61  Economy / Speculation / Another uptrend has shaped up trying to break $5600 again on: May 03, 2019, 07:43:19 AM
after the recent drama with Bitfinex and their Tether shenanigans which causes a short term backtrack we are once again on the rise heading over to $5600 to try and break it.
if it succeeds today we can see a big wave of FOMO to shoot the price above $6k easily in less than half an hour.
so far it seems like the buy power is strong enough to break it today. what do you think?
62  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy every dip! on: May 03, 2019, 07:27:10 AM
We are still in a bear market so follow an old rule: risk only what you can afford to lose.

i am wondering what your definition of a bear market is? because with this statement which i quoted here you are saying that if the price rises about 70% in 4 months then that rise means we are in a bear market!

Another way of putting it is this: we are still down 73% from the ATH. While I agree with analysts that see preliminary signs of a long term bottom, this is a far cry from a bull market. At this point, it's indistinguishable from a bull trap.

Take last year for instance. In February we bounced from $5,9xx to $11,7xx. Nearly a 100% move! Was it a bull market? Of course not!

We probably need several more months of price action to flesh out an accumulation range and see support tested and held by the bulls. After that, we'll see clearer signs of a bull market in the charts.

if you are going to go back then go back further not to ATH Wink
meaning we are up 2700%  in 4 years.

as for the bull run, i agree. it is not technically possible to call this a bull run but you can not compare it with what happened in February because that was a legit downtrend from the ATH and the rise from $5.9k to $11k was a "correction" of sorts because of the huge drop (a sharp V curve). but this is a rise after an accumulation phase (a flat line).
63  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to recover when you are down 90% of your portfolio? on: May 03, 2019, 07:12:34 AM
you now have two options:
1. you saw that you can not be successful in this market so you leave and don't come back to save yourself the trouble.

2. you saw you weren't successful but you still want to keep trying and become successful so you continue taking the risks. in this case, however, you should first start by analyzing things you did so far that led to your 90% loss. and then see what were the things you did wrong so that you can avoid them in the future. do that your success rat will start increasing slowly.
for example a big mistake that most people made was to listen to what altcoins others were suggesting then to buy and bag hold!
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Traditional Payment Processors on: May 03, 2019, 07:00:41 AM
it is already happening!
the only difference is that since bitcoin is a completely new and different technology it takes much longer to reach mass adoption. also since there is a lot of FUD against bitcoin, it makes the mass adoption that much harder to happen. so the process has become very slow but it is still happening because it can not be stopped.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be considered a Religion? on: May 03, 2019, 06:50:46 AM
Considering how many Bitcoin believers (maximalists) there are, with their specific beliefs of how cryptocurrency should behave, it's becoming more evident that Bitcoin is a religion.

that is the weirdest comment i have ever read in this forum!
when you click the buttons on your keyboard you believe that they do a certain action. for example when you click the key with letter "c" on it you expect it to type "c" on your screen. that doesn't mean computer is a religion because you expect it to behave in a certain way and doesn't make you a computer maximalist!

bitcoin is the same, it is expected to behave in a certain way (decentralized, no censorship, boarderless, immutable,...) that doesn't change anything about whoever wants these things to remain the same.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Question to Bitcoiners: What do you think about IEO? on: May 02, 2019, 09:27:17 AM
it has always been messy and it has nothing to do with the new exchanges getting on board. the problem is that this method of crowdfunding is pretty bad and none of the projects so far have used the funds they raised to deliver anything. they have all taken the money and gone away to do something else with their lives instead!

nowadays it is only about how you can gamble in the market so there is lots of ICOs and alternative forms of them like IEOs with a different name but the same thing at heart and everyone wants to get on board to take advantage. and that is why all these exchanges are starting their own IEO!
67  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin goes down, no new rich people anymore on: May 02, 2019, 09:12:53 AM
sorry that you lost a lot of money but it had nothing to do with bitcoin price going down. now you are lashing out.
the reason why you lost money was because you made bad investment decisions and was expecting the price to continue to shoot upwards and make you a millionaire overnight. well that is not what happens in reality. Wink

69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using multiple MatLab curve fittings on Bitcoin historical price data on: May 02, 2019, 08:36:29 AM
just like what i said by the end of 2017 about the drop i will repeat the same thing about the rise in 2019+ too. there is no reason to see the repetition of the same trends which means your charts don't have to be true at all. you are basically extrapolating data which is not the best indicator for the future price.
with that said we have seen the same thing be repeated as many investors back in 2017 started to believe that such repetitions exist! so they mostly forced the repetition of 2013 drop.
for this following rise the same thing can happen only if they force the same thing to happen!!! otherwise the market is so much bigger and is moving at a much faster pace. so it should take a lot less time to reach the $100k bubble this time.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin (BTC) Gaining Interest From Investors, VCs and Tech Companies on: May 02, 2019, 08:22:38 AM
bitcoin is constantly growing even when you see its price dropping in a bubble burst or a correction it is still growing as there is no way you could stop the adoption. but i don't see any reason to believe VCs and Tech Companies are showing any interest in bitcoin yet and the article doesn't provide any convincing evidence to change my mind either.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: JUST 1 TIP ON HOW TO AVOID STUPID PROJECTS JUST AFTER YOUR MONEY on: April 28, 2019, 09:52:08 AM
how about stop investing in anything that is asking for money BEFORE they even release anything. that covers all of these silly scam ICOs and IEOs and all the similar ones that exist or will exist in the future!!!

the thing is, in this market since it is unregulated you can't trust anybody to deliver anything. you should instead ask for deliverance of some "product" and then invest in that "product".
but as long as you are doing it in the opposite direction, when they receive their funds they no longer have any incentive to do any work anymore because they know there is no more money in it for them.
72  Economy / Speculation / Re: "RIP bear market" on: April 28, 2019, 09:35:48 AM
I also think the bear market has ended, and i think the price will continue have small grow all over the year and also i think we can have a bull run before next year bitcoin halving.

I couldn't fuly agree.  The price rise isn't showing continuous growth and there are always possibilities for corrections and price could go down again. For me this isn't a bull run yet and Bitcoin price still hasn't crossed the boundaries where we can say that bear market is definetely over.

a correction and price going down (like what has been happening in the past couple of days) does not mean it is a "bear market" it simply means it is a correction because of the fast and big rise that we had before that "drop" began.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The ugly side of Bitcoin on: April 28, 2019, 09:22:04 AM
that is not the ugly side of "bitcoin", i would go as far as saying it has nothing to do with bitcoin. it is all about the ugly side of the electric producing companies that have been producing it inefficiently and with lots of pollutions. bitcoin is just using what is offered to it by them. we can't change everything. we have revolutionized the concept of currency from being centralized to being decentralized, you can't expect us to also revolutionize the electricity production too!
74  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Price of alts when BTC pumps on: April 28, 2019, 09:06:40 AM
in short part of the reason is due to arbitrage trading and part of it is lack of faith in future of altcoins.

there has always been a common question asked around here about "how to earn bitcoin" and the answer to it has always been to trade altcoins (among other things). checking the volumes you can always see how people are trading altcoins with bitcoin a lot more than they do it with fiat or fiat looking tokens like tether.
this shows that everyone is aiming to increase their bitcoin holdings. that means when bitcoin is rising they all want to join that rise and benefit from it. and we are talking about traders here so they know where to go.

on top of all that it comes down to expecting it to happen.
when you KNOW that altcoins are getting dumped whenever bitcoin goes up, next time when you notice bitcoin price rise you go ahead and dump your altcoins to prevent loss. that means this trend will always exist and only get bigger as more people figure it out on time.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Lightning going to ensure Bitcoin dominance? on: April 28, 2019, 08:50:43 AM
bitcoin's dominance has always came from the utilities that it offers people all around the world without needing any kind of third party or middlemen. and also the fact that bitcoin has always been one of a kind. and this will continue to be the case. things like lightning network that are added to bitcoin are always going to help improve it even further. so yes but it is more like saying in a race that the first person is far far ahead that others don't see him anymore, what can ensure his win!
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I ForeSEE EVIL Coming TO ALL Bitcoin Communities!! (SOUND WARNING) on: April 28, 2019, 08:41:22 AM
the government regulations and all of their shenanigans have been all around us for many years, possibly even from day 1 that bitcoin (a new currency that wasn't controlled by them) was created. which makes it one of the oldest things around and it is not that "evil" and it definitely is not a reason for you to start panicking over it.
not to mention that not all regulations are bad! we have had pretty good regulations too. remember 2017 and how Japan adopted bitcoin  with open arms?
77  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN IS FALLING!! Is This The CORRECTION ! $850,000,000 LOST!!! on: April 27, 2019, 08:23:25 AM
first of all, welcome to bitcoin market dear newbie.

secondly open up a chart once in a while before starting a topic. i assure you that looking at charts benefits you a lot more than watching nonsense on Youtube and reading crap on Twitter,...

as it is obvious from the charts tiny drops like this one are one of the most common things that occur with the volatile bitcoin. even if price went down to $4800 it still wouldn't be a "fall" but a mere small correction and price is still pretty much above $5100!

and finally the number "$850,000,000" is pulled out of your behind because you were trying to include a big "scary" number Wink and is meaningless. what was "lost" was a 4% drop in price.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Loves Crypto? North Korea, That’s Who on: April 27, 2019, 08:17:20 AM
90% of this so called "article" is filled with prejudiced and racism and mostly tries to spread some sort of FUD about bitcoin. the fact is the usage of bitcoin for illicit activities is far more common in the rest of the world rather than in a country like North Korea.
funny it should mention Wannacry ransomware and not mention the fact that the "backdoor" which this virus is using was placed inside the closed source Microsoft Windows by NSA intentionally! Wink
79  Economy / Speculation / Re: "RIP bear market" on: April 26, 2019, 09:53:28 AM
it seems to me that the bitcoin market is filled with a lot of naive people which is why we keep seeing a lot of people who get stuck in a certain trend and think that should be the only trend till the end of time!

the bear market is over and they should accept it.

if you look at this board and many other social media you can see all of those who are still stuck in the long gone trend and are excited today because there is a tiny 5% correction thinking they were right to be stuck in that trend Cheesy
80  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't Fomo , 3800$ incoming ? on: April 26, 2019, 09:41:31 AM
I know most of you guys hate it when someone points out a bearish set-up , we all want lambos but facts must be stated.

nobody hates that ever. what people hate is seeing others stuck in a certain mindset and despite the changes in the market they refuse to accept it and still insist on going against the market which i think is pretty funny actually Cheesy

with that said at this point the only way price can go back down is if we see some serious drama in bitcoin like closure of Bitfinex for example which is highly unlikely. in other words that is not something you see or predict on a chart!
otherwise we will stick around above $5k and you have to only see $3xxx levels in your dreams....
