Respectable apology killyou72.
It's different in the Collectibles forum due to many of us consistently trading with each other time and time again, you grow to trust the people as your address/whereabouts are always being handed out for shipping details. It creates a different bond than if we were just red taggers in offtopic/other subforums. This is why you see a different dynamic from the Collectibles folk. That being said, there are many of us that will speak out regardless of who it is and call you on your shit if you say something stupid.. and a lot of the time after a good hard sleep that person sees where they went wrong and this thread/apology is a perfect example of that.
562  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WoodCollector]Nine Public Coin Collection Completed on: April 17, 2019, 03:43:00 PM

Just my opinion but, the number 10 I think is a clue.

Where do you see a 10?  Maybe I'm missing it.

This here?

Six of the coins are denominated in 10BTC. The other three are 1BTC.

Also @ tee - do you confirmed have #'s 1 through 9?  Could there be a chance that you have the #10 in your collection already and are missing another #, like the 6?
Yes each coin is very well documented in the original thread posted by WoodCollector https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1011340.msg10971986#msg10971986
This is the post of his that I have quoted in my OP.

middle left coin stands out as different due to the design.

High(er) res pics?

Best I've got currently.

By far the most shiny of them all, was hard to get a good picture.

Nice!  Looks like you're covering a lot of the possibilities.  Other thoughts I had:

* Can any signal can be detected?  (like placing near a radio makes the sound go all distorted)
* Are they all perfectly balanced?  Or perhaps lopsided in some way, where one side is much heavier than the other?
* How heavy are they in general?  Does that seem reasonable based on the density and type of wood involved? (if not, perhaps something is inside, etc)
* Perhaps gentle chemical tests can be used to spot a number of things, such as the presence or lack of wood glue (no idea if this is possible, just spit balling)

Man I could go on forever just thinking of possibilities haha.  I am just still floored that you have 9 of them together in your possession.

Feel free to edit your post if you think of anything else, I am always eager to take on new ideas. Until Coin 10 becomes known to be in existence it is up to our imaginations as to how we proceed.
I 99.9% will not try anything that damages the wood, even though it could be a possibility I would rather have these presented at a museum or a potential sale to someone that has the treasure hunting bug.

I too am floored that you have 9 all together, how long did that search take place?

My first two coins came through the door on October 24, 2017 and the last(ninth) came February 11, 2019 for a total of 475 days start to finish.

I 100% thought it was impossible and that I would end up with at most 6 or 7 of them. Ran into some obstacles along the way at each step.. only the first two coins were ever for sale in an auction. Everybody else I tracked down and had to make appropriate offers that would entice each owner to want to give up their coin. All it would take was for me to rub one of them the wrong way and my collection would have been incomplete no matter how hard I tried. With each owner I was completely transparent about how many of the coins I owned at the time and that it was my end game goal to reach all 9.. I knew this could potentially inflate the amount that they would want for their coin but I never wanted to pull the wool over anyone's eyes.

The journey taught me a lot of patience and if there is a Coin 10 out there I am very capable of waiting much longer until the right set of eyes end up on this thread.

Any updates to all this?   Shocked

Work in progress.

Last week I picked these up.

And I am going to be constructing a sort of "dark box" that will fit the coins and have a slot in top that will accommodate different sorts of lighting.
Waiting until its a bit nicer outside so I can turn it into sort of an event, have a few people look aswell over a few drinks. Others may be able to spot something I miss.
566  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Reference] Unique, Rare and All Crypto Collectable Posting Thread with LINKS on: April 17, 2019, 01:40:25 PM
I think my WoodCollector collection belongs here.

The more eyes we get on it the chances for a possible Coin 10 revealing itself becomes greater. Then we buy Casascius coins for all Grin

Edit to add some pics (some never before seen!). More in the link above including higher res.

567  Other / Meta / Re: Collectibles Sub forum on: April 16, 2019, 10:48:30 PM

Think about in the future when/if some pawn shop spammer comes and lists their "collectibles".. it would hurt the Collectibles forum but not currently be breaking any rules. Think flora x 10 due to it actually being someone's day job to bump their threads every single day at the 24hr mark.

A person might do something really bad in the future is not a good reason to add restrictions.  What your suggesting above is a worst case scenario that to my knowledge has never happened.  If someone like that showed up they could be dealt with in an appropriate manner and if neccessary rule changes could be looked at to adjust the problem users behaviour.  But until this kind of problem exists and becomes prevalent why do we need rules and restrictions to prevent something that isn't even happening yet.

I see where you are coming from but my mind has been trained to think in preventative ways and to solve issues before they happen. I am very happy that the Collectibles board hasn't turned into a big trash heap but as bitcoin becomes more mainstream and more and more people come around, I very much see a problem arising, hence my post. Both arguments have validity... one waits for a problem to arise then solves it, the other doesn't even let there be a problem, now or in the future. Both achieve similar results as long as once the problem arises it gets addressed sooner than later.
568  Economy / Reputation / Re: So it is okay for Lesbian Cow (u= 206143) to break their auction terms? on: April 16, 2019, 10:04:19 PM
So if this gets lost in the mail from the way to polyerbit and back to me I get my btc back that i bid right?

Since I actually didn't receive the item at no fault of my own I don't see why I should have to pay for the lost item in the mail.

I sold a 5 ltc coin that got lost in the mail and the buyer told me that it sucks to be me and everyone agreed with them they didn't have to pay. But I feel like when the shoe is on the other foot I will get fucked in both situations. I can almost guarantee it.

Given this nonsense, I will only send to minerjones on your behalf.  If you want to retract your bid go ahead that cool by me.  I will refund your deposit.

killyou72 wanted Lesbian Cow to send the notes to Polymerbit, then have Polymerbit sign them, then send them to killyou72. That is fine and all but Lesbian Cow would really only be responsible for the journey from LC -> Polymerbit. If something happened theft wise in the mail then things would be discussed between LC and killyou72. But after successful delivery killyou72 also wants to have LC on the hook for the items during the Polymerbit -> killyou72 mail journey. Completely ridiculous and anyone with a brain would have disqualified your bid after that statement.

The auction wasn't for signed notes, it was just for notes.. the signature was just a kind gesture by the creator of these. If you are concerned about them getting lost in transit then why not have them shipped first to yourself, then send them to polymerbit on your own. Is it because you want a fall guy in case something should happen? This way you could insure your package in case of theft/mail problems. I highly doubt you estimate the value of goods as actual so I really can't see you insuring your package, especially since you were trying to get a discount for your tx fees. BTW 2sats/byte go though just fine currently.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I see no breaking of the auction terms. You turned into a nightmare bidder and were already making plans as if you had won. If any terms were being discussed in private messages that only counts for if you won the auction. No terms were broken in the auction itself.
As anyone can see you have reading comprehension problems and posting this in Meta furthers the point that your understanding of the forum are very much so lacking. I encourage the campaign manager of your sig/avatar campaign to think twice about the quality of your posting. It seems as though you find it easiest to get your post count up by creating unnecessary drama.

571  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auction] Polymerbit $50 Scrip & Mystery Note #1 on: April 16, 2019, 05:29:18 PM
0.011BTC

Current high bid quoted above.  Ending tomorrow.

Current high bid.  killyou has withdrawn and is disqualified from any future bidding on this and any of my future events.

Wow. You just keep it coming don't you. Whu wouldn't you say that before you told me I could withdrawal my bid because you keep changing your terms with me

@killyou (whatever number)

You make it extremely difficult for anyone to transact with you on the forum.

You seem to come up with all sorts of wackadoodle methods and terms outside of the OP's (in general) post.

I wonder if you are really surprised at lesbiancow's remark to never deal with you again, as I also mentioned at one point a long time ago, i'll never do any business with you again, after some ridiculous terms you had on a $20 item  - no need to go into details, but you really cant be that surprised now can you?

thanks!

I asked LC if I still had to pay if the note got lost in the mail. And than I get hit with she will only mail it to MJ on my behalf thus breaking her own rules of sending it to polyerbit for a signature at my shipping expense

She could have just answered yes I still had to pay if the note gets lost in the mail and I would be fine with taking that risk

On top of insult to injury, I even let LC keep the difference between my bid and the previous bid after she let me retract my bid after she broke her own terms. and than I am told I can never bid on her items again like really.
It's just incredible how stupid and how big of a pest you have become. Every single time you bid or post absolutely anything there is always a "what if this" "what if that". You're a nightmare for anyone to transact with.

So here you wanted LC to ship this to Polymerbit because he would sign both notes as a sort of apology to LC for temporarily closing the doors at the same time this auction was running. Not only did you attack Polymerbit with insane accusations in their own thread but now you want LC to ship these to Polymerbit and then have Polymerbit ship them to you.. but still have LC on the hook if it gets lost. (I'd like to say that having both of these notes signed would increase the value of your notes far beyond what the auction ends at.)

Let's not even look at the fact that none of this should even be being discussed until after you win the auction. You're essentially just posting nonsense garbage that should take place in private messages. Nice sig and avatar btw, more than likely getting your post count up here hey?

/derail    apologies LC
572  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] Polymerbit Ltd. is going dormant (temporarily). on: April 15, 2019, 08:08:27 PM
~snipped all nonsense~

Look at this thread, someone that sells things and accepts people's money was transparent and let everyone know exactly what is going on. Can't say the same can you?
573  Other / Meta / Re: Collectibles Sub forum on: April 14, 2019, 05:27:45 PM
That discussion is only because flora is a total tard, they had 4 or 5 threads open and bumped them all the time, the fool is selling shit that no one wants,

That is my point. If there was a subsection for the random collectibles, the BTC collectibles could get full focus in the forum. I feel like many people want this already, and are also being frustrated by too many non bitcoin collectibles being posted on a website dedicated to BTC.

I am saying it should be a subsection, because people might still want to set apart their random collectible items from the Goods section. I might be overthinking the idea a bit too much, but I am feeling like things could be a bit more tidy there is all.

You're WAY overthinking it IMO.  The board is perfectly fine the way it is, I've personally bought non crypto coins from the board.  That issue from what I have seen is a one off (as tman mentioned). Why is it a problem again to have crypto and non crypto collectibles in the same board?  It has made a nice little community of itself the way it is.

I oftentimes speak up when something is not BTC related or if they link an ebay auction (I usually tell them Goods is a more appropriate subforum for their item). The last thing I want is for Collectibles to turn into Garage Sale. I actually support the OP and believe that the current Collectibles subforum should have somewhat stricter rules, which would also place these other items into a dedicated place of their own.

Think about in the future when/if some pawn shop spammer comes and lists their "collectibles".. it would hurt the Collectibles forum but not currently be breaking any rules. Think flora x 10 due to it actually being someone's day job to bump their threads every single day at the 24hr mark.

I'd prefer this attitude in DT1

Please review me in ˝ year again. I am here to learn and improve.

rather than this attitude in DT1

Trust don't come from a system but your actions every day.

You are proving my point.

You have no clue what you are writing about Wink You have no place in DT whatsoever.
575  Economy / Collectibles / Re: DigiPiglets.com - Bitcoin piggy bank - Gift idea for beginners and enthusiasts! on: April 11, 2019, 11:59:08 PM
If you are accepting payment for these already how come we have not seen anything besides a single pig prototype? All I see are various rendered pictures and links to Casascius and Denarium promotional pictures.

I ask this because we know that those holograms work great on metals, but your piggybank does not seem to be made from a metal. I think you need to stress test the hell out of the security of these. What if you can use a heatgun and make the plastic of the piggybank heat up enough that the hologram just falls off? What if you can slice the piggybank a mere fraction deeper than the hologram and be able to make out the QR code/private key underneath? What if the plastic causes a reaction with the printer paper and it becomes unreadable after a year?

You've come to a forum where many members have coins worth $1000, $10,000, even $100,000 worth of bitcoin. Your idea isn't a bad one, but you need to have every single checkmark checked on your sheet before you can even throw yourself into the mix, especially here.

You may say well it is only $10 worth of bitcoin.. but no, bitcoin itself was once worth $10 each and look at it now. There is potential here but you have more work to do.

577  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WANT TO FIND] Missing Fattcatt Auction PICS INSIDE HAVE A LOOK on: April 09, 2019, 08:22:45 PM
The "I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time for no reason whatsoever" does not belong here. In the future if you include this in your list of auction rules, just click the little x in the top right of your browser before you hit "post".

As I see it, most people add this clause to secure themselves in case of something very problematic arising that requires the use of it. Most of the times such clauses are never used against common sense. But then when the clause is there, it can be used like Fattcatt did and it's technically alright. Due to social standards around here, not so alright.

So it's a double edged sword. Maybe it's best that we use common sense here, like with anything else. I wouldn't mind someone canceling an auction for no reason, using the clause, once. After this the auctioneer must learn that it's not OK to do it, with or without the clause. So when it happens second time.... is what happened here.

All the more reason to contact the valid bidder(s), explain to them that a circumstance has come about.. post that all bidders have been contacted and okay'd the cancellation out of respect to the auctioneer, lock thread and leave it intact.

The only reason we know that Fattcatt included that clause was because of a phone camera snapshot.. Fattcatt effectively removed the necessary information that would have made this "technically okay" from a passerby's perspective.
But now looking at anonymousminer's trust page I can see that he should not be trusted (sarcasm) and I can no longer believe that the snapshot was not edited to include that clause.
578  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WANT TO FIND] Missing Fattcatt Auction PICS INSIDE HAVE A LOOK on: April 09, 2019, 08:03:32 PM
To be fair, his second auction (the one in OP pic) does state that he reserves the right to cancel the auction at any time for any reason.
A logical explanation as to why they were cancelling the auction would have been enough to calm everybody watching this trainwreck. "for any reason" just doesn't cut it.

The cockiness after cancelling the auction is just adding fuel to the flames. Aswell, who are we in the Collectibles forum to lock and move our topics into boards that others may frequent, effectively cluttering their board. Have some respect.

I would like to propose an unofficial rule here that a cancelled auction require all bidders to be contacted beforehand and thought process given to them. The "I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time for no reason whatsoever" does not belong here. In the future if you include this in your list of auction rules, just click the little x in the top right of your browser before you hit "post".
Save yourself the time and just don't start an auction or a sale if you can not follow through with it.
579  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] First ever ATOM Minted Coin Auctioned - Cosmos Network on: April 09, 2019, 04:36:18 PM
@enesimo  Not sure if I won the auction or not, please advise.  I thought the countdown clock had 3 hours left when I checked it and made my last post, but it is possible it was counting up, not sure.
From my reply here the countdown hit 0 at 6 hours and 36 minutes ago. Which would have put this bid 3 hours and 40 minutes late.
BTC.047

In the future for OP it is important to put your timezone with an exact date/time of the end of the auction. In your defense you did say you and the coin were in France and it would end at noon on Tuesday. But many people use more common USA timezones due to forum population/more potential bidder activity during the end of an auction.

I believe minerjones is correct.
0.045 BTC

Winner.
The countdown ended 5 hours ago and now it is counting up.
