601  Economy / Goods / Re: btc trinkets: Bitcoin Tiepins, Cufflinks, Lapel pins, Keychain, Money Clip on: January 08, 2013, 06:34:26 AM
Thank you, looks small.. but Im giving it a go right away.
[edit] My goods are now up on coinpost.com and I suspect I will be using it alongside bitmit for the forseeable future.
I feel much better about posting them up there now that I found tosaki's message about bitmit having technical difficulties, as a miner my first tought was a ddos and I was concerned about using a service that could have the interest to orcestrate one Smiley Glad my gut feeling was outright wrong.
602  Economy / Goods / Re: btc trinkets: Bitcoin Tiepins, Cufflinks, Lapel pins, Keychain, Money Clip on: January 08, 2013, 06:20:55 AM
Bitmit has been down for atleast three days and it's starting to show at my end, roughly 2/3 of sales I do go trough bitmit with escrow. Where should I take my buisness should the situation continue ? A fully automated webstore is in my to do pile, but I've set the pre-requisite for that to have ten different items on sale and in stock. Any toughts ?

I just realized that I have in total about 20% more accepted namecoin shares compared to bitcoin shares. Not speaking of per round shares here, those will obviously be wildly different because the chains don't have same difficulty. Maybe I just don't understand merged mining well enough, but shouldn't the total share numbers be roughly equal? I thought every share is used on both chains.
One crash some months ago did the same thing for my shares, cant remember what my hashrate was, but the difference stands at around 2 million shares.
604  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bank account opening rejected - seeking advice. on: January 04, 2013, 01:44:54 PM
I'd like to know the name of the bank, these is a small chanse I have an account in it. Should this be the case I will definetley swap over to another bank.
[edit] ..and obviously tell them why I am leaving.
605  Other / Meta / Re: POLL: Sales of hacked, compromised, and/or unauthorized transfers of accounts. on: January 03, 2013, 06:54:41 PM
I consider said activities dispicable and do wish that we as a community can persuade the sellers to conduct there buisness elsewhere.
606  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BTCFPGA announces hosted ASIC plans... what does this portend? on: January 02, 2013, 09:37:59 PM
As of now I have more trust into BFL rather than BTCFPGA.
That should say a lot given my radical change of view about Tom.

Welcome to the dark side....
I trust Tom asfar as my fully reversible creditcard payment goes, had bfl accepted such I'd have money in there too.

imagine there is a street in your city and diamonds are spread out there anyone can take them sell them and make money but they are 0.5 underneath the street every body is looking for them and trying to find more diamonds, you invent a machine which can show you where exactly the diamonds are, whats your reason to start selling the machine instead of looking for diamonds?!!
i mean it dosent make sense! it dosent look to be useful machine! why with unit which you can make 3000+  usd a month you will sell them for 1000+ u , and can make 3000+ a month you will start selling them instead making money with them?!

any idea?
1. You know someone can and will eventually develop a more efficient device doing the same thing, quite likeley so efficient that your machine wont cover it's running costs.
[edit] 1.1 Perhaps you could yourself develop a much more efficient device, but lack the massive funding needed and choose to use your initial hardware to fund the second one.
2. You consider diamonds a too volitale store of value.
609  Economy / Goods / Re: What would you give me (can be physical or digital) for 1 BTC? on: January 02, 2013, 02:14:07 PM
This:

Is 1.2 Bitcoin shipped, shipping costs me 1.9€ + lhe envelope, so I'd say Im in the price range. escrow trough bitmit costs 1.9% which I add to the end-price if the buyer wants escrow.

[note]
My car keys are not included Tongue

Both the posts above are brilliant.. I especially love the landlord approach.
611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Meanwhile on my car... on: January 02, 2013, 01:41:03 PM
Oh man wish I could get one, first off the format here would need to be three letters - three numbers or less of the either.

BTC-150

for BTC-Iso(kivi)

Thats actually good, now my only problem is the price.. need to sell more trinkets XD
612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / My roadmap to bitcoins success. on: January 01, 2013, 05:45:16 PM
These simple steps are basicly what Im doing with bitcoin, I'd love to hear suggestions on what the next ones should be and what you guys are doing differently.

1. I mine, currently representing a "whopping" 0,0002% of the netwoks hashrate. I hope to maintain that slice, with no plans atleast for now to go bigger.

2. I produce and sell goods that are only available for bitcoins. The simplified buisness plan here is to re-invest 50% of any income of the venture back in to new products and/or restocking sold out ones.

3. I consume with bitcoin, roughly a thrid of my bitcoin income gets traded for goods and services, sometimes more when I can use bitcoin for example to purchase web hosting, site desing or graphic design to further advance said venture in step 2.

4. I speculate, buy low, sell high. good for the economy as it stabilizes the price.

5. I sell bitcoins again roughly a third of what I make gets sold in exchanges.

6. I hoard coins, yet again roughly a third of my bitcoin income goes in to "cold storage".

7. I promote bitcoin in my everyday life wherever I find it approprate, mainly just by talking about it.

It took me about 9 months from discovering bitcoin to gear up to the point where I am today, it's been an interesting ride and I do hope it continues as such. At the time of writing this my first bitcoin address is a year and a couple of days old. I sure am glad that I left the blockchain to download even tough it seemd to take forever Smiley

Should I be doing more ?

If so what ?

Are you doing your part ?

Oh man wish I could get one, first off the format here would need to be three letters - three numbers or less of the either. And to make things worse the price of one is 5000€ last I heard. Finland is the ultimate byrocracy Sad

Well atleast I got this to keep me smiling while I drive:

Maybe Im just naive, but what would a person/group gain from DDoSing a pool like this? I would think most miners have a backup pool in place and there for it does not affect the network hashrate. The pool OP would be the only one really hurting as far as I can tell.
The most likeley attacker is another pool op, my backup is p2pool, so no gain from me, is yours ?
