581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: April 02, 2016, 10:46:23 AM
Gambling can be addictive to some people who have a tendency to pick up habits easily like smoking drinking etc. while others do it just for fun. If you feel you have problems with gambling it's best to seek immediate help and ban yourself from accessing your online gambling sites accounts.
Compulsive gambling can be really destructive if no precaution is taken to alleviate the issue immediately.
582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you honestly think Bitcoin toys would help us?! on: April 02, 2016, 09:16:53 AM
At what age kids are allowed to manage their own finances? I don't remember when I got my first debit card I think I was maybe 13-14 years old. Bitcoin itself is digital money so parents have to educate their kids how to be their own bank and maintain their own budget. What toys would appeal to older children though? I don't think plush toys or constructor sets would be ideal for them.
583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a good idea to store paper wallet digitally? on: April 02, 2016, 09:09:31 AM
You could save the pdf file on a cheap USB stick or onto a microSD for safe keeping. Why would you want to save it to your Windows system and bother to encrypt/decrypt it all the time. Yes I think bitaddress.org wallet generation is completely random. Also there are special features within Bitcoin wallets that allow you to spend from Cold Storage. If you explicitly run that option the change will be returned to the original address so your remaining coins won't be lost after completing the transaction.
584  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Russia Finance Ministry wants ban Bitcoin... on: April 02, 2016, 06:15:55 AM
I am strongly against banning Bitcoin in any country because we are living in a free world and there shouldn't be a restriction on what we would like to do with our money. Why couldn't Russia just legalize Bitcoin is beyond me. They will still have control over what their citizens would do with Bitcoin and pay taxes on the exchanges.
585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: (POLL) Which wallet do you think is best with the best features? on: April 02, 2016, 06:09:07 AM
I registered a GreenAddress account yesterday and I am really liking it so far. The best features to me are the option for a quick login from any device with a PIN number if you are in a hurry and the possibility to access your funds elsewhere if GreenAddress service happens to be offline at the moment. So my vote goes to GreenAddress.
586  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to manage money? on: April 02, 2016, 05:36:21 AM
My tips for managing money is to pay with a debit card instead of a credit card and to use a budget app on your phone or PC to help you track your expenses and what part of your salary goes to paying off which bill  or for entertainment, groceries etc. It's a convenient way of knowing exactly how much money you will be left with at the end of the month. Also it's better to keep a secret fund for rainy days because there will always be emergency situations and you won't need to take out loans to cover such unexpected expenses in a hurry.
587  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase Asks Users for LinkedIn Info on: April 02, 2016, 05:28:24 AM
Well it looks like Coinbase are on a roll to get as much personal information as possible from their userbase. Isn't Coinbase the most popular wallet in the USA though? What are the alternatives if people are not satisfied with their policy? I have heard about Circle being mentioned a couple of times. Does anyone have any experience with them? I don't think Coinbase are that good as not to have an alternative to them.
588  Economy / Services / Re: I need someone to pay $10 with paypal. 14$ in bitcoins in return on: April 01, 2016, 12:37:32 PM
Hey mate you could exchange your bitcoins at Coinimal and get money into your Paypal balance for minutes. The fees are not high at all and you won't need to worry about getting scammed. It's always better to do it yourself than to rely on other people to do the job for you. Plus it will be cheaper than that $14 you are offering.
589  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think uᴉoɔʇᴉq will reach it's $1000 mark again? on: April 01, 2016, 12:06:49 PM
A moderate pump can push the price over the $1000 mark again easily but I am expecting this threshold to be reached in a stable fashion next year. This year there is so much speculation going on with the halving event and the blocksize debate that I am not sure we will reach it till Xmas.
590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how to exchange my Epay balance to uᴉoɔʇᴉq? on: April 01, 2016, 11:56:20 AM
What was really weird that all the words "uᴉoɔʇᴉq" has been written upside down as "uᴉoɔʇᴉq", so cue

Mate today is the 1st of April and people around the world celebrate April Fool's day and like to prank each other the whole day so that explains the upside down letters and crazy word substitutions  Grin Tomorrow everything will probably be back to normal so don't worry there is nothing wrong with your computer or something.
591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you were rich, would you still gamble? on: April 01, 2016, 11:23:09 AM
If I were rich I would still gamble if that is what I like to do in my free time and it feels enjoyable to me. I would be betting more money per game obviously but I won't be chasing losses hard like now because I would be already rich and wouldn't care about negative profit and bankroll management Cheesy
592  Economy / Economics / Re: Government & uᴉoɔʇᴉq on: April 01, 2016, 10:52:34 AM
I think there are 3 ways the government can deal with Bitcoin. The 1st way is that they could legalize it and the exchanges would need to buy licenses. The 2nd way is they would just not deal with it and let it run without control (like it's now for most of the countries). And the 3rd way is to ban it outright (like in Russia). I would prefer the 2nd and then the 1st one  Wink
593  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump is going to build a huge wall around The Bitcoin_Network!! on: April 01, 2016, 10:45:21 AM
If Trump was the president of my country I would be very concerned about the future diplomatic relations with trading partners and neighboring countries  Grin Trump will follow the Chinese example and build the Great Wall of Bitcoin to protect the USA from external bad influence  Roll Eyes
594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what happens to uᴉoɔʇᴉq if internet goes down? on: April 01, 2016, 10:33:39 AM
If internet goes down BiTcoin will simply replace it. Don't you know that Blockchain is operating independently and you can just connect your computer to it and use it however you like, you can even gamble and watch movies using Blockchain as your primary browser.

Mate if the Internet goes down the Blockchain will go down with it because no one would be able to broadcast their transactions over the Internet and no one will get any confirmations because no node would be able to see it. I don't understand what you meant by using Blockchain as a primary browser at all  Shocked Huh

Is this an April Fool's joke?  Grin
595  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst mistake you did with uᴉoɔʇᴉq? on: April 01, 2016, 05:31:42 AM
My biggest mistake I did with Bitcoin is that I was too skeptic at first that I didn't want to get involved with the crypto sooner and missed on the big profit margins in 2013. But I still believe we are early adopters and Bitcoin hasn't hit the mainstream market yet so there is still a chance to get something nice going for the future.
596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can this be considered a Safest Cold Storage? on: April 01, 2016, 05:18:12 AM
Guys what do you think about the dedicated Bitcoin hardware wallets like Trezor and Ledger? Are they worth the investment and is their security really that much higher than using an offline PC to act as a cold storage? Or there is no difference security-wise? Not that I have a big stash of coins to warrant such a wallet I am just curious to know thank you.
597  Economy / Speculation / Re: China will destroy uᴉoɔʇᴉq on: April 01, 2016, 05:08:02 AM
How do you make upside down words?

Happy April Fools' Day mate  Grin

And on the topic - China does hold the most of the mining power but if they don't want to update to the new protocol why should the rest of the world be hindered? Can't we just ignore them altogether and continue the mining operations elsewhere. China is just one country it can't be that hard can it?
598  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining coins save or sell it? on: April 01, 2016, 04:52:34 AM
I have a friend of mine who does alt coin mining and he sells a portion of his mined coins every month to pay his bills and the rest goes into his stash. He also has a full-time job and this mining gig is just a second stream of income for him. I think it purely depends on your financial situation should you sell or keep the coins.
599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: April 01, 2016, 04:38:10 AM
The Western Union fees for sending money overseas below $1000 are really bad and below $50 are just horrendous lol it's like a $8 fee for a $50 transaction where I live. Bitcoin transaction fees structure completely outperforms WU and another big plus is that you don't need to go to an office to collect your cash.
600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upcoming Exciting Events for uᴉoɔʇᴉq on: April 01, 2016, 04:25:47 AM
This Joystream project sounds very promising if you really can get rewards for uploading your stuff. Has anyone used the program and have you been paid? I can't understand from their website if it's still in development or it's the final version of the product. My only concern is whether or not this BitTorrent client will have access to all the trackers or it will be a closed system.
