Thanks for the replies! it makes sense to do it that way. I noticed the coin for the low spread and high volume. Does the link to the market price work or has it been manipulated in the past?

Hi!
New to this coin. Wonder what the mining experience is of people here. Is the whole verifying thing doable, or a hassle?

Fantastic I will tweet these out tonight, nicely done on those articles . Well done! It explains folding and our coin very well!

So whats going on with this, I bought a while ago at 300 and now it's worth 30, what its wrong with this coin?
We have been building a marketplace (like an ebay) in which it cost FLDC to post items. This will be a really good first case use for FLDC and it will be great for the counterparty community. We are using the LTB Tokenly services to accompmlish this and james has been helping write some of their code in order to make it work better with the marketplace. Check it out http://shop.foldingcoin.net/Why not introduce a program where if someone buys FLDC they get 10% extra from the 100M undistributed FLDC? For example if someone bought 100k FLDC off poloniex then they would also receive an additional 10K FLDC from the 100M spare FLDC. Something like this would get more people to buy and hence increase the price. OCTO is already doing something similar and they have doubled their price in under a week. This is a very interesting concept, let me show the team this and I will get back to you Any update on this? I suppose it is best to discuss this openly during the monthly meeting. Personally, I'm not sure this would be a good approach as I think the price will simply asjust to the added coins and fall back once we stop. I am, however, fond of giveaways and rewards to miners that support the coin for extended periods of time. It would for example make sense to reward people that mined for over a 100 days, regardless of their mining power. Just some thoughts

Some idiot is dumping at ridiculous prices. Those of you looking for opportunity, I'd say there it is... and if you know who's dumping, smack 'em upside the head with a cluebat, will ya?
There's definitely some manipulation going on to make the price drop. There was steady buying, then someone put up a wall, dropped the wall and sold off. Rinse and repeat a second time for today. Biomech, poloniex actually isn't that bad. You should see the Bittrex board. Constant PnD. I have basically stopped trading over there because of all the manipulation. Anywho, it's crypto. But once everything you guys have set in place comes to light, we'll be good. In the end: KEEP CALM AND HOLD YOUR GMC!

Damnit I was so excited when I sold 600k at 400satoshi..... And now this....
At what price did you buy it? Like 250 I was like hell yeah, double.... Man that could have been like 10x I have been there many times. I sold blackcoin in the early days when it doubled. It rose to many more times that level. Now, I only sell coins to recoup my investment and keep the rest.

I never really like to respond during arguments like this, but since my experience with the team is very positive, I just want to share my opinion is a very positive one. You guys took a coin that was struggling and gave it a new purpose. It is still a long road ahead, so I'm just going to be patient and enjoy the ride.
@spacedevil: sorry that you have a different experience, so probably best to sell and invest in other coins. Don't become a fudder out of spite, please. ☺
Thanks, Jonesd. I was a bit over the top there, but I have tried with this guy. Spacedevil, I don't retract anything I've said, but I do apologise for my tone. I've been there, trying to keep my patience and failing many times. Only way to counter fud is by just keep fighting the good fight and don't let it stop you. Just know, there are people here that see the value.

Hello Everyone, WhyWeTance handed the development off of this coin a little while back and we've not been making much news or progress on it. Hope everyone would be happy to know that we've compiled a new windows wallet with QT5.3.1 updated dependencies and everything sync's and works. Launching another node as we speak. More developments to follow.
Good to see this is still going on.

Hi we are trying to compile this coin but have run into an error, anyone have any clues warning: Using 'dlopen' in statically linked applications requires at runtime the shared libraries from the glibc version used for linking /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgcc_s obj/netbase.o: In function `LookupIntern': /root/Gamercoin/src/netbase.cpp:92: warning: Using 'getaddrinfo' in statically linked applications requires at runtime the shared libraries from the glibc version used for linking /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgcc_s collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [gamecoind] Error 1
Thanks This is still the old version of the coin. It has been rebranded to gamecredits and you can find it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1010745.0

Why BLOCK price has fallen so much recently?
Not a clue I'm afraid. Personally it looks rather nuts to me. Sell before the decentralised exchange is released? Crazy. At least it's actually a very low volume. Perhaps it's just a couple of people who need the BTC or something. I think it probably has something to do with all your links dying on the main post:

let's see how we are going to handle this communication barrier. Hi, georgemand all others! You did a fine job with this barrier of communication. But in fact, this barrier does not exist ... And although my contributions in the source code are purely cosmetic , I have been closely and mindfully looking the progress of work on a new SpreаdСoin wallet. Hey awoland What do you think about altering the "pool resistant" code to "pool friendly" code, as suggested by chrysophylax? I'm pretty new to the coin, but doesn't making it pool friendly kinda defeats the whole purpose of this coin?

Is there any way i can get the total market cap for all cryptocurrencies from a year ago? Would like to make a comparison chart of how coins have competed over the last year in respect to % of total market cap.
I would use the internet archive: https://web.archive.org/web/*/coinmarketcap.com

Hi everybody,
I am new to spreadcoin, but from what I can see, things are pretty awesome! What I understood as pros untill now:
- smooth coin decrease instead of halving - compact transactions - only solomining - quite rare
Are there things I missed?
So can anybody give me a short recap of why this coin was in the coinmarketcap top 100 first and decreased so much? Any issues with mining perhaps?

What happened to the 100M foldingcoin that was set aside? If it is still set aside why not use it to pay someone to create a promotional video for foldingcoin? A small 2 minute video that sums up what foldingcoin is about could greatly help to increase the amount of people mining this coin.
Could be a good way to spent some of it. We currently do not have spent any of the funds and will only designate it after a vote. What do other people think of this idea?

Cryptopia mentions a node in their block explorer: 178.62.70.211:11082 You can add it by making a .conf or go to the debug console and type: addnode 178.62.70.211:11082 add That did not help unfortunately, my wallet is not syncing. Well hope it will be back since I liked the way of this coin. Did not work? Did you try to type it in your debug console? Mine is synching. Perhaps you should delete the blockchain and let it synch from the beginning.
