Well the solution seems to be right in your face. Grow the slack userbase.  We have passed 160 users on slack, had a nice growth spurt in the last week, a lot of people are chipping in towards development when they can. Really positive sign is that a lot of the funding has come from new users. 82.85% complete. How does this differ from the original guldenshares? |

I support it as long as distributions are done on a fixed day each month
Project direction
I think the actions being taken now are correct however i think there are several bigger questions that need to be asked such as:
- What is foldingcoin's long term purpose?
- How will foldingcoin as a asset be given utility?
- Why should someone mine foldingcoin verses something like ether?

The price has been holding steady at >25 satoshi for about 5 months now indicating market maturity. This is true even whilst bitcoin has been surging

Regarding your questions: What is foldingcoin's long term purpose? - Our longterm goal is to become a huge part of the folding@home initiative in computing power and create a rich token economy on top of that. How will foldingcoin as a asset be given utility? - FLDC is the fundamental asset of the merged folding platform, so will always be the main underlying currency. Why should someone mine foldingcoin verses something like ether? - People should choose this coin if they want to do something meaningful with their mining and if they believe in the platform we're building with the merged folding. Basically our power lies in the amount of miners. |

We've been through a lot of good and bad things lately. Bad things are easy to solve with such team, and the good...well they'll remain good. We had an impostor on one of our social network and the GitHub. Our lawyers took the impostor account down in no time, now we're dealing with "the developer". Important Notice: If it isn't approved by GameCredits dev team / senior foundation member, if it isn't on our OP, soc media, website... don't use it! It isn't our product. Don't get caught by scammers peeps.  Two days ago we have witnessed to attempt of market manipulation. I assume someone recognized the potential of incoming products but wanted to buy way cheaper. The epilogue: someone bought lot of cheap GameCredits and the price recovered in no time leaving the dumper in loss. I'm not about to offer trading advice, all i'm going to say is: The API is fully tested and the Webelinx devs have it now, it's matter of days when we'll have few most popular Webelinx games with GAME payment. Now what's going to happen to the price when hundreds of thousands of their player hurdle to test-drive GameCredits? And it will be just the beginning! You know the best what price you're looking for, i know the potential of our platform, and, price-wise, it's way above 1$/GAME. Have a enjoyable sunday everyone! I know it is easy to complain but i get the feeling this coin is going nowhere. Every single month promises are made in google meetup which are then broken by the next meeting. Several projects such as off-chain distribution system, online store and other projects have been canceled. Distributions are always running late and coin price has been in downward spiral for a month. Dev disappears for weeks on end and comes back with little apology. I understand that foldingcoin is not peoples entire lives but it takes just 5 minutes to post updates on this forum so people dont assume you have abandoned the project.
Do i think FLDC will fail? - probably not but i think its best days are behind it. I hope FLDC will prove me wrong in the long term but i have my doubt.
Hey K210, yeah i know this is a problem and i promise im trying my best to get FoldingCoin there. We have helene helping with social media which is a huge help, but there is still a lot to this project that needs volunteer hours to get there quicker. But i cant invest 40 hours a week to the project anymore, so i am kindof at a point where special things like off chain distribution and other things like that are just on the back burner for now. I am still talking with that development company and things look good there, but in the mean time keep calm on fold on  Remember everyone, email me rross@foldingcoin.net if you are interested in volunteering, or promote FoldingCoin in your own way, or join in the discussion at the slack http://slack.foldingcoin.net/Yes i can understand your position afterall foldingcoin is not a sustainable full time job. I am just pointing out various areas in which i think FLDC can improve. I think merged folding should be brought back as soon as possible as assets such as FDCARD might be created again in future. If FLDC has one strength it is definitely the merged folding platform. Just a couple of months ago i sold 1 FDCARD for about 400XCP and i held the XCP until recently when it jumped to $2.20 per XCP. I think you can calculate how much i made I made more from merged folding than i did from 8 months of bitcoin mining which speaks volumes about the merged mining platform and its potential. Thanks for your comments and congrats on that amazing FDCARD sale (I can now stop wondering who was the lucky seller). As I mentioned before, merged folding is definitely coming back and is the number one priority of the Foldingcoin team. Contacts are being made with several potentially interested parties already. So stay tuned and thanks for keeping up your CPU folding. Good to see so much discussion here. I understand that K210 has some doubts about the project and rightly so. I hope we can earn your trust back with the projects we're working on. Robert is not able to work on FLDC full time anymore, but he is working on solving the distribution issues and even put some of his own money in to hire external help. |

April 7th I said we are releasing a new wallet in a couple of weeks, and it is now the 21st. Not sure how you conclude a "coin dies" when it has been exactly 2 weeks. No Bytecent is very much alive and we are preparing for the new release soon.
I am worried about the fate of the coins and I was worried that the purchasing power of the coin falls . So I 'm worried about the future of the coin . I have been in crypto for a long time and am not worried. An undervalued coin is working on a real tangible business model. I think it is a pretty safe bet. It might fluctuate in value a bit, but that is very common with growing initiatives. |
