61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fair number of coins kept by dev on: June 26, 2016, 01:29:15 PM

Considering Satoshi owned 10% of Bitcoin, probably not, though it does create a bad situation.  On the other hand, there are some technologies where one holder controlling too many tokens could break privacy features.

Ten percent seems like a disproportionately high amount for someone to own if they develop the thing in the first place, but having manually distributed coins on a network for over 2 years I can readily see how a 10% shareholding might come about in the normal organic growth and development of this technology.

I have consistently sold coins to keep my holdings reasonable, and also limited the amounts we will sell to those investing so that we can make sure that we benefit as much as possible from the network effect.

If you look at many rich lists an approximately 10% max holding appears to be commonplace - but individuals with that many coins would be able to manipulate the markets freely, however this does not seem to put off investors and these coins are often very successful.

Do you think an oligarchy is necessary for driving demand and value appreciation?

Obviously PoS coins pay an "interest rate" to incentivise people to hold onto them, and masternode networks allow mining in proportion to coin holdings. Both of these things incentivise people to acquire an increasing stake. I ask because Carboncoin does not have that, our focus being on raw capital growth.

The point of this is to keep the network secure at low hashrates. Which it is.

We're distributing the coins actively and growing the network in a controlled way.

Anyone wanting to do a transaction independently can either mine in the client (instructions above) or when our operation needs to make a transfer, if there is no one mining, we switch it on.

Every new addition to the network is a step in right direction or, if you're familiar with your economics, every two new members of the network are four steps in the right direction.

Timing is everything, and we are doing things in the right order.

That is NOT the current thread.  That is the moderated thread where they are too scared to have any doubt and delete posts.

Right on cue, thanks Dim

Dim is our troll and pro-bono PR specialist

Good to raise awareness of the community takeover story - I'm sure there are lots of people that could do with finding out about it who won't have been around since we stopped using this thread.

Good thinking!

Current thread for information on this coin can be found at: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1131250

Know any other crypto projects with an actually anonymous issuer of coins?

We've no idea who the guy who started this is/was, all we know is he abandoned his community very early on and then that same community decided to do some good with their blockchain.

Coins have been available since the start of the project and continue to be distributed as fairly and evenly as possible, with the largest stakeholder the charity, in which all coins were donated. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/carbon/#!rich

The community had no access to any premine and have self funded to date

Oh and we have a troll... (Say hi, Dim)

Chain stops if no one hashes on it, as you can see I have advised about several times. Thing is if no one hashes on it then transactions stop, but this is temporary, and no one loses any coins, no one's coins are under any threat whatsoever, because of the custom security we have implemented.

Imagine being able to type without being able to read

Zero.

but...

Zero.

but an early adopter might own how many in your opinion?

It is on the market to decide that...

Do you think there's a point, in percentage terms, where the size of one individual's holdings would have a negative effect on the price?

Not more than 2% consider acceptable value.
Thus, coin holders, are more confident in the development, rather than banal sink.

Great that's what I've been working off!

All the early adopters including the developer of Carboncoin are all capped at 2% ownership, with the only exception being the charity which has had about 4 donated
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Fair number of coins kept by dev on: June 19, 2016, 07:16:29 PM
Just a little research into the right numbers for coin retention and distribution

What do you think is fair given, say, a 6 month full time time commitment from the said individual and no ICO/startup funding

Any other mitigating circumstances?

Eager to hear your thoughts

There is a premine percentage of coins available at the two satoshi level here https://c-cex.com/?p=carb-btc

We've been auomatically flagged for removal there several times because we have been taking our time choosing our last few early adopters, but we continue to be freely available (not available for free), as we have been since the launch two years ago

Oh and here's a link to a nice graphic on how our network is developing

Every new person added helps the cause. Our 1-2s value is consistently trading while we are in our distribution phase, which will continue. We're in the late stages of raising formal funding - do you know what happens when we get a full time team on this? Besides you getting your nose rubbed in it of course...

The plans to achieve a marked increase in those two factors are well formed and scheduled, but are contingent on our coming client upgrade and addition of one new service which we have been unfortunately waiting for for some time.

If the new service is not delivered by the time we have finished the new client version then a substantial bounty will be offered to someone else.

There are so many projects in motion for this you would not believe it, but then you don't believe anything do you?
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CARBON][SM] Carboncoin | For a Greener Future - Efficient+Secure+Sustainable on: June 19, 2016, 11:57:59 AM
You can look the numbers up for yourself. Well done for paying attention though.

Running for over two years with no breaches is a fact

Running with the same security feature that makes PoS blockchains possible which we added as a custom feature enabling our energy efficiency = fact

Several hundred non crypto users on board who have not got any prior crypto experience = fact

Charity set up which will be funded by adoption of the currency - exists - proof of concept for that funding occurring - there (bitcoin)

The factor involved in us being able to plant the trees = adoption of the currency - I will grant you that this has created a chasm which we have to cross which is possible however difficult but why you yourself are exclusively devoted to trying to stop this happening remains a total mystery.

Keep them coming, it's good to get these issues answered - they will all make it into the summary before anything derogatory gets deleted

Dim you're a waste of the air you breathe, and the food you've eaten. You make the average human less than what he should be.

We've made a whole load of things happen which your ignorant nonsense has failed to notice.

How's doing your bit for the world you live in going?

Takes a lot more than one raspberry pi to make a secure network. Why don't you build what you think this is and we'll see if you can provide secure transaction processing for over two years. You can't, just in case you thought you'd try. For "can't" read "are not able to" just to clarify.

76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CARBON][SM] Carboncoin | For a Greener Future - Efficient+Secure+Sustainable on: June 12, 2016, 10:21:04 PM
Looks like I got under someones skin.  Couldn't answer any criticism about how the coin cant get on a good exchange and all the so called features such as having it's own forum with a whole 1 post in the past months.  Failure.  Dead coin.

That was more likely me with a complete timeline of this scam from start to stop as Axis's "Boyfriend" and I used to work on another project, everything here is faked from the start. I still love the effort in trying to use a 100% 3d rendered picture for the field of tree they were meant to have planted, Did I mention Axis's little lapdog was my Web Dev and graphic artist .... stay away from this coin if you know what good for you, this is the 3rd thread they;ve had,

first one was original Pump and dump creator
second one was unmoderated and didn't fit purpose and again we are here with this 3rd forum topic started, One Axis can silence truth tellers like me .....

all objections from non trolls have been addressed. You're a troll along with Dim, strikes me that the obvious abbreviation of your name which would be equally representative is a bit NSFW so i'll leave it out. While I hope you understand my opinion of you, i wont hold my breath.

This too will be moderated, but people can read it in the meantime.

I heard from someone I spoke to once that you extorted money from your investors for your little sand pit games.

Everything we have achieved with me at the helm has been from the good will of good people trying to do good.

You are here making untrue accusations you have no knowledge about, directly against me, my motivation, and my work. How does it feel when someone calls you out with no good reason?

This has been done with benevolent intentions and has continued as such. Whatever your motives for being offensive, they are misguided i am afraid you are unjust, and you will no doubt reap the rewards of that in the fullness of time.

Let go of that anger towards my friend who I have never met face to face due to him being on the other side of the atlantic, you'll be happier afterwards. You might also lose the homophobia, it will not win you any arguments.

I will also come on skype tomorrow..just been a bit busy today in general.  Smiley

Looking forward to it!

This post serves as my application for copywriter/researcher Smiley

Anyone on the dev team here?  I should be more than qualified to join, and would love to help promote this coin!

That's fantastic news and you will be fairly rewarded for anything you contribute. What do you think would be the best use of your time for us right now?
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CARBONCOIN TO BE FULLY BACKED BY CARBON CREDITS on: June 04, 2016, 01:30:34 AM
doesn't work... we already try that many times. CANN, KDC...

Great to know that thank you. Have you any insight into why you think they may have failed?

Our Carbon Credits initiative is only one part of the project, there is much more going on too - but also the way we are going about the backing is unlikely to have been done before - so we will see how we get on.

Interested to hear your thoughts and knowledge on those other projects and thanks again
