What coin would be mined by those Ethash ASIC when ETH is going to POS? ETC, Music Coin? ATM, Ethash still ASIC resistance till ASIC miner for Ethash really exist. And I believe, GPUs price wouldn't be so easy to drop, at least in the next few months.

Focus on your main problem first, seems you don't have an issue on Ethash, those two cards, do mining with the same Hashrate on Ethash. Did you try my suggestion above?

AMD, especially Polaris family more tweaker-friendly. If you believe in him, just pay him and start mining with those cards. Don't waste your time. You get a low price. I can say for sure, you will not get at that price, in another place, ATM.

Better to do a stress test with those cards, before you pay him, just to make sure that those cards are still worthless. You can use FurMark for a stress test. Since the seller lives near you, it will more easily. You can do a stress test in the seller place or yours.

Mod those card with those original bios as a source. Even with the same series and brand, it's not recommended for safety. Just use original bios as a source.

Basically, solo mining addressed to QT Wallet coins. So you don't need own pool for solo mining. I'm doing the same with you using MPOS before, but I didn't use my physical Rig for solo mining, that's why I need to build mining pool. Renting Hashrate from Nicehash and Westhash at that time.

The most important thing, solo mining with popular coins same as a lottery. You must calculate Global Hashrate, Difficulty, Block Time, Block Reward, etc. Newly coins with low difficulty and low Network Hashrate seems good for solo mining.

I have the same problem before with my R9 290. Tried with all my PCIe 1x to 16x riser and nothing. Finally decided with 16x to 16x riser and it's solving my problem.  Those kinds of riser don't have a long enough size. But it's no big deal, at least I did not mounting my card straight to the mobo because it will get in the way other Riser to mounted.

Try to give those "lower Hashrate" card a dummy output. In most AMD card, dropping Hashrate is one of a regular issue.
Or may you need to test it first to disable one by one? Try the first card and disable the second card and so on. Just to make sure.

For safer calculation use TDP, and remember TDP is the maximum power consumed by your cards under regular use. And how about mining process? that is not a regular use. Agree?

Some miner claiming that calculating using TDP is overkill, this is mining and your devices will run 24/7. And I will say for sure, with a stress test such as FurMark your card would consume power more than TDP.

GTX 1070 has TDP 150Watt (you can calculate by your self with the number of your card plus another part). And give them power spare.


If one PSU can handle (enough power and cable connector) all of your devices, use only one PSU. Two or three PSU it's okay.

Server PSUs would be great if you can get it with cheap price (more durable).


Yes, would be better using SSD, fast booting, fast installing and many more.

Yep, I turn it on manually. My second and third PSU always turn on except when I'm doing troubleshoot. Jump-start technic was working well for me, and it's free. If you can reach your rig physically, jump-start would save your cost.

I also use 3 PSU on my R9 Rig (Power Hungry Rig), second and third using jumpstart (paperclip). use this scheme, use the same source PSU to powering cards and riser. Make sure second and third PSU has been turn on before primary PSU (that connected to mobo).
Sometimes we need 5V dummy load to make sure that PSU produce the right 12V.

First, you post in the wrong section, this is Altcoins section, and you need to post in Bitcoin section.

Second, don't ever use GPU let alone CPU to mine Bitcoin, you will get nothing except you have free electricity and Internet access then you will generate a coin that just enough to buy candy. But will be better (more and more) to use your CPU on CPU-based coins and GPU on GPU-based coins.

Third, use ASIC miner to mine Bitcoin.

What you watch in the video may do dual-mining or showing you to add a backup pool, what mining software that used in that video? basically, you only need one wallet address as receiving address when the pool (if you do pooled mining) sends your mining results.
