If you want to have some fun with the concept of what will happen after a nuclear war watch "The Divide" and see how that makes you feel about the fate humanity after a war.

Pointing out to a Hollywood film to show what will happen to the world after a nuclear war goes off just seems incredibly silly, every idea you introduce for a film is heavily Hollywoodized, people don't seem to realize that.

There will be women selling their bodies for food, rape, murders, mass slaughter for food/money/weapons, the currency of choice would probably be small (ideally .22) caliber bullets, store owners that have food will probably try to keep everything to themselves and/or trade it in exchange for weapons and other valuable goods, the ruthlessness of that world is unimaginable to anyone in this thread.

Bitcoin will certainly be long gone, I doubt you would even have mail to purchase goods with it.

I am wondering where all the Bitcoin millionaires (even semi-millionaires or hundred thousandaires) are. Let's get a group of like 5-10 people, and make a Jersey Shore type series for the BTC community. Start on YouTube and maybe get picked up by some random network.

Throw down together to rent an amazing house at a price that is pretty cheap each. Then basically everyone try to have as much fun as they can while living there, and cameras follow everyone around.

I'll hold the first camera and publish/edit everything. I already make videos, and I'm getting a new computer thanks to Devcoin, so I can edit and everything soon Smiley


Why not BTC entourage entourage, where we are all libertarian-anarchistic Hollywood stars except that we use BTC strictly, I'll be Vince?

I guess we should add this on the list to watch next to the first Bitcoin terrorist attack and the first Bitcoin kidnapping where the kidnappers demand BTC for ransom.

I can tell you that I was attacked by a DDoS once and the attacker demanded ransom in BTC to stop the attack which I found quite revolutionary.

The public key of the BTC is printed on the note so the public could see that there is certain value in this note. The public also believe that with such good reputation the company won't take the bitcoin and run away. Also the company promises to pay the note-owner the bitcoin once requested.

This looks like a monetary system on gold standard. But I think it may be a way to facility payments in some certain circumstances.

China can produce fake USD bills that are of superior quality to the originals, makes you realize that they would fake your BTC bills to the extent that you wouldn't even be able to pay out 0.005 per bill and get in a similar situation like Zimbabwe.

You don't have 80 thousand brutes to protect your interests like the government has.

Maybe they could print some kind of secret code on each bitcoin note?  Some kind of cryptographic key, but you know, one that should be kept private.  Revealing the key would be needed to "redeem" the note.  That could possibly stop counterfeiting.

If only there was a decentralized computer network to verify these codes?  I think we may be onto something here, people!


Then it would be reduced to stealing the Bitcoins right under the notes owners nose.

I wouldn't play poker for Bitcoin or online at all to be honest, every game could potentially be rigged, of course why would a multi-million online casino cheat in a 50 dollar poker game? The potential is low but we haven't seen online casinos that are this popular in BTC.

In the future we might introduce live poker, we certainly have the power to get it, then it would be a matter of encrypting the stream properly in a secure manner which might prove to be challenging, a high buy-in at the table will also be one of the cons.

I doubt that a notable person endorsing BTC would be beneficial to his career or even long term employment. Watch The Union, replace marijuana with Bitcoins and/or monetary system whereas appropriate and you get the current situation.

The point is that there are people who hold power and the benefit of the public of even humanity long term isn't in their best interest, sustaining their power is higher up the priority list.

I gotta say though there are like NO players at the table that ever bet black/red, Even/odd or the 1-18/19-36. Theyre always betting individual numbers...I'm only 19 and never have been to a casino but it makes me wonder if people at casinos here don't usually bet the 50/50 ones in roulette as well.

Did you see this thread.  It's about how Bitcoin gamblers play differently than "real" gamblers, and might be related to your point.

I guess more Bitcoin users play to win rather than play for entertainment without giving it thought, winning a bet on black and doubling up your funds doesn't seem that hard. I also don't appreciate the link, wouldn't want to turn it into a discussion as it is simply my personal opinion rather than of the company I work for but the individual who has started that thread is nothing less than a thieving liar and I would avoid bumping his threads or giving him attention.

I would happily participate in that discussion if it was started by say, Erik Voorhees, or anyone else who is at least half credible in my books.

You can acquire the "out" transaction in history, I can assure you it is bound to appear and confirm, we have been paying out for some time.

And I meant people playing at that casino where the live feed is being played, I know what the bets look like for bitcoin users and many people are always playing black or red for people betiting with bitcoin. I was saying that the people betting with real cash and chips at this casino where the live feed is, only once have I seen a 50/50 wager placed. Those people betting real cash love straight wagering on individual numbers for whatever reason.

Ohhh alright, I guess the bets of the cryptographically enlightened average member of BitcoinTalk are quite different than the average Joe.

Thats what I see as well but if you watch the live feed, actual people playing live, I've only seen 1 50/50 wager. They're always loading up on like 5 or 6 different numbers each game. I've wondered why that is.

If for example the bet is RB(2,4,6,8,10,11,13,15,17,20,22,24,26,28,29,31,33,35) it appears something like RB(2...35), RB means Red/Black, 2...35 means Black in this case.

Straight bets appear as a single number e.g. "24".
