5881  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reasons why Bitcoin is droping: on: January 12, 2018, 04:54:38 PM

Reasons why #Bitcoin is droping:

- Not a single rebrand since 2009
- No "huge news" or "strategic partnerships"
- Not enough airdrops
- Not enough PhD graduates on the team
- Team not doing bounties...
- Logo is not cool
- Satoshi is not being communicative

This was tweeted by person named Crypto Rand, what do you think about his tweet . I think these reasons always exit but Bitcoin is still very expensive, I would like to know your thoughts on this

Right now the sudden drop of the price from $16,000 USD  to $13,000 USD is because of the FUD being spread due to a news where it said that South Korea will ban bitcoin and exchanges. This is not completely true. One of their ministers mistakenly announced about the ban without consulting other. An official statement was given that they are not banning anything.

5883  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading or not? on: January 12, 2018, 09:52:53 AM
If I lost most of my capital in one coin, I will hold the first to coin it up again, whether it can be called trading or not?
Give your opinion Smiley
This is not considered as trading. It is more like investing for a long time, that is holding up the coin until the price rises and you make profit. On other hand trading is more like exchanging between USDT or different alt coins to make some profits in short term.
5884  Other / Archival / Re: KFC Canada accepts bitcoin on: January 12, 2018, 07:13:26 AM
I was just browsing on social media and someone posted an image of KFC Canada's tweets. It's funny on how they market bitcoin chicken bucket.  Grin

I like the sense of humor of the admin of their account.

Check their twitter account https://twitter.com/kfc_canada it's verified.

They are also live of facebook https://www.facebook.com/KFCCanada/videos/1758453490840478/
I did hear about this lol. Good initiation taken by KFC Canada, but what about the confirmation time? Order today and get your bitcoin bucket tomorrow?

LOL I wonder how some one will pay for one burger and pay fee in bitcoins. Fee will be like 100 burgers price lol.
Lightning network should help them with this problem. The company already launched its main net lightning network!
5885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stuck Transaction on: January 11, 2018, 10:13:49 PM
Hey tabas,

Thanks for your reply. I think there has been some update on my transaction - I think it's probably double spent now of some manual intervention by the wallet provider (BitOasis). However, the BTC balance has not been updated in the wallet. Do you think you can verify that for me please? Would really appreciate it Smiley

Thanks and regards,
Mukund
No I don't think your transaction has been double spent or anything. 60 sat/B is actually very small based fee based on the current network situation. You could try using those free accelerator services. https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/

5886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Is Really A Good Investment or Not? on: January 11, 2018, 09:52:46 PM
It can be profitable, and in a few occasions developers deliver the product. But it doesn't mean it is a good way to invest. I would prefer traditional investments, where developers are not paid before the product is delivered, and regulation prevents them from running away with the money.
Yes, 99% of ICOs are cash grabs and scams in the long term but it doesn't mean one should not invest in ICOs because the hype around the ICOs are huge when they hit exchanges it will be more than 2x atleast. This is an easy way to increase your ethereum without much risk.
If most of the ICOs are scam, then why would you invest on ICOs. You would just be encourage those scammers and along with another scammers to start up more shitty ICOs and scam more people. Sometimes it is best to avoid somethings for the betterment of the future.
5887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What exactly do government mean by regulating bit Coins? on: January 11, 2018, 09:48:14 PM
In the last few days government in countries like south Korea & India  are talking about regulation bitcoins and other crypto currencies. now South Korea is taking about banning it and all the news ?
what exactly they mean by regulation ??
And now after days of understanding it they are deciding to ban it as they are not able to regulate it is it so?
or there is some other story to it?

guys what do you think?
Regulating means to take control of something by imposing strict rules and policy. Bitcoin right now is decentralized. Hence the government has no power over it. But by regulating  that is imposing some certain laws, rules and policies they can bring it to under their control - this is what the government thinks and this won't be happening.
5888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum vs Bitcoin as goal of investments on: January 11, 2018, 09:31:03 PM
Many people out there don´t believe that Ethereum can be a long term hodling, they simply use it participate in ICOs, sell and buy bitcoin again with the profit. Do you think that may change this year and ethereum can be seen as the choice to hodl?
I would say bitcoin is a better coin for long term investment. Instead of just focusing on bitcoin and ethereum, you can try other alt coins which has a strong community and a development team. Most of the alt coins will give you profit in short terms. So do your research when trading with alt coins.
5889  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to do micro payments with bitcoin? on: January 11, 2018, 03:17:59 PM
How to do micro payments with bitcoin? The transactions need to be verified on the blockchain, but need to minimize the fees.
With the current situation of the network and all those fee it is actually not possible to do micro transactions with bitcoin. Your best option is to switch to some other Alt coins or just wait for the lightening network which is supposed to help us do transactions instantly with very less fees.

I don’t about micro payments but can you help me to explain something about micro payments that can help me in knowing more to this? Thank you for the response

Micro payments are low value transactions.
Xapo is a scam, don't use it at all, Bitfury and Coinbase and co are also not to be trusted, they are behind the BCash agenda.
I understand the deal with bitfury and coinbase, but why is Xapo a scam?
5890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Selling Cryptopia Account on: January 11, 2018, 10:08:12 AM
Why do people need to buy Cryptopia accounts? Binance accounts are OK. But cryptopia Accounts! Anyone can easily make cryptopia Accounts free.  Huh
They turned off their registration for a while. According to their recent tweet, it looks like the registration is now once again open for all and free to register.
Just a heads up, buying exchange account is filled with risk. The original owner can recover his account easily!
5891  Economy / Speculation / Re: We broke $17k price on Bitcoin will $20k be next? on: January 11, 2018, 09:59:59 AM
We could go higher in price but unexpected events won't allow us to. Look what happened to the price now. It went down more than 13% just after South Korea is starting to impose a ban and police raiding exchanges. The South Koreans are not sure what to do and are now panic selling their coins!

that is why these altcoins have been getting pumped. because bitcoin fees are high and at the same time these altcoins have been "advertised to have low fees" and they used to have low fees.
ETH fees have been rising and they go very high whenever there is some activity on chain like some ICO or like the cryptokitties!
LTC fees are also moderately higher than what was promised.
and XRP is a centralized token anyways so who cares Smiley
XRP is just shit. People are joining in out of hype. They don't even what Ripple is all about. They are thinking that the banks will be using the coins but they don't know that they will be using the technology not the coins.
5892  Other / Off-topic / Re: Everybody is joining.. on: January 10, 2018, 05:13:50 AM
Yeah, it is true that right now many people are actually joining the crypto currency world. But this is also true that they are not joining for the features that the coins are giving. They are joining for the profits through investment. They are here to take the advantage of the price volatility.
5893  Economy / Economics / Re: What's the reason behind this mass price rise? on: January 06, 2018, 10:45:37 AM
It actually very conflict to predict what is driving the BTC so crazy. So last pump of bitcoin was like miracle and there was jus one news about its listing in the fortune exchanger etc. But I don't see any point either for its pump just because of that news. I mean BTC was literally at 3K at the year start and it went all upto 20K. That was insane stuff to happen really.

The market in the long run only grows because of few factors and that includes, investors, developments, and high market capitalism etc. But with BTC there was sudden increase in the value and it was literally happened with unknown reasons. At least thats what I feel.
Its all because of those attention bitcoin has received like CME adding bitcoin future recently. People wanted to join the hype, thus started to invest on bitcoin. More new investors seeing the price go up, wanted to join in too to make some quick profit and thus they also started to invest on it, causing the price to skyrocket crazily.
5894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have around 8000 BTC,but my country are too small cap to cash out on: January 06, 2018, 09:55:20 AM
Thanks everyone for the advice.Contact Gemini or other for big exchanges private deal should be the best idea so far,
because I can't even get verified account on these exchanges, they only allow US citizen.
Just make sure you know what you are doing. 8000 BTC is a LOT! Make sure you are familiar with laws prevailing on your country. You don't want your bank account to get frozen or get in trouble with the laws, do you? Transferring such large amount of money will actually get your attention.
5895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do we need to gamble? on: January 06, 2018, 09:18:55 AM
Its like asking why do some people need to smoke? To satisfy their body with the nicotine they are addicted to. Same reason for gambling. People gamble to satisfy their gambling addiction. They feel like something is missing in their life when they don't gamble and gets an urge to gamble as soon as possible. The satisfaction they get from quick wins is what makes them addicted to gambling.
5896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I find a good altcoin? on: January 06, 2018, 08:54:24 AM
You should be looking for top alt coins. They have a very good development and a strong community. They also have a huge trade volumes on reputed exchanges. Read the whitepaper. Good alt coins will offer good features. Shit alt coins are just clones of other coins.
5897  Economy / Speculation / Re: Holding will be a risk or not?? on: January 05, 2018, 05:51:51 PM
If you hold it for a long term, it won't be risky. But holding it for a short term and letting your emotions play is going to be too risky. The price of bitcoin always tends to go upwards. So chances of making profit is high when you invest on bitcoin. But do keep in mind that there are still risks when you consider investing on bitcoin. So invest what you can afford to lose.
5898  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do people actually buy coins with real life money? on: January 05, 2018, 05:02:37 PM
I admit that even a single bitcoin i am hardly to afford it due to many expenses i have to consider in our family. So that's why i am not shame to say that on my first step i take advantage of the use of this signature campaigns that in near future i could have my own kind of bitcoin in hand.
No one is telling you to buy one whole bitcoin. If you can't afford one whole bitcoin, why not buy fractions of it. It is possible to buy fraction and even smaller fractions of bitcoin. Just invest around $1000 and watch it grow on price. Your bitcoin won't increase but your profit will.
5899  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need your advice for student who invested all his savings into bitcoin on: January 05, 2018, 04:52:15 PM
Hello everybody.
Here is a real problem when not experienced people invest in bitcoin because of its hype. But let's imagine if you are a student who invested all savings into bitcoin.
Many experts say it's a bubble. CEO of JPMorgan Chase says it's a bubble, now it's down almost 30 - 40%...

What can you advise?
The price went up from $4,000 USD to almost $20,000 USD in just few weeks. People thought it was a bubble and started to compare it with the dutch tulip mania incident. But they don't have any clue how it works. The price fall was bound to happen due to the sudden price rise. And this correction was very much needed and actually quite healthy. We have seen the price being stable around 13k-14k USD for the last few weeks, and now the price has start to go up and is currently around $16,000 USD. What I am trying to say here is that you should get yourself familiar with this ups and downs that happens on bitcoin.
My advise is not to hear what those shitty CEO says. Just invest whatever you can afford to lose.
5900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to keep my wallet safe? on: January 05, 2018, 04:37:14 PM
Best are to use hardware and offline wallets if you are holding for long term. But they are not convenient for making everyday transactions. If you wish to hold some coins for everyday transactions like for trading, move them to  a hot wallet. You can use your desktop wallet as a hot wallet. Make sure your computer is free from malware and virus. And don't forget to backup your wallet.
