581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sad reality: some countries gamble more than they can afford on: November 11, 2023, 12:54:53 AM
But governments sure as hell are there to profit whenever a gambler wins anything, heavily taxing big winnings... What makes me even angrier is that these licensed casinos do very little to offer gamblers resources to play responsibly, and do nothing to educate gamblers about house edge. Also, none of their games run on provably fair algorithms. And yet the government does very little to regulate them after having sold them a license...

Are you talking about the gambling casinos within Greece that are not provably fair ?  I think most people will prefer to play & gamble online at trusted casinos that are provably fair. Yes, the losing ratio is on these casinos is still high but if anyone is playing at a local casino that is not provably fair, then for sure he is wasting his money on that casino.

And Greece isn't a rich country by any means. Many families are facing hardship, unemployment is high, youth emigration is rising etc... Things don't look particularly good for the economy in general.

What do you think about this issue where people gamble too much in countries where the vast majority of the population isn't well off? Should governments step in and restrict casinos more perhaps?

Well, even if Greece is not a rich country, still its the people choice to try their luck in Gambling. As you mentioned the unemployment rate is high in Greece, so people try to find a living out of gambling. The government, instead of thinking of putting a ban on casinos, why not first create opportunities for their youth so that they can earn? Once the jobs are created, many people will quit gambling automatically whose purpose is to earn money from gambling.

Putting a ban on gambling in such a situation is not a solution. Better try to improve the living facilities and provide jobs to the individuals and then expect them to leave gambling.
582  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: November 10, 2023, 07:34:46 PM
This shady site is also getting published on various micro-tasking sites these days. Probably it is a new site and they are going all in with their marketing budget.
A lot of people may fall in the trap of this kind of software who are new to crypto. The website is asking the user to download a software or extension to start the process. Maybe the software will take the access of the user account as the website says that the bot will connect to the users automatically without the need of login. There are two risks of using such system, either the software will take the access of your account, otherwise your account will be banned by the Freebitco anti-fraud system for using such services.

Well, in a real website, there is a login screen but in this fake site, we only see a download button, no login dialog box. Secondly the scam site design is quite different form the real freebitco site. These things can easiy be spotted and hence i think no one should fall for this scam.
I do not who will be too lazy to click on download when he is already know that freebitco does not have a download button. Look like only the one who are new may get scammed, the old freebitco users can easily identify this site to a be different one.
583  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw on: November 10, 2023, 07:13:48 PM
Now, if you play in a crypto casino where there is no KYC, now your game is always overshadowed by the thought that if you win and want to receive this won cryptocurrency to your wallet, then you may be required to undergo verification using the KYC procedure.  Well, answer honestly, why the hell do you need this?  But you don’t need this extra process at all!  Is it true?

In general, the conclusion is: the introduction of KYC in crypto-payments has ruined the entire crypto-casino business and made life more difficult for players.  And this procedure for crypto-payment should be cancelled.  This is of course difficult to do.  To do this, there must be a separate and bold jurisdiction that does not care what the bankers come up with and that would provide crypto casinos with the appropriate “No KYC” licenses.

Your arguments seem valid but the problem is that we are in a world where these logic are not taken care of and no one is thinking on these terms of NO KYC casinos.
No matter if the crypto payments linked with the KYC have ruined the decentralized purpose to quite an extent but i do not see this discontinuing unless the decentralized platforms take over the centralized authorities.

The non-KYC casino are playing with the gamblers in two ways, first, they attract the gamblers to use their platform which is advertised to be a non-casino one and then if the players win something and try to withdraw, they scam them but not approving their KYCs.
584  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk was down on: November 10, 2023, 07:53:18 AM
This topic of Bitcointalk is/was down sometimes scares me, would really like to know if this is just a minor technically issue that users shouldn't be scared of and is like a normal thing that happens each year, I don't get it? But why?

Once again the bitcointalk was down today and this outage was for a long time. I do not know exactly but when I tried to reach bitcointalk it did not open and then I tried after half an hour it still failed to load.
Just checked now and we are back up again.

I hope there was nothing to worry about  Huh

Royse777 can you answer our questions or someone from BitUbet team will do it?
I visited website and I saw that design is almost identical with Rollbit casino, so s there any connection between this casinos or not?
This is best seen after opening sports page on both websites.

I don't know but maybe it's just me, but I don't see any similarity on my end?

I am just putting the images of the homepage of both sites side by side to compare.

I feel like BitUbet interface is more like Stake.com, the Casino and Sports menu right on the top left.

586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Mixing USDT on: November 09, 2023, 11:56:08 PM
Well, we have enough information on this forum on how to mix the bitcoins and there are many good mixers also available / advertising on the forum.

USDT is the most widely used stablecoin but I never heard if anyone needed to mix the USDT to stop its traces and i never come across any service/ways to mix the USDT.

Any suggestions on USDT mixing are appreciated here. Looking for direct USDT mixing, i know converting to XMR and back will serve the purpose.
587  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 BitUbet.com | Premier Crypto Gaming Experience | Slots, Sports, & More 🎰 on: November 09, 2023, 07:12:40 PM
I warmly welcome BitUbEt on our forum and I hope that soon they will launch their signature campaign in order to get exposure on this forum. Their site seems good to me and with some promotion they will get some good players on their platform.
Also, Royse publishing the official announcement does not mean that he will run a signature campaign. No one knows about the platform’s promotional plans, especially with the absence of an official representative who can answer these questions. The announcement was not designed by Royse, and he indicated that he was only asked to publish it.
Overall, I think it's good that they chose Royse to help promote here on the forum. I think this is the best thing any platform can do, especially in the beginning stage.

Well, i won't agree that this platform BitUbet will not run a signature campaign. I think since Royse777 is in contact with them and helped to publish the ANN on their behalf, i think he will be able convince them the benefits of running a long term signature campaign and most probably if they do, they will give Royse777 this responsibility.

To be honest, the new gambling sites need not only need to be good within themselves, but they need to market themselves so that gamblers get to know about them and play at those sites. Signature Campaigns at this forum are the best medium to promote the sites provided Bitubet has sufficient budget for this purpose.
588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling or gaming sites on: November 09, 2023, 06:57:44 PM
So what is the conclusion ? Are these the gaming site or the gambling site?

You can find some more information on their main page.  https://orionstarsonline.com/
Maybe then you will be able to understand more about it  Huh Huh

Quote
Orion Stars puts the latest online sweepstakes slots & fish games in the palm of your hand with our free sweepstakes & fish gaming app. Our goal is to allow gamers like you to play reels, fish hunter games, sweeps, keno reels, and other bonus spin games whenever you like. Now, you can play our online sweepstakes slots and online sweepstakes fish games anytime, anywhere, and any place.

By looking at the game's names plus the site banner, it is a no brainer that these games are in fact gambling games and not necessarily the Arcade or action games etc, I checked this site and try to make an account there too but could not find how to make an account or where to get the coins to play the games  Huh

I guess, they have distributors who will give you the game login and the coins, and you cannot deposit directly into the sites. Also, when you need to spend money to play the game, the game depends upon luck, then it is gambling. That is how i see this.
589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some things you should always avoid while gambling ? on: November 08, 2023, 07:02:17 PM
Avoid on chasing losses, this had been the most common issue on why gamblers do really end up on a disaster.
That is one of the most common mistakes most gamblers make. They chase losses. One after one, they keep on losing, hoping to recover the lost amount. But in the end, they end up losing everything. Those who do this should always remember that gambling is designed like that. There will be losses and wins. You can not always expect to win. That is why you shouldn't always chase the rabbit. Sometimes you have to think straight. Take a break and try again later, but don't try to recover a lost bet with multiple bets.

The gamblers need to correct their concepts first. The money that is lost in gambling should be treated as a loss and it should not be looked as in the sense that we need to recover the loss. No, it is not like that. A lost money in gambling should be written off as a loss in the gambler's book.

Gambling is a game of luck, where win and loss both will happen, and we should expect our losses with an open heart. If anyone thinks that he should not face a loss in gambling, he/she should not gamble, or the gambling is not the game meant for them. In theory and practical it is not even possible that the gamblers may never lose.
If there is anyone who never loses is the Gambling houses themselves who are running this business.
590  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Unstoppable wallet {User experiences} on: November 08, 2023, 05:17:17 AM
I also upgraded my wallet to the latest 0.36 version. Good to see that this time they have focused more on security upgrades which include Auto Lock, Random Numpad and Duress mode.

For whom do we need the fake wallet? You mean that  we will enter the fake wallet password in front of our friend and then show him that we have only few coins while our real assets are stored with other password.

This is exactly what is the purpose of this and also it is explained in the update. If you are ever forced into an unfortunate situation where someone forces you to open up the wallet (at a gunpoint or something), you can open it with the wallet password which has a few amount of coins and this way your main wallet will remain safe.
591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: November 06, 2023, 01:03:35 PM
There are also gambling websites that provide RTP which is basically a percentage of being good or bad from one game. In my opinion, it has absolutely no effect, it is just a gimic made by the bookie or gambling company to attract players, by giving a large percentage on games that are currently busy in online gambling, so they believe they can get a win in games that have a high percentage. But there are still people who believe in the RTP, they don't realize it's just a gimic made to attract more attention.

RTP is calculated over an unknown period of time for us as a players, it can be short or long period. RTP can be said to be an average, for every $100 wagered, there is a possibility that the provider/game will return $95 to the player. However, this does not mean and is not a guarantee that each player will receive exactly 95% of his bet, it could be less than that and it could be not at all. However RTP is a theoretical value, and you are right about other factors such as luck, volatility and individual gaming strategy can greatly influence a player's short term results.

Well the RTP is nothing just a theoretical calculation as to how much money would be returned to gamblers on the amount which he wagered. The amount shown in RTP usually would never be returned back to the gamblers as gamblers usually lose more and win less.

Just like the House Edge protects the casino interest, the RTP protects the gambler's interest but I am afraid that there are only theoretical terms. Gamblers usually lose way more and I don't think any gambler would be looking at RTP , it all depends upon the luck and house edge just kills the luck for the gambler.

You can read more about RTP here,

What Is RTP In An Online Casino? How Return To Player (RTP) Value Works
Quote
An RTP in gambling is an acronym referring to “return to player”, meaning the expected payout amount of a player’s wagers over time. It’s sometimes also known as “percent return to player” because it’s usually quantified as the percentage of monetary winnings that a specific game returns to the player.
592  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: bitcoin wallet on: November 06, 2023, 12:31:47 PM
You are right. This reason made me say that storing large amounts of bitcoin assets in a wallet like Bluwallet and a number of other wallet choices that have a good reputation are a problem that must be carefully thought out.
Because OP said that he could not operate a PC smoothly only able to use the smartphone well, the attention of the vulnerability of the installed device was worthy of attention related to the security.

Well, if the Andriod devices are not safe to install the bitcoin wallet, the laptops / Desktop aren't safe too. Any device which is connected to the Internet increase the chances of getting vulnerable to malwares / hacks etc.

The large amount of bitcoin should always be stored on the hardware wallet or on the Air gapped devices (for those who are techy and understand how to setup and operate).

You should only use wallets like Electrum or blue wallet only for the purpose of storing small amounts of bitcoins that you want to transact with. The right place to store the majority of your long term savings are the hardware wallets.
593  Economy / Gambling / Re: Guide for newcomers Start a fun and profitable gambling entertainment journey o on: November 06, 2023, 12:04:08 PM
Let me start with welcoming you to the forum, but I would ask that you please pay attention the the RULES. You do not need to start a new thread everytime you make a post. Each gambling site is allowed 1 THREAD PER SITE. Failure to comply with forum rules can result in a ban for you. Please read both threads.
Checking his Post History all of the 21 posts he had are newly created thread just to advertise this site https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;threads;u=3576527;sa=showPosts;start=20  so i agree with you that he must learn about the rules .
and also what he is doing is creating thread and will not come back or engage in that said thread and look 3 days after this thread created he never back online , wondering that His next online is when there is a new thread to promote this Site of His.I think there is something that players must consider before even depositing here.

He doesn't look serious in engaging in the discussion here and maybe he is not familiar with how the bitcointalk ANN threads work. I am sure after a few days he will create another such thread and think he is doing marketing, but he is only hurting his project like this.

If he is serious, he should at least read the replies here and update the OP as suggested by many members, and above all be active. There are so many good trust casinos on this forum, all having been actively managed along with the signature campaigns, so advertising some random gambling sites in an unorganized way will not help the site to grow.
594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: November 06, 2023, 07:27:13 AM
It's not good when we use our rest time between work to gamble. but I see that a lot of my work friends do. they play slots on their phones and they play them when they're done or even while eating lunch. maybe everyone has their own way to rest or find their own pleasure. even though it's not good, I see it happening around me. those who gamble during their work breaks, not when they are on the job. Even though it is possible for those who have casual jobs, it is still unethical to do so.
If they gamble at lunch, it doesn't seem to interfere with their work because they are on break time. But when they return to work, they should not gamble because it will make it difficult to focus on their work. That will disrupt his work, and he won't be able to finish it on time. And it is unethical if they gamble while working because they are at work and they should focus on work and not gambling. Hopefully, they can understand their position at work so that they can start to stop their habit of gambling at work.

I do not understand that if the people gamble during the lunch break and if they lose then it will have a bad effect on their mind and emotions and for the rest of the day in the office they won't be able to perform as they were energetic and dutiful before the gamble.

I think they do not need to engage in unnecessary gambling during such breaks in the office, the breaks are usually small and there will be an element of hurriness and they will be no peace and as a result even the gambling result may not come in their favour.
595  Economy / Services / Re: I'm offering my services as a writer in exchange for btc on: November 05, 2023, 07:36:00 PM
I think for you to advertise such service better, it would be nice for you to actually put up some link to some of your past work or provide a site where we can verify your claims as a good writer if not everyone can just come up and offer such service even with poor skills

Check the edited opening post. I'm going to cut to the chase here, if my writing skills meet your needs you'll see it as you review the article. If not, your not expected to pay.

While this seems to be a good tactic in case you do not have any portfolio but remember this open ended offer can be miss used by the employees. Some scammer may offer you to write and do not pay you even if he likes your article.

Why not until you get any offers try writing your own articles and use them as your portfolio, this way not only people will know how you can write but at the same time you do not have to come across an awkward situation where you write and not get paid.
596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Conclusion after losing millions! that games are rigged. on: November 05, 2023, 06:51:39 PM
Casino is not a game but it's a place where there are games inside it and people play it to entertain themselves and have profit if they are lucky. I say it because many people lose as the casino has more advantage than them.

Yes, the casino has the house edge advantage, and they deserve to get this advantage because they have spent the money to develop their site. business and it is not a charitable organization. Casinos are not at all made to give an advantage or free money to the player's, they are always made with a business mindset to earn profit.

The only thing that the user can win more is when a casino experience a problem or some hackers screw it first. I've seen cases like this on the past. I feel sorry for that casino. They are fair and only wants to try to earn on this space. There are still other reasons on why a casino can get bankrupt. No business owner's wants that so they should always try their best and follow the plans that they have created in order to avoid it.

Even though people lose more in the casino but still no one complains that the casino is rigged or unfair. Do you know why?
The reason is simple. Every gambler knows how the casino works and gambler still tries their luck that even with the house edge advantage to the house, they still have a chance to win big and this hope keeps motivating the gamblers to keep risking their money.
597  Economy / Gambling / Re: QuitGamble.com - Free Help for Problem Gamblers on: November 05, 2023, 12:12:26 PM
I did a quick look at the website and found a few guides and posts containing the symptoms of a gambling addiction, statistics, some general information, a few blog spots, and a happiness test, which is pretty vague and asks only a handful of questions, which are not enough to draw a conclusion.

In general, the website has useful information but certainly requires more tests, questionnaires, and content.

I just do not understand how a website may help you get rid of a gambling addiction. The people who are addicted to gambling, I am sure their family and friends must have asked to stop the gambling frequency. The people near the gambling addcited must have tried to stop the person from addiction but to no avail. So how come a text website will be able to help get rid of gambling addiction???

Anyways the first thing, they ask you is to have a happiness test. Has anyone given that test? I haven't tried it because it asks for an email address where they will send the result of this test and I am not comfortable given my email address on sites unknown to me.

598  Other / Meta / Re: Image ban or tagging, is it possible? on: November 05, 2023, 02:48:56 AM
I'm sure there's a free use policy on images posted on the Internet and if I recall correctly, if the person that has taken the photo explicitly stated that they don't want it to be used by other people then that's when the plagiarism starts to be an issue and it's mostly being done by professional photographers there's a famous case of that iirc although it was amicably settled, I think it was a picture used by a YouTube music video which a lot of people loved and the video got taken down for copyright on the picture. In this forum, I think that it's going to be difficult to get accused of image plagiarism so you don't need to worry OP.

Well, you may get away with posting random images on this forum but this does not mean that you won't be accused of image plagiarism.
Let me tell you that if you ever participated in any art contest, and try to get an image from the internet and tell that this is your submission (your artwork), then you may be in trouble. Similarly copying anyone else work and presenting it as yours in some sort of competition, may get you tagged, if not banned.

So, you need to be careful and it really depends on which context the image is copied and posted on the bitcointalk forum.
599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Telegram Casinos good or bad? on: November 04, 2023, 08:08:17 PM
So, the latest trend when it comes to crypto gambling is the new wave of Telegram Casinos . I'm not talking about those early bots where you could play simple blackjack games in a Telegram group; I'm referring to these new crypto casinos like TG Casino, Mega Dice, and Lucky Block. They've created tailor-made mobile casinos for the Telegram audience, allowing players to log in through their Telegram accounts and start playing instantly without the need for KYC.

What do you guys think about this new trend? Is it good or bad?

Well, i won't be one who would recommend anyone to go for the telegram casinos? I am not saying that these casinos are scams or anything like that but we know that there are a lot of scammers active on telegram and if someone develops a phishing telegram site, it may be hard to recognize and maybe the gamblers can get scammed on such fake telegram casinos.

Due to this risk, i will prefer the online web casino and not try to gamble on so called "Telegram Casinos"
600  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Csgo500 SCAM 77.500$ on: November 04, 2023, 07:21:11 PM
Hello, I decided to play on csgo500. I topped up $25,000 and bet on x3. I managed to win, I was lucky. When I started withdrawing money, I encountered a problem and was asked to go through verification.

Did you not do a KYC before and was it after you won a big amount, the site asked for the KYC ?
By the way, topping up $25000 was itself a quite lot of money and you should not have deposited this much money on any random site.
I am not sure yet if Csgo500 is a legit site or not as I am hearing about this site for the first time.

I only had 2 accounts (dmitriykartashov308) and the one on which I won. These are not new accounts; Quite a lot of money was lost there. The admins should have known that I had a second account. In all this time I have not received a single bonus from the casino and have not tried to bypass the withdrawal limits. I suggested re-passing KYC

[...]

Did the site Csgo500 allow creation of more than one accounts. Most sites won't allow you to have more than one account, and this can be an easy excuse for them to block your accounts and do not let you withdrawal. Remember, you said lot of money was lost there, and the site have no probelm even if you have 100s of accounts. The probelm only occurs when you win any amount, as you have won now.
I hope you understand how all this gambling system works for untrusted sites.
You can bypass every rules as long as you're losing. Once you win, oh you are not allowed to have 2 accounts. Sorry. Thats the stance of these sites.

If you read the thread a little bit more carefully, and the screenshots that got translated into english by several users, you'll come to better understand why he didn't do KYC before, whether 500casino "allows" creation of more than one account, and probably the situation regarding this case.

Thanks for this however i was more interested to find the official response on this case and it clearly concludes that OP was at fault.
Doing the KYC with falsified documentation, making multiple accounts and violating the terms and conditions, only to fulfill his gambling addiction is never going to help him.

After checking with Support, this is their official response:

Quote
The user was not banned for ''exploiting'' any game, although the suspicious activities logged triggered red flags in our system which led us to some probing. Turns out that the user in question created and operated multiple accounts which is expressly prohibited in our policies.

Secondly, upon further investigation, it was discovered that the user had submitted falsified documentation during the KYC verification process.

When confronted with these facts, the user admitted to his wrongdoings (he made sure to not include those screenshots in the reply).

His accounts were locked and the user was permanently banned from using our services.
