261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the end near for ripple ? on: February 16, 2019, 11:02:21 AM
shitcoins are all going to end, centralized shitcoins on the other hand will resist their inevitable end. that is why coins such as ripple are staying around for a much longer time that they are supposed to. mainly it is the centralized money that is being injected into their systems to keep them alive while their pump and dumps and premines are sustaining the profit for them.
262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you buy National Lottery tickets with Bitcoin in your country? on: February 16, 2019, 10:50:28 AM
i find lotteries the worst thing that someone can spend his money on. there are lots of ways to gamble your money away and lottery is not one of them. and when it comes to buying its tickets with bitcoin that would be like throwing away something extremely valuable to get something worthless in return with a tiny chance of making some money from it!
263  Economy / Speculation / Re: POLL: Did we hit the bottom? on: February 16, 2019, 10:38:08 AM
That's why I can't easily accept this thought myself, i.e. Bitcoin becoming a genuine store of value (in a big way)

that simply is never going to happen. that is just absurd.

the "store of value" campaign started a year ago when fees were extremely high and people wanted to deny the fact that bitcoin stopped being a currency because of the high fees and that is the only thing bitcoin is designed for.
so people are only going to ever buy bitcoin either as an investment to make profit or as a currency to enjoy the decentralization. nothing else matters.
264  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: TIPS TO BE A SUCCESSFUL CRYPTOCURRENCY TRADER on: February 16, 2019, 10:31:57 AM
you don't need any tips to be a successful trader, there is no magical solution out there. the only thing that can make someone successful in trading cryptocurrencies is having experience and that can not be gained by reading some tips from others. people have to start trading themselves to learn how it works specially to become familiar with the pump and dump show that is going on in the altcoin market.
265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Community Is Now Dominated by Speculators Not Criminals!! on: February 16, 2019, 10:24:52 AM
I agree with this one. There are a lot of cryptocurrencies that surpasses Bitcoin when it comes to speed, usability, and anonymity. I heard that they mostly use doge coin and monero now because they can't trace. Although Bitcoin is pretty famous around, it wasn't really completely anonymous.

unfortunately you are misinformed. first of all there is no difference between coins such as Doge and bitcoin, they are similarly at the same level of anonymity or lack thereof. (monero is different).
secondly there are no other cryptocurrency that is surpassing bitcoin on all counts. there are some that are faster for instance but that higher speed is sacrificing at least a dozen other things and has introduced lots of weaknesses.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized vs centralized cryptocurrency exchanges, which one is better? on: February 15, 2019, 10:18:59 AM
Centralized exchange is against cryptography.

it has nothing to do with cryptography to be for it or against it.

centralized exchanges are simply special services that you have the option to use because they offer certain benefits that decentralized exchanges don't.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC for $25 worth of XLM? on: February 15, 2019, 09:52:20 AM
if we were living in a world where the market was truly regulated and if these services were actually trusted and we could sleep safe knowing they are responsible people who aren't going to abuse our personal information then i might have thought about doing it even if the amount was pretty small.

but it is nothing like that. the market is horrible, it is not regulated and the people who are in it (specially these centralized altcoins like XLM and services such as blockchain) are not to be trusted at all.
268  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there a future for BTC anymore? on: February 15, 2019, 09:45:07 AM
whenever i see this types of topics with a lot of desperation for price rise from newbies i always become very happy because they signal the end of the bear market.
for instance last time this happened was during the 2015 bear market where price was similar to these days and was stuck. many people were asking the exact same question as OP is asking. Wink
269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many BTC Satoshi Nakamoto own? on: February 15, 2019, 09:33:34 AM
I think it is only rumors and no one really knows the exact amount of Bitcoin that Satoshi Nakamoto has, that one million prices of Bitcoin is only a rumor and there is no solid proof about that. I guess most of the people think that he owns a lot of Bitcoin it could be true or not and he is the only one who knows about that information.

it is not rumor, it is an estimation which is more like a guess. there is a difference between the two. a rumor is usually bullshit and doesn't have any facts behind it but an estimation is based on at least some facts.

of course there is no solid proof since bitcoin provides a good level of privacy although it is not anonymous but the estimation is based on some facts such as the time he was mining solo and the interactions he had and some other things that you can read in those links.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Block Explorer on: February 15, 2019, 09:24:20 AM
it is impossible to do as asriloni said above but also because it means keeping a gigantic database of each coin that you can call and see your balance. not to mention that altcoins die often so if you decide to keep a long list of them then you have to check every day to see which one is dead to remove that and see what new shitcoin was created to add that!

from my bookmarks i have chainz.cryptoid.info which had quite a lot of altcoins. check it out.
271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unelectric Bitcoin Society on: February 15, 2019, 09:10:15 AM
just having an idea that looks "Kool" is not enough unless you are just having fun and don't care about practicality of what you are suggesting. otherwise the idea first of all has to be secure. for example what we are seeing these days in the news sites copying news from each other is not safe at all because it is sending the private keys to someone else and it can be hacked in the rout to the receiver or the sender can still spend the coins since he would continue owning the key.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No one is using dapps on: February 13, 2019, 10:10:47 AM
it is funny to see this topic after another topic that i saw in this board a while ago saying how DApps are being used every day and was trying to hype up some of these platform tokens for his own benefit.
and both are wrong, DApps can be very useful, in fact the idea of it is one of the best things that has been created lately but so far their only usage has been for pump and dumps. which is possibly why OP is saying they aren't used.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The growth of the crypto market. on: February 13, 2019, 09:52:45 AM
not really.
i was hoping for a better growth in 2017 but unfortunately we only see an overly excited market which was filled mostly with newbies who wanted to make  a quick profit and on top of that it was filled with lots of scammers hiding behind terms such as ICO who were taking their money.
this unfortunately is not considered "growth". it is a temporary bubble that bursts and that is exactly what happened in 2018 and is still happening as that same money is exiting after about 85% to 95% loss.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does PoW add value to masternode coins? on: February 13, 2019, 09:42:31 AM
mining algorithm that altcoins use is not the main factor that determines value of the coins. the utilities of the said coin is going to determine how much value does that altcoin have and how it should continue to be like in the future.
for example a coin with no usage and only a masternode that gives passive profit is doomed to fail and die eventually because at some point another useless coin will come along that gives more profit and all the masternode owners give it up to go to that new coin.
275  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where do you expect Bitcoin to "settle" once the market is mature? on: February 13, 2019, 09:33:27 AM
all we need is a bigger market so it can't be manipulated as easily and also a balance between supply and demand which we can reach when bitcoin adoption is at a high percentage.
Manipulation isn't that big of a deal as long as it happens within a range we won't be noticing while conducting our day to day transactions. Gold is just as easily being manipulated still, but the range within this happens is very tight.

that is also what i had in mind. with bigger market we will no longer see a 50% drop in a short time (like from $6000+ to $3000+) just because some FUD was spread in the community creating panic among traders about the imminent dump of some imaginary large amount of bitcoin on the market.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This guy says crypto ruined his life but he spent it on a high risk lifestyle on: February 13, 2019, 09:21:48 AM
this story and the likes of it will only work outside of crypto community. otherwise for all of us who have been around for at least a month and bothered enough to check out how the market works, we already know how things are in this market. and it is clear as day to us that this guy is a gambler and has lost money to gambling not because of cryptocurrencies. he might have as well ruined his life in Las Vegas!
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can REGULATION Really Be Beneficial to Bitcoin? on: February 13, 2019, 09:11:57 AM
I've read this somewhere; The currencies that succeed, are not those that circumvent the state, but rather those that are legitimised by the state.

this is the banksters mentality trying to force it on others and trying to convince everyone that if things aren't controlled by them, then they should automatically fail.

but 10 years of bitcoin history and decentralization without regulation or government intervention has already proved that we do not need them or their regulations.

the thing is THEY have to adapt with bitcoin not the other way around. so their regulations should comply with bitcoin not bitcoin comply with their regulations.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: :-> Bitcoin are helping to reduce global debt. :-> on: February 13, 2019, 09:00:41 AM
anything that can cut the tyranny of the corrupted banks shorter can also be doing dozens of good things to the global economy and a part of that is the global debt . i haven't actually thought about it the way OP explained but that is an interesting thing to consider. i believe in a few years we are going to see a much better economy as the control of the banks reduces thanks to bitcoin and decentralization.
279  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where do you expect Bitcoin to "settle" once the market is mature? on: February 10, 2019, 10:05:22 AM
Eventually if bitcoin is adopted by the world its volatility will tick way down and it's market will mature. Look at gold it is fairly settled between in the 1200 - 1400 range for the past about 6 years now. Where do you think that point is for Bitcoin? Not saying it won't occasionally have big movements, but outside of some big economic event that causes a big price movement where do you think it will settle?

I'm thinking in the $300k/$400k range.

What if the bitcoin market never becomes "mature".I think the btc price volatility will always remain high, because of the deflationary,"limited supply" nature of bitcoin. The BTC market will always move from price bubbles to price crashes in the long run.

that is inevitable because the growth can reach a final stage where it slows down significantly until becomes negligible. that stage is also known as mass adoption. the point is, all we need is a bigger market so it can't be manipulated as easily and also a balance between supply and demand which we can reach when bitcoin adoption is at a high percentage.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin SV an Altcoin? What do you know or think about? on: February 10, 2019, 09:51:47 AM
Do not post comments like "Shitcoin blah blah blub" it is wasted time for you and others. Off topic, words are liar, hater, scam, fake and bullshit

you don't want to hear it but that is the truth so you will keep hearing it. BSV is a shitcoin!

A) I want to know what is on your mind about BSV
B) I want to know the pro and cons you discovered for your self

A) it is a useless copycat. basically any project that forks another project and changes minimal meaningless attributes that don't make a difference is considered a copycat and a worthless shitcoin. specially when they know from start that their coin is garbage so much that they have to abuse the brand of another coin (bitcoin in this case) and get some publicity like a parasite....
and that my friend makes it a shitcoin

B) there is no pros. only cons. and cons as in scammers.
this coin was created purely to make money. they basically doubled the amount of coins they had, added some other revenue for themselves with pump and dumps and other services such as their sale of ASICs and their pool fees they take. and also the scams that the people behind it (mainly Wright) is making them more money.
this coin is not created as a cryptocurrency to implement the blockchain technology in a different way like what legit projects do. it is created to scam people and make money.
