61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do casinos require users to verify their identity through a KYC policy? on: May 04, 2024, 02:44:40 PM
I've read a lot of comments in this board stating that a user is required to undergo KYC if their account is suspected of cheating. Can anyone explain how it is necessary related to the subject? A detailed explanation would be better, but everyone's ideas are welcome, as I believe it's worth discussing so gamblers will not be misled regarding this matter, which pops up from time to time.
It's not specifically for cheating necessarily. It may just be a due process whenever withdrawal happens since KYC was mainly made to prevent Money laundering from happening through casinos. At least, that's the main reason for the creation of KYC afaik. There may also be plus sides for the casino, e.g. customer profiling and data statistics and stuff that they can use to improve the marketing of their services towards places that have less users compared the ones that have more.

If it was cheating specifically, to hell be about KYC, they'd just straight up ban both the account and the IP of the user imo.
62  Economy / Speculation / Re: Falseful speculations about bitcoin predictions and its halving on: May 04, 2024, 05:22:17 AM
~
People are expecting the effects of the halving, not the halving itself. Halving isn't something people predict or speculate, it's a matter of fact that happens every 4 years. It just recently happened and that's that, it's over now. As for the effects, which as I said are what most people are expecting, I myself expect it to happen within a half a year to a year time frame from the halving, not weeks after it lol. It's a gradual process, not a sudden one.

And if people truly wanted to profit, they would've seen the recent dips as opportunities to buy more. I did.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Protona,Your AI Assistant. on: May 04, 2024, 01:50:26 AM
The AI Assistant is undergoing training and compiling a "Fact Database" with the help of a group of engineers and traders who are training Protona. As a result, you can expect to see improved responses and coverage of more topics each week.

PRTN Token reflects the project's activity. In the future, access to advanced Protona features will be available for purchase using PRTN Token.
Would the base model be free forever I wonder? Or just limited in the tokens? Also, I tried looking up your product in Google, but brought up 0 results related to it. Your website didn't even pop up, probably fix the site's SEO first?

~
Which should be expected, how can a small project hope to compete against other projects which have a first-mover advantage or that have way more resources behind them? The simple answer is that this is not possible.

So while I admire those that may try to create something new, chances are this project will fail as there is no way to compete against the current leaders on the AI market when they have such an advantage already, and unless they have some sort of secret algorithm, which could give them an edge, I do not see this ending well.
[/quote]
The thing is they should've probably made it more advanced in specific topics, and in this case, their business model is about crypto, so at least let the AI brush up its data bank with most of the blockchain-related stuff. Even if they don't exceed ChatGPT, at the very least they should've been able to reach similar levels to it in terms of information with regards to crypto and/or related stuff like trading. Weird how they even added coding-related stuff really since Copilot would beat them hands down no matter what. Trading at least, I haven't heard of any big AI company for it.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which device do you prefer for gambling ? on: May 04, 2024, 12:42:06 AM
Just separate it into two, handheld and Desktop/Laptop imo. I usually use my desktop PC, my phone is solely 100% for reading, whether it be framework documents, novels, random books I bought off of Amazon and read on Kindle. I do play on my work PC though, part of IT so I can bypass most of the restrictions that my team has set Tongue. Well I just learned to do that since the team before already practiced doing such stuff when nothing is going on at work.

Plus, I can multi-task with Desktops, unlike handheld ones.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you taking advantage of this red market? on: May 02, 2024, 09:45:18 PM
~
Already am. For altcoins, the dip has been ongoing since quite a few days prior already (or maybe even weeks, don't remember) and I've been buying every now and then with some coins that I like. As for BTC, I bought at around 63k ish and at the recent 58k ish levels. Will probably continue to do so if it ever dips down again later on.

I'm generally in profit for quite a while now already anyway since I started DCA'ing when the price was at around 15k ish, so even with some temporary losses due to buying high right now, those initial profits offset them by quite a margin.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Buy a Bonus VS playing Slot on normal Spin - which do you prefer? on: May 02, 2024, 09:24:05 PM
~
I don't think I've had any good profit from either of them really. There were times when I wanted to go fast and feel the thrill so I bought the offered bonuses every now and then. I won some, then lost it immediately a few moments later so yeah. I have won at the very least, so it is a lot easier to profit (with bigger margins) compared to normal spins but you still have to get lucky.

And tbf in your case op, if the end result was that you're still going to end up playing more, just buy the bonus imo.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamers using demo account on: May 02, 2024, 09:08:25 PM
~
Wasn't this established in the past already? Or at least, assumed by the majority of people who watch about said streamers. Granted some might have this, some might just actually be spending money that they got from the casino themselves so the money they were SUPPOSED to spend, which imo is almost the same as them playing a demo account in terms of ethics.

Nothing too solid in terms of evidence though lol. Casinos may just say that they should use this specific account but they'd never disclose that said account had changed odds compared to other regular accounts after all.
68  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: TRADERS are not UNEMPLOYED on: May 01, 2024, 11:12:28 PM
~
Why are you overcomplicating this, being employed is between two parties, and self-employment is between you and yourself so I don't think that works. Being unemployed doesn't mean you have no income, it just means that you're not in a relationship to another party that gives you pay for your services, simple as that.

I don't even see how one can become discouraged by a title of being "employed" or "unemployed". I mean, you're making money (I'm assuming you are since you're still continuing trading at that point), and that's all that matters imo.
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You Submit KYC Before You Win Big on: May 01, 2024, 09:28:44 PM
~
Afaik you can (KYC before winning)? Definitely a lot better to do it beforehand anyway compared to being screwed by the casino when you just won. It wouldn't be odd as well if they halted the review process due to some bs "problems" that they had midway so you're money is just going to get stuck there indefinitely, thereby making you have no choice but to spend it again on playing. I guess it is a marketing strategy for them lol. As for the process, they usually have a dedicated page for the KYC process itself, no need to go through customer support (unless problems arise).

Honestly wish some sort of regulatory board for casinos required them to put up that the casino needs KYC beforehand in red bold letters in their signup page lol. Reading the ToS just for KYC isn't exactly everyone does after all.
70  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting for reality not club affection on: May 01, 2024, 09:01:33 PM
~
I mean there's some bias but definitely not because of me loving the team one-sidedly, it's just that their performance has been so dominating in the past tournaments that I always bet for them regardless of their opponent. Honestly, if all you're going about when sports betting is because you want to "support" your team, then that's the complete opposite of what you're supposed to do. Heck, they're not even related at all even.

If you're going to bet on something, think about it and not feel about it lol. Even guessing might be a lot better than just letting your emotions get the best of you.
71  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2v1 MMA fight? on: May 01, 2024, 12:34:23 PM
~
Calling it a dogfight tournament was perfection lol. Honestly I don't think there's anything fair about it unless possibly the weight class between the two sides was so massive that having two people on one side provides close to nothing in terms of advantage. Otherwise, It's honestly just a beating up showcase.

Humans aren't exactly what we usually see in movies or shows that showcase possible 1v2 scenarios, especially in a fair match like this where both sides are in an equal environment. It can be enjoyable to watch for some since, well, a beatdown is something that can get your blood pumping if you're into it.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should the top altcoins now be ok that we are in bull run? on: May 01, 2024, 04:04:12 AM
~
Where'd you get the idea that the bull run was here? Afaik aren't most markets down at least this month or two? Definitely a good time to invest now since buying low is better than buying high but it doesn't mean that it's the absolute low, it can still go lower really. Luna was an issue because of the exchange, not because of the season or because of the coin itself so I don't think comparing it to others would make much sense.

Still considering you bought 6 months ago, then yea you're good. At least for now. God knows what's gonna happen in the next few more months. Personally I'm waiting till the end of the year or so before deciding.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can i earn from NFTs and Game on: April 30, 2024, 02:28:30 PM
~
First of all, no, earning nfts isn't anything cool. 2nd, it's not unique, literally any NFT game advertises that they have a player-driven economy but they fail to provide failsafe for instances where the game economy could potentially slide down one-sidedly that it'd have no worth or value anymore.

Honestly think it's just another sht game that couldn't be released in the competitive market so they released it as an nft to have some chance lol.
74  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will communism ever be realized? on: April 29, 2024, 10:01:09 PM
The only thing communism would ever do is for everyone to be ignored equally. It was never an idea that could be applied to reality since each person is their own unique individual. Our own uniqueness, no matter how small or vague, exists and will continue to do so no matter what.

It also doesn't leave room for competition which is the key thing for improvement. After all, no incentives would mean that to damn working hard, they'd probably just breathe their day in and day out without doing much. Plus, inherently fighting what you are would leave a lot of people rebelling against it, so it'd probably take decades and a lot of bodies before such an idea is even implemented properly, if there was even a proper way to do it.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The rate of abandoned projects on solana on: April 29, 2024, 09:35:01 PM
~
With how easy it is to make meme coins? It's no surprise why in the first place countless scam projects or rugpulled projects exist. I'd imagine trying to verify each and every one of them to be a massive money sink since the manpower needed to do so would be enormous and there's no real way to determine whether a project is a scam or not before it scams others most of the time, so it'd just be wasted manpower. It's also no surprise since the Solana network has cheaper fees, so those who'd be mass spamming the creation of meme coins would naturally go to the place where there's less cost to start their scam up.

In the first place, I think you knew you were investing in meme coins, so the idea of being rug-pulled should've been in your mind already. The meaning is pretty synonymous already with meme coins imo.
76  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you do if you find yourself in a similar situation like this? on: April 29, 2024, 09:06:09 PM
~
Nothing you can do at that point lol. Things have already been done and no matter how much you regret you can't exactly return the money you spent to gamble. Even working it out to return the money probably would take a while, and no amount of money returned could probably return the trust that their parents have for him. Unless ofc the parents are THAT magnanimous.  Considering how he spent his parents' money, I assume he also spent everything he had so he's penniless at that moment. It'd be pretty hard to come back from that imo, not to mention that you have to pay the money you spent from your parents.

Still confused about why they decided to save all their money in one bank account though.
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are online/crypto casinos the most profitable digital business? on: April 28, 2024, 10:55:41 PM
~
It depends I think? It's one of the more guaranteed ones in terms of being consistent though if you manage to develop your userbase enough, but being the most profitable is still questionable imo. There are probably a lot of other SaaS out there that are way more profitable than casinos in some cases, but they aren't exactly the easiest thing to manage and setup unlike casinos, nor would they be as consistent. There's also cases where a product would boom out of nowhere, generating thousands of increase in revenue but only for that specific moment, might last a month or two but gradually lose hype sooner or later.

Besides, with the talks of costs, literally every digital business has them. If we were to compare casinos with other businesses with the same level of infrastructure, I don't think there'd be any difference in terms of costs and if there was, it'd be really minor. As for you're plan of e-commerce, it all depends on how you market it. Sadly there are big e-commerce websites available already, I don't think yours would be able to stand out that big compared to those.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In Your Country Who Gamble More? Young Ones or Elderly Ones on: April 28, 2024, 09:38:02 PM
~
I guess a different type of gamble? From what I've seen in my neighborhood, instead of games like poker, slots or whatnot, most of those who are above in age usually enjoy lotteries, scratch it tickets, and Bingo. To be more specific, they usually have this weekly kind of gathering in my neighborhood where they setup a tent and tables in the road (not enough to be a hindrance) and just, well, play it out there.

For anything more specific in online, you only have their statistics, if they ever publicly release it as a source. You can't exactly take a random person from the internet's word for it lol.
79  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you cashout or wait for the game to conclude? on: April 28, 2024, 09:03:57 PM
Hmmm, I'd probably wait? Money-wise if I was struggling then I'd definitely cash it out. If not, then I'd go all the way to the end since making the bet in the first place, the original goal was to get the 36m and not the 11m. I suppose it'd also depend on the last match and whether or not my mind changed decisions due to some news about the players or the current state of the team, but that's only if there's a change. If there's none, I'd wait, 100%.

I suppose you can say it's greed. But I'm assuming that it in this situation I have enough capability to be that greedy, if not then as I've said previously, I'd cash out.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Profitable Games on: April 28, 2024, 11:38:04 AM

If you can grow your network then try asking around for testing positions for some crypto games. A friend of my acquaintance told me they get a couple hundred from being a tester, basically a QA job for some alpha/beta crypto games. Requires you to have a network to even join in in said testing though in comparison to live and released games.

As for anything steady and worth it, I hardly doubt there's any like that left. There are some bonuses and promos that are still up and about related to Axie Infinity but they aren't necessarily a guaranteed return to you, more like lotteries really.
