:26:53 PM
I just wonder why people buying NFT artworks like cryptopunks. I am not against NFT and I love it. I actually own some NFT games accounts like CB, Axie, Dpets because I am earning from it.. But for NFT artworks can you tell me what is the benefits. And why some of the people buying it?

Pure and utter hype.

Unfortunately a lot of projects which have no substance are getting pumped up because their prices are exploding and there is media attention.

People saying that NFTs have a future are right. But their future is probably a lot different from its current usage case as a means to speculate and flip JPGs for short term profit.
568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An alternative to Poker on: September 02, 2021, 08:15:43 PM
Hey guys,

what do yout think about a new game, which involves both luck and skill like poker? Is there already such an alternative on the market? The problem with poker is that it is already solved by algorithms. Sure, there are still some players, but not as much as in the old glory times...

Edit: I'm just regarding games that you can play PvP and not against a house-edge-casino.. Wink

Jump into some NFT metaverses man.

You're going have a ton of fun, it's PvP and there can be an element of skill required depending on what games you are playing.

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "poker is already solved by algorithms". Isn't the whole point of poker to apply the algorithm to the best of your ability? If everyone could play poker perfectly then WSOP wouldn't be a thing...
569  Economy / Lending / Re: Need loan? Have 75% collateral? Contact me on: August 31, 2021, 12:15:40 AM
75% collateral to loan?

What happens if the borrower defaults? How do you manage to cover the loan amount then?

I highly suggest that you go with something along the lines of 120% collateral so that you are shielded from the fluctuations of the underlying security value. Good luck with the business.
570  Economy / Economics / Re: What could make a hacker return stolen $600m crypto on: August 30, 2021, 05:02:56 AM
You'd be stupid to believe that someone would be such a selfless good Samaritan for absolutely no reason.

I think that there was certainly some sort of leverage that the network held against him, or he screwed up covering his paper trails. Certainly not something that was voluntary in the slightest.

Another possibility was that he simply didn't anticipate the success that he would have and the sheer value of the hack. It's hard to keep thing down low when it's a whole network's assets being hacked as you know they'd be coming after you with all their resources.
571  Economy / Economics / Re: Not communism: The real cause of hyperinflation in Venezuela on: August 30, 2021, 04:24:25 AM
The real cause is something that everyone knows and largely ignores - which is that a fiat based system is simply not sustainable.

And this is not just something that is seen in Venezuela. This has happened in many countries including Zimbabwe, Germany, Argentina, Italy etc. Imprudent policymakers plus the arbitrariness of money printing is the root cause of hyperinflation.

Makes sense that BTC adoption is increasing over there. People are waking up to the truth.
572  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has crypto cloud mining got market? on: August 29, 2021, 11:45:11 PM
Absolutely not.

Cloud mining was a fad of the past when people actually believed that they would be able to make passive income from this stuff. And then bitcoin difficulty skyrocketed and most services shut down/became unprofitable and people quickly exited.

You probably won't be abel to make any money from cloud mining at this stage, either as an end user or a provider. There are plenty of other opportunities around.
573  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigeria leads sub-Saharan Africa’s P2P bitcoin trade on: August 29, 2021, 05:55:20 AM
Trying to ban bitcoin and other decentralised crypto is a futile exercise.

It's like wack-a-mole. If you try to limit centralised exchanges then exchange activity will simply pop up in other places such as P2P. We've seen this happen in Venezuela and India and we're now seeing it happen in Nigeria. Not surprising whatsoever.

The more productive thing to do is obviously to increase positive regulation in this field so that there's more tax revenue collected. It's as simple as that.
574  Economy / Lending / Re: bitcoin loan with shares as collateral? on: August 28, 2021, 11:49:48 PM
Future growth prospects is not valid collateral.

How can the seller even dispose of the asset if you do default on your loan? I'm supposing that this particular share is not traded on any major exchanges nor any OTC markets, which means that the only way to liquidate this is for the seller to scour potential buyers. The 90% discount for fire-sale is still contingent on the company and I doubt there is any legal obligation for them to buyback shares.

If you have listed shares then I'm sure lots of people can help you.
575  Economy / Gambling / Re: New Crash Gambling Website! betbitcoin247.io on: August 28, 2021, 02:40:38 AM
Would you consider escrowing some funds/sign a message with your cold storage wallet to show that you have enough reserves to pay out any wins?

I think that it is a bit difficult for anyone in the community to trust such a new website right now who has no history of operations. If you really want to attract whales that is a given.

Also the UI as others have said is a bit plain. Would definitely try to work on that if you have spare funds to invest.
576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Best Gambling advice on: August 26, 2021, 09:50:38 PM
When I got involved in gambling, I used to have a mentor that was guiding me, on one of those occasions when Luckybit was still in operation I have a balance of about 0.0012 BTC and the withdrawal condition was a minimum of 0.002 BTC so I got stocked in between and I run to my mentor for help and he guided me through the games and I won all till my balance reached 0.0032 BTC and I got greedy and told him I want to continue gambling and not withdraw again, but he made one comment that stick into my brain he said to be careful because gambling can ruin your life.

What is the best gambling advice you ever got from your mentor?

Don't see anything special with this piece of advice, imo.

The best advice that I got was just treat gambling like a form of entertainment, nothing less and nothing more.

Don't see it as a profit making venture as you are not going to make long term profits, period. Mathematically you will always lose in the long run. Once you adjust your mindset to this you will never be subject to the FOMO and loss chasing that others are haunted by.
577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 26, 2021, 09:30:53 PM
Spurs just need 26 wins this coming season in order for Gregg Popovich to become the winningest coach in NBA history NBA history, and that is achievable as last season they had 33 wins.  - https://www.espn.com/nba/standings

Maybe after he break the all time record, he will consider retiring as he is already 72 years old and that's already more than the retirement age.

I honestly doubt that's what on Coach's mind, tbh.

Spurs just need to get to the playoffs again. It's really a shame that the Spurs have been struggling ever after Kawhi left... I'm rooting for them to get some new exciting talent along with Dejounte Murray and co.

But if we're honest they're probably out of title contention for a while - especially during the transition period after Pop leaves.
578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esport Gambling with Crypto. on: August 26, 2021, 03:20:26 AM
Poker, Dice betting, and Casino games are in the gambling market for a long time but when do you think Esport betting such as  League of Legends and Dota became popular.

League of legends especially..., was released in 2009 the same year bitcoin was released in both are different but have progressed a lot finance-wise.

Do you think Esports betting has a good scope in the future where most of the teens are getting into games like LoL and world of warcraft, Dota, etc?
Even if they don't hear this in ads they will most likely hear it from their in-game teammates.

It's already a huge market.

I don't think that there is too much uncertainty that the esports market is going to simply continue to expand its dominance. Especially after this pandemic period, esports growth has far outpaced any traditional sport growth due to restrictions.

As others have said, I think that bookies would be pretty dumb to not take advantage of this trend, and offer markets in LoL, Dota, CSGO etc. if they aren't already.
579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: August 25, 2021, 09:48:58 PM
I'm not sure why people are playing with ETH, tbh.

BTC fees are lower than ETH gas these days if you actually follow the two coins. And I'd say that it's still relatively much more liquid compared to ETH.

The higher BTC prices are certainly great for casinos given that their turnover/volume soars during periods of bull markets. Whales who have held bitcoin for years don't care about fiat valuations - they play the games in terms of BTC.
580  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BetBTC Sportsbook is shutting down. Please withdraw the funds before 1/Sept/2021 on: August 25, 2021, 09:07:41 PM
I'm not sure if voiding all the other bets is the best policy to take here.

They seem to be in a real rush to close this entire operation down which makes me wonder if they have run into trouble with some sort of authority/regulator.

I think that the more transparent thing to do is probably let all of the bets settle, and simply not allow any new bets to be placed. Instead of voiding without warning all the bets that have been placed (potentially years ago on long shot events).
