581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Questions (and concerns) about BTC on: November 29, 2013, 10:18:07 PM
The last year is ~2140, you won't live to see that day, don't worry about it.

Actually the year will be much sooner with the rapid increase in mining power. Also 99% of the coins will be mined much sooner than 2030.
582  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin not appeared in my wallet. advice pls? on: November 29, 2013, 10:13:05 PM
Should I send a screenshot of these pages, or is that unsafe.
Sorry for more questions.

Thanks for bearing with me. I hate not knowing what I am doing.

You can post here your address and/or the transaction id so we can check. It's safe noone can have access to your coins with those informations.

What is that software you used?

It's not a software. It's a website bitcoinwisdom.com
584  Economy / Gambling / Re: A puzzle on: November 29, 2013, 09:55:10 PM

If you expose the private key, is it possible that somebody Brute-Force the adress?
That is in fact possible. Everyone who has technical know-how and good hardware can possibly crack the key. Like mining.
But you should not ignore, cracking takes time. And up to that point, the puzzle could be solved.

If you expose the private key, there is nothing to be brute-forced.

I think he means partially expose it. I 'm not sure though. Is he going to reveal a part of the private key for every correct answer?  Lips sealed
585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you do "when" bitcoin hits 10,000......... on: November 29, 2013, 09:48:31 PM
we will not hit 10k after we have some nice crashes and alot of tears Cry  i guess  Wink

but what will we do then? wait for 20k.

If we ever hit 10k bitcoin is going to be constantly in the headlines of every news paper / site / everything.
I think it we 'll be 10k - 100k in 1 month or something.
586  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Public key + private key on: November 29, 2013, 09:43:33 PM
Although litecoin addresses are generated with the same way they have a different version number and so they start with an "L"

So if i may ask. Is this a crash or a correction?  Tongue Embarrassed
588  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL has Black Friday SALE!!! Be careful on: November 29, 2013, 09:36:41 PM
25% discount.  Hefty.  I've purchased from BFL before and did eventually get ROI on my order so I can't really complain about them (apart from the many months of anguish at delay after delay).

What do you mean you made ROI? You made more bitcoins than if you have bought bitcoins instead of a miner at the time of your purchase?'
Let me guess. Not by a mile  Tongue
589  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you believe in cryptocurrency competition? on: November 29, 2013, 09:29:53 PM
I see a lot of people here wishing Litecoin would just go away; why? I thought libertarians believed in free markets and competition? Litecoin is really surging right now, and if it ends up overtaking Bitcoin, what's the problem? Bitcoin was the first attempt at a cryptocurrency, and it is rare for first attempts to succeed. Maybe the future belongs to Litecoin, and Bitcoin will simply be remembered as  a beta test.

Actually litecoin is crashing hard now. Lost half its value already.
Besides that bitcoin and libertarians are two things that are not even remotely connected.
I don't know about the early stages but today there are 2 types of people into bitcoin.
Speculators and speculators.
590  Economy / Securities / Re: [Mpex.co] The biggest scam in bitcoin history? on: November 29, 2013, 09:27:01 PM
Which is why MPEx is valued at about 5% of all Bitcoin and JPM at about 0.0x% of all fiat.

Sorry for asking but that guy compares MPEx (whatever that is) with JP Morgan? Is he for real or just kidding?
I stopped reading after that so i can't really tell.
591  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: So , why did you join bitcointalk? on: November 29, 2013, 09:14:05 PM
Because bitcointalk is the most important thing for bitcoin, second only to btc-e's trollbox  Grin Grin
592  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin is ultimately doomed to fail (not today or tomorrow) on: November 29, 2013, 08:56:29 PM
I will probably deposit Bitcoins in a Bitcoin backed bank to receive bank script to use instead.  Will some people?  Maybe (if they are stupid).  Will it hurt me?  No because they no me will suffer the inflation and when those banks inevitably fail all that inflated money will cease to exist.

Yes, and just after those banks inevitably fail because of inflating their moneys, here comes the evil Central Bank, monopolizing the emission of Bitcoin based currency and welcome, the new Bitcoin standard and new Great Depression ahead! So we once again get into that dreadful spiral of history...

There is already a currency that is issued by central banks. What new the bitcoin based currency will bring to the table? I don't get it.
593  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help! A payment is not processing on the network! Have I lost that money? on: November 29, 2013, 08:51:42 PM
You have to wait.
Transactions are not instant.

Transactions are instant. Confirmations aren't  Tongue
If the transaction wasn't sent with a miner's fee, it'll take a really long time for it to be added to a block.

To be added to a block. Not to be relayed + show up in the wallet. The second is instant.

595  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.4BTC/month just by posting! on: November 29, 2013, 06:39:36 PM
Hello, i 'm in for the 3rd time  Cool

Current post count : 367  Kiss
596  Economy / Services / Re: Earn upto 0.6 BTC per month for your signature! on: November 25, 2013, 03:02:55 PM
This promote provides more competitive payments over Prime Dice only if you make more than 500 posts/month!

I really hope that OP wants to create a nice business and that he is legit and all, but imo it's not worth the risk.

If he can provide better payments for the low post counts, to compensate for the risk i 'll consider it.

And by better i mean something like:
50-100:    0.03 BTC 0.04 BTC
101-250:   0.06 BTC 0.08 BTC
251-500:   0.12 BTC 0.15 BTC

What do you think bitsplay.ga?
I think you should read the OP again

What do you mean?

You guys really are nuts aren't you?

We already have something that works much better, assuming privacy is not a concern

Also it seems that you are focusing on anonymity and ignoring the decentralization factor in bitcoin.
599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Think Litecoin will see the same growth as Bitcoin? on: November 16, 2013, 09:16:14 PM
If it breaks $4,50 its going to hit $10 very fast....

This is a valid argument in btc-e trollbox  Wink
600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the point, really... on: November 16, 2013, 09:04:28 PM
What some people don't seems to understand, and Mike Hearn in particular, is that both the bitcoin protocol, and the bitcoin clients, is technically a huge piece of crap.

People are using it because it works.
