Do you have a US / North America distributor?
Both Amazon and eBay show shipping from China/Hong Kong/Taiwan with a delivery date sometime in April.
Was hoping to get one a bit more locally.

Looks cool. Is that a RPi Zero that you are using or something else?
Would be interested if it's the Pi because I know them well enough to make other changes that I would like.

6045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [W] 10 XMR, [H] BTC on: March 07, 2020, 09:14:09 PM
I can do 4.9xxxx XMR.
The wallet has just under 5 and then TX fees will take a bit more.

Any reason you don't want to just go to an exchange to do it?

I will be offline for at least an hour after I post this, but should be around later.

You put this in the wrong section. Should be in Marketplace > Goods > Collectibles like the post you referenced.
Address looks to be this one: https://btc.com/1NBu46UR5Ls5mhJKqjk7aA27cDFtmriBJi

Do you own it or are you buying / selling it?

6047  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Where can i download bitcoin 0.3.19? on: March 07, 2020, 07:20:44 PM
Isn't this the v0.3.19 that you're looking for: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/releases?after=v0.3.22rc1?
The page can still can continue down to v0.1.5 (https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/releases?after=v0.1.6test1).

You have to compile it yourself.

Yes! Thank you

Also keep in mind some of the dependencies are difficult if not impossible to find.
Last time I did it I wound up downloading an old version of debian that had 3 DVDs totaling about 12GB because that was the only way to get some of them.
Could not find them anywhere online and just gave up.

Just a bump to say I bought another few cards from you again and it's smooth as ever.
Any possibility of getting some US based retail store cards?

6049  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Yes, the Keepkey is a worthless black bricklet on: March 07, 2020, 12:57:17 PM
Side note, a co-worker just had some issues with his keepkey, no response / heartbeat from the usb plug.
Took it apart figuring that the solder connections were bad. (That's just about the limit of my repair ability)
Board actually cracked at the connection point.

So no matter what hardware wallet you use, when inserting the usb plug, don't be The Hulk.

Hit's F5 a few more times.

6051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Want to play with bitcoin cli, no harddrive space on: March 06, 2020, 07:43:48 PM
Are there any good resources on how to get up and running with the testnet
I believe you just need to run it with the -testnet argument flag.

That or add testnet=1 to your bitcoin.conf file.
Either way works, when doing a lot of testing I tend to put in the conf file that way if I start / stop it a lot I can't mess up and forget to put the argument in the command line.

6052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Want to play with bitcoin cli, no harddrive space on: March 06, 2020, 05:10:30 PM
How much space do you have? You can always use testnet instead of mainnet.
Commands are the same but the blockchain is a fraction of the size and you can get some testnet coins for free instead of risking real coins while playing with the cli.

6053  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / What to do with old miners after the having. on: March 06, 2020, 12:20:40 PM
With the halving approaching there will probably be a lot of older gear being turned off especially with summer approaching in the northern hemisphere.

What is everyone planning to do with your older gear?
I know we have a lot of us making "space heaters" for the winter but that still leaves a lot of gear that is going to be way past EOL.
Yeah, I am keeping my R4, and probably 1 S7-LN, but the rest and the parts for them I am probably going to send to e-waste.
I have enough spare boards that the 1 board T9+ and the 1 board S9 will also probably stick around.
The rest, not so much.

Anything else anyone is doing that I am missing?

Oh and a side note, please DO NOT just throw them out if you are done with the them, recycle them properly.

6054  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Warm cables/power cords on: March 05, 2020, 02:32:30 PM
Yes the cables do look good.

3 different PCs on 3 different networks popped as malware.

Blocked by malwarebytes on one, a sonicwall on another and a barracuda on the 3rd.

With that being said, it might be that there is / was an ad that was being displayed that is / was causing the issue.

googling a bit there have been issues from pasteboard.co on and off for a while now with this.

6055  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Which wallet for a long term storage? on: March 05, 2020, 01:30:57 PM
Depends.
You can give them an opendime: https://opendime.com/
But it's not a "wallet" per say, it's just a stick with the private key locked away until you open it. Think of it as a piggybank.

You can also just do a paper wallet.

The private key that comes from either of the above is a standard that will always be able to be imported into whatever wallets exist in a few years.

There are also time lock transactions that can be generated, but if you are a self admitted newbie (nothing wrong with that) then you will probably be asking someone for help, which means you are going to have to trust them a lot.

This thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5230576

The link pops as bad (wow a new users posting a malware link)

Image of malwarebytes blocking it:

Minor update. Some devices are popping this on and off as malware. Might be a bad ad that they are hosting or something else.
Sonicwall likes it then blocks it then likes it again.

If in the opinion of the community it turns out that this is not a trust case, then I will remove the tag or will replace it to a neutral one.

Another one of Dave's rambling trust comments.

Everyone has their own view of what should and should not be in trust.
*I* feel that it should be based only on financial matters. But that is just me. If you think Lauda cannot be trusted with financial dealings, red trust. If you think TECSHARE cannot be trusted with financial dealings, red trust. If you think I cannot be trusted with financial dealings red trust.
Everything else should be neutral with an explanation. It is VERY far from an ideal situation but it's what we have to work with.

The problem is (once again IMO) that personal feelings about people have nothing to do with the reality of if we can trust them to do what they said they will do.

I have said it before and I will say it again. The trust and feedback should be separate. I trust a lot of people on this forum.
My trust list (more or less) is people I have had dealings with or people I know have had dealings with that concern financial matters.
The people I have left trust for I have had financial dealings with.

Because that is what we have to work with.

I would love to have feedback / trust be separate.
This way someone could post *feedback* like "I trust kzv bacause....." or "I don't trust kzv because....." If we bought or sold or traded something or had another financial dealings I could leave you *trust* because I could say that you do or do not follow though on financial dealings.

This way I could take look at say. "wow, davef has a few dozen good trades, but he is an asshat and I just do not want to deal with him" Now other members are looking at my feedback / trust seeing a mixing of both.

I know I have done trades with some people who have not left me positive trust / feedback because of other things that have gone on with the forum. So be it.
I think it would be better if they could say, "yeah you can trust him I bought "X" from him and he shipped w/o issue" and then they could post about me being an arrogant ass and will give you an earful about why you are wrong doing things the way you are doing them.

Yeah, I have said it all before and will say it again. Just saw this and had to get it off my chest.

As for trust lists and ~ people on your list. With the DT1 / DT2 drama, it's becoming a bigger disaster. Not sure how to fix it, but that is also part of the problem. There are people who are 100% opposite and fight each other all day here. I trust them both in terms of financial dealings. Would not want to hang out with either of them. They ~ each other. Does adding them into my list really make a difference at that point?

Enough rambling from me. Got to go to work. [checks lottery ticket, didn't win, yep have to go]
