Still strongly supporting this coin Smiley Perhaps we should actively try to get it on Cryptopia as well?

687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: December 02, 2015, 01:42:45 PM
We will never give up on exp.

You got that right. And those who leave Expanse will miss the great opportunity to make profits after everything else is settled. This is just the beginning for EXP. Prepare for more excitement.  Grin

Same here! I used profit from ethereum crowd sale to buy back my ether and invest the rest in Expanse. In it for the long run. Smiley

Will from Block Label here.

Some of you may have noticed “FANTOKEN” is now part of the merged mining. It's a token that represents 10% of our profits.

I wanted to say a few words to be clear on what that exactly means.

The question we're trying to solve with “Fan Tokens” is: “How do we find a way for people to receive a few BTC whenever they share one of our songs with their friends?”

It isn't feasible to track every single tweet or blog post, nor is it possible to track when people share something by word of mouth. That's why Fan Tokens represent 10% of our profits. By having a token that represents any success the project may or may not have we welcome anybody who wants to be a part of it. While we're at it, we might as well incentivize doing good as well.

E.g. you have Fan Tokens and you share a song with someone:

1. That person listens to the track.
2. Which in turn generates profit for Block Label.
3. A more profitable Block Label is better for those who have Fan Tokens.
4. A better Fan Token is more desirable to others and more people would want some.
5. Incentivizing more people to fold.
6. The more people that fold, the more people that will receive Fan Tokens.
7. More people likely to share a song... Full circle! Anybody want to make a nice flow chart of this? Wink

That's the idea anyway, whether that will be the case is whole different matter.

Oh, another thing I wanted to make clear is the daily distribution amount. It's 100.
(foldingcoin's announcement stated 1000)

I've made a (test) page so it's easy to check your stats, however, Robert would have to confirm if this is correct. I've merely assumed that this is how it will more or less tally up. Take a look here: http://www.blocklabel.com/fan-token-distribution/

Thanks Will!

For the people that missed the announcement:

We are pleased to announce our next partner in the Merged Folding platform, and thats Block Label! Block Label is a project for artists from anywhere in the world to easily get their music on digital platforms and services (e.g., Spotify, iTunes/Apple Music, Tidal). Using blockchain technology, Block Label distributes its profit to artists by the amount of tracks they’ve contributed. In other words, artists own a share of total profits generated by Block Label.

Block Label utilizes the blockchain to give artists ownership of profits by using the Counterparty protocol. Artists receive a “Block Label Token” (a token that represents a share of profits) for each track they upload/add to the catalogue. This token works as a tool for the artist to receive their payment over the Bitcoin network. Fans who have “Fan Tokens” will also receive a share of profits.

For more information please visit the Block Label FAQ page. The FANTOKEN page will be setup on Thursday for my next full day of FLDC work, so look for it then. Here is the distribution schedule for FANTOKEN:

Counterparty Token : FANTOKEN
FANTOKENs distributed per day: 1,000 100
Start Date: November 1st
End Date: TBD
Thanks and as always you can email me rross@foldingcoin.net with any questions or concerns
693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [$$$] Money | It's all about the money [$$$] on: November 13, 2015, 10:56:47 PM
....

interesting...InvestorKing is on Cryptopia right now giving free $$$

All the best

That sounds interesting. Smiley Can you transfer money there? Or is it one of the faucets?

Sure and you can tip other ppl $$$ if you want! Mine and exchange among a good group of ppl!

Come join us at cryptopia!

I was giving away some $$$ indeed! I bought 500,000 Dot to get the tipbot going. I think tipping would be a great use for this coin. Why are the images on the first page not showing? Is the devs membership level too low? (I cannot post any images either)

Good idea! I don't know about the images, but they only seem to be links.
694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [$$$] Money | It's all about the money [$$$] on: November 13, 2015, 06:49:11 PM
As $$$ is almost over a year old, I was wondering how many coins we have in total now and what the current block reward is.

The block reward is pretty vague for this coin as it is supposed to decrease by 1% a week after block 600,000 with a starting value of 64$$$ per block.

Looking at the original Github, I can see in the main.ccp file that the actual amount of blocks the reward changes is 20160. Putting the numbers in an excel gets me a current block reward (at block 886558) of 55.04 and a total amount of coins of  56,034,723

I'm not sure how low the block reward can get (either not below 32 or 1), but assuming a continued block reward decrease of 1% per week, the total amount of coins is really difficult to get to. I put it in a graph to show how it levels of at around 160 mln coins:

Anybody knows what the minimum block reward is? This will make a huge difference to the total amount of coins that can be reached.

Jonesd- Thanks for the Folding badge!  Grin   It looks like I only get to show it off here in plain text (I'm too new).

Unless Robert creates his own card or any other game and you get to wear that badge in a game   Smiley

We will get the Foldingcoin forum's going soon, so I will assure people can get their badges there Smiley

...

It's easier to be negative online than it is to be negative offline. Small people IRL need to feel large online. The silver lining about trolls is, they bump the thread more than anyone else in the hopes to harm something but thats simply not how life works. As a matter of fact, every attack to a group from an outside "threat" only serves to make the community stronger, more unified. Trolls are ironically good Cheesy FEED THE TROLLS!

Haha, you're right about that one. In some cases coins actually lock up their thread in which case the trolls win, so let's keep it open here Smiley

Looks nice, guys! Great job! Smiley

Still waiting for new development from Expanse. The new GUI wallet and a paper wallet generator, among other features would make it very exciting. Maybe someday, Expanse would attract more investors and get the attention it deserves.  Smiley

it's shit. it doesn't deserve anything.

You're a classic troll:

I note also that Kushedout thinks this diversion is gold. I agree with him. I shall shortly deal with his last post where he avoids my main question and resorts to name calling again.
[/b]

I didn't name call, I stated a fact, you are a newbie. This is based on your registration date, Comment Count and your lack of trading and staking skills.

Name calling is what you did when you called us "organ grinder" and "monkey."

I thought I did answer your irrelevant questions,  If not, please clarify.

Just one question for you now, Kushedout: is Ratecoin staking heavily loaded in favour of a few? Yes, or no. Simple.

My experience is that it is. I believe that your answer will be of interest to potential investors and I don't think the question is irrelevant. I'll come back to you later with a more comprehensive post dealing with your previous comments and any answer that you may care to give in the meantime.

yes scam

And another one:

let this piece of shit die please.

And another one :

you know what? fuck this bagholder takeover shit.

I never really understand this attitude, because it seems like such a waste of time. I have made a lot of unsuccessful and only some successful bets on coins. The few that were successful were usually the ones that started small like this one. The profits I made on those good bets far outweighed the bad ones. Successful investors don't get scared to easily and think long-term. The chance of it becoming a success usually relies on the developers sticking to their plan and not getting distracted or unnerved.

Stuff like your comments should not let the devs think they lost support. I think still quite a lot more serious people (look at their forum levels) are waiting to see where this coin ends up.

@devs: I'm patient Smiley
