Hey Guys, New to the community here, two quick questions:
1. Is there a SECURE paper wallet generator for main net (or will there be?). 2. Besides the seed, what else do you need to back up to create a back up? And how/where do you do it?
Thank you, Pablo.
There is no paper wallet generator yet. The seed is not enough because blackbytes are stored only on your devices, not in the public database. For both backup and security, set up multisig wallet with redundancy, 2-of-3 is best if you have 3 devices on platforms that we support.

How to extract privkey? Why did I get more than twice blackbytes than bytes?
Private keys are derived from seed that you find in the wallet settings. Total supply of blackbytes is 2.1111 times larger than that of bytes.

how is the approval of the iOS wallet going? any news?
We need to be better known (at least) to get approval. Will try again after the launch.

Looks like you see more complexity than there is You don't have to mess with private keys. You can delete byteball-test but you don't have to, because the two wallets live in different folders and don't know anything about each other. Sorry, I didn't mention that I want to have 2 separate instances, of course on of them is on VM. And I want to know more methods to achieve that. If one of them is on VM, you install one instance on host OS and one instance on guest OS.

I got old test bytebal working, and another "t" which I linked TBTC balance. I want to install new 0.7.0t on old testnet first. Where is data directory, where is wallet? I want to replace it with new tesnet data to see balance. There is no readme in linux64 version. What hapens if I replace all files in new testnet? I'm affraid I loose linked balance.
The data directory is ~/.config/byteball-tn (~/.config/byteball-test for old testnet), but you don't have to mess with data files, just unzip 0.7.0t into the same directory where you had 0.6.0t. Thanks, I knew that, the problem was with my old not "t" second instance. I understand that this time I should remove /byteball-test, and take i that place coresponding "t" data folder. But what about wallet, or rather wallets, one for byteball and second for blackbytes? How to extract privkey? Why did I get more than twice blackbytes than bytes? How large will the window be to link mainnet addresses? Wanted to get some bytes when it launches, but don't want to forget or end up missing it for some stupid reason. You said early December. How early?
In a few days, Monday or Tuesday. so you will provide a new client? or the one we current using will be converted automatically to run main-net? Also when you say old testnet is discontinued, so do I just delete the client, or I keep it for the future livenet? I'll provide a new client for mainnet. Regarding old testnet client, you can delete it.

For those who linked their Bitcoin balances, I'll run the distribution script soon, and you'll receive your share of bytes and blackbytes.
The distribution is finished. Please check the amounts received. Working perfectly. I received 9,480,337,451,504 bytes. There is not a decimal problem? There is no decimal point. Bytes are like satoshis.

will u provide a overview of registered BTC on mainnet so we can estimate sharesize basically the question is will the BTC addresses and balances are public visible in claiming process
this is the only way they spread of coins can be judged by community as legit
if no one see anything how someone should be able to state yes the coins where spread fair
i think we are in the blockchainbusiness because trustless solutions attract us
so set this up trustless in a way anyone can verify coins where spread fair between registered btc addresses
Yes, of course, it'll be publicly visible and updated in real time.

What is the differences between a full client and light client? As I understand it, the full client will download and sync the full DAGs, and is autonomous. But what about light client? is it solely rely on a server (say at byteball.org) for balance/send/receive, or is it download also the last part of DAG, and operate from there?
Light clients download and verify a subset of the DAG that contains the transactions involving the client's addresses. So does this mean that light client collects only those disjointed DAGs that has this wallet address transaction? The bitcoin etc light wallet I think collects last 500 blocks, and keep track of unspent coins in that wallet. Not sure if we use the similar mechanism here. Yes, those disjointed transactions. There are lots of differences with bitcoin light wallets because both database structure and consensus algorithms are different.

|
Why is the testnet client so long to sync ?!
It is slow indeed, the next release will be much faster. If you build from sources, you'll get all the speed improvements already now.

Today I builded byteball from source on an ubuntu 64 bit virtualbox guest (clear internet) using node.js 64 bit and NW.js 64 bit. The host was the same (a good desktop with good internet). It synchronized to completion in 1 h 45 min and byteball.sqlite ended with 522 Mb.
Yesterday on the same host and whonix 32 bit virtualbox guest (presumably throw TOR) it was 2 h to completion and and byteball.sqlite ended with 518 Mb.
Looks great work. So byteball can communicate with TOR network I guess. Do you still need to create some .onion hosts so that it can distribute things and have all default witness etc, so it can completely run inside TOR? Yes, it's great news. Running .onion hosts is not required. If you are a merchant (such as a pizza bot https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1608859.msg16330266#msg16330266) and want to hide your IP, you just connect to the hub through TOR. Your clients don't have to mess with TOR at all, they connect to the hub via clear internet (all chats are end-to-end encrypted).
