Tell me first what voltage you are running at and whether the psus are on two different circuits.

Also, what firmware?

Please update all new units to 2.3.30
562  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 04, 2014, 02:48:20 PM
yes, it means that one of your two boards is basically completely disabled. (thats why it says BAD)
Only a total of 6 out of 30 chips are currently being powered properly.

Have you properly connected both PSUs? What voltage are you running at?

It looks to me like the top PSU isnīt providing any power at all.

Are you running on 2.3.30? Have you tried restarting you unit?

I dont know about the noise being lower it sounds like a leafblower , I'm going to need to do some sort of sound proofing or silent cabinet.  Running two would be an insane amount of noise.
It is by no way silent, but one should be able to run it in a cellar with little to no sound-proofing required.

I also saw a community effort for a silent cabinet some months ago, I think by the same guy who built the open graphic card rigs.

It was fairly cheap (compared to the ludicrous amounts some companys charge) and had a very decent sound reduction.

Yes, space in your panel (and therefore moving breakers around) can be an issue, but if you have space for sp30s available and decent power rates, getting some 220-240V circuits installed should be pretty straight-forward.

Hosting at home does help the most with decentralizing the network, but it might prove a little difficult to run more than one sp30 at home (although noise levels are much better than the sp10).

With the colder months approaching (atleast on the northern hemisphere), heat shouldnīt be as much an issue and some fans and an open window can work wonders.

on the first page there is a button "restart cgminer", "restart miner gate", "reboot"...
566  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 02, 2014, 01:36:14 PM
Hello All, what does it mean: "pool data successfully saved but failed to restart miner"?
Exactly that, just restart miner gate and it should work.

Utilizing Antminer S2?

0.8$/GH for 1W/GH hardware is also quite high, especially as AM tubes are available at around 0.7$/GH (including PSU cost), shipped.

Hosting cost of 100$/TH is acceptable, though I wouldnīt neccesarrily run any 1W/GH hardware at such high electricity prices....

The customer also doesnīt own the miner, but it will remain with hashnest once no longer profitable (at ~100$/kW/m).

How is this a bitmain product?
It doesnīt even seem to utilize the bitmain chip, but A1s....

Is it ok to turn fans down from 80% to like 60%
That depends on the intake air temperature. The chips should throttle before any damage can be done though.
I think much of the noise comes from the PSU fans, but I might be mistaken.
570  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 31, 2014, 05:06:20 PM

Could the PSU be swapped out for a 110V with less of a loss than the convertor? 13% is a lot to me. I'm a greedy pet owner.
All PSUs run less efficient at 110V compared to 208V+.

This also means that the same PSU will always produce less maximum 12V current. (which is what your miner needs)
So sadly the answer is no.

You could try and get an electrician to run a 220V line, that should give you the additional hashrate (and a backup 220V line, useable for many other appliances).
571  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMiner Tube Sales Information Thread [Round2] on: August 28, 2014, 03:07:18 PM
So I can run 2 tubes from 1 Ethernet/controller yes?
yes, the question is if you want to, as you have to interconnect the two and always keep them next to each other.

Problem. Miner Dragon A1. In the web panel shows 1200 Gh, and pool 500 Gh.

Help me please !
Make sure that the selected difficulty in the A1 menu is the one provided by the pool.

Lol cheers. Very complicated :-) Waiting for my mienrs to be delivered tomorrow.

Btw, Bitcrane has released water cooled miner. Takes shit loads of power though. About 1W/Gh.

Would it make sense for S-T to apply such cncept for their next generation miners?

Spondoolies manages to cool 3kW in a 2U unit, which is a very good density.

Watercooling adds unneccesarry costs to the cooling setup, making the miner more expensive.

Besides, who needs more density than possible 60kW per rack?

You can get higher density designs by immersion cooling, but that adds around 0.5$/W as one-time facility costs.
(You donīt need to build a datacenter though, but units should be optimised / designed for immersion first)
574  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 28, 2014, 01:18:24 PM
Could someone, please give me a link to SP30 setup guide or alternatively just copy it here for me. Thanks
Plug in power. (make sure you use atleast a 220V socket for optimal performance)
Connect to network.

Go to myminer.io and click on your miner. (From a computer on the same network)

Put in pools via the webui and upgrade the firmware to the latest version.

If there are any more questions just post.

All those getting SP30s from GB contact me if you have issues but before that:

1) Update to latest version - 2.3.27
2) Install team-viewer or open ports for me to access your miner.
3) Contact me to zvisha@spon...

Thanks. Is it safe to start mining after upgrading ? Since you might not be able to log on to the miners immediately ?
It is safe to mine after firmware upgrade.

The instruction is only meant for people running into unusual problems, to provide the most time-efficient support possible.
576  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 28, 2014, 11:26:08 AM
Hm I think the tube might be a good choice if you meet the following parameters:

Power at or below 0.08$/kWh, PSU for the miner at around 60$(breakout board+psu), no additional rent for the used space required (ie the 0.08$/kWh is including rent).

If however difficulty keeps rising rapidly and then slows down a lot, sp31s might be the better deal (and will most definately run for a longer time period, due to lower power consumption).

Tubes might make you a bigger profit than future sp30, you never know. (But most likely not more than a current sp30 at around 0.88$/GH)

They will certainly not run longer though.
577  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 28, 2014, 10:51:03 AM
I'm not talking tracking mate... I haven't even been notified about comp options...

Also they repeatedly stated in this thread that the GB would be shipped this week... Do I need to go back and quote it?

EDIT: Bad typos...
Sorry, I might be a little tired.

I am not quite sure whether spondoolies goes through the offers for compensation on a per customer basis or according to order number.

It basically gives you the option of receiving an 18% cash refund or a 21% voucher, according to your payment amount.

Miners ordered after a certain date get a 25% refund or slighlty higher voucher, afaik. (as the hashrate was then advertised as 6Th)
578  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 28, 2014, 10:42:57 AM
So its 1pm on Thursday in Israel right now and I still haven't even got a email about the compensation options.... Starting to seriously doubt the possibility that they will ship all the GB units by the end of the week...

Prove me wrong Spondoolies ... prove me wrong please  Undecided

I havenīt gotten my tracking email either.

I am quite sure that spondoolies will ship in August though, and if any delays should occur I am also quite certain they will make it right by providing some sort of compensation.

It seems to me that a landlord can decide to whomever he wants to rent HIS building to.

Asicspace didnīt get it, and might now be priced out of the market due to all the increasing competition in hosting.

What I can confirm is that jtoomim has a huge knowledge about miners in general and sp30s/10s specifically.
He also seems to be quite capable of providing a good hosting solution, and that should be all that matters when looking for a hosting provider.
580  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 28, 2014, 06:43:28 AM
There is no announced sp50 (see what your posts are doing to newbies rawdog?)

That user can safely be ignored (he seems to be trolling this thread pretty hard), most of his posts are either FUD or outright lies (or contain completely irrelevant information).

I guess I would find hosting outside the EU, as you would need to pay additional 20% VAT on miners imported into the EU.
