61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: February 14, 2024, 06:12:58 PM
I got into gambling only for my entertainment and nothing else especially I never got into gambling to make money. So in my case there is no hard reality to face to get rid of gambling. I got into gambling just for fun and I can stop gambling at any moment. I have always considered myself mentally prepared and any time I will abstain from gambling forever. Especially I devote my alone time to gambling and other times I spend all my time on my personal work. Many people get addicted to gambling in such a way that they cannot come out easily but if they can control themselves mentally then it will not be difficult for them to stop gambling.
I have exactly the same position, I rarely play lately because I don’t have enough time for it. I prefer betting on sports, especially boxing, I have several favorite boxers and since they rarely bet on my favorite champion several times a year. Sometimes I also bet on football, but this can only happen if we are watching a match in the company of friends and someone there will also bet, then the viewing will be a little more interesting.I have no thirst for the game because I have very little free time to get completely involved in it all.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STOP telling people how much Bitcoin you have on: February 14, 2024, 01:16:53 PM
Of all the secrets I have, it's probably the secret of how many bitcoins I have. Sharing the amount of bitcoins I have with others is not likely to benefit me but if I share it with others they may try to harm me so why would I share this secret of mine with others. You should not share your bank account and how much Bitcoin you have with anyone. Rather, you should present yourself to the people you walk with in such a way that they find you very simple. Whenever other people know details about you then they will start envying you and in envy they will try to harm you. It will be seen that while trying to harm, those people are doing great harm to you, but nothing bad will remain. So you should be aware of these things in advance.
"Gentlemen don't talk about money"
In my circle of friends, it is not customary to talk about money and savings. The conversation can be abstract without mentioning exact amounts. Since discussing exact numbers can cause envy or anger and we don’t need this, this is a rule.According to my observations, those who don’t have it most often talk about money, and in this way they want to add more respect and importance to themselves. It’s also about crypto, my friends know that I have it, but how much and what they don’t know either not interesting.
63  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler lost what he couldn't afford to lost and broke his TV after game Lost on: February 13, 2024, 09:32:07 PM
That's nothing strange in my circles!

I've seen folks smash their TVs after their team chokes in a big game.  They ain't even got money on it! The difference is they got cash to burn so they just buy another flatscreen right after.  Probably an upgrade over the busted one and  i knew this guy who put his fist through the screen when his squad lost in the finals - had a cast on for weeks but you better believe he had a new TV delivered that same day.  Yeah, fandom makes you crazy sometimes.

he he I also know such a person, he is a big fan of e-sports and in my memory he destroyed several monitors and the same number of keyboards. What is remarkable in life is that he is the most calm person, he has a job,a wife and children. But as soon as it comes to tournaments and there are bets During the events, a completely different person inhabits him and it looks very strange. This is a hobby for a person, what can he do?)
Such outbursts happen once a year for sure, perhaps in this way he splashes out his anger that has been accumulating throughout the year.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How my gambling life started. on: February 13, 2024, 05:48:16 PM
Notice how many have started their gambling life with card games and got familiar with it in childhood. Not slots, where gambler only hit one button and wait, not roulette, where you simply try to guess the number. But cards, which are more complicated, as they require a bit of math knowledge. Why is it so? I would tell because card games train memory, math (counting quick till 21), is that boring. And this totally does not go together with “never gamble in front of kids”  Grin
I had exactly the same childhood as you described, I also played cards at a very young age with children like me. In the family, card games were not something forbidden since there were no games for money, but in adulthood, games began It is carried out only with money to make it more interesting to spend time.Modern children have different gambling habits, now almost every game both on the PC and on the phone has a donation function, they now have a whole playing field. Plus, advertising of bookmakers at every step will sooner or later do the trick.
65  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hey! it's $50k today. on: February 13, 2024, 02:49:40 PM
As a crypto lover, I really welcome the current increase in BTC and it has reached 50K, but I am still not too optimistic about whether the price will continue to rise and it is even possible that there will be a correction again after the recent increase. It's still fresh in our memories when the Bitcoin Spot ETF was accepted, the BTC price immediately went up high after just a few days and immediately dropped again.
I think everyone supports it (except for those who did not have time to buy before the price rose). The expected correction has already begun and the price is already 49k, but this does not greatly affect the general mood of traders. What is more important is that the price of 50k was successfully tested and there was an understanding that this is possible this season and this is a good result before the halving. If the same positive dynamics continue, the price may be even higher, which will be very beneficial for those who did not sell during the price correction.
66  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to buy BTC NOW? on: February 12, 2024, 04:34:34 PM
For those who haven't bought bitcoins, it's always a good time to buy bitcoins. Most investors believe that Bitcoin will cross $100k in the near future. I also believe that I have invested and held the amount of my local currency that I had in Bitcoin. But the market is now undergoing a correction and in a few days the market may give a dump but the marketIt probably won't go below $40,000. But it would be wise to invest in Bitcoin before the market crosses fifty thousand. But for those investors who have not invested in Bitcoin till now, now is the right time to invest in Bitcoin.
It doesn’t look much like there will be a dump yet. There is already a breakout above $49,000. Yes, logically there should be a correction in the near future, but it will happen after the rate moves to one place for at least two days. Now all the media will write about the fact that Bitcoin has started to grow and wait for at least 50k and this hype will be very helpful. Even if there is a correction, it is unlikely that it will go to 40k since the support level will be higher + preparation for halving.
67  Economy / Speculation / Re: Going against the grain. on: February 12, 2024, 12:09:27 PM
Everyone has their own strategy for taking profits, you choose to put yourself in a trader's position, which is very good for securing profits in the short term. When the market is surging, long-term investing is more profitable than selling just to secure a small profit. It takes a long time to wait for the price to fall again as you would like if the market is in an upward position. Hold is better than selling just to take a little profit, you will get bigger profits if you are able to be patient a little longer.
And this is true. Everyone, of course, can do what is more convenient for him, but I don’t see now a reason to sell even part of it, since I simply don’t see any point in this, everything is very interesting only in the future, at least the halving will have its effect, so hurry up definitely not where to go, but the most profitable situation is to continue strengthening your portfolio and wait for stronger growth.
68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you quit gambling for a friend? on: February 11, 2024, 05:37:06 PM
Would you do the same for a friend? Me personally I think I would have just confronted such a friend and told them to seek help instead of me altering my lifestyle for his benefit. If they didn't seek help to the point that it was affecting me I would've just stopped hanging out with them silently I think. A friend would've had to be a real good one to make an exception at least.
If a similar problem happened to my group of friends, we would definitely have to take a break from our games of poker and gambling. The second stage is to provide professional help for our friend until he returns to his previous state and overcomes this problem. If the adaptation period had taken more than six months, we would have continued to play, but in secret from our friend so as not to provoke him, and we would have kept our games secret. It seems to me that friends should meet and help their friends who find themselves in such a situation.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Psychology of Investing in Bitcoin on: February 10, 2024, 08:24:24 PM
Im in crypto for several years and already don't feel anything from it expept really big moves. So, i just dcaing in ownr without emotions, nothing intresting
oh, I understand you. It’s exactly the same for me, literally in the first years my mood was often associated with the price of Bitcoin, since you’re always worried that it’s rising or falling, but after so many years it became somehow all the same, since practice has shown that the longer you hold the greater the profit over the long term.
70  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to buy BTC NOW? on: February 10, 2024, 04:30:50 PM
Yeah, It's a silent time to hold Bitcoin. Now Bitcoin Price is upfront. I hope this season its price will go up by 1 million dollars. It will be beneficial for Bitcoin-loving people. Also, it will be a great chance to buy Bitcoin for new investors. Alts coin also bumping but Bitcoin is safe for investment. Today the price of Bitcoin is $47,200. It's not a poor value but upfront from this value. So, I can say today is the best time for investing in Bitcoin.
Be more realistic, many people dream of 1 million but have little understanding of how exactly this should happen. It just won’t cost that much, if we are now at a price of 47-48, then we need to at least hold it. And up to a million x20 we need to do it where to get so much money to add it to the price? be realistic, what is happening now is already a good result, but it could be even better.
71  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Selling a property to play gamble on: February 10, 2024, 12:59:45 PM
Firstly I must say this is a topic I believe is quite rare but still happens. Upon seeing the topic of this post it is logical and easy to say such a person is either an irresponsible gambler or an addict or even both. Gambling is supposed to be a fun activity but it seems some people have actually taken it to be more than that which is very wrong.
Going out of your way just to stake or make gambling bets is an unhealthy practice as people are advised to gamble responsibly by staking what they can afford to lose. The reason why people stake beyond their pockets is because they have their judgement clouded their ability to recognize that they could possibly lose it all.
There are a lot of factors that can bring sad consequences. Greed and lack of critical thinking will definitely lead to large losses and the desire to win back lost money, I already wrote in this thread about my former friend who took valuables out of the house to play. If games or bets don’t pay pleasure, but there is only a desire to earn more money, then it’s definitely not worth doing it, and it’s important to have finances for it, if you don’t have them, it’s better not to do it so as not to run into problems.
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investment in gambling on: February 09, 2024, 07:41:35 PM
Gambling is not the right place for investing, I don't ever consider the money I budget for gambling to be an investment. Wherever I invest I have an expectation that I will get a good return from that investment. But in gambling one can never expect that. Because gambling is more about losing than winning. So putting money in gambling can never be thought of as anything other than entertainment. Even then, if a person succumbs to greed, considers gambling as an investment and invests. I think that would be the biggest mistake for that person. So every person should consider gambling as a hobby rather than an investment.
this is 100% not an investment. The author in the starting post invested in some kind of hype project with a ponzy scheme and talks about the excitement that makes you want to make more profit. Previously, dice on trx were popular and there were game tokens in which they invested and part of the profit from the casino went as dividends on this token. Quite an interesting model for investing in the gambling industry, I don’t know if there is anything similar now.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please stop asking for "legal tender status" on: February 08, 2024, 02:17:11 PM
So please stop asking for government help in proliferating Bitcoin by forcing people to accept something they don't want to accept.

And concede that Bitcoin is already legal for the most part, and governments at this point are not meaningfully "holding it back".

I don’t see or hear that anyone en masse asked the government to accept this as legal tender. Bitcoin was originally conceived for precisely a different reason, from user to user with its own internal market, bypassing banks and other financial elements.
At the moment, I have enough of everyone functions and I can easily exchange crypto for fiat money in my country, without notifying the government. Yes, they are trying to regulate everything and propose a legislative framework, but to be honest, this worries me very little for many years, I somehow managed without them.
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong Moves With Your Bitcoin on: February 07, 2024, 03:05:44 PM
I made a big mistake in the past. Whenever the Bitcoin price went down, I used to sell my holdings immediately, hoping to buy them back at a lower price. But this strategy didn't work for me and I ended up losing money. It became frustrating, so I stopped holding Bitcoin altogether. Unfortunately, I missed out on the big price increase that happened later.
I think this is one of the most common situations, we have all been there and this is absolutely normal because when we start our journey we don’t know much. Now the best strategy is accumulation because in the long run it is always more profitable than waiting for drops and buying cheaper.
Holders who have been holding their funds for years are already in good profit, but this does not work with many altcoins as they lose value faster and are more dependent on the market and news and are more suitable for traders to quickly take profits.
75  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Selling a property to play gamble on: February 07, 2024, 12:54:33 PM
Have you ever sold a property to play gamble and afterwards finds it difficult to replace that same property again?
I didn’t have to sell anything for the game. But I had a good friend who was very “carried away” by gambling and began to get into debt and little by little take valuables out of his house and then from his parents’ house. It all ended very badly, he quarreled with everyone and lost respect for himself and as a result, after several years of an ugly life, he moved to another country and started everything from scratch. We no longer communicate from that moment. This was for me an example of how an excessive uncontrolled desire to play and win back can end and how it then it develops into addiction.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's stupidity to have thousands in Bitcoin using a software wallet on: February 07, 2024, 11:29:48 AM
Bitcoin business environment is very wide and we keep learning everyday as technology is keep advising, Hence when it comes hardware wallet and software wallet, one carries device and the other one is online wallet as the case may be, all is determined by individual understanding and as of me, I prefer using software wallet, I mean online wallet, because is very easy for me for a transaction and always secure my phase code and private key safe. Than using external device to safe my Bitcoin and other alt-coins.
That's right, each user uses applications or a hardware wallet at his own discretion. I agree with the thesis that for small amounts there is no point in buying any devices since this simply makes no sense and will not be profitable. For longer storage and large sums, a hardware wallet will be a good solution, since the risk of hacking will be minimal; only the probability of losing this wallet will be.
77  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who is buying like me on: February 06, 2024, 09:08:55 PM
wasn't it buy the rumors and sell the news events? I think the news has been sold and now the time for consolidation for bitcoin. IMO bitcoin will not start moving upward before the halving and even after the halving bitcoin will still continue moving sideways. In the meantime all those ETF managers will keep buying bitcoin and they will emerge as the biggest bitcoin holders in the industry. Which is good for the short term but in the long term this things can turn ugly.
For quite some time now, large exchanges and funds have a huge amount of bitcoins, so the worst has essentially already happened. And now they dictate where and how they will move forward; nothing depends on small traders for a long time. The moment was lost as soon as large monopolistic exchanges appeared and when hundreds of different altcoins appeared on the market. So now we can only adapt to the current conditions and guess what the giants are planning.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Less than 80 days until the 4th Ever #Bitcoin Halving on: February 06, 2024, 03:02:06 PM
There is a huge expectation of halving, people are indeed having some gasp and history recall which makes them think this would be the beginning of another bull season. Glad we are optimistic but the question is if we fill our bag already or just still waiting after the halving.

Well, the impact of halving is quite remarkable, the increase in prices is really what we see. But, based on the previous ATH, it never comes right after halving, it takes several months to see results. Maybe I was wrong but I was expecting to see the new ATH next year, exactly following the 4-years cycle in the history of the market.
Many users simply lay low and continue to accumulate Bitcoin while there is such an opportunity, it is better to do this now in silence. Closer to the haliving itself, I think there will be a strong news background in the popular media, which will give the main impetus for mass purchases and, accordingly, there will be a new influx of traders in the market. About two weeks before the halving itself, there will be more and more mentions in the media as this will be a trend.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who says Tesla initiated last bull run is wrong on: February 06, 2024, 11:49:07 AM
Since associated with Elon Musk, people probably thinks that anything Elon Musk advertises must have good value hence why i am sure the moment Tesla accepted bitcoin more people got interested and trusted bitcoin

While i agree that tesla had some impact on bitcoin’s price it is far away from being the driving factor of the bull run people who say that it was what initiated  bull run are delusional especially knowing that the previous halving happened during that time
At that time, Musk wisely took advantage of the situation and caught this wave of hype, and at that moment he became “one of the people” for the community, simultaneously advertising Tesla and all his other projects received a huge portion of advertising and recognition. Many users wanted to see another crypto enthusiast in their idol, but it turned out as usually, the media often wrote news and often made up tall tales, several years have passed and where is Musk now? He’s still busy with his projects and he doesn’t care about crypto.
80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 17th FEBRUARY 2024 on: February 05, 2024, 04:00:53 PM
The fight was postponed to May 18 and now it will definitely take place.
Direct speech from the organizer: “The last attempt is when we can hold this fight, and I have set the date - May 18. I have guarantees from both boxers - 10 million [dollars], if anyone - then he refuses the fight [his opponent will receive]. 10 million is not from us, we guarantee it - 10 million from their personal funds."
In this case, the fight will be more interesting since the athletes will have more time to prepare, and the public will be more interested in watching since the event will be final and there should be no more postponements.

So if either fighter pulls out of the fight they would be on the hook for $10 million. That is very interesting. I wonder about the logistics of this agreement. Do they actually have $20 million in escrow, $10 million from each, or is it just a contract they signed saying they will pay that amount if they don't go through with it? I just hope there are no more obstacles and we get an undisputed heavyweight champion once and for all.
I don’t know if any of them have such funds since the amount is not small, but it will be a good incentive for every athlete to come to the fight and box.
If this is not done, boxers may lose the support of their fans and earn a reputation as a person who is not responsible for their words and actions, which will also negatively affect their future career.
