61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you quit gambling for a friend? on: February 14, 2024, 05:25:27 PM
His own money, his own rules. Why should you be all concerned about where he spends his salary? It's PRIVATE. I found it uncomfortable if people around me, even though they were my friends, were monitoring where my salary went but on the other hand, I'm a responsible person outside of gambling.

The story is not complete and only focuses on how that person spends the money. We should also know not only about how the money is used by that person but also how he is when not gambling. What if he keeps on being a responsible person for their family despite spending money on gambling? What if he can still cover his usual obligations like monthly bills even with a gambling activity?

As a response to the thread's main topic, NO I WILL NOT ADJUST AND GIVE UP MY GAMBLING HABIT FOR THE SAKE OF MY FRIEND. Why should I?
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How my gambling life started. on: February 14, 2024, 05:15:26 PM
I'm amazed that there are people who remember truly how their gambling life started. Surely most of the gamblers didn't even know how they became involved in gambling. As in my case, since my childhood I've been involved in gambling in different forms which only started as a fun game then eventually while growing up, now involved with high stakes and real money.

It's not wrong to do gambling even though we have been doing it for several years.  As long as we keep ourselves always responsible for our actions, without harming people around us or becoming changing into a worst person, then we are good to just continue.
63  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do coaches get sacked over poor performance of players? on: February 09, 2024, 11:59:56 PM
I have followed various sporting activities and I noticed something that hardly make complete sense to me and that is the rationale behind firing a coach when the players do perform poorly. What drew my attention to this is a news flash about Jose Mourinho's case in Roma. According to the article, Mourinho left Roma angry and feeling betrayed by the players. Is it even possible that players will intentionally lose matches because they want their coach out at the expense of their own careers? If this is true, why will the club management reprimand the coach and not the players? I know some people will argue that the coach is the leader of the team and should be responsible for building the unity and love the team need to play in high morale, but in a case the players happen to have hated the coach and have decided to lose matches as punishment for their coach, is it right to fire the coach?

That was crazy. I believe professional players will not intentionally lose a game just for their coach to be put at risks  There are lots of ways for their coach to be fired and the best way is to voice out their complaint to the management. In professional leagues, it's a big violation if the team purposely lose the match. It's unprofessional.

What if that game is very important and these players will try to lose that game? It's was the same as game fixing and rigging the match.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taking a break in gambling on: February 09, 2024, 11:59:05 PM
How do you guys manage to take a break in gambling? I’m not asking for advice but rather I’m just interested to know what you are doing on your own or if you really do a break.

I only managed to take a break if I don't have money left to gamble lol. That's the only time I will be able to stop because nothing I can do.

When monthly due now came, I can't found a way to gamble because I need to settle my bills first.

After a week, I do now have some extra, chances of returning to gambling will now be commenced. Smiley
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you beleive in the concept of "Luck"? on: February 07, 2024, 11:34:06 PM
  • Do you believe in Luck? If so, how do you describe your perception of this concept?
  • How lucky do you think you are from 1 to 10?
  • Does your sense of luck in regular life correlate with your luck in gambling?
  • Do you believe that some special things or actions can increase your luck?

1. Yes I believed in luck. Especially playing luck-based games, there's no other explanation for why I win but just pure luck.

2. It's something I can't measure or rate. 10 if luck always comes, and 1 if I lose that session lol.

3. No. There's no connection to that. Just play and rely on your luck to come.

4. Yes. There might be an algorithm that slots follow. The reason why high bet amount do have difficulties to win compare small bets.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This was my highest risk. on: February 07, 2024, 11:26:25 PM
Good thing that the risk you take is worth it in return. Might be a different story now if the bet wasn't hit.

I already did the same thing before although not with the same figures. The feeling was intense and after a win, what an experience.

I also agree with the idea that if we are not ready to face the risks, then we can't hit that big win. There was no safe bet in the first place.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever introduced an elder gambler to online betting? on: February 07, 2024, 11:14:33 PM
I found it awkward to introduce someone to gambling if, in the first place, I knew to myself that the person was already a gambler.

Can we just allow these elderly people to do their current usual activity rather than introduce them to gambling?

They might now have graduated from doing that and just want to enjoy other things at their age. If you try to get them back again in gambling, they might end up in an unusual behavior that they can't probably control due to their current old age. It's not healthy.
68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent have you hated yourself due to your gambling losses? on: February 02, 2024, 10:52:28 PM
In your entire gambling journey, have you ever had a series of losses to the extent you hated yourself so much for being so unlucky?

If there's a gambler who ends up thinking like that, better find another hobby as gambling is not for them.

To the point that a gambler hates themselves because of being unlucky in gambling, their minds are not properly working anymore.

I have experienced several big losses in my entire gambling journey but have not ended up thinking like that.
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you invest on this kind of offer? on: February 02, 2024, 10:41:23 PM
PS: This is not real bankroll offer but just a hypothetical idea just to know if the community will like this kind of offer. This is only possible for user that has good reputation since trust is the main issue here. This method might help someone who regularly loan for gambling to stop paying loan interest in exchange of profit sharing.

Even if a reputable member will offer that, I will not participate in it.

We are talking about gambling here and no gambler can withstand the losing scenario in gambling even if there's an offer of a refund. But in reality, I don't think someone will offer a full refund in case of loss as what's the point of that offer?

There's no assurance that everything will be smooth. Profit sharing is good to here but this is gambling.
70  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling for fun vs gambling for the financial benefit. on: February 01, 2024, 05:17:31 PM
The aim is for someone to be more open in facing the risks generated by gambling itself because gambling is actually an activity or activities that can destroy everything if you are not responsible.

But for a gambler to become responsible, they need to be destroyed first. What I mean is, mentally.

Under any circumstances, if a gambler suffers the worst defeat and huge losses in their gambling activity, the challenge to get back to their usual mentality will be hard. If that gambler were able to survive all the problems, difficulties, and challenges, that would make them a responsible gambler the next time they will push again to attempt a big win doing gambling.
71  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You can not win if you do not risk on: February 01, 2024, 05:06:58 PM
... but the truth is that as long as you stake on bet you have already risk your money, be it big or small.

How can you even win in return if you don't risk your money?

I don't know what you are trying to imply here but obviously "once you stake something, it's now at risk". I'm confused or maybe you can correct me. I even refer to prior words and statements but still, what you said is already an obvious one.

I thought the topic was all about, the more the risks, the higher the possible return.
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You will do in this situation? on: February 01, 2024, 03:49:09 PM
If you were in this situation, what would you do? Introduce him to sports betting or let him stick to playing slots. Yesterday, I just let it go but we still often meet at other activities.

The only option is to just introduce him to sports betting. Let him play slots as that was his preferred.

Not because he has some knowledge in sports, it means he will have good progress in sports betting. Analyzing the game is fairly simple but on the betting part, that's where it became difficult. But if he focused though, practice makes everything smooth. Soon, he will step on sports betting. Maybe as of now, he is currently experiencing a regular Scatter and Free Spins playing at slots. Cheesy
73  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Viewpoint of a fan gambling on: February 01, 2024, 03:31:51 PM
I want to find out if there are individuals like me. What percentage of the gamblers in Bitcointalk are wagering and not wagering to their dearest star player, club and team?

Depends on the odds. Even if I'm a hardcore fan of some players or teams, if the odds are not worth placing a bet, I'd rather skip betting.

Especially in Moneyline, you can always expect that most of the time, your favorite team is mostly listed as Favorites.

Because of that, I will end up betting instead on other betting options such as in basketball, I prefer betting mostly at Over/Under and Series matches.
74  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rigging in sports:My Personal Perspective and discussion finding sus. sports on: February 01, 2024, 03:20:53 PM
I'm not truly a fan of believing that rigging in sports does happen a lot, especially to the "LEAGUES"  today that most people are following.

As a sports bettor for a long, at least you know where should you place a bet that is likely not a messed up match.

Besides, rigged or not, we as a bettor that don't have inside stuffs will still rely on odds given by the bookies if that's worth placing a bet.

75  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When I'm emotional, I LOSS! on: January 31, 2024, 11:42:27 PM
That's why I shared it here; I feel that some of you may experience the same challenges, and I'd love to hear your ideas or experiences on how to win this battle so we can enjoy gambling.

There is no other way but to take over on yourself as calmly as you can during a losing streak.

I also feel the same way and my adrenaline is boosted whenever I'm losing and because of that, I will increase my bet out of desperation. Actually, not just in losing, but also when winning streak, my emotion is telling me to increase my bet since I'm currently luck. Being emotional is just normal when playing gambling. It's just a matter of how we will able to control it without interrupting our focus.
76  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not everyone deserves to hear of your winning in gambling. on: January 31, 2024, 11:30:35 PM
Be careful who and where you talk about your success in gambling, you may just be encouraging an addicted gambler to continue.

Can't believe we should be careful about that? Cheesy

I'm free to do what I want. If I want to talk about my success in gambling or share my big winning experience, I will just do it. Where should the adjustment should come from? From the one who told the story, the listeners, or both? As if we know everyone's feelings before telling them the story. In that case, the listener should do their best not to be affected by any winning story, or if someone is already discussing that experience, make some ways to end or shift the discussions into something else. Either side should adjust as not all have the same thoughts.
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The scam of FAKE fixed matches on: January 31, 2024, 11:16:05 PM
As a part of the gambling industry ecosystem as a whole, scam sites like that have already been part of it since then. They are everywhere.

What I'm more concerned about is how some people believe in that kind of scheme. Fixed matches might be occurring in some leagues across the sports industry but the point is, are there people who really trust a random prediction from anyone and even put a bet on it?

Scammers won't end because there are people who are feeding them. It's like an endless cycle.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling for fun vs gambling for the financial benefit. on: January 26, 2024, 08:01:21 PM
Do you really see gambling as more of fun than a means to a financial end?

Gambling should not be treated for fun purposes or means to end the financial crisis.

In a much simpler context, you will need to take risks in gambling hoping and expecting a preferred result. Therefore only by chance to get that desired result. What needs to be put at risk? Our Money, cash, anything valuable, etc. Just for the sake of fun, we will risk our money? On the part of treating gambling to end financial problems, they will use the left money to gamble. Can't imagine what will happened if all those money will be wrecked in the process.

79  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the definition of a Gambler? Do you consider yourself as a Gambler? on: January 26, 2024, 07:33:11 PM
What do you think about yourself and how do you want to define the word Gambler?

In my personal view, a person will reach the status level of being called a gambler if gambling becomes a regular habit now. We can't just simply call a newbie or first-timer entering the gambling world a gambler already for an obvious reason that it's not appropriate to hear. We can call them newbie gamblers instead to properly categorize them separately from the experienced ones.

The other term that can also be classified as a gambler is bettor which is a common term in sports betting.
80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Older men vs Younger boys in gambling, Which enjoys Gambling for fun the more? on: January 26, 2024, 07:16:53 PM
I found old people enjoy gambling more because they are now at a point in their lives where they are not focused and concerned anymore about the overall financial aspect of their family especially if the said family does have lots of well-established and successful people.

Nothing to do anymore seriously like the need to go to the office or report to work in the morning, managing their own business and investments every day, always thinking about how to settle their regular payment obligations, etc. - no more headaches.

And now at 60 years old, they just enjoy things and if that old guy is a gambler, he will just continue to do it until not capable anymore.
