701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF, what is it really? on: August 21, 2018, 09:02:33 AM
Why ETF? Primarily, ETF does not require professional trading skills unlike others such as mutual funds. You need not be a professional trader. It has a low operating expenses with no investment minimums. Thus, everyone gets to invest on Bitcoin ETF easily.

i am no expert but this part doesn't sound right to me. since ETF is tied to bitcoin and even though the changes may differ but it still is the same thing and you still need to have trading skills to invest in ETF and be successful. the same swings will happen there too!
as for "no investment minimum", is it lower than directly investing in bitcoin? i seriously doubt it!

702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will other countries take advantage of China's ban on ICOs? on: August 21, 2018, 08:58:02 AM
I feel they should, sooner all later all these other countries are going to come back and embrace the concept.
What is needed is a way of moderating and filtering the ico market.

quite the opposite.
since so far in the past years and after thousands of ICOs, we still have not even seen one single proper one that does anything real or meaningful then i can say they all should be banned all around the world.
703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is nose Diving Hard! Its time to buy More or Sell? on: August 18, 2018, 09:15:52 AM
whenever we are in an altcion dumping season you should only buy IF you are a day trader. otherwise you should sell your bags of altcoin and stay out of the market for months, even a year until it reaches the bottom and gets rid of its bubble.
for example in case of ETH, the price is going down every day because it is in a long dumping season and buying the dips is only good for those who are day trading. for example you buy after price falls from $600 to $500 and then dump in the recovery to $520-$540 and wait for the next dump to $400 to buy back then $300 then $200 and then $100 and so on
704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH so popular on: August 18, 2018, 09:04:37 AM
don't confuse the hype that comes on with the pumps as a real popularity case because they are nothing alike. a pumping hype which etherum always has is a temporary thing which will vanish sooner or later (as you can see from the dump from $1500 down to $250) and that can kill any project. but a real popularity will never end in a 80%-90% decline in price because it is real.
705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Without ETF on: August 18, 2018, 08:45:24 AM
this question is so silly in my opinion because practically people who are asking it are forgetting that for more than 9 years bitcoin has existed and grown without ETF or anything like it. not to mention that bitcoin is designed to be a currency not an investment so Exchange Trading Funds is a silly notion for it to begin with.
706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is independent? or depends on fiat currency on: August 18, 2018, 08:34:20 AM
we are measuring it's value in dollars.

and what would you suggest we use to measure its value? it is the 21st century, we measure value of literary everything in fiat, those in US measure it in USD, those in Europe measure it in EUR, those in China measure it in CNY and ....

that doesn't mean it relies on fiat. would you like us to go back a thousand years and measure value of things like bitcoin in goods? like saying 50000 satoshi is equal to 1 chicken?
707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are the major alts aligning with Bitcon (price-wise). on: August 15, 2018, 09:00:40 AM
so far what i remember from the market is that each time bitcoin goes up or down we see blood on the streets of altcoin'estan.
during times like yesterday though they start moving on their own and although bitcoin doesn't move at all the alt coins continue declining altogether. so no i don't see them aligning with bitcoin. and the more they get dumped the less any sort of alignment they might have would be.
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is better for hodl? ETC or NEO? on: August 15, 2018, 08:44:25 AM
ETC was just listed and trading on coinbase. Comparing with NEO, which one is better for holding?

i don't really follow the altcoin news these days but if ETC was actually listed on Coinbase then there should be a pump already going on for this coin which you can use to profit. but only for short term.
so far it seems like ETC had a little rise like the rest of the altcoins, nothing major. maybe you need to check the source of your news.
709  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitmex and Bitfinex Funding Hedge and Why I see a $1000 rise today on: August 15, 2018, 08:23:21 AM
This is exactly what I would do,if I had 500 million USD to invest in cryptocurrencies...but I don't have 500M  Grin
Damn, most traders are like sheep. They see the prices doing down, they expect a price dump/bear trap and they start shorting. Why don't they just HODL.I'm not that familiar with shorting, but aren't there some big fees occuring ,if you short your cryptos?

many are already holding. it is not everyone who does these weird things in the market. and those who do are hoping to increase the amount of bitcoin they own by taking advantage of every small market fluctuations. many are newbies and lose because they fall for they FUD and the rest make profit from their mistakes...
710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The bitcoin dominance level is getting much closer to 50%. What does it mean? on: August 15, 2018, 08:14:49 AM
The price of BTC last year at this date of 8/14/17 was $4,145.44 on
Just an example of just how complete a 'bubble' the price was and a caution of what it still might go down to (bottom) before any recovery.

i don't understand how you come to this conclusion!
yes, price was something lower than this at some point and now it is higher but none of it says anything about any bubble!

and no, just because price was $4,145.44 a year ago it doesn't mean it still might go down to (bottom) before recovery.
it might drop for many other reasons but this is not one of them.

interesting thing is the fact that price was 4000 last year and now it is 6000 which is only about 40% higher shows that we are extremely underpriced because as a rule of thumb price usually goes up at least 100% per year. Cheesy
711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is 'useless as a payment mechanism and ridiculous as a store of value on: August 15, 2018, 08:03:00 AM
isn't this old news? i do realize that the shitty news sits are posting it now but the news itself (the quote) sounds quite old. i remember that Paypal CEO said this exact same thing a couple of months ago...

in other words it seems to me like news sites are running out of FUD to post during drops and are going back to re-posting the same stuff again Cheesy
712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when the price of Bitcoin falls below the cost of mining? on: August 15, 2018, 07:57:36 AM
you shouldn't really concern yourself with the cost of mining and the bitcoin price, some comments already explained why not so i won't repeat. the only thing that we do need to consider these days specially is the fact that people believe $6000 is the cost of mining and they also believe that price wouldn't fall below it because it will become impossible to mine. although wrong but this little belief makes $6000 even more stronger than before.
713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Cardano, $0.11 now, $10+ in the future on: August 12, 2018, 08:22:12 AM
but it is currently getting dumped since most of the altcoin market is getting dumped pretty hard these days! so in other words you are taking a huge risk with a high chance of losing money (like 90% price goes lower) if you buy at this point.

of course there is going to be a pump for all the altcoins including Cardano but now doesn't seem like that time.
714  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price LIVE:BTC in danger of dropping to $4,000 ... on: August 12, 2018, 08:17:11 AM
all i see here is that you are reporting a bunch of irrelevant data and then concluding that bitcoin is falling to $4000!
you might as well have said "today temperature dropped 3 degrees so bitcoin price should also fall because we have cooler days now"!
715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC shorts are entering the TRAP on: August 11, 2018, 09:50:03 AM
i am sorry to disappoint you but you seem to have confused bitcoin with one of the 2000 shitcoins out there that get "pumped". there is not going to be any pump.

as for the current price. it is just the ETF panic that is at its end as the weak hands have made their exit and the "rise" will only start when the ETF news comes to an end with SEC rejecting or approving it OR if people start pulling their heads out of their behinds. Wink
716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the mission of crypto? on: August 11, 2018, 09:44:59 AM
the main mission or at least the ideals have been to have a decentralized payment system that the government and banks can not control and/or corrupt, censor,...
but the reality of it has turned into a money making machine where whales earn money from the newbies by pump and dumping altcoins.
717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please Explain on: August 11, 2018, 09:23:37 AM
If you really trust this technology why are you losing your hope everytime there is  a small storm coming on bitcoin? Panicking makes you blind on what you really need to do, Instead of investing more because it is a good opportunity to buy you are selling your bitcoin's and taking your loss.  Cheesy

You only need to read a random thread in Bitcoin or Altcoin discussion to know the majority of people involved in crypto do not have the patience to be here. People who have never had a real job or any real world responsibility, looking for instant returns on some scam ICO, or buying one week and panic selling the next. You think Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, Google were built in a week, a month or even a year?

Day traders are obviously a different story, but they are the minority.

topics and comments are the forum do not represent the majority and you certainly can't make a conclusion based on them. most of these topics are from people who don't even hold any kind of cryptocurrency. they spam the forum for payment and dump it all for fiat immediately in their exchanges where they receive the payment. specially when you go to altcoin boards they are just bounty hunting for free money.

the real investors (the majority) aren't wasting their time on those silly topics.
718  Economy / Speculation / Re: GAME OVER Bitcoin on: August 11, 2018, 09:13:47 AM
Do you think it's a GAME OVER?

yes, it is game over.
this decentralized currency that has only relied on the decentralized network of peer and nothing else is going to die because the centralized security exchange in US denied exchange trading funds. we are now burying bitcoin since its price has fallen 99% in the past five minutes and it is close to 0 now. /s
719  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN DOMINANCE, HOW FAR WILL IT BE? on: August 11, 2018, 09:06:29 AM
it goes up and down like that because it is not bitcoin dominance.

and as long as there are altcoins with 100 million, to 100 billion coins in circulation among the calculations of "dominance" it will remain a useless characteristics to look at.
720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reason Behind Bitcoin’s Price Crash Revealed on: August 11, 2018, 08:58:35 AM
but this h as not changed ever since IRS put forth clear rules back in 2014 and not to mention that the tax deadline thing was a couple of months ago. it had nothing to do with now.

on top of all that you are missing the important point that bitcoin is a global currency with markets as big and some even bigger than the market in US!
