581  Economy / Collectibles / The Physical Coin Repository and Sales Thread. on: June 11, 2016, 09:03:01 PM
Hi guys, this topic peaked my interest. Sitting here for a while Smiley

We are lurking in the same places.

@stereotype Sorry for posting here not to buy. I liked to read this thread.

By the way. I have the btcc 1 btc coin and it is definitly desirable  Wink

(My favorite coin is jeanne d'arc from alitinmint. Do know why they sold so bad)
Youre very welcome sardokan.  Smiley Feel free to post pics of the jeanne d'arc coin. Yet another coin ive never seen before.

In fact, this sales thread has been going for quite a while now, and seems to be on many a watchlist. My sale/s are pretty much done for now, so if any of the usual physical coin suspects (you know who you are!) want to expose their sales to a/the broader audience, post your links here, if you want. General physical coin discussion is also welcome.
582  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Selling quality collectable Casascius coins........ on: June 10, 2016, 10:58:52 PM
Hey stereotype

Quick Q

What bits and bobs have you got left for sale?

Cheers

Viz

The only bits i can put my hands on at the mo, are some badges, 4x 5BTC blank casascius, and some of the copper coins. I'll post some pics if wanted.

Cheers

I think that is a short-sighted and confrontational analysis.
Its not analysis. Its a warning.

Anyone claiming to 1, prop a price up, and 2, claim that propping up a price is in everyones interest, should ring loud alarm bells. Theres really nothing to analyse...... It will be only a matter of time, before the controller of a/the market disappears up his/her's own arse, trying to decide whos interest he/she is trying to protect.....including their own vested interests.
It will end in tears. Dont do it.

Very nice. Thank you very much, gusterdd! I have retweeted it.

If your want to, you can add a column: WOB_ratio = bid_BTC / ask_OTHER
which has the unit of a price. And then compare the current market price with that.

Very happy to see you working with our data.
We will be adding functions to Newbium. Always open to good suggestions.

Here is a cross comparison of the WOB histograms of all the coins that you have chosen to look at:

(click for larger)
The differences in numbers are simply due to the time shift probably.

I have been considering how valid this kind of metric is, myself.
Can you go into anymore detail, on what triggers and parameters you are concentrating on?

A valid question indeed. Have you read these posts? pt1 and pt2 - and pt3.

There is one more -more technical- summary coming up. But also ask your questions please, then I include answers to them.

I was in contact with a bot seller on this forum, for a specific need/want. Heres the copypasta of my message to him....

"Just to explain my specificness....im trying to see if its possible to identify when the movers and shakers (whales) are active, and not. So i want to be able to see the spikes, and movement of spikes of order size, both sides of the book. I want to find out if there is a certain or recognisable pattern that forms, ultimately. And for that, i need an easy on the eye way of expressing these possible patterns, ideally in real-time."

So to reiterate the above, i want to know and identify when market moving size, enters or leaves a given market, in an attempt to ride their coat-tails. I would also need this to be represented on a line graph to easily identify any patterns/ratios, if any.

I understand your point, but I dont fully agree. E.g. what do you mean with "market stabilization"? One could argue that even bitcoin is not stabilized yet.

Also, as stated the amount of PoA coins is very limited (~9K?) comparing the total amount of purchased coins (600K) or the total amount of coins (30M). And even if people would dump the coins the investors could by new tokens with even cheaper than the original prize.

You could also first release the first PoA coins then the second etc.

I agree 100% bitcoin isn't "stabilized" if such a thing is even possible with Bitcoin.  Bitcoin is not meant to be "stable".

If Bitcoin were meant to be stable, you wouldn't have all these people losing their minds about the block reward halving driving up the price...

Bitcoin is a deflationary currency with a capped supply, that is meant to attempt to drastically increase in value...not be "stable"...

Dogecoin is meant to be "stable"...it has an open ended supply, but a burning mechanism to counter balance the supply.  THAT is a "stabilization" strategy.

All tokens aren't meant to be "stable".

When you have few buy orders on the books, and give people "free tokens", they have no incentive not to dump those tokens.

There are NOT 600k tokens "for sale"...

The order books barely top 100k "for sale"...

There is a HUGE difference.

I am not going to let those people dump the price of the coin.  Period.

This is not really a debate.

They will get their tokens when there are enough buy orders on the books so that they can't temporarily destroy the price in a few sales.

It's just smarter this way.

This is protecting the INVESTORS.

The people who get tokens for free come second to people who paid.  Period.

Also, if you won tokens for free and AREN'T simply trying to dump them, what I am doing right now should make you happy, as it will keep the value of the tokens from being dropped.

Shouldn't it?
Chris
Your intention to control the price/market will very quickly compromise the integrity of you and your project. Theres no way people will be comfortable directing funds to any project where one person (you), has the intention to prop-up a price. You will be accused of manipulation, and creating a false market IMO. The markets need to be free, and if people dump, its because they dont find enough value in said market. Its the value of the project you need to enhance, not the value of a/the market.

Are you really using lisk name to make some profit? Roll Eyes

This is a lisk based coin, but i'm not using lisk name for any profit. I believe in the starting concept of lisk and i'm really impressed with the current lisk software but i believe it can be much better, much more improvements can/and should be done.

That's not an answer mate...you can have a lisk based coin with a different name...btw good luck
Yeah. The line between complimentary, and parasite, is a thin one, IMO.

588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: June 07, 2016, 04:17:26 PM
dear everyone, im so confuse,
i known NXT from youtube video of Marc De Mesel, i wuld like to love NXT, if i understood what it is

1. could anyone enlighten me, what is the difference between NXT and etherium, also LISK
(NXT and LISK both using java, but all could easy into programming specially etherium)

2. english is not my native language, blockchain and coinbase is very easy to use, but NXT dashboard is confusing, i dont even know what all those feature for, and how to use it
i cant even decide how to accept NXT, also how to send the money both reveal/anonymous , i think people need dummy tutorial on how to use every feature, and please simplify things.. to many text and confusing code or icon makes my brain overheat

3. is it save to buy NXT now, was told there is going to be fork and potentially ruin the beauty of the cripto (even i dont know how to use it)

please teach me..
so i know what to tell to all my friends about NXT (i often use bitcoin,, A LOT, and cannot understand how to use NXT, and all its feature)

I make some of your observations absolutely valid. The problem is, many of those confusing dashboard features were far too clever, and completely unnecessary, at the time they were conceived. I dont believe they are used that much, at this time.
NXT was very innovative and in some ways, groundbreaking. But it seems the "build it, and they will come" phrase, should not have been relied upon.
Your problems adopting it yourself, is interesting, and should be fundamentally understood by any dev from this time forward, if a project has any chance of being adopted in any meaningful way.

They are a nice looking coin. A finish somewhere between brass / copper and silver in quality.
Titanium and funded from coinbase, is a nice USP. Yeah, they look cool as well. Check out their version of an "error" coin.....

Badly, i do excellent entry point but mostly sell to early Smiley
(Sold EXP at 25k, went to 400k the same day, sold FTC at 4k and it went to 18k, sold AUR at 15k went to 100k...)
I really need to trust more into my own advice!

But i decided to hold and stake NIRO until we see Kurrent node broadcasting from low earth orbit  Cool

Have you considered exiting only part of your position? For a start, you can sell only half of you coins, and the other half a bit later.

Was gonna say the same thing. Although I would sell 2/3rd's, and let the last third run, with a SL at break-even, and let it run for a bit, moving SL up every 10%.
The 2/3rd's helps a little with the psychology of losing/winning trades, more so with 50/50, personally.

Good luck with sales.

Well, luck is all i have, right now. Cos having a competitor run into my shop, write on the windows in indelible ink what his last trades have been for the last year, multiple times, every time i try to promote my sale.........sure aint fuckin helpful, buddy.

Your sense of entitlement is baffling, to put it mildly.

Sorry for telling people the facts... For the record, I was going to offer more than what I had paid on the last ones. Welcome to how forum sales work!  It is pretty standard that people post prices recently paid. If you need some pointers feel free to msg me as I have plenty of experience here with these kinds of coins.

Edit: How am I a competitor? I was wanting to make you an offer not sell any. Had you not been a dick I would have made an offer.
Excuse me?Huh
